Loone Noodle on St. Marks Place has been my go-to spot for comforting and delicious soup since they opened their doors, and I can't recommend it enough! I'm a huge fan of the vibrant neon decor, it just adds to the fun and casual atmosphere. The service is consistently friendly and welcoming, which makes every visit a pleasure. But the real star of the show is the food – it's absolutely delicious and incredibly affordable, especially for NYC. I'm particularly obsessed with the pork intestine soup (so flavorful!) and the chili wonton soup (the perfect balance of spice and savory). I've brought countless friends here over the year, and they all agree – Loone Noodle is a winner. It's hands down my number one choice for a satisfying and affordable bowl of soup in the neighborhood. If you're looking for a tasty and fun noodle experience in the East Village, definitely check out Loone Noodle!

I originally had some reservations going in because the place looked very "TikTok famous" (and I'd seen it on social media a lot too). But I'm happy to say that the food was very good! Good portion in the beef soup noodles and the chicken stirred noodles we got. The chicken stirred noodles was very flavorful. Plus the prices are very good too for $13 a bowl.

The best kept secret in the Tin Building! 🤫 Speakeasy style, great for date nights! Crystal was our server & she was outstanding, as well as the rest of the team! All dishes came out fast, fresh & delicious! They are not afraid of spice, nor heat. If you need a little extra, ask for their chili powder, it's delicious! Dumplings were tender, generously filled & paired with a delicious chili oil. The fried calamari was very lightly flash fried, not greasy at all. The ginger scallion topping was amazing. The chilled sesame noodles were okay. It could've benefitted with the addition of some crushed, roasted peanuts, as it lacked depth of flavor & texture. The black bean spare ribs were charred & lean. No grizzle or fat & not overly sweet. The star of the feast was their black pepper Wagyu beef noodle dish! Add some chili powder to it & you'll be in spicy heaven! 😋 The Wagyu melted in your mouth & the noodles had the perfect chew. The grand finale was their fortune cookie 🥠 sundae w/ fortune cookie ice cream, sesame crunch pieces, fudge on the bottom & marshmallow fluff pillows. Highly recommend, especially for special occasions!

We had the best experience at House of the Red Pearl! We came in for a late reservation and as we were close by looking for the entrance to the restaurant the Chef, Tony, saw us and courteously showed us to the host stand. Our table wasn't quite ready so we ordered a drink at the bar. While waiting the General Manager, Wes, greeted us warmly and told us he had a small table available now or that he could offer us a nice booth in a short while. While enjoying two delicious cocktails, Wes himself notified us our booth was ready and escorted us with a tray for our drinks to our table. Shortly after seating us he approached the table with a delicious cucumber salad. He informed us that Chef Tony would be preparing us a chef's tasting menu which we happily accepted. The two types of dumplings, spring rolls, and short ribs were brought to our table by Chef Tony himself. Each item was delicious and perfectly prepared. The service was incredible and the manager Edgar even said hello to us also and brought us champagne. The mango pudding and pineapple upside down cake were an amazing finish to an amazing meal. We were blown away by the hospitality from the entire staff top to bottom. What an incredible all around experience. 6 stars for Food, Service and Atmosphere!

My visit to Che Li was an unforgettable journey into the heart of authentic Chinese cuisine. From the very first dish, the Smoked Fish with osmanthus and thick braising sauce, I knew I was in for a treat. The Longjing Shrimp was another standout, with tender poached shrimp enveloped in a delicate tea sauce that was both innovative and delicious. However, the real showstopper was the Flaming Beggar’s Chicken, smoked chicken stuffed and wrapped in lotus leaves, then encased in flour clay. The presentation was dramatic, and the chicken was succulent and full of flavor. The sides and desserts were equally impressive. The Stir-Fried String Beans were nicely spiced, offering a good kick. The Salted Ham Rice with mixed vegetables was a comforting dish, and the Jasmine Milk Pudding and Green Tea Milky Rice Cake were the perfect end to the meal, being both light and satisfying. Drinks like the Milk Tea with Yellow Wine and Osmanthus Rice Wine were innovative and complemented the meal wonderfully. Che Li is more than just a restaurant; it’s an experience that showcases the depth and breadth of Chinese culinary traditions with a modern twist. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore the best of what Chinese cuisine has to offer!

I had dinner with friends. It was a little neat place, well decorated with red lamps, bamboo staff, Chinese paintings, etc. The food was okay to me, who grew up in China. Dishes were well presented to guests and tasted well. However, a few dishes were too sweet, not sure if the restaurant was catering to Americans' love for sweetness. Other than that, it was a well managed restaurant with good service and a good atmosphere. Quite popular for the young.

We happen to come by this place after visiting 2by2 Cafe above it. The dumplings were so delicious, and we actually watched them hand make them! The noodles in the soup were perfect! Not crowded and fast service. Highly recommend.

I wanted to like this but the flavors are off. The meat is overly salty while the sauces and noodles are bland. It just didn't come together well. We tried the cumin lamb and qishan pork noodles

The first time I came to Baohub, I was amazed by the food here! The signature buns are soft on the outside and juicy on the inside. You can feel the full fragrance with one bite. Especially their beef buns, the meat is tender and the seasoning is just right, it's really satisfying! In addition to the buns, the other snacks in the store are also very good. The red oil wonton is spicy and addictive, and paired with a cup of hot soy milk, it is simply a perfect breakfast! The service is also very thoughtful, the environment is clean and tidy, it is a small shop that you want to check in at any time!

Curry chicken dumpling is amazing!! The duck gua bao is pretty good too. Highly recommend. Definitely coming back! 🙏🙏

My daughter and I had an absolutely wonderful lunch at Uluh. The restaurant itself is stunning—modern and elegant with a clean, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive; our waiter took our order promptly and answered all our questions about the menu with ease. Every dish we ordered was a standout. The scallion pancakes with duck were perfectly crispy on the outside with a tender, flavorful pulled duck interior. The chicken soup dumplings came in a beautiful pink and were warm, hearty, and packed with bold flavor. We also enjoyed the woodear mushroom salad, which was fresh and vibrant with just the right touch of garlic and red pepper, all brought together by a light soy dressing. The truffle fried rice had just the right amount of truffle essence, paired with fresh peas—an elegant and satisfying finish to our meal. To accompany everything, we sipped on pots of jasmine and rose tea, which were fragrant and soothing between bites. Uluh is a rich and refined Chinese dining experience, full of authentic flavors and thoughtful touches. I will definitely be returning—and bringing friends and family with me next time. Highly recommended!

Definitely more of a younger/trendier place than somewhere to get a good quality food. Close to NYU, almost all of the clientele are uni students. I’d go somewhere for better quality Chinese food but this works in a pinch. Brown sugar duck was meh, don’t recommend. Green Mapo tofu was meh, good to try since it is something unique.

I have been here 2 times and both times the food has been amazing. I recommend the chicken dumplings in hot and sour soup & the Shanghai noodles with beef. Good portion and the clean restaurant.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The service, the food, and the atmosphere was IMPECCABLE! Our server Nick was fabulous on recommendations and serving! 10/10 Def will come back here. He recommended the eggplant string beans and Peking duck along with the finger baos. BEST MEAL IVE HAD on st Marks. Nick really elevated our dining experience.

This is such a lovely snack stop after a long day of walking around NY coming from LA! The owner was extremely hospitable and offered my 67 year old dad an extra seat when my mom and I were sitting on the bench outside to stay dry from the rain. Not only the owner was such hospitable, he was also a gentleman. Additionally, about halfway into our hot steamy JianBing, the owner gave me free oat milk on the house! He said that looking at my parents and I devouring the JianBing reminded him of his childhood when he was with his parents. That was extremely heartwarming coming from him and such a kind gesture as well. Please head to this humble JianBing store to try some authentic, quick Chinese crepe with good savory toppings in it! I wish you, your family and your business all the best! - Alice

Decided to stop by Gem Bing for a quick snack. Ordered a small JB, with crispy peking duck (extra $3.99) less spicy. It was cool to watch them make it, but not sure the value was there. They also accept card...when I went, they had a sign saying cash or venmo only so I paid with venmo. But the person behind me paid with card. Eating the bing was pretty messy, but it was good that it was piping hot. For $4, I don't think a whole lot of duck was put in. Good for a quick snack. If you add on, the total price can definitely add up. Follow the adventure @shoyuthebest on IG!

A pretty decent hot pot spot in the city! Located near Union Square, this hotpot spot offers great Chinese hot pot. Service here is pretty good and we were fortunately able to grab a table on a Saturday for a dinner without a wait. We got a variety of meats and veggies and everything was pretty good! Their spicy broth was SUPER spicy though, so be warned. Their sauce bar was also pretty solid, clean, and well-stocked. Would come back for hot pot if I'm in the area.

Authentic & Flavorful Hotpot Experience! Shoo Loong Kan Hotpot is hands down one of the best hotpot spots in NYC! From the moment you walk in, the traditional Chinese decor and warm ambiance set the tone for an amazing dining experience. The broth is the star here—rich, flavorful, and packed with depth. We went for the classic spicy Sichuan broth, and it had the perfect balance of heat and numbing spice. The ingredients were fresh, especially the high-quality meats and seafood. The presentation was also top-notch, with beautifully plated dishes that made the experience even more enjoyable. Service was excellent, with the staff being attentive and helpful, especially for first-timers. If you’re a hotpot lover or just looking for a fun, interactive meal, Shoo Loong Kan is a must-visit. Can’t wait to go back! 🔥🍲

Was looking for some good Asian food around the area after shopping and stumbled upon this cute Chinese restaurant. I saw the great reviews online and decided to try it for myself. Having to see the menu online gave me great hope of the taste that was here. I am so happy that I tried this place because the taste was phenomenal. The restaurant seemed packed, but I was able to get a table luckily. I really recommend you try this place for they have different dishes for your best craving of Asian food.

My first time here. I really love this place. The staff are really sweet. I had the cold sesame noodles. Just wanted a little taste of something. They were absolutely DELICIOUS! Can't wait to come back and try other things. Thank you!

I recently visited this Sichuan restaurant that has quickly become a local favorite. The crispy chicken was a standout—crispy on the outside, tender inside, with a perfect kick from Sichuan peppercorns that lingered on the tongue. The dry pot was another highlight, packed with rich, complex flavors and a good amount of heat that you can adjust to your liking. The best part is that you get to choose up to five ingredients included in the base price, which makes it a customizable and fun experience. After that, each extra ingredient costs just $5, which keeps things reasonably priced. The vegetable fried rice was also impressive, loaded with a variety of fresh veggies and seasoned to perfection—flavorful without being overpowering. It’s clear that this spot is popular with the college crowd, likely due to both the price and the satisfying portions. The food delivers on both taste and value, making it a must-try for anyone craving authentic Sichuan flavors in a casual setting.

The dish was absolutely amazing! The flavors were rich, with a perfect balance of spices and freshness. The ingredients were well-cooked, especially the meat and vegetables, creating a delightful texture. The presentation in the wooden bowl added a rustic charm. Definitely a must-try for spicy food lovers!

I think the dishes related to Dunhuang cuisine are actually pretty good. The other dishes, though, might not be as authentic. But the lamb is genuinely delicious — anyone who likes lamb would definitely enjoy it

Soup was bland. Beef was bland. Taste was lacking any flavor at all. Photo was deceiving. Upon disliking my soup I ordered the shrimp of which I ate and saw that they do not clean the shrimp. Every single shrimp had poop/intestines and was a disgusting to experience. Please do better.
