I have never been, but a neighborhood fan favorite, and I can see why. My husband actually liked the combo fried rice better than P. King. I got Happy Family, and egg rolls. Every thing was fresh, hot and tasty. We ate it next day and it held up well too. The shrimp they use are nice and fat. I would definitely order from here again.

Delicious! Affordable and the lunch special is the perfect deal! 100% recommended

This place never disappoints when it comes to halal Chinese food. The owner is very humble and the portion sizes are enough for two people. We had ordered to pick up and everything was nicely packed. A must visit place if you are craving for authentic Chinese food.

I’ve been here a couple of times cause a former boss would have me pick up the hot sour soup. My wife loves Taiwanese style noodles so we tried these, it was a lot of food for the price we paid and it was great. A lot of people place orders over the phone, the inside is kinda cramped. But this is probably the best Chinese food in the area, the beef and green beans were outstanding too. Tip the lady even if you pick up she is very sweet, I think this place is family owned it taste like it. I did ask for fried rice and they game me white, got charged an extra dollar too so that sucked, just check your order before you leave.

Absolutely incredible hole in the wall spot. The sautéed mixed vegetables was actually my favorite dish here. There was a good assortment of all my favorite veggies, and the sauce that it was cooked with was so savory and delicious. The pepper beef was cooked well and packed with incredible flavors from the bell peppers. As for the chili oil noodles, I’m very picky about them because some places can easily make them too greasy, sweet, sour, or salty… but the sauce was perfectly balanced in all aspects. The noodles had a wonderful bite to them, but I think it was more like one long noodle so be prepared to slurp and bite… I will definitely be coming back to try more dishes as I think I’ve found a new favorite!

The lamb soup is quite good. The broth is mellow, and the lamb is very tender. However, the Chinese burger didn’t appeal to me. It was too dry and salty. The restaurant could also benefit from a bit more cleanliness.

My cool factor went up just being here. Great atmosphere, great food, great service. Entrees come with egg roll and rice (steamed white or fried). The wings were some of the best I’ve had. The vegetables were still fresh and viable, even though cooked. The noodles were cooked perfectly. I’m a huge carbonated water fan and they have still and fizzy water taps. TAPS! I wasn’t a fan of the seating situation - low and high bar stools - especially since they don’t even have hooks to hang a purse. The murals and paintings - inside and outside - are beautiful. We chose this location because of a better parking situation. I’m sure all RBs are just as good as the experience off I-10.

I was planning to visit another branch of Rice Box, but when I heard that this location was opening today, I decided to wait and visit as soon as it opened. The exterior of the restaurant was spacious, and the parking lot was clean and well-maintained. Inside, the interior design was incredibly unique and eye-catching. From the moment I stepped in, the staff greeted me warmly. Among them, the manager, Dylan, stood out for being exceptionally friendly and providing a detailed explanation of the menu. I went with one of Dylan’s recommendations and thoroughly enjoyed it! The food was delicious, and the portion size was much larger than I expected, so I ended up taking some to-go. If I had to mention one minor downside, it’s that the food was a bit on the salty side. Overall, it was a great dining experience, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

Very nice and clean place with a lot of variety of dishes and one of the best Sahzwan noodles and chicken biryani i had in a while! Ahmed was fantastic and advised us good dishes when asked. Service was top-notch....just ask for Ahmed. Also, it stays open till 4 a.m. :)

This restaurant serves reheated frozen naan (bought outside) bread. The majority of their dishes are prepared from frozen and reheated ingredients, rather than being freshly made. Despite offering Indian cuisine, the flavors often lack authentic Indian taste. Please stay away from this place.

Original review follows, this is an update. We have been here enough now that I know what I like: the King Pao Chicken combo. I get the the eggroll and brown rice. I get a small bowl of wonton soup as well. They know me as well, and automatically bring the jar of hot chili oil. . This last visit featured lots of families with small children. We were the only ones without kids! It was nice to see well behaved youngsters. . We come back here because we very much enjoy it! . Original review: Jade Cafe has a large menu, but I always order Kung Pao Chicken on my first visit to a Chinese restaurant. That way, I have a standard basis for comparison. The version here was quite nice, neither too sweet nor too spicy. Service was prompt, as well. . My favorite, though, was the Won Ton Soup; it was among the most flavorful I've had. Delicious! It was our first time but not our last.

I stopped in today around lunch to order some food to go. I ordered the beef Szechuan and the beef with garlic sauce. The food was great… I’m hooked on the beef Szechuan now. I will definitely be back to enjoy the wonderful food.

This was the most disgusting beef and broccoli i have EVER experienced the flavor and the texture was off. As soon as it touched my tongue I gagged and threw the food away 🚮. Almost positive it wasn’t beef. The rice also wasn’t edible who up charges for brown rice ? Waste of $15

I stumbled across this spot by chance, and I’m so glad I did! While there are several locations around Houston, each is independently owned, and this one truly stands out. Years ago, my family and I had a favorite go-to near Almeda Mall, and it was our Friday night tradition. They served this incredible dish called Singapore Chicken or Shrimp, and we couldn’t get enough of it. Unfortunately, after Hurricane Harvey, that location closed, and I’ve been searching for that same unforgettable flavor ever since. After trying a few spots, I finally found the Westheimer location that had the dish! But the distance made it a rare treat. Then, to my surprise, I discovered this gem right off I-10, just minutes from my job. They call it Triple Spicy Chicken or Shrimp here, and let me tell you...it’s amazing! The spice level is just right (though I like to kick it up with extra hot oil and sriracha), and it’s served with broccoli and your choice of fried or white rice...I always go for white. Their portions are generous, the ingredients are fresh, and the service is top-notch. This location is small, with just a few tables for dining in, but the atmosphere is warm, and the staff treats every customer like family. I usually order to-go for office lunches or a quick dinner on my way home, and it never disappoints. If you’re in the area, don’t miss out on this spot! Give it a try and tell them this review sent you 😉

New owners, so its trash now. Didn’t have half the menu available and no online orders. Unintelligible over the phone overcomplicating the process and mistyped in the receipt to almost accidentally overcharge me. The Lo Mein is completely different from the original recipe, and it was made with spaghetti noodles. Rest in piece to a place that used to be amazing.

Customer service terrible. I called to place order and lady EVENTUALLY answered saying “Hello”. I wasn’t sure if I had dialed the right number. I ordered seafood rice and by the time I made it to the restaurant to pick up my order she remained on her call phone the whole time and said they don’t serve seafood rice anymore. Not sure why that wasn’t communicated when I placed the order?

So some stuff can be a little pricey like the sauce, however the entree price I think is reasonable for the quality. I really love the Chichen garlic with fried rice. It was delicious and very soft and juicy and my husband loves the wonton soup.

My favorite Chinese in the city! The sauces are divine and they don’t use heavy oils and will adjust spicing to order. Best rice in town! They have used them for take out since 1999 when they had another location on Wesleyan. I’ve glanced at the negative reviews about thick accents and poor communication which are seriously in poor taste. I have never had a miscommunication and I have used this restaurant for decades! They have catered for special events and teacher appreciation separately packed meals during covid! It’s a gem!

One of our favorite places for Indo Chinese food. The quantity is large for every dish that you get. We have always ordered online but visited once. The ambience is bright and vibrant. The service is fast and good. Our favorites include the manchow soup, tandoori chicken momos, hakka noodles and the manchurian.

I only try their chicken biryani (taken out)which was good and flavorful. The rice was perfectly cooked, aromatic, and infused with rich spices, while the boneless chicken was tender and well-marinated.

The food was good. the food met the price and had good service. in order, I think the foods that are best are: sweet-and-sour beef, chicken bao, tofu , flounder The ambience was quiet and formal. The one call is that the server does not know how to speak English.

A very authentic Guangzhou restaurant with good service! Chrysanthemum Pu‘er tea is amazing. The foods here are also very good. Dim-sum is very tasty too. The most recommended is Citi ginseng stewed chicken soup.. loll

The freshest ingredients for vegetarian food you can find anywhere in the area, most others use a lot of canned vegetables not here. The price is very reasonable for the flavors of cooking the chef provides. Excellent choice for healthy and satisfying food. I heard they’re closing soon because the landlord will not renew their lease but I hope they will open elsewhere otherwise I’ll be heartbroken. If you haven’t tried them, do so, this way you’ll know and remember what great vegetarian is supposed to be and thank me later!

I love the food here! Me and my brother visit on many occasions. It’s awesome and now the buffet (fully vegan) is $9.99 Monday through Friday. I love the bao buns with pumpkin or veggie, the vegan chicken balls, and the special dishes the chef seems to create a new dish each time you visit. I truly enjoy the simple kale salad and veggie rolls. Everything is so good!
