We went to Taste of China Seafood Restaurant in Chinatown to celebrate my grandpa’s 85th birthday, and it was a good time. The vibe was relaxed, and the staff was friendly, which made it nice for our family gathering. The food was alright—nothing amazing, but definitely decent. The seafood was fresh, though some dishes could’ve used a little more flavor. It wasn’t bad, but just a little more kick in the seasoning would’ve made a difference. The service was pretty solid, even with the place being busy. They made sure we had everything we needed, which was cool. Overall, it was a chill spot for the occasion. Not the best food ever, but it worked for the celebration. With a little tweaking, it could be even better. Wouldn’t mind coming back to give it another go 🥳🥳🥳

Follow @bredgyeats for more food reviews and posts! A great spot to get your fixings for a more traditional canto-style experience, with a relaxed atmosphere and familiar tastes. There are the classics that my family usually gets like the black bean beef noodles and seafood fried noodles, but I opted for something a little special this time. King mushrooms, scallops and pork neck meat are stir-fried together along with green peas carrots and celery, with a minimalistic seasoning. I especially loved their dish for its simple, savoury taste and the variety of textures you get, especially the tender crispness of the pork. We got: Seafood Fried Noodle 海鮮炒麵, 皇子菇帶子爽肉, Black Bean Stir Fried Beef Noodle 豉椒牛河

Came here for lunch trying to take advantage of the HST holiday and it didn't disappoint. There was no jacking up prices with prices remaining as before. They have all day breakfast for $12.99 and lunch special for $14.99. Portion size is generous and all lunch combos come with a drink. It looks to be a hot spot for the lunch crowd as the premise is filled the entire visit and there were constant stream of incoming customers and takeouts. We ordered 3 sets of meals for 3 adults and ended up taking away one of them. The Portuguese Chicken rice has the rice fried before baking giving it a good texture. The egg and ham sandwich is of thick bread and egg, easily completing a hearty meal. And the staff didn't mind food sharing and brought extra bowls. Overall a good experience and will come for another visit

Pine House Cafe appears to have become a neighborhood staple in the few months I've noticed it. Situated in the convenient location right beside Sunny Supermarket, it's a great option on the weekend right before or after grocery shopping. The restaurant opens at 11AM and will normally have a line-up a few minutes beforehand. Once it opens, they seat you strategically so the people near the door are people first in line, and they take your order starting from that side. If you arrive before 11:10 or so, I'd say you have a high chance of getting into the first seating. Our group of three ordered three different lunch combos. The price I noted for everything was between $12 - $18. These combos come with a drink (+$1 for a cold beverage) and soup of the day. When coupled with the generous portion of the entree, this is an extremely good deal in my opinion. You could even share two entrees amongst three people, depending on what you order. I saw many older couples sharing one order of Hainanese chicken. Pictured is the Hainanese Chicken, Black Pepper Beef, and Portuguese Chicken on Rice. As you can see, the portions are big! The taste was also great and what you would typically expect of a HK cafe. The service is very fast, if hurried at times.

Was in the area and wanted a quick, simple meal and decided to try this place out. For the most part, we enjoyed our food. I ordered the Beef Brisket and my wife ordered the Soft Pork Bone, but as you can probably see from the photo, there wasn't much actual soft pork bone in there. We didn't inquire (but probably should've) as we did enjoy our meal the noodles in particular.

The signature sour and spicy dry noodle is very tasty. But my wife ordered the soup noodle with BBQ pork. The pork tasted like it has been in the fridge for a few days and then had been microwaved for too long.

I don’t get why people rating this restaurant such low score. Casa Imperial Fine Cuisine located in a busy area of Scarborough is a state of art. I mean just look at the color of time on the historical building. I think the money is worth spending, considering you come here both for the fine food & excellent customer service. I felt like as if I walked into the Time Machine… The food tastes good and fresh; the portion is quite large. I ordered a little too much because I wanted to have some variety to try. I think the ingredients they use are one of the reasons why they pride themselves as one of the best restaurants in GTA. It’s a definitely must try, I’d highly suggest.

Dim sum is good at this restaurant, and less oily compared to other locations. Prices are average, and they offer the pre-11 am special on weekdays. The presentation of the food isn't as nice as Skyview or The One. The restaurant decor is very classical. Some people may like it and others may not. Be prepared to walk some stairs as the restaurant is split up on different floors. The washroom is down in the basement. I went on a Saturday and only waited a few minutes for a table. I will return one day.

Food and service was great in the new location. Parking is available in the plaza. accessibility wise, The chairs are low from the table (keep in mind) and it’s very noisy of course on weekends with lots of big family. Thank you! Personally, I prefer the Harbourfront location best.

The food came out quickly. It was fresh, hot and delicious. There was plenty of staff and the service was amazing.

Food: - Crown Jewel BBQ Pork Buns had a nice crust with a tasty filling. It’s definitely a handful and good for sharing between 3 and 2 people. - Steamed Chicken Wrapped in Lotus Leaf, Rice Roll Deep Fried Pork Dumpling tasted pretty much as what you’d expect like in other dim sum places - Sui Mai and Chicken Feet tasted good and would order again Service: - Service was good. Some dim sum places may be a bit tough with English but our server was quick and responsive. I did order two more things but I guess they forgot to put the order in because we never got it. Overall, it’s a good restaurant for dim sum but compared to other places, there are better.

Decent food, good portion and good value. It has some special dim sum that are not available at other dim sum restaurants. Worth to try and definitely will come back again

Great dim sum n good service. The entrance is decorated in vintage style. Quality of food is high standard. Main dishes too, very yummy. I'm sure will go back again.

Been here over 20 times and this review is based on most recent visit. Food is still by far one of the best in Scarborough. For four people we spent $35 each so cost is reasonable. Larger number of dishes than most places Service used to be 3/5 but this time would be 2/5. Server asked if we wanted an item and if said no, refused to serve us. Also takes forever to flag down someone to make additional requests Atmosphere is very nice. Nice decor with some light music and noise is not super loud but not super quiet Would recommend this place for dim sum though

When I think of a good Chinese restaurant: affordable, tasty and unique are adjectives that I look for. At Zunyan Fine Dining & Banquet, they hit the mark on our visit! A family member recently came for a banquet and recommended here for a special occasion. It was well-decorated, spacious and not very busy when we visited for an early weekend dinner. The $168 set menu was great value, featuring fish maw seafood soup, BBQ platter, 4 lb twin lobster, New Zealand beef ribs, vegetable, and sweet & sour pork. Everything came out quickly hot from the kitchen before the dinner rush. Soup had depth and was well-balanced with vinegar & white pepper. The BBQ goose was succulent & finished in a heart beat. Lobster contained decent sized chunks of meat in savory Maggi sauce. Their beef short rib was creative, coated in fried batter to preserve the tender cuts of meat. Sweet & sour pork had a nice crispy contrast too. We were stuffed, and also served complimentary desserts to finish the meal. Staff were attentive & cheerful, promptly switching plates & refilling tea. They kindly served our group’s celebratory cake. We even noticed another group who hosted their surprise birthday here, starting in the main area before retreating to a private room. Pleasant meal spot for another visit!

Another dim sum spot that lives up to dim sum expectations. Forgot about this place as I went about a year ago, so not sure if the menu prices and offering are still the same, but it can’t be far off. The food was really good. They have this crispy shrimp roll which was very well done. Nice crunch to each bite. Also the dessert menu was quite extensive they we ordered a few since it wasn’t something we see at every place. Service was as you would expect from an East Asian restaurant. But it can’t get quite just here, especially on the weekends. Interior is very pretty to look at. Nice ceilings and chandeliers making for a nicer vibe and a great location for people considering wedding banquets. Even the entryway seems regal. Great job overall

Review for Shanghai 360 and Ruby Thai at Eaton Centre Food Court (Toronto) I tried the $14.49 two-meat combo at Shanghai 360 and Ruby Thai. I went for BBQ chicken, calamari, and fried rice. The BBQ chicken was tasty, with a nice balance of sweetness and savoury flavours. The calamari was cooked just right—tender and easy to cut even with a plastic knife, which I appreciated. The portion size was generous, more than enough for one meal (at least for me). As for the price, it’s surprisingly good compared to similar meals I’ve had at Ottawa food courts. The meal delivers solid value for what you pay. While it’s not a gourmet experience, it’s definitely a satisfying option for a quick bite downtown. 3.5/5 stars.

Smashing IT! One can never resist ordering from Shanghai 360! Love the food and the large variety to choose from! Excellent customer service as well.

Great value deals for food. The food is great at reasonable prices for family dinner. Nowadays, it is very hard to find a restaurant like this one, especially with the increased cost of living. The only downside is that there is limited parking spaces outside the restaurant, but there are more parking spaces across the street next to the church. Please kindly note that the certain menus posted here (taken on 1/4/2025) are subject to changes based on the restaurant, especially after Lunar Chinese New Year.

If you don't know how to read Chinese, forget about it - you won't be able to understand anything on the menus. It's very clear Lucky Pot tends to mostly cater to exclusively Chinese clientele. I had to come with my Chinese girlfriend to understand anything on the menu. Your typical Cantonese fare is served here and most items are done well enough. The quality of the wok hei is okay, making the food not excellent but just great compared to its counterparts like Dong Kee, J&Y or Yu Seafood. If you can come here with a Chinese reading friend/family - try it out. Restaurants like these need to be supported and should be kept around. Extremely affordable and great tasting for the low price. My favorite item was the shredded chicken, but most items are really good.

Ginger and Onion cuisine specializes in Cantonese Chinese Cuisine. We came here during dim sum. Early Bird Specials - CASH only. Mondays to Fridays before 11:30AM. Mondays to Fridays from 1:30 to 3:30PM. Saturdays and Sundays before 11:00AM. Tea per person is $2.50 each. Takeout container is $0.30 each. 12% tip surcharge automatically added to your bill. The waiter and waitress are attentive. They checked on our table constantly. They take our empty dim sum boxes away, fill up our hot water and tea pot at least once during our time there. We were taken care of. The waitress even mentioned about the 12% tip surcharge on our bill which we acknowledged. They can converse in Chinese and in English. Food was delicious. The dim sum portions were considered larger in size. The restaurant in overall is not too huge, so if they do get busy, one would have to wait for a table. It’s located in a plaza close to a supermarket and a medical building. So finding a parking spot could be challenging during peak hours. The disabled parking spots are located closer to the supermarket. There’s no push button or wave button to open the double doors upon entering the establishment. So people with mobility issues would find it a challenge to open those doors. The only thing they can improve is letting their customers know about their takeout container surcharge ahead of time. Especially when it is not a common practice amongst their competitors. Have something written or printed on their Menu would be best. Don’t try to hide it on your bill. Translate it properly in English. Your English speaking customers would appreciate the transparency.

Had been seeing this place on my instagram feed a few times lately and since it’s so close to my home, thought let’s try it out! Server was very friendly. Honestly much more engaging than others at competing establishments in the area. I forgot to take more/better pictures but here is pictured one of my favourite menu items when I eat dim sum. The cute little detail to make it look like a pear was amusing in the greatest way. The more intimate size of the restaurant was nice, didn’t feel like I was lost as a tiny speck in a banquet hall. Yes tip was added automatically, but the server was sure to point it out immediately when she dropped off the bill and before payment was made. Absolutely fair.

We've been ordering from here for years and came to eat at the restaurant today. The food is delicious, reasonably priced and the portions are huge, big fans of the mapo tofu, fried rice and beef dishes. Service was friendly and fast. 👍🏽

Hunan style cuisine. The taste is on the spicy side, but if you don’t like spicy food remember to ask them to make you meal more mild. The patio was a bit dusty, so we had to clean the chair by ourselves before we sat at the table; however, the price is cheap so we don’t really complain.
