Good Luck Chinese Restaurant
HORRIBLE! We ordered a special fried rice (chicken beef and shrimp), Hakka chow mein, and Deep fried chicken wings. Both the rice and chow mein was brought to us like it was reheated from the day before . The food was STALE AF and really SALTY. As for the chicken wings, oh god. It was like taken out of a frozen box and over cooked in an air fryer. The wings were NOT FRESH WINGS! Nor was any of the food! This, hands down, was the WORST FOOD IVE EVER HAD! When we told the server about the food, she kept yelling at us like we did something wrong and she kept talking in her language. As soon we step foot into this restaurant it was DISGUSTING! Previous customers who had ate there, all their used plates and utensils were all left there on the tables. There wasn’t one table that was clean and ready for other customers. When we told her we needed a table for 2 she told us to hold on because she was busy watching her country music videos. She had on this pair of blue gloves that she used to clean the table with and to serve us our food with. She was the WORST waitress ever! She even started arguing with us, telling us that all her customers love their food and never complain. If I was any of you, I would NEVER EAT at this place EVER!
Called ahead and placed my order, the lady over the phone confirmed the price and that there was %10 off cash orders. I show up and wait 20 minutes for someone to come out and help me, I knocked on the counter, said excuse me, and called the store 5 times and no one answered, there might as well have been no one else in the store. Finally I get served and told my food is $50, not the price I was quoted on the phone and that the %10 off cash is not offered anymore, even though there was 3 signs in the store that stated that rule very clearly. Owner had no apologies, refused to honour the sign, and told me she had no intentions of taking the sign down even though it was no longer valid. Very rude and disappointing. Also considering what we paid, the food was lukewarm and not fresh, I had to reheat it in the microwave. Not even good quality food.
Hakka Legend Asian Cuisine
This is one of my most go to place for Indio-Chinese style cuisine. Really great service and food is super in terms of taste and value for money. The quality and quantity is also something that’s come along with reasonable pricing. Loved the place, food and atmosphere here. Great for family gatherings and dinner nights. Easily accessible locations across Greater Toronto Area.
Let's keep it 💯! You're coming here for the food - and if that's the case don't worry about the overall rating. While the service is ok and the environment is average - the food is still great 🔥 We had the: ✅ house special fried rice ✅ chilli chicken ✅ crispy ginger beef Everything was good as core hakka food needs. The beef was a bit chewy on some pieces, but overall flavourful. The prices are affordable and the food was good so you should definitely give it a try, enjoy!
Super Hakka Restaurant
We ordered chilly chicken with Hakka noodles , Bombay chicken with egg fried rice, spicy garlic fish with egg fried rice, Szechuan noodles veg and spicy panner with veg fried rice. Everything tasted same. Everything was salty and oily, spicy gravies were not spicy at all. Bombay chicken was deep fried mostly batter and chewy dry. We were hungry but still couldn’t eat due the awful and overly salty taste. I don’t know why such great reviews based on taste as even the fried rice didn’t taste good. The quantities are huge as you can see in picture. So if the quantity matters to you then you can go but I won’t suggest this place to anyone. Also there is a mandatory 10% tip which you will not feel like paying after getting so bad food. At last we ordered a packaged coke and it was the only thing that tasted good. If you are looking for Indian kind of Hakka food this is not the place.
I recently dined at Super Hakka Restaurant and had a mixed experience. I ordered the Chilli Garlic Mussels, Chicken Pakoras, and Chicken Rice. While I personally didn't enjoy the mussels, the Chicken Pakoras and Chicken Rice were excellent and definitely worth trying. I've been a regular at this restaurant and have consistently found their food and customer service to be top-notch. The 10% gratuity charge is communicated upfront, which I appreciate for its transparency. The restaurant also offers private dining rooms, adding a nice touch to the dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend Super Hakka Restaurant for its quality food and excellent service.
Manchu Wok
Disgusting food!!! Ordered $30 worth of food for myself, and it was utterly tasteless. I ordered Pick 3 with rice and a side of corn. The rice was old and tasteless. The spicy chicken was not spicy and was spongy. The spicy beef was okay. But the corn was disgusting!!! It was old canned corn with frozen peas and carrots. It wasn’t sweet nor salty/sour. It was oily which shouldn’t have been the case. DON’T EAT HERE!!!
They said food will be spicy but it's not spicy at all. rice was good rest are just a garbage i would say.
Pepper Hakka & Thai Cuisine
I stopped in here for lunch with my aunt and uncle recently. They had been here before and said it was good. Unfortunately, I have to disagree. We ordered from their lunch specials menu - Beef with Tomatoes, Chicken with Vegetables, and Manchurian Beef. A bowl of Hot and Sour Soup was included with each meal. Two of us opted for an egg roll while my uncle chose a can of pop, also included. The soup arrived quickly and was steaming hot. It was definitely more on the sour side, with a strong flavour of cilantro. Our main course appeared shortly after, all steaming hot. My uncle had requested extra gravy with his beef and tomato dish but it was virtually swimming in gravy. My aunt's chicken dish had lots of vegetables, not so much chicken. My Manchurian beef dish had a lot of dark soy sauce heavy gravy. This was very different from anywhere else I've had this dish, and not in a good way. It was obvious to me that all these dishes were cooked in a vessel that was not hot enough. There was no caramelization on any of the food, therefore lacking flavour. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant.
I went to this restaurant called "Pepper Hakka & Thai Cuisine" and I tasted the delicious "hakka noodles with beef", a succulent dish called "Pla Tod Spice Fish" with bamboo and a traditional thai dish "chicken chow mein" ultra spicy (it make me sweat and cry, haha). I liked so much the food, it was delicious, hot and ready. The portions are very generous. The service is very good, they are so kind and they sure everything is great. They have a lot of vegetarian options too! We ordered some thai noodles with vegetables and a hot seafood soup. Specially thanks to Manu for all his atentions.
Eight Noodles Chinese Cuisine
Well, we stopped at this please because a friend’s recommendation. If you are not Chinese make sure you understand what you are ordering, because the menu doesn’t provide enough details about the food you are ordering. I was disappointed for what I order but honestly it was tasty, the portions of the food are very generous so the prices is worth it. The day we went many seats were dirty, it was one person cleaning and serving so that might make everything slow in a busy days.
Delicious food with big portions at a very fair price! Met the owner who served us and chatted with us for a bit. A lovely and hardworking man.
Shirley's Restaurant
I have to write this as I had enough. Needless to say I will never go back. My friend likes to buy a round or 2 for everyone and that’s fine. 1st bill, paid, 2nd bill was more than 1st bill and we know the 2nd bill should be smaller as there was no food on the 2nd bill and bought less for others. Fine. Calculation was wrong, so recalculated and apologizing would have been sufficient, but the owners wouldn’t admit it was wrong. So I went back to the 1st bill to double check as that had a machine printout to compare to the handwritten note. There was 2 extra beer charges, where did they come from? Adding the food, alcohol and then the taxes, did not match the total of what the machine said. Machine added $15 more to the bill so that’s more than 15% of the bill, but it doesn’t have a line item for this extra $15. If you want tips, you need to make it visible on the bill otherwise it’s cheating. Don’t tell other people that we didn’t give tips after we’ve left when it was added to the bill already. Don’t say you don’t know what the machine did, you own the business so you have to know if your machine is charging properly. Otherwise legal action can be taken against the business. Whoever wants to go for food, it’s still good food, but I wouldn’t stay in the restaurant. The women’s washroom is horrendous. Spider webs hanging down low at 3 corners of the washroom, had to avoid the webs to wash my hands, ceiling paint falling off, the whole washroom smelled of extreme mould, that has to be a health hazard. Spicy chicken with pork fried rice combo was good so that’s why I still gave 5 stars for the food, but will not visit again due to other problems.
I absolutely love Shirley's. The food is excellent and Annie is so sweet. I have to voice my disappointment in the last ladies' comments. They are totally unwarranted as I was there that night. Her friend did buy several rounds, boasting the whole time how "rich" he was but my friend and I were excluded. Not that I care, I don't know him from Adam and can more than enough afford to buy my own but just to say.. he was showboating for sure. Oddly enough, I also notice she didn't post the second bill.. which was by the way much less than the first. I know this because I saw it myself. This manl and "LADY' Charlene were totally in the wrong, did not pay attention to how much they were ordering and I find it so wrong that they are laying the blame for their oversight in the first place.
Federick Restaurant
Great food. Great price. Not so happy either customer service. Felt like they just want to finish their job and wait for us to get out of the restaurant. And they recently added a percentage of the final bill as tip. Didn’t felt it right. But the food is amazing. Quantity is good. Price is good.
The place is small but enough tables. Ordered several dishes to try. I was looking forward to their hakka chow mein as I’ve enjoyed it at other places but it did not reach the level I wanted. The noodles are different from what I have tried (too soft) and the entire dish was bland. The mixed pakora which came with chicken, shrimps and fish had flavour but found some parts of the batter to be on the harder side to bite through. The chili fish was too heavily sauced. The dish came with a bowl of regular steamed rice. Ordered Manchurian fried rice to be on the wetter side and was not as good as I had hoped. The only item that added flavour to all the food was the vinegar with sliced fresh chilis they had in a jar. We also ordered spicy fried calamari and the texture was good but the batter was not the best. I was looking forward to trying the food at this place as it was recommended but it did not meet my expectations. It lacked quality and execution. They do ,however, give plenty of portions and fair prices. Service was also good. Food here just need more attention with the flavour and texture of the food.
Perfect Chinese Restaurant
My friend and I went here last night and we had a good service and the majority of the menu was affordable. Start with our server’s name Alfred. Our server is very attentive, and friendly, has a sense of humour, and also he made recommendations. Alfred suggested that we try the red bean dessert soup and in my opinion, I thought the taste was good and just the right sweetness to it. The food we ordered was delicious. It’s full of flavour. I thought the service was fast and accurate. As for the restaurant ambience, it’s clean and simple decor but the chandelier/lighting it’s too bright for me. Overall my friend and I had a positive experience visiting this restaurant.
Opens 24 hours with dim sum and private room for karaoke? Yes, please! We came here as a large group of 24, and we ordered a la carte. The portions were huge, and we were so stuffed at the end of our meal. There is a minimum order for each private room, ours even had another room for mahjong and a private washroom too. The service was friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed our time at Perfect Chinese Restaurant!
Starlite Family Restaurant
By far the best Guyanese Chinese Restaurant in The Scarborough Area if not Toronto. Consistently good, hot fresh food. Pepper Shrimp is Tops.Starlite Fried Rice is Delicious 😋. Great Staff. Highly Recommended. Love the Wiri Wiri Pepper sauce.
If you're in Scarborough and craving some good ole Guyanese/Chinese home cooking, I'd recommend this little restaurant. Good selection of tasty dishes, made fresh with lots of flavor and spice. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Drop by when you're hungry or thirsty.
Li’s Hakka #1 Restaurant
I went here with my partner since she liked the food the first time she went in there. I agree that the food was good and the staff is helpful as well. The only concern that I had is the place when we went there was dirty and i don’t mind tipping but it has 12% charged already and then they are gonna ask for more tip.
This hakka style Chinese restaurant offers a variety of food options. The teste of the food is not super delicious, but certainly will not disappoint. We liked the hot and sour soup the most. The spicy garlic chicken was too salty. But they immediately replaced the dish once notified. The service was quick and pleasant, and they have a welcoming atmosphere.
Hakka No. 1
Want a place to hang out and eat delicious food? Give Hakka a try. Very clean place, big menu, small bar, affordable and wonderful service. Plates have a very good portion. It's a great place to come and share with family or friends. Definitely coming back ;)
I love their food. I have been going to them since 2019. Andy was amazing. Food is delicious and fresh. You can dine at the place. Ample parking and TV to watch as well. Guyanese special, general Tao chicken, chicken pakora is my go to food.
