Great Wall
This place is great! Classic Chinese food, super delicious and very generous portions. The people are always friendly and prices are cheap, especially given how much things have increased in this area over the past few years. Definitely recommend
Overpriced and disgusting. Ordered through uber cause the rating was higher. When the food arrived we immediately opened it and some of the dishes felt raw. The orange chicken was more batter than chicken and not cooked all the way through, incredibly disgusting only aye around 2 pieces before I wanted to puke. The crab Rangoon basically had no crab tasted like pure cream cheese and came with a gross sweet pink sauce that basically tasted like a melted jolly rancher. The beef FRIED rice was not even fried well just looked like a mushy wet pile or rice with undercooked beef and no vegetables or egg. Would never order from here again not even under the influence. Definitely not recommending this to anyone either.
China Spring
Great spot to get your takeout fix if you’re craving Americanized Chinese. Not all places are created equal (far from it!) and this one is super solid. They have delivery for $4, so no need to pay more for UE, GH, DD, etc., just order off the restaurant’s website. Delivery was fast; takeout is even faster. Lunch & dinner specials are under separate tabs in the menu so look for those bc they are CHEAP. Crab rangoons were solid, no complaints. Pepper Steak, Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, Kung Pao Shrimp, and General Tso’s Chicken were all great, nice and saucy. Large portions with plenty of rice. Kung Pao Shrimp has just a little bit of a kick to it, which enhances the flavors rather than overpowering them (as it should be). Same with General Tso’s Chicken. This place was recommended to me by a friend in the neighborhood and will likely be my go-to takeaway for Chinese.
Their prices on grub hub are RIDICULOUS! I use to order from them a lot, but they just keep increasing the prices. Probably cheaper to fly to China and eat there.
Chinese Kitchen
Use to eat her a lot around 2010. It was the best Chinese food around… it’s totally different now. The rice is just rice and chicken. No flavor. The orange chicken is hard and too spicy to be orange chicken. The egg rolls are completely different than any Chinese restaurant, they are like from the grocery store and just deep fried.. not too good. Will not be ordering again. I’ll try and find a better Chinese food restaurant, won’t be hard.
The store itself is not bad—clean, well-organized, and with a cozy atmosphere. The staff is friendly and efficient, always ready to take your order with a smile. The food is decent, with classic dishes like General Tso's Chicken and Sweet & Sour Pork hitting the spot, though not extraordinary. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable, making it a solid option for a quick, satisfying meal.
China Gourmet
First time ordering from here and food was so delicious! I ordered the Quart of beef fried rice and an order of Crab Rangoon. Both excellent and was a lot! Definitely gonna order here again.
I have been eating at this restaurant for years. I pretty much order the same items because my kids are picky eaters. Last night I got my order delivered and fed my family. As I went to get more shrimp fried rice, I scooped out a chunk of rice and lo and behold something with legs sticking up falls out on to my plate. I was so scared I screamed and ran. I asked my mom if she could look and see what it was and she flipped it over with a fork and identified it as a ROACH! I was so disgusted because I had already ate two servings of that rice and this was at the bottom of the container. I immediately took pictures and video footage of what is possibly the most horrific/disgusting restaurant experience I ever had. When I went to take it to the restaurant in the morning to show the manager Lee, she told me they don’t have roaches! I was livid because clearly you do! I brought back 54 dollars worth of food, most of it uneaten because I refuse to eat from a restaurant who would sell/serve me a dead roach. I truly hate when someone insults you after you have an horrible customer experience, especially one like that. I tried to keep my cool but roaches carry diseases and lay eggs! This can harm people! I’m not sure how this happened but I hope they do not continue to serve people until they have addressed their issues! I would not recommend eating here until they have taken a more serious measure to address their pest problem.
Hong Kong Express
The food here is delicious not overly seasoned everything was just right. Decent portions great price and I love the many options they offer. Definitely my favorite go too.
The service is friendly. The rice is great but the vermicelli noodles let me down just a little.
Great Dragon Restaurant
I decided to try some Chinese cuisine today and to my surprise, I had good service from order taker, Soon Yee and good food from the kitchen. I recommend this place and commend them for the excellent service and good tasting food!
Never again. I live in Chicago for 8 years and tried many food places. But this is the one i will never pick up again. Chicken had terrible smell. Rice looked dirty. Egg roll had weird taste. No offense to the owner but it's a joke.
Usmania Chinese Restaurant
Saw the ad for this Halal chinese restaurant on Instagram and was very excited to go try it. Invited all of my family, drove 45 mins just to get there and was very disappointed. Orange chicken was mainly sauce, just a few oueces of chicken, the Manchrian beef was good. Sizzling beef was mostly vegetables, but flavour was good. My main disappointed is that all those three meals come with rice, and since they didn't have customers when we came in and we were the only ones, they could've done a better job and serve us nice hot and fresh fluffy rice. Rice that we were served was "heated up" old rice, because it was warm and hard, not the fluffy freshly cooked rice. You can tell the difference right away. I was very disappointed with that, and won't be going back or suggesting anyone. Was going to go there with a friend, but changed my mind.
Chicken lollipop - 7/10 Chicken Manchurian - 3/10 Chicken haqqa noodles - 1/10 Mongolian beef - 1/10 (more than half of bowl was dry noodles) Awful taste
Van Phat Chinese Restaurant
The food is very fresh and very tasty, the quantities of food are perfect and their sweet and sour chicken is the best I have ever tried. The food doesn't taste like industrialized restaurant food, it's fresh and made instantly like homemade food. The place is comfortable and clean. They just need to have more staff to have a smoother service. The lady who served me and my family was very kind and helpful. I hope they grow a lot, their food is delicious.
Such a cozy place! The owner was very kind and friendly, the embroidered decor is so stunning, and the food is absolutely delicious! Seriously, new favorite comfort food, I can’t wait to go back 🤤
Baos N Bowls
My chicken was nice and crispy and the sauce was SOO GOOD. egg rolls were yummy as well. They showed pineapple under “drinks” and yet I received cooked pineapples which were yummy but why is it under drinks lol nonetheless 5 stars from me! Would order again.
Amazing service , so friendly ! The gal who took my order even made sure to put extra utensils with my order since I mentioned I had recently moved . She even threw in a complimentary order of egg rolls. These were the BEST egg rolls I have ever had , and I do not usually go for them . Must try !!
See Thru Chinese Kitchen
Called for pickup, they said 10-15mins. Arrived like 7mins early && we get home to this. I don’t get 1 how you box burnt rice && 2 how you serve cold rat daily. I at least want hot fresh rat🤦🏽♀️
They r RUDE AS HELL. Everytime i place an order for delivery, they always mess my order up. Just don't order food on MONDAY'S.
Chinese Kitchen on Kedzie and Roosevelt
They’re so cheap! Mixing ramen noodles with rice to make fried rice. Once I saw this I stopped eating. Disgusting and cheap. This restaurant has been here for at least 20yrs. You mean to tell me y’all can’t afford rice?? Will never return here.
Had the pepper steak lunch special, food was excellent, plenty for off steak/ fried rice, and price is right too!
Hong Kong Buffet
Will never eat here again! They stole money off my husband card . Without permission took tip without telling him ! And his wife was disrespectful calling my husband a cow in her language when she thought my husband didn’t understand but he knows how to speak there language! The worst place and very rude ! Need to learn manners!
The food is just meh. It's the kind of place that makes you think "how is it still open after all these years?" I feel bad for the people that still work here and own it. You can't expect more from a place like this though. They even have claw machines at the front which adds to the already bleak and somber feeling.
