I'm visiting my Mom, and we always pick a new place to go. Mom chose here. Nice, clean, bright interior with dining and bar seating. We started with Gyoza and Crab Cakes with a mango puree. The Gyoza were light and flavorful with a ponzu dipping sauce. They were a great start to a meal. Crab cakes were dynamite, but a different sauce would have been better. Sweet Crab, sweet sauce... a touch too sweet. Mom had Chicken Katsu with sweet chili dipping sauce - crisp, juicy, plentiful, and the sauce was great - not too sweet, not too spicy. I got the Kyu 9 piece sushi, chef choice, and a spicy scallop roll. Fantastic. Best sushi I've had in a while. I finished with Pyramid - chocolate mousse with praline crisp filling and mom got Chocolate Lava Cake a la Mode (vanilla ice cream). Zolo, our tabletender, was killer. Never had to look for her, always had what I wanted, and she made a great meal even better. I've often said good food with great service makes a great meal. Great food with great service makes a must go back again place. Here's the Breakdown: Great food in a pretty dining space with Zolo taking care of us +5 stars. I will, for sure, go back.

We choose Shakou for our dinner out this week. We had not been here before but the menu looked amazing & it did not disappoint. We had made a reservation for Thursday at 6 but there was plenty of seating at this time. Our server was prompt & helpful, directing me to this amazing Pear martini. Our food came quickly & was so delicious! I like that their menu indicates spicy, raw fish & GF - so helpful. I look forward to trying more dishes on the menu! My only 'thing' was the atmosphere- high top tables in the bar - chairs were back to back, no room to move. Music was very loud but okay & there were many families with kids coming in all night. 🌻🌻🌻🌻❌️

I definitely like their lunch special that they have everyday. They offer either a rice bowl or a boneless chicken meal with fries and a drink. Reasonably priced I think. The food took a while, but it came out hot and fresh out of the fryer. The french fries were crispy and the boneless chicken was juicy. The rice bowl was okay. Would I get it again? Probably not. I was not a huge fan of the sauce that the rice bowl came with, but the chicken tasted good.

I ordered Ddeok-Bokki with cheese, but to be honest, it tastes well without it. The sauce is slightly sweet and has a pleasant spiciness. I also included the original golden wing (bone-in). It's really crispy, but I don't enjoy the aftertaste. I'm not sure if it's from the bread crumbs or the oil. It reminds me of sesame.

6/13/2023 This was our 2nd time ordering a carryout to try other items on their menu. Amazing rolls packed solid with halal meat and no filler items! Each roll had a distinct flavor and was served with toum sauce (garlic sauce made in house). The food is not at all greasy or oily like other places. They are very well organized for carry outs and the restaurant was packed for a Thursday night. The service is fast and friendly. Prices are comparable to other establishments but quality and quantity is king here! ——————— Desi Tadka is a newer Pakistani restaurant that opened up replacing Biryani Pointe in the little strip mall off Golf Rd. We ordered a carryout last night and really enjoyed the food. We had Chicken 65 Biryani and Chicken Boti Malai with naans. The order came with several sauces; cilantro mint chutney, yoghurt chutney and another brown sauce that I don’t know the name. All the sauces were fresh, vibrant and each had a delicious flavor that complimented the dishes. The naan was fluffy and soft. The chicken in the biryani was boneless and the rice had a beautiful fragrance and taste. The boti chicken (boneless) was char broiled, tender and moist which made it taste really good with the cilantro mint chutney. It was nicely cut into pieces making easy to serve. Both dishes were very generously portioned. What we didn’t know was that the special that day was but 1 biryani, get 1 free!! Food items were neatly packaged. We can’t wait to try other items. The new “go to” Indian/Pakistani cuisine place we’ve been waiting for!!

I have been to this restaurant several times now. The food tastes home cooked. The atmosphere is very typical of a cafe you would find in London. The presentation is top notch and the prices are affordable. Imagine getting a 3 course lunch for less than the cost of a Big Mac meal. Great job to the owner and everyone involved with this restaurant

There is many cartoons on the walls. The plain dosa with cheese tasted awesome and I somehow ate it all. The munchurians were spicy, yet good. There are 2 TVs displaying there dishes. Great indian restaurant!

The food was very delicious and the coffee was lovely. The dabbangg dosa was something I had for the very first time (picture attached) and I will go there again for it. We also tried the thali and special masala pav bhaji which were terrific too. The staff is very nice and the place is very simple and comfortable. I highly recommend visiting for a lovely Indian meal with family and friends. There is plenty of parking in the area and a Patel Brothers right by. I am certainly going there to try other dishes as well.

KAI MOM'S K-FOOD TOGO

We tried the Pork bulgogi and the shrimp pancakes. Both were absolutely delicious. They nailed the flavors! Egg rolls were also tasty. Prices were reasonable. I would highly recommend this place. Definitely will be back to try the Korean fried wings. There's a few places to sit down which we did. I thought it was going to be empty but there were several others.

Tried this place several times already. This time we tried the Garlic Butter chicken wings and Fries. The flavor is there, the quality is there as well, however the quantity is small. Ordered 7.99 fries and the portion was so small. Chicken wings was the bomb when it comes to flavor, very sweet though. Did not taste the garlic or butter. I just really wish the portion was larger for the price. We will be coming back to try more items.

I order here very often sometimes weekly and I love Sam she is an amazing owner and cook. She works really hard and the food is super good! I usually order the beef fried rice or the veggie fried rice. I am a regular customer! I get my veggie fried rice with bean sprouts, onion, egg, and spicy and it’s top notch delicious!! Sometimes I get the sweet and sour chicken. And we get the egg rolls. Yummy thank you

I’ve gotten food from here on several occasions. I usually order the general chicken, which is usually good, but it’s been a while. For Father’s Day my father wanted Chinese food. I ordered four different items and one of them was Empress chicken. First time ordering it here. I thought it was weird that I was asked if I wanted the sauce on the side. Which is how sweet-and-sour chicken usually comes. I said no, I want my sauce on the chicken. I get to my car and open it up and see the picture attached. I went back in to tell her I ordered Empress chicken not sweet-and-sour chicken. She insisted it was Empress chicken and I explained that I’ve gotten Empress chicken at other Chinese restaurants and this is not Empress chicken. She then pointed to a picture on the counter saying yes it’s empress chicken, which I thought was hilarious because it didn’t look like the chicken that I had. After I said it looks like the sweet-and-sour chicken, she said no, it has Empress chicken sauce. Which was my point exactly, I was given sweet-and-sour chicken with Empress sauce. Then the next day it was barely edible because it was so hard. So basically, I think I was given some old chicken that they needed to get rid of. Definitely not empress chicken, A total waste of money!

The restaurant itself is beautiful, with authentic designs, and even a Koi pond. The service was quick and attentive throughout. All of the amazing waiters and waitresses were very kind and were always keeping our glasses filled. The food itself was spectacular. Truly amazing and authentic tasting dishes with American sized portions! Someone may argue that the pricing is a little high, but when you see the plate in front of you, you definitely know that you’ll be getting some leftovers. Overall, I highly recommend this place. I’m glad that they were able to maintain a high-level of quality staff and maintain the excellent atmosphere throughout the years.

The food was really good and fresh tasting, the experience really made me think about what I like about Japanese food, often there's little touches or subtlety in the flavors and food that you might miss if you don't take a second to appreciate. I highly recommend the spaghetti, I was going to go to the pizza place in this plaza for spaghetti but this place has many great reviews for their spaghetti for a reason, it's really delicious. The tempura set was good as well, the vegetables and shrimp were cooked perfectly and the sauce was a great compliment to the tempura. I def will be coming back for more. Please note there's a time game between lunch and dinner and both lunch and dinner have separate menus. Edit: I came back for the black garlic ramen and crab croquettes and they were amazing. I'm really looking forward to trying out the lunch menu but as a night shift worker, it's hard to make it there on time, they only have it 4 days a week and only 2.5 hours a day.

New Hong Kong Restaurant

Good spot for takeout. Overall food and service is good. Food is always ready timely and fresh. My only issue is that they pack their Mongolian beef with mushrooms. I’ve never seen this at any other restaurant and was not really a fan of the mushrooms in a Mongolian dish. Their crab Rangoon, egg rolls and friend rice are great. I’m still trying to find my favorite main dish. The sesame chicken was okay.

My new favorite restaurant 😍 service is good a bit awkward to the teenager who was in the front cause he keep staring us while eating 😂😅 But we proceed enjoying our meal and had a family dinner. We order the New hong-kong fried rice, salt and pepper shrimp (NO SHELLS), and this beef with crispy noodles on it. My favorite of the most.😋 but unfortunately we forgot to take pictures of the fried rice due to my kids is starving and cannot wait to eat 😂😅

This is a great little a Thai restaurant. This was our 2nd time and it didn't disappoint. Ambiances are low key but, it works. Family friendly restaurant and also like the fact they have reasonable hours so the staff could get to there family on time. Food is absolutely delicious sticks the authentic flavors. We were party of four and we all had enjoyed our food. One of the dish off, the Golden noodles with Shrimp, it has eggs in it but didn't expect it to be very egg forward!

Wow, oh wow!!! This is by far the best green curry in Chicago. I ordered it spicy, and that's exactly what I got! The curry was smooth and bursting with flavor! The service was top-notch! This is definitely THE place to go! The fresh Thai rolls were incredible!

Golden Durebak

Been here twice the food was not bad, but the portions are getting small and expensive, we had 3 main dishes for 2 and barely see meats

I went there today to get Galbi tang because they had good reviews but my gosh that was a big mistake!! As soon as I walked in it was very dark inside and no heat super cold on rainy cold day !!! We sat down and ordered Galbi tang which was so sad . I upload the comparison pictures Galbi tang from joong boo market and from here. First of all they only bit 3 small meat without the bone ! Only 3 piece of small meat and they don’t even bother too add clear noodles in the broth!! Also the broth was not hot enough and super watery nothing like hearty rich flavor! It’s not worth paying $18.99 dollar for that! I let the old lady know right away why only 2-3 piece of meat ??? Her response was Joong boo is a marker we are different we buy expensive meat and paying so much for it ???? Like what doesn’t even make sense!!! It was so uncomfortable sitting in a cold dark restaurant and food was rubbish !! Those old ladies are super shameless asking about more tips from the next table older couples and they asked are gonna tip??? From my boyfriend!!! He was so mad he left 20%tip with extra cash! Like so embarrassing and made everyone in the restaurant feeling awkward!! Even the old couples left angry!! You don’t ask more tips when you serve bad food with almost no meat !!!

We weren’t expecting much because of the location but WOW this is one of our new favorite spots! Such great food, cocktails, service, and ambience. They did a great job with decor. Highly recommend the pork shank & the drunken noodles. Amazing old fashioneds but we tried a few different cocktails and loved them all (the Oliver Twist comes on fire & the anise isn’t too strong). Great mixology. Can’t wait to be back! Hopefully there’s a spot since they don’t take reservations.

Amazing martinis! We had a really cute and quaint dinner with awesome service from the bartender and staff and truly some of the best martinis I’ve had. With about 20 martini options on the menu, I will definitely be back to try them all!

One of our all time favorite restaurants. Shawn and his fantastic staff always make our experiences there an incredible feast. If you like sushi and authentic Chinese food, this is the place for you. The menu is very large and there is something for everyone. Food is always freshly prepared and served hot. The atmosphere is very welcoming and modern.

I love this place so much! The variety between Chinese and Japanese is fantastic! The atmosphere here is inviting, perfect for a date night! They have great take out, so make sure to try that as well! We ate our body weight in sushi rolls! Next time we head here, we'll have to try more of their Chinese options. Eat a bunch of their appetizers too, so good! Make sure to try the scallion pancakes, the pot stickers (pan fried) and their calamari!
