New Wings Kitchen
We were in like after 9pm (9:05pm i think) before their 9:30 pm closing time. We were asking if they still accept dine in, the lady owner is nice and still welcomes us. I usually won't dine in when it is about any restaurant's closing time, but my friend and i were so hungry. Excellent food and the owner is very nice, thank you so much!
Best authentic Cantonese restaurant in town! The photos are the customized dishes we ordered for a family gathering. “House Empress Chicken” on the menu is the most popular and my favorite.
Ding Ho
Awesome cash only spot on the edge of Chinatown! Quality and price cannot disappoint, got the combo noodle and fried rice with curry chicken and braised chicken, and steamed flat rice noodle. Yummy and not oily. So good, the humble and delicious rice noodle is fluffy and fresh, the best I’ve had in Boston. Owner very nice. Next time I want to try the hot and sour soup!
CASH ONLY!! My plate costed me $8, options seems like it’s the exact same as prior reviews. Onion chicken, curry chicken, boiled broccoli, tofu. Food was okay, you can easily make it at home. Chase bank right across the street to take out cash.
BOS' SiChuan Taste一碟川菜馆
Casual modern Sichuan fare with underrated hits. Stopped by a couple times for quick lunches, and while they’re not as busy as it once was (especially with Mountain House around the corner), the food here still beats most Sichuan spots I’ve been in the city. Clean space, solid service, and no misses. My favorites so far were the Braised pork elbow and the Beef brisket noodles. The pork elbow was like a warm, heartier version of the garlic pork appetizer—slightly fattier, but the chili flakes on the side added a sweet-spicy kick that balanced it perfectly. As for the noodles, the shoyu-style broth was light yet savory, with tender brisket and perfectly al dente noodles. Simple, comforting, and well-executed. I also tried two lunch specials, both decent but with minor quirks. The potato grilled pork ribs donburi had well-seasoned ribs paired with braised vegetables—flavorful, though the bone cuts were a bit awkward (watch out for sharp edges). The "halibut rice" was misleading—no fish, just braised pork belly in a soy-BBQ sauce. Still tasty over rice. The prices here aren’t exactly budget-friendly, but I would occasionally come back for that braised pork elbow.
The service is really good. They had option of hot sweetened soy milk as complimentary drinks, which goes well with the spicy dishes. The sweet duck was crispy on the skin, the lotus roots and celtuce are fresh and delicious. Would recommend reserve in advance, as it gets quite busy during the weekend.
Friendship BBQ Boston
Just arrived in Boston and decided to take a walk through Chinatown, and just happened to stumble across this spot. It was located downstairs in an unassuming building and peeked my curiosity. When we entered, we knew immediately that we'd found dinner for the night. The food was amazing, and the staff was very friendly. Every table was full, but the service was fast and efficient.
Seafood boil for 2 was delicious, order a side of rice or something else.... Left a bit hungry...but the taste was terrific. Piping hot and super fresh.
China Gourmet Restaurant
I took note of this place from an "Eat Your Way Through Chinatown"-type of article. The recommended dishes in said article were the fried chicken with chilis and the Pig's feet soup. Of the two dishes I tried the Golden Pig's Trotter dish, as I like to try weird stuff. It was a little intimidating to eat, but it was really good, and you got a large portion for a reasonable price. I would order it again, and I plan to go back to try the chicken dish sometime.
Amazing food, me and 3 friends went out to eat here and had an great time. The staff were also extremely nice when we had a card related issue and needed a moment to sort it out. Highly recommend their mini pork dumplings. There was a decent amount of drink options but all pretty standard stuff that were in bottles or cans.
New Golden Gate Seafood
Lunch specials here are okay for the price. They are definitely more affordable than most for the amount you get. Definitely worth checking out for a quick lunch, just remember to bring cash.
Best value in Chinatown. Specially on their lunch specials. Both service and food were very good. Must order their House Roast Beef. It look more like a steak either their house sauce on top. Most tasty, tender steak I had for a long time. Even better than most steakhouses for only $24.95
Dumpling Kingdom
One of my favorite spots in Allston for lunch specials. Been coming here for lunch whenever I’m running errands in the area. While trendy new Chinese restaurants are constantly popping up in Allston, Dumpling Kingdom offers classic Chinese lunch specials that transport me back to simpler times. Forget the flashy newcomers. This unassuming restaurant consistently satisfies my cravings at unbeatable prices. Their lunch specials feature over 20 items, each accompanied by a complimentary side of egg drop soup and white rice. Some of my favorites include the Mala Spicy Flounder Fillet and Twice Cooked Pork. The flounder fillet, with its perfect balance of heat and tender meat, is one of the best I've had in Boston. Other dishes I've tried, like Beef with Scallions, Salt and Pepper Pork Chops, and Taiwanese Pork Belly, were also solid. I've also tried two of their dumplings and particularly enjoyed the Mini Juicy Buns with Pork & Crabmeat. While the umami of the fillings wasn't completely satisfying, these buns were packed with a good amount of pork juice—so much so that my first bite splashed all over my shirt. Despite this amazing lunch special deal, the restaurant doesn’t get crowded during lunchtime, so I highly recommend giving them a try.
I’m convinced this place has the best juicy buns in the entire city. We always sort of saw this as a takeout place but today we were in the area and stopped by to dine in and honestly? The food was even better. Everything tasted fresh and had a nice presentation. The service is quick and this place continues to hit the spot. Love you DK❤️
P.F. Chang's
I loved the decor of this restaurant. The service is fast and the amount of food for the price seems good to me. The food was good and tasted good. We ordered some juices that were delicious. The only thing I didn't like about the place was that the waiter gave us the bill before we finished eating, which seemed disrespectful to me because he didn't ask if we wanted anything else. As a tourist, I would go back to this place to eat.
The server was really nice. Bbq pork spare ribs awesome. Orange chicken did not like that much. The fried coating was too thick. Mangolian beef was tasty. There was a pineapple litchi based drink which was really good. Did not like a Great Wall of chocolate(looks awesome in picture). Needed something more to balance the bitterness of dark chocolate
Hong Kong 888 Cafe
On a cold night in Rosindale I ventured into a small takeout spot. Friendly service, nice portion sizes, not much of a sit-down dining area, but happy they offered and they had some books to read while you wait. I had the Beef Lo Mein and a side of Crab Rangoon, fast service, price was decent, and food was good!
I haven't been here in a while and decided to take the drive and get some dinner. I ordered over the phone two dinner plates. It came up to $34.24, I thought that was pretty expensive but hey, inflation is real! I picked up the food, got home, and opened the first plate....oh wowww!!!! That's a little of bit of ribs on the plate. I proceeded to open the second plate, to witness ONE CHICKEN WING on the plate! ONE! I told the lady I'd be back but after witnessing the two plates I purchased for $35 and one wing....hell no!
Yang's Dumplings
Made an order of tofu and mushroom as well as shrimp. We were out of the delivery zone (make sure to check!) but able to coordinate via email a time to meet with them at the kitchen and pick up, which we really appreciated! The dumplings were absolutely perfect. Stuffed generously, beautifully pleated, and delicious. Dumplings were in separate trays so no confusion for vegetarians. They were the first food to go at our party and I would highly recommend Yang’s to everyone!
Ordered for a party, the dumplings were delicious, hot, and the ingredients tasted fresh. I thought the wrappers were the perfect thickness. The vegetarian dumplings are my favorite vegetarian dumplings I've had in Boston and unlike any I've had before! The dipping sauce was extremely delicious, I think it was a combo of soy sauce, mirin and sesame oil. The chicken dumplings were the most popular. I think they could be a little more responsive to e-mail, but the man who delivered them was extremely sweet and called the night before to confirm the delivery time and called again to confirm when he was 20mins away.
Asian Thai
Ordered today and the food was awful and I’m a 10 plus year customer. Rice was sticky and tasted bad. Who makes Chinese food with sticky rice smh. Food was better before my favorite employee left now i have to find a new spot.
This place use to be good when the previous woman owned it. She was so nice. The people that own it now " are out to lunch". They suck. I guess that's why the reviews I read are from the time when she owned it. Service sucks, cleanliness sucks, price sucks... They suck!!!
Asian Garden Restaurant
I got some takeout from here through GrubHub. The order was ready promptly when I got there to pick up. I had ordered some noodles with broccoli and beef. It tasted good but the noodles were not what I was expecting at all. They tasted better when I ate the rest for leftovers the next day. The crab rangoons were great!
This is a great Chinese seafood restaurant! I look forward to trying more of the menu next time.
