Forbidden City
Amazing! My boyfriend and I were so impressed with everything we ordered. The portions are huge and everything was delicious. Staff was really attentive and friendly. Definitely one of our new favorite places!
I've been here four times now and the food is very delicious! Today I got a little more than usual with the intent of having leftovers for tomorrow. I ordered the ribs appetizer even though I was like, $9.99 is a lot for an appetizer? And then it showed up and I realized why. The portion is big! I was asked if I wanted the appetizer (4 ribs) or the meal (6?8? ribs) and I am glad I asked for the appetizer because the portion is enough for 1 meal alone for me. My favorite thing to get is the honey shrimp dinner combo which comes with steamed rice (+$2 for fried rice), soup, and an egg roll. The beans with garlic are also very delicious and crispy. The ribs are very sweet. The portion sizes are large and the food is delicious, I highly recommend. There's a parking lot in the back, turning left into the restaurant is a little funky. Staff members are very patient and attentive. If you want to dine in, come 1hr before closing, as they stop seating then and only do take out for the hour.
Dough Zone Dumpling House Kent Station
Really love the clean aesthetic and music. They're quick to seat you and give you time to order. We ordered several appetizers and soups. Everything is served beautifully, and we enjoyed the food. Only thing is the beef noodle soup was way too salty! Everything else from the chicken dumplings, steamed pork buns, etc was delicious! 😋 I will return again. 😊
I was just too excited that Dough Zone was opening in Kent station, and happy I tired. Vegetarian options - Loved their Yi Bin and Dan Dan noodles. Dumplings have less stuffing so they are not puffy and looks small and more doughy. The place can get loud when busy, service can get better. I wish I could give them 5 stars like other Dough Zone locations.
Lucky House
We stopped by after picking up Megastar to go. We needed dumplings to pair with our roast pork and roast duck combo we had just ordered from Megastar. Thankfully they were across the street so we didn’t have to travel far. The restaurant was busy on a Sunday afternoon. The parking lot was almost full. I ordered the siu mai, steamed shrimp dumplings, steamed shrimp and chive dumplings, and the green beans with garlic. I paid $36 for everything. What a great price. The dumplings were all huge. The siu mai were a good three biter. The shrimp dumplings were smooth with chunks of shrimp. A simple yet delicious har gow. We also really enjoyed the shrimp and chive. These were made fresh , I had to wait a little longer for these to come out. Well worth it. The chive gave it a nice flavor. A good price for sizes. Also the green beans! A whole takeout container for $7 . The best garlic green beans I’ve had. You must try their chili oil as well! Not that spicy at all. I could finally douse my dumplings in a chili oil. Can’t wait to come back and try more dumplings.
Fast and friendly service. I appreciate the cart service dim sum, but I was a bit disappointed that the non-steamed dishes were somewhat cold and the dishes were pretty pricey.
Dragon Ball Restaurant
Great lunch combo options and great prices with large portions. I got a huge plate of delicious food that would have fed 2 people for $10. I also ordered the fried egg rolls and they were definitely a house-made variety, nice and crispy with abundant filling. I particularly found the pork egg fu yung freshly fried and tasty covered with a satisfying gravy. This appears to be a multi-generational family restaurant as there were babies, young kids, 30 somethings and elderly all hanging out off the clock mid afternoon on a weekday. It was lovely to see a thriving establishment with a family working together. Note on parking: I was asked to move my vehicle twice. I had parked backed up close to the building along the curb. I was warned that sometimes people drift through the gravel parking area and vehicles have been hit. I stayed put and took my chances. There were no deterrent signs posted. If you don't want people parking at the curb, please post signage or paint instructions on the building.
It's my first time eating at this restaurant. It's a good atmosphere, with lots of parking. The service was good. As for the food, I like the honey walnut prawns and the stir-fried mixed veggies with scallops. The egg rolls were hot and crispy. Give it a try and see if you like it.
Panda Express
We've gotten take out orders in the past and have always enjoyed the food, a family treat. Tonight we had the food delivered, and it was horrible. The chow mein was super dry and had no cabbage or anything in it. Even the kids refused to eat it because it was so dry. The broccoli and beef was okay but the broccoli was raw, hard, not sauteed enough to soften it. Maybe they were busy and rushed cooking, but tonight the food was a major disappointment. I really hope this was a fluke, maybe a new cook?
Just wrapped up dinner with some Rice, Noodles, and chicken! Panda always hits the spot for me! The service and staff were on point too! But now it's time to focus on eating healthier and sticking to a diet.
Tea Leaf 2
Absolutely worst Chinese food I've ever had!!!!! freezer burnt shrimp obviously thawed and Frozen multiple times and was stinky like fish. Rice was at least 3 days old, I've had better out of my refrigerator after a week. Egg rolls were hard as a rock, crab Rangoon are fishy and old. Ive had better at midnight from a gas station. All the orders of rice were packed into on box. The chow mein looks like dried spaghetti. I really hope we don't get sick.!!! I will never eat here again and I suggest no one else spend $100 hard earned money here. If I could give zero I would, honestly looks like last week's Safeway Chinese
This is literally the best Chinese food your family will ever have!! We have been coming here for over 25 years. Still the same owners, the same quality and great prices for the portion. I recommend the special beef and any of the appetizers! If you try it once it will most definitely become a regular spot for you.
Emperor's Palace Lacey
It had been some time since we had eaten here so we decided to stop and have dinner on our way home from errands. The first thing I noticed was the dining area was much more open than before and the floor was not overcrowded with tables, making it feel much more welcoming inside. We were greeted and seated almost immediately by the hostess. Our server came to the table with menus right away with menus and to ask if we cared for any beverages. The menu had changed radically since we were last there. Everything had been condensed to one large page. There were only two choices for a family dinner, starting with soup. We chose the $70 meal for two as it came with won ton soup and the appetizer platter. The other family dinner offered the soup of the day and no appetizer platter. The soup arrived first. Each had two large chicken won tons as opposed to the typical small ones I have typically seen in most Asian restaurants. They were well made and not soggy. The downside of the soup was lukewarm and too salty. I did not see our server until the appetizer platter arrived so we were unable to say something right away. I began to hope I had not made a bad dinner choice. Our appetizer platter arrived and it was loaded. Everything was hot and well made. There were 6 large shrimp in a light crispy coating, 2 delicate spring rolls, 4 large crab Rangoons and 6 barbecue pork along with a large bowl of sweet and sour sauce, and another bowl with the hot mustard, ketchup and sesame seeds. The appetizer was a meal all by itself. Then our dinner arrived. Sweet and sour pork, special fried rice, almond chicken, broccoli beef and cashew chicken. The serving plates were loaded. Everything was delicious, delicately made and hot. Our dinner did not disappoint! We were stuffed and still had plenty to take home. The soup was a bump in the road. I highly recommend this meal. We will definitely be back. The first picture is our meal minus the appetizer platter. The second picture is what we brought home.
I love Chinese food, and I had high expectations for this restaurant based on its review. I was completely disappointed. Overall, I found the food lacking any inspiration. Sweet and sour was oversized chunks of tough meat with way too much breading. The Chow Mein looked more like Lo Mein....but with no noodles, just bean sprouts. Honestly, I don't know what it was. The beef dishes were heavy on onion and lacking much meat. The fried rice was overcooked and mushy. It was $100 for dinner and we didn't keep the leftovers. My search for good Chinese food continues.
Main Chinese Buffet
The Main Buffet is pretty good. I definitely didn't experience anything majorly negative here at all. Don't listen to the two negative relatives on here. Service was pleasant, and we got sat quickly in New Years Eve afternoon. The good want is especially hot, but most I had was really good. I like their sushi because they were small rolls where you can enjoy a variety. The stuffed clams were really good. Overall, a good variety of food is offered with a large array of fruit and desserts. They even have a chocolate fountain. The coast is much less than other Chinese buffets in the area. Bathrooms were clean with several stalls, including a nice handicap stall. Overall, it's a solid 4 star. I would return again.
20/10 "The servers here actually like their jobs." My friend Plenty of eel at the sushi bar. I was so satisfied I had to take a moment to digest after my second plate. Great atmosphere, very clean and family friendly environment that left such a peaceful feeling, I know it will last in memories for time to come.
Harbor City Tacoma Restaurant
Everything was perfect. The food being delicious is one thing, but they also add tons upon tons more amount of food on your plate. You would think the food would be expensive with the quality and quantity of the dish, though it’s super duper cheap for how it is. $100 worth of food was enough to feed me and my family for dinner, tomorrow’s lunch, tomorrow’s dinner, and maybe the next next day’s lunch again. It’s incredible of the amount they give you. It’s such a steal. Customer service was amazing too. They’re super nice, helpful, and even funny lol. The atmosphere just felt as if everyone is enjoying their meal and it’s such a positive feeling being inside the restaurant. Please, give this restaurant a try, and enjoy !!
Great dimsum. No carts just order from menu. Old converted Mexican restaurant, medium small space. One big round table probably to seat 7. About 8 or 9 4-chair square tables. Love their dimsum, got the pork, fish and tofu pot good too. Salt pepper squid tasty.
Red Dragon Teriyaki Restaurant
Owners were super duper nice, and the prices are great. Unfortunately the chicken katsu was....not good. It was thin, dry and mostly breading. The spicy chicken was better. The tonkatsu sauce was just bottled teriyaki sauce. I hope they get better at making chicken katsu as I really want to go here again, their prices are incredible.
I am giving it 1 stars because the service was decent enough for takeout. The general tsao chicken was sweet, the rice had too much pepper and not enough flavor. The egg rolls were small bland, and flavorless. The gyoza were over cooked and bland.
Hong Kong Restaurant
I use to work in Tacoma in late 1990s and early 2000s and came here for lunch frequently. It was good food and great service then and still is now. I moved to Oregon in 2005 and have since moved back to Pierce County. Today, April 10, 2025, I came by for the lunch special - combination plate of sweet and sour pork, pork fried rice and almond chicken. It was delicious with plenty of food...I am taking some of it home for my dinner tonight. The staff members are awesome! It was the same enjoyable experience that I remember way back when! I will - for sure - be back! :)
The service and decor is amazing. It’s classic American Chinese restaurant. They were very kind to our Sox month old. Of what we ordered my favorite was the general tso chicken. It was very crisp. We got 8/10 spicy which I liked. Hot and sour soup was pretty good. Lots of veggies in it which was tasty though different. Crab Rangoon were pretty good. My wife got Mongolian beef which was too sweet for her. We also noticed an old Sue Kidd sticker. I’m curious to see her review. We’ll be back to try more menu items.
Wild Garlic Chinese Restaurant
Good Chinese dishes at optimal price. Their HK style sweet and sour pork tastes just right...not too sweet, not too sour... We heard their roast duck is one of the best, we need to try next time
We ordered steamed chicken, deep fried pork chop, stir fried rice noodle and water spinach. Very tasty! Recommend the chicken and the pork chop. They serve desserts and fortune cookies for free after the meal. The only drawback is the long waiting time because they only have 1 server.
