Some of THE best Chinese food we've ever had. We had to go two times in order to try most of the things that caught our attention. Every dish was very flavorful and delicious in its own way. Our favorite small dish was the pork and chive dumplings. These were actually the best, most perfectly executed dumplings I've ever had in my life. The exterior had a pleasing crunch at the bottom, and the interior was packed with perfectly seasoned pork and chives —all of which was elevated to the max with the most pleasing savory dipping sauce. We had to get it on both of our visits. Another personal favorite was the char siu chow fun. That dish packs a fist full of flavor right to the taste buds that leaves you wanting more. The pork was so tender and carried some of the best flavor it could have, reminiscent of chinese sausage but with actual pork. Lastly, the creme caramel dessert was a clear standout —think banana creme Brule mixed with lecheflan. It came with a piece of sesame toffee that paired extremely well with all the flavors. Creative and divine. The staff was consistently kind and welcoming, and the space had a great ambiance. This tasty little spot more than satisfies any cravings for excellent Chinese cuisine. We'll definitely be back to try even more things!
Want to have a mind blowing, flavor explosion experience? You are in the right place! EVERYTHING we ordered was 10/10. If I had to rank my favorites it would be like this: 1°:pork chive dumpling/ mussels (hard to pick the best between these two); 2°Bao buns; 3° glazed carrots and last but not least spring roll. Our server, Antonio, complemented what was already a terrific experience by giving us tips on the menu and bringing great energy. Will definitely be back!
Lucky Boston Chinese
First time in this place and last time unfortunately. Restaurant looks like a large Jail cell when you walk in. The lady that came in before was bringing her food 🥘 back because they gave her pork 🐖 fried rice instead of shrimp fried rice and the cashier 💰 seemed to have an attitude 😒 about rudely kind of snatching the bag back. Took a while ⏰ for me to actually order maybe 10 plus minutes. I ordered shrimp fried rice 🍚 , wings 🍗 , and veggies 🥗 . Took about 15 minutes. The chicken was good. The rice was tasteless no flavor at all the shrimp 🍤 were the smallest I’ve ever seen. Definitely not a hidden gem.
I just placed a pickup order for specific verbatim order of0- "#19 combination plate beef/broccoli with chicken wing & boneless rib" from their listed menu on: LuckyBostonChinese.com for $11.50, website says menu last updated 2017. I was very specific because I know how to order Chinese food I we The phone so there's no problem: say number and item name specific. What a rip off The woman who took the order over the phone asked me if I wanted pork fried rice or white rice, then charged me $11.75 for pork fried rice which a quarter isn't the concern. When I returned home with the order it's just a container of pork fried rice with boneless rib strips and bag of three wings. I called them back as I'm two miles away and my friend who drove me went home. She said she's not associated with the menu on website listed above and doesn't know where it came from. Total scam, she stated I never said anything about beef or broccoli and she is not associated with that menu on the website that has same name as business on there google maps listing. She said return it and she'll charge me $16.75 for correct order, I asked for a delivery driver to do the switch and she just says 'no sorry no delivery driver'. Hangs up the phone Don't eat or order from here if you haven't before, total nonsense bs saying they have nothing to do with their own menu, won't refund or correct. Photos attached
Mandarin House
The General Tso's chicken is absolutely wonderful there's plenty of meat within the chicken itself and all their other options are really great too especially the number six: the Fried Chicken in plantains, you should totally come here sometime it's cash only but it's totally worth it!
I used to come here all the time as a kid haha! I recently passed by the other day and everything taste the same :) I love that. My favorite are the chicken wings, fried banana land pork fried rice💜 No they don’t usually have parking but the food is fire 🔥
Spring Shanghai Pan-Fried Buns
On a windy day, it's harder to open the door and get all your food chilled as people walk in and out...they do have outdoor seating for better weather days. Shanghai fried buns are the specialty here, and from a Shanghai visitor, they're pretty authentic, thin-skinned, a lot of juice, and crispy bottoms. The scallion oil noodles are good on their own, and the pork chop left something to be desired and don't add much to the main dish as it didn't match the flavor well (the minced spicy pork came out cold - was better when they warmed it up on the wok). Self-bus the tables.
My new favorite spot for a casual Chinese takeout. Heard so many good things about this place, and I finally got to try their takeout. Although there are so many good fast-casual wonton and noodle spots popping up, this one had the best deal for the price. More importantly, nearly everything I’ve tried from the menu was excellent. Favorites: Pan Fried buns, Chili Oil Wonton, Braised Pork Chop Noodles Solid: Scallion Oil Noodles, Shanghai Cold Wonton, Spicy Minced Pork Noodles Their signature Shanghai Pan-fried buns were definitely my favorites—crispy bottoms, juicy fillings, and packed with flavor. Even without much experience with pan-fried buns, I could tell these were something special. The Chili Wontons, too, were really good with the right balance of acidity and savoriness. Then, the Braised Pork Chop Noodles. Despite the pork chop getting a bit soggy in the soup, it was oddly satisfying—tender, flavorful, and retaining its rich marinade. The Spicy Minced Pork Noodles, while milder in seasoning, were still comforting and enjoyable.

BEST CHINESE RESTAURANT IN BOSTON. The food portions are decent, the prices are decent, and the food is INCREDIBLE. Tasting incredibly flavorful, fresh, and delicious. We ordered so much food and every dish hit the spot. My favourites are the spicy beef, the fish in sour spicy soup (酸辣汤, this one a tiny bit too salty though), and the spicy cumin lamb (司岚羊肉). I highly recommend these dishes and this restaurant. You really can’t go wrong. If you like spice, the spice here ain’t bad at all (honestly wish it was spicier).
This is hands down one of the best authentic Chinese restaurants I’ve ever experienced. Every dish we ordered was exceptional, with perfect seasoning and bold flavors. The cauliflower cooked with pork was a standout, the spicy fish fillet had the perfect balance of heat, and the clam and winter melon soup might just be the best Chinese soup I’ve ever had. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
Lucky Cafe
Do you like noodles? Order M21 and you receive a hefty container full of freshly wok-stir fried rice noodles with a generous amount of tender shredded chicken and vegetables. M21 is the answer.
Like others have said, great food for the price. The roast pork with crispy skin is great lunch special is great and one of the better options. They also sell soy sauce marinated duck feet, which are amazing when re steamed the next day. But this is definitely not for everyone.
Chinatown Cafe
A bit off off the beaten path, down on Harrison Avenue on the other side of Tufts Medical Center (almost down to the Mass Pike) from the main part of Boston’s Chinatown, Chinatown Cafe ranks really high on our taste-per-dollar scale, and easily worth the 3 extra blocks’ hike to get there. Just about everything they do is excellent, with generous portions for (mostly) reasonable prices. You can dine in, but everything is still sort of in pandemic mode, with the plastic shield still up, and no table service - but there are booths you can tuck into with your to-go order. Their roast duck is easily the best in Boston. Like other Guangzhou-style (Conatonese?) restaurants, duck, chicken and pork roasts hang from hooks, visible from the street. The beef Chow Fun (chow foon?) with broccoli in brown sauce is surpassingly excellent, with fork-tender beef, and (like all the stirfry here), a delightful Wok Hei (wok burn) flavor that marks a skilled kitchen. Everything we’ve had here is excellent. The salt-and-pepper squid stands out, the chicken wings are fantastic (not coated, but crispy outside and juicy inside - the holy grail of chicken wingdom). The only thing I don’t recomment is the special Beef Brisket with Turnip, which is high-priced by comparison with the rest of the menu, despite the toughness of the brisket. Brisket can be tender, but it takes a lot of slow cooking - more than has been done here. and although the dish is tasty, the beef is borderline inedible. The beef in the other noodle and rice plates is way more tender and melts in your mouth. Unfortunately, like many old-style Cantonese places, they don’t give much thought to cleanliness, particularly when it comes to the restroom, although it’s no worse, and maybe better than most old-style Chinese restaurants (this is not one of those new, high-priced places with marble sinks). The seafood congee is particularly special. I say go, but don’t tell your friends… I want to be able to go back! 😎
This place is honestly so damn good. Great value for the quality and quantity of food you get. Each order can last a grown man two meals, and it’s incredibly delicious. Still my favorite place to order food from in the state of Massachusetts
Yummy Yummy
Most of the food is mid, but the price is some of the cheapest you'll find in Boston. I always go when I'm in the area, though I'd never go out of my way to go to the area. I recommend the General Gao Chicken with fried rice or white rice (you can ask for white rice even though it's not visible). It is by far their best main. If you get a three item combo, you get more of each item. The two item combo is enough food for me, but if you want three, I recommend the fried dough as your third item
Hi been coming here for years used to be tasty but....not anymore the orange chicken that some people call general gaos used to be so good stingy on the chicken but the inside was almost black texture chewy yuck! The two chicken skewers were dry like they were there too long! The worst is the egg foo Yong good portion but it had hard white things inside! It wasn't onions that would've been okay! The quality has gone down! People keep talking about how cheap the food costs true but their using cheap low quality food! No thanks! I rather spend more money from J.P. kitchen which by the way also delivers!
FLAMING GRILL & BUFFET (Roslindale Location)
SUNDAY is busy but it doesn’t matter. There’s enough food. Staff is friendly and observant. Lots of choices! They even have sushi 🍣! Parking is a little limited!
Pretty nice place, clean as well, and service/food was good
Gaga Seafood Restaurant
Worth a try to have different rice plates and crispy chicken. Not a great place with nice ambience however, the food we tried filled the gap. Food portion was good enough for to for a single menu item. Service was not that great as we would prefer some one to talk a bit and explain the menu and serve happily however, it seemed they prefer more of local clientelle. Seafood is definitely overpriced. Would recommend to try this restaurant for takeaway (choice of rices, crispy chicken and dim sums).
I came here for lobsters because they have a special for 2 lobsters for $46 but tbh other than beef chow fen I can't recommend anything else. The lobsters are small but given the price I will let it slide. The satay beef is super weird. They give large portions but they also added clear noodle which is super weird and not very delicious with not enough satay sauce. The steamed giant clam is priced $7 a piece but they basically spread 1.5 clams with a lot of clear noodle to make it look like 3 giant clams with 3 shells so if you do the math they are not as cheap as they make them out to be. I'd rather they charge full price like $10 but gives you the actual full amount. I know this because I cook at home and then I know how much meat is in 1 clam. As for lobster I have a feeling they just cook a bunch and give you pieces with 2 heads but they are alright. The best is beef chow fen which is surprisingly good. This is a cheap restaurant so ambience sucks with noisy diners and crammed seating. Don't take your date unless you've been together for a long time. Service is typical Chinese service fast and efficient but not attentive.
Asia Wok
The best American style Chinese food I’ve ever had. I truly love this style of Chinese food. I know it’s not authentic but I’ve eaten it my entire life and it is one of my strongest comfort foods. I’ve eaten from every spot in the greater Boston area this is by far my favorite. Flavors are perfectly balanced. The portions are enormous. It’s greasy and salty but not too greasy and salty. The seasoning is perfect. This lo mein is the best I’ve ever had in my entire life. Just perfect and hit the exact craving I wanted. This is the only place I will order this style of Chinese food from now on.
I was visiting my Uncle last night and my cousin ordered appetizers and rice from here. The boneless spareribs were so delicious, I had to order it again tonight for the kiddos. Great service and delivery driver was a nice guy.
Fuchun Ju
The dumplings were decent, but the skin was a bit dry and many of them had cracked, so there was no soup left inside. Overall, the food was quite good, but we were surprised that the pork dish we ordered was $40+ for such a small portion—especially at a place that doesn’t feel particularly high-end. Still, it’s a good enough spot.
We were craving soup dumplings and boy did this place deliver. Tried a bunch of different ones, thanks rainbow option! The truffle soup dumplings as well as crab soup dumplings were my favorites. Table app ordering was an easy, efficient experience for our table of 5. Orange chicken was some of the best I've ever had. Will come back just for dumplings but the Peking duck and the lobster entrees around us smelled amazing as well.
