not sure what the reviews about the lady at the front are about, she's very sweet. it's a bit of a wait when they're busy but I'm a regular and never had any issues. food is amazing and decently priced

I am giving 3 stars only for 2 reasons, they don’t sell alcoholic beverages and in some of the other reviews there are Pictures of the restaurant being a buffet and the menu says “Scarborough buffet” even though is not. I guess is from the same company, Scarborough buffet was located at Markham and I really liked going there, other than that, the food is very delicious and it wasn’t busy. Friendly environment and good service.

Don't listen to the negative comments. The food is delicious and at an affordable price. No, it's obviously not supposed to be a fancy dine-in restaurant , but for me the food quality is the most important! Joe was exceptionally friendly and very quick with my order. Thank you Joe for the good experience! I highly recommend this restaurant. Happy New year!

My family bought a small roasted Cantonese style piglet for a celebration this past weekend from Taste Good BBQ. The price paid was $240 cash. There is ample parking spaces. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and explained the difference between a Filipino Lechon versus the one we bought. The Filipino lechon is only available in the weekend. It is roasted with a closed stomach, and the skin is much smoother than the Cantonese style. It comes with a special brown sauce. The roasted pig we bought was roasted with an opened stomach and the skin is slightly textured. It is eaten with Chinese Hoisen Sauce. The one thing I immediately noticed with our roasted pig is the thickness and amount of fat visible in one bite. The fat didn't melt much away, maybe the skin needed more poking in several stages of the cooking process.

I've tried a lot of different items at Hakka and I'd definitely recommend it if you're in woodside square! The food is really good and the prices are very reasonable and the portions are amazing. The lady at the counter is also very nice, one time she even added the $2 rice bowl to my order at no extra charge which was very sweet! Some of the bad reviews complain about the wait time and sure while you have to wait a bit, it's usually like 5 to 10 minutes at most which is like a completely reasonable wait time. And I'd rather wait and have food that's freshly cooked over food that's been sitting for hours. I love getting the single items like the Manchurian chicken or the spicy fish (which are my favorite) and separately getting the rice. I can never finish more than half of the single item orders in one sitting and end up having an extra meal left over!

A really good find in a busy mall full of dinosaurs! The food here is fantastic!.. for the price. We always get their Chili Chicken Dry as we prefer the non-gravy version. The noodles aren’t very good. The fried rice is delicious when fresh and you eat it within 5 min. Not so good as takeout. Salt and pepper squid and shrimp was also good. All in all, in a mall where most dishes costs around $15+… this is a great option for decent Hakka for under $10. They also have lunch options for $5. 😎. If buying takeout… stick with the protein dishes as they are quite good and avoid the rice or noodles. Would recommend. Would return.

Dim sum is fairly good quality for a great price. They have specials depending on the day of week where all dim sum dishes are a certain price. We were seated quickly and the service was great. The options are fairly standard offering all the traditional dim sum dishes. Our food was served fairly quickly and tasted fairly good. Overall, it was a filling meal for a fair price and good quality dim sum.

Bring cash for their combo specials. Food is well priced. The combo for 2 was more to the bland side (like a bland diet). Not really our cup of tea, but our elders like it. The Sweet Sauce Pork $15 was a big portion.

The spicy Szechuan dishes are great. The heat from the spice will definitely warm you up on a cold night. The dimsums on the other hand are just ok. Like the dumplings are good for a quick fix but definitely not the best ones I had. The service was quick but on the night I went they seem to be to busy to check up on everyone. Overall it was good but I would just go for the Szechuan stuff there for the future.

The barbecue fish is amazing! And lots of regular fried dishes are very authentic and delicious too. The downside is the service is always horrible. The servers here are always extremely slow and just stood there and look very lost. It is really hard to call the server for extra tissue or order food/ pay bills even thought the diner is really small, and this happens among almost all shifts (I go there very often so I’ve seen many different servers). It happens too often that me and friends all get frustrated. Honestly I won’t come here if I can find any other place with taste barbecue fish as here. :(

Food was good. But the one server(Middle-aged woman) was awful. She was very intimidating. When we ordered, when she served some food, when we asked about takeout, she was the worst at all the times.

i wasnt going to post this but since the lady demanded a tip. I might aswell share it. everything was going well.. enjoying the food then towards the end…with the last bit of the congee i poured the soy sauce in my congee and a fly came out with it. we got a server to check it out .. she apologized and offered a free desert. but imagine my entire family used and digested the food already using the soy sauce. fine whatever but when we were about to pay a lady demanded a tip. TIP . very disappointed. wont be returning. i dont recommend. i feel like puking just by looking at the photo !

Hk Cafe that's a new find for me. Local, simple and nothing fancy. Prices are very reasonable. Only thing is the servers don't speak English. All day congee, breakfast combos and 2:30-6pm snack specials.

Great food, reasonable price, easy parking. It's a hidden gem in the area. No extra charge for cold drinks.

Life saving option for bengalis to eat out home like food with reasonable price. It's almost always crowded and noisy. Otherwise mostly good experience with some friendly servers.

The place is very nice Bangladeshi restaurant. Food was awesome - authentic Bangladeshi taste. Service was good. Environment was so soothing with nice Bangla songs.

Authentic Shanghai/ Beijing cuisine you can find in Toronto. So far this is the best northern China cuisine I have tried in Toronto. The restaurant does not come with a fancy interior and the food is amazingly delicious. I love the dumplings with home made skin and delicious fillings. The thickness and texture of the spicy & sour soup is the one I love. There is sliced fresh tomato inside the soup that is very local Chinese style in traditional home cooking. The fried pork and vegetables are very heavy in taste that match with a bowl of rice. I'll come here again for other dishes.

Amazing, absolutely amazing. I couldn't be happier or fuller eating here. So glad we came here off of a whim. Really can't see how you would be disappointed. Value for food is par none!!! Decent atmosphere, but the food shines. Northern Chinese food at its finest.

price is great, but the noodle little bit soft. Maybe try others next time.

Gourmet Kitchen is tucked away in the corner food court at the Silver Star plaza. Got the lo mai fan (Cantonese sticky rice) and it was so flavourful!! Rice was well made and there was a very good variety and portion of toppings. Their service is fast and meals even come with a drink. Remember to bring cash!

Went back to try it again after two years. The dish still does not come with HK milk tea. Their vegetarian versions of Salt and pepper fried tofu and Egg fried rice are tasteless. Needs more salt if not anything else. I have to recoil them at home. Chefs are a failure. Maybe I will be back in two years.

If you purchase 2 items with tax, they offer a free half shredded chicken. So, I tried this fast food for the first time. Very reasonable price subeject to the current inflation. $25 after tax for 3 dishes (free half shredded chicken) and served with rice and soup. In terms of food quality, it is an average. If you are lazy to cook, here is one of the options.

Reasonable price, decent tasting food, soup, dessert and rice included with most combo, slightly slow service in dinner time. Clean washroom. Cash only.

I don't have anything to complain about. Food was excellent. Give you house soup, rice and dessert. Great takeout combos. Great value. Cash only. Helps if you speak/ read Chinese. Recommend Thousand Island Shrimp.
