Midtown Chinese
A hidden gem. This is where Chinese people go to get their fix of real Chinese food.
Chung Moi Chinese Restaurant
Incredible Hakka dishes & warm hospitality! As someone who’s grown up on Hakka food in Toronto, I can easily say this is among the best. The chilli chicken was the best I’ve ever had—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Another massive standout was the shrimp toast, easily one of the best dishes I’ve ever tasted (pictured is 3 out of the 6, as my wife and I couldn't stop eating them). The owner’s hospitality made the experience even better; she was warm, funny, and made sure we were well taken care of. If you’re craving top-notch Hakka cuisine, this place should be your next stop.
A hidden gem of a Hakka place is right. Owners are Hakka and have been running the restaurant for 27 years. Solid value for money with huge portions. Can't ask for more. Fried rice and chili chicken platter for one can easily feed 2. Shrimp toast was excellent as well but a bit pricier.
Royal Congee Chinese Cuisine
I came here with my bf and I had an incredible dining experience at this restaurant! Every dish was made fresh and bursting with flavor, and I could really taste the love in every bite. The service was equally impressive! friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. All around, it was a fantastic experience. Highly recommend!!
The most comforting, delicious Chinese food. Great prices and great portions. It’s family run and they have quick service with a wonderful attitude. No angry Chinese ladies here (no shade to them ladies though). We come here about 2-3 times a month. It’s consistently great. We order enough for leftovers too because it’s so good. Come support the local business so they stay around for a long time!
Su-Good Chinese Restaurant
Solid 4/5 Firstly. The owner is very friendly and extremely patient with me struggling through the menu. The Order - Beef and Broccoli - Honey Garlic Spare Ribs - General Tao Chicken - Crispy Beef - Chicken Fried Rice (Free when you spend $50) The Beef and Broccoli was almost the best I’ve ever had. The beef was very tender, broccoli had a nice bite, sauce was the perfect consistency and the ratios were perfect (no skimping on the protein). Unfortunately, the dish was too salty. I’m from the Caribbean, and we like well seasoned and salted dishes, but this peaked that threshold. The Honey Garlic Spare ribs. Cooked to perfection. I was expecting the typical chewy, fight to get it off the bone type of spare rib, but these spare ribs were tender, held their form… must be slow cooked and braised. Delicious. I don’t have anything negative to say. I’m not a fan of honey garlic, but this dish got smashed. The General Tao Chicken was what I expected. If I had one critique… maybe a bit more saucy, but that’s really subjective. The Crispy Beef was good, tender, sought after. It’s not Hakka, but I’m ordering it again and again. Ok. So all of these dishes are rich with flavour and you need a good foundation to balance your tastebuds. Fried rice is just adding more complexity, so I highly recommend getting a steamed rice. The fried rice was ok. It was free and we ate it all so not going to complain. I wouldn’t order it on its own. Adding this spot to the rotation, it’s So Good!
Best Chinese food in the city! Food is always fresh, delicious and always ready when I order. Customer service is amazing and so welcoming 10 out of 10 would recommend. Favourite dish is the general tso chicken
Tim Choi's Chinese Food
Ordered through Uber 20 minutes before they closed. Absolutely amazing! I was seriously expecting sub par late night Uber food. We ordered enough for 6 hungry people and the food was great. I drive by this place all the time and would never go in considering where it’s located. My loss. Please do not judge this book by its cover. We will be back!
If you didn't know about this place you would drive right by it. Prices and portion sizes are great especially for hungry students in the area. Sweet & sour spare ribs, chicken fried rice chop suey and 3 mini egg rolls. I truly enjoyed my dinner yesterday and will go back later in the week to try another combo.
Chopstick Foods
Fresh, tasty! Fast delivery. Very happy. Will order again ! Nothing was overly salty, loved everything I ordered. Beef Fried Rice and Cantonese Chow Mein. Prices are good, and the food portions are SO much, always have leftovers. The chicken balls have a good ratio of chicken to ball, lol! And I just love the box it comes in, reminds me of the movies. 🤦🏾♀️ I usually stick to one Chinese place at a time. And this is my go to right now.
Delivery was very fast and driver was pleasant. Sadly I tried this restaurant due to good reviews and found the food lacking. The egg rolls literally dripped with grease which surprised me. The beef and broccoli had old broccoli used so looked and tasted unappetizing. Very disappointed. Portions were normal. Upon looking at other reviews it seems hit or miss here.
Hot Wok Restaurant
I love coming here! Always great service and the owner is so friendly. Everything is delicious here. And service is fast and the can accommodate to your liking.
"I recently had the Hakka Chinese Indian-style noodles, and they were absolutely delicious! The perfect level of spiciness gave the dish a great kick without being overwhelming. The noodles were well-cooked, and the flavors were bold and satisfying. On top of that, the customer service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and quick to respond. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy flavorful noodles with great service!"
Panda Wok
The best hot and sour soup around! Their chicken and shrimp version is a must-try. Perfect balance of heat and flavor.
Not the tastiest but good deal and portion. Schezwan fried rice had egg pieces in it! Taste : not bad Items ordered : Bombay chicken, Fried vegetables and Schezwan veg rice.
Wok and Fortune Family Restaurant
One of our Go to cheap eats! Really really good price and food is amazing! We always order the lunch special Lemon Chicken w/ fried rice. For less than $10 you get a drink and a side with it! My other usual dish is Beef eggplant in garlic sauce, crispy scallops. Will come back for more!
SUPER DELICIOUS food. We just got take-out (currently no dine-in service): 19. Guyana Chicken Fried Rice 22. Guyana Chicken Lo Mein 62. Eggplant and garlic sauce 68. Sweet & sour chicken 108. Salty Pepper Fish Filet 109. Salted Pepper Seafood Delighr (Shrimp, Squid & Fish Filet) Every dish was well seasoned, freshly made and portions were huge. You get 10% off when you pay cash and everything was under $85! (A miracle in 2024 for so much tasty food.) Service was efficient. We will definitely be back. Right now, going to lie down because we ate so much. Thank you!
China Work Restaurant
Ordered here once before last year, all good.Decided to order the dinner for 2 plus a won ton soup. All I can say was it was super delicious, great portions, and vegetables not over cooked! Thank you for our great New Years Eve dinner!Cheers
My order was a very simple order and yet I could not be more disappointed, the chicken balls were like rocks and the rice was rice no flavor at all... Whatever happened to golden brown? 90% of the food is in my fridge still waiting for my green butt to feel better so I can deliver to my neighborhood racoons.
Wong's Asian Cuisine
Hi, The place is a decent Hakka Place and you can tell the food was made from fresh. It is a bit older plaza (not the restaurants fault) and the parking could get tricky but when we went there was not too many people. The washrooms were okay and the owner absolutely does care about the food he puts out. The dishes are a bit on the outdated side but i must say the prices were quite fair for what you get. I would go back as a plan B but Scarborough has some pretty good food choices. The server was extra friendly and went out of her way to please the us.
Had got a reco for this place and for a long time and finally made it. The plaza is busy and very hard to get parking. The bathroom is not good so avoid. The service is really good and they can make adjustments to a dish if you need to. The prices are reasonable and serving sizes are good. The interior is clean but probably has stayed like this for a couple of decades at least. The Hot and Sour Soup - medium size was good for three. Good flavour, nice balance of spice, sourness, seasonings. The Manchurian Pakora with gravy was good. The gravy perfectly spiced with garlic and chillies. The pakoras could have been more crunchy. The Hakka Chowmein not greasy. Fair amount of veggies and not too spicy. The Tofu Chilli was very good as well. Less spicy than it should be. The fried rice was pretty good as well. Not greasy and not too spicy. Also had fairly good veggies. All dishes vegan and enjoyable. Only if this place was close to home. Would come back regularly
Hakka Khazana Restaurant Scarborough
For the price you're paying, the food here is pretty average. The restaurant itself may not seem very inviting, but it actually smells really good inside, and the food you order arrives quick. If you're looking for cheap, quick eats, this is a great Hakka fusion restaurant. I personally would not go again, but I'd recommend you to try it at least once and see if you like it.
Great service! Awesome location with ample space for the whole family. Never tried masala fries like this one! I definitely recommend it. All the food we ordered was delish!
