First Wok
Wow, if I had known this place looked the way it did, I would have never ordered food from there. I believe they need to shut this place down for a week and clean or better rebuild the place at this point!!
Ordered delivery from here as a recommendation from Wyndham hotel. The person who took my order was extremely rude and short with me. They got part of my order wrong and when I called them about it they left said they were transferring me to their manager and then left me on hold. I will not recommend this place. Egg roll (was supposed to be a spring roll) was the most foul I’ve ever tasted, we couldn’t even eat it.
King Cajun Grill
The Chinese food here is pretty good. Not sure why other reviews are very petty of the customer service. I don't care about them speaking at their native language to each other, every Chinese restaurant and buffet does it to some extent. 3rd time coming here and the food here is pretty fine.
If you care about your health a lil bit you wouldn’t want to eat here. It’s literally all sugar and fried dough and oily. Hope the owner read this and might want to change their quality of food.
Your Fresh Food
This is a new place, and they serve amazing Nepali-style momos. The momos are super delicious, and their soups are really good too. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. If you love momos, you should definitely try this place!
I had an awesome meal. The Chicken Manchow Soup was so flavorful and comforting, with just the right amount of spice. The Chilly Chicken Momo was a standout—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and full of flavors. The Chilly Potato with Scallion was perfectly spiced and had a nice crunch to it. I also tried the Mango Lassi, and it was the perfect creamy, sweet drink to balance everything out. Definitely a great spot for tasty, flavorful dishes!
Old Peking
We were craving dumplings and hence picked this restaurant. We ordered the steamed vegetable dumplings, eggplant with garlic sauce and white rice, and a dinner combo - ma po tofu that comes with vegetable fried rice and egg roll. Overall, the service was prompt and friendly and the portion size for the food was great! The taste of the dumplings was slightly disappointing (very thick outer layer, almost tasted like a bao) and even though the other two dishes were tasty, they were quite oily and filled us up too quickly! The food is great value for money but not sure if we will visit again.
Food was trash.. I ordered the Chicken w/ Broccoli and it was a complete waste of money.. The chicken came out overcooked and had a soggy texture.. Worst part was the aftertaste it gave me smh. Whatever MSG they used is definitely not it!! I'm tight point blank.
Henry Wok
This was my go-to Chinese food restaurant for years when I lived in the area. I recently passed and decided to try out their lunch to see if it still held the crown. The first thing you notice here is that this restaurant is combined with a bar. You go to the back to order and you can hang out and grab a drink at the bar while you wait or eat. The service is always good, and the lady taking orders is generally polite. The lunch menu was reasonably priced at $8.50 for an entree with pork fried rice. I ordered General Tso's and Lo mein. Everything tasted good, but the lo mein wasn't very flavorful and the rice was a bit hard. The serving sizes were good enough to satiate one. Like other Chinese restaurants in Jersey City, normal prices for other items on the menu were pretty high. For example, $8 for 4 chicken wings is crazy. The serving sizes have become smaller over the years - shrinkflation is definitely in play here. Overall, this is a solid Chinese restaurant for lunch and still tastes better than others in Jersey City that give even smaller servings. So, if I'm going to spend money on Chinese Food, this remains one of my top picks.
Personally, it's a little bit more expensive than most but it's worth it!!! They definitely give you great amount but the quality of Chinese food is superb to me. Also they are friendly quick and consistent whereas some other Chinese food some days you may get some good lomein and some other days it's like "am I in the right place?"
Taste of North China
The environment is clean and hygienic, the space is spacious, there’s a wide variety of dishes, and the flavors are great. The service is friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!👍🏼 And It’s best to dine in, as the food doesn’t taste as good when it’s taken to-go and eaten later at home.
The food here is exceptional! The cauliflower is perfectly seasoned and full of flavor, while the soup is absolutely amazing—rich, comforting, and packed with delicious depth. Highly recommend!
Great Wall
The place was really good!! I really like their food and my favorite Chinese restaurant area ever!! Me and my friends enjoy eating here! Even though inflation sucks, the price here is reasonable!
It's absolutely good. The price is very reasonable. The food here is very well cooked, IMO better than most American-Chinese food places you can find in Jersey. The are very friendly to customers and they always try to satisfy all your demands. Compare to the burrito place next door, I will 100% prefer Great Wall because they have better food quality and attitude.
King Szechuan Palace
Ordered vegetarian sesame chicken and hot and sour soup. Soup had two pieces of mushroom and not much else in it. Container wasn't full. Tasted old and burnt and like it was only vinegar. Onions in fried rice were not cooked. Sesame chicken was dry, overcooked, and tasteless. Fried rice also dry with no flavor. I had dinner here, maybe they're decent for lunch or dine in. I recently moved in down the street and was excited to have a Chinese spot right here, but I'll just skip it from now on. Waste of money.
Best Szechuan in town! I recommend Dining-in for the Szechuan/House Specialties dishes. They must be served hot on a plate, take-out containers don't do it justice!! I personally recommend the H22 boiled fresh fish filet, or the H4 bean curd fish filet. Their dumplings are great as well!
Golden City
Just ordered delivery for the first time and it was excellent. Everything was fresh and well made. The fried items were crisp but not the least bit greasy. The fried rice and lomein noodles were delicious. Will definitely be ordering from here again.
Food was absolutely exceptional. I asked for a hot and spicy beef. I asked what it came with and they told me. I asked them to make it very spicy and they didn’t disappoint. I was visiting the neighborhood but if I lived nearby I would visit regularly. I’m salivating just thinking about it. Good portion, good price, great taste.
小花园 Yuan Jersey City
The food is so good!!!! Best Chinese restaurant in JC! The paper wrapped fish, the beef, the appetizers, all so yummy. The service is impeccable too. Both times we were there, they were so friendly and helpful, even when my friend brought a 2 year old! My friends fall in love with this place too. Please keep up the good food and service.
Giving this place a conditional 5 star as it is still a soft opening. I will be coming back to try more of their dishes. Soup dumplings were good. Chongqing boiled fish and chicken were also quite flavorful. All were a bit shy of great but better than others in the area for these dishes.
Szechaun Mirchi Indo-Chinese Cuisine (Jersey City)
It’s a nice place to have something good in indo Chinese’s food. They have a lot of space at the restaurant and you can dine in upto 12-15 people. Have a good parking space. Food wise, soups are decent, salt is less and rice isn’t great. Noodle and appetizers are good.
We ordered chicken manchow soup, vegetable Wontons, chicken schezwan fried rice, vegetable balls in garlic sauce and vegetable hakka noodles. The wontons were crispy and tasty, fried rice and noodles were okay. The vegetable balls were okay but the sauce was disappointing as it was quite acidic. Overall, it is a good Indo chinese food restaurant if you are looking specifically on Indian street but there are better Chinese restaurants around the city.
Chen's Kitchen
I came to this restaurant many times, the food were all delicious and worth the price and time waiting. I really recommend the sesame chicken, it’s my favorite. The front desk lady is also nice, I made friends with her by just ordering twice, she even knows my usual (sesame chicken with white rice).
The food here is amazing. Especially their chicken black bean sauce, it’s a must order every time I come around. The front desk is also very patient, she always have a nice attitude.
