Panda Express
My absolute favorite Panda Express location ever! I feel like the food is always fresh no matter what day or time I get takeout from here. The portion sizes they give are always filling and beyond satisfactory. I have no complaints. Even eating it as leftovers the next day or two is still tastes amazing!
For the longest time, I saw Panda Express as cheap, unappealing Chinese food that I’d occasionally crave once or twice a year. But every time I ate, I was like yea, no more panda for a year. So, I ranked Panda Express at the bottom of the fast food chain obviously. However, this particular LOCATION completely changed my perspective. About two months ago, it was about time, so I ate from this Panda, and I was so impressed. The meal was hot, perfectly cooked, not overly salty or oily, just a delightful and affordable meal. Impressed, I downloaded the app, thinking I might actually visit this place more frequently. Now, I've been coming here roughly every two weeks, and it never disappoints! I never imagined I’d enjoy Panda Express this much. I genuinely want to applaud the cook and manager for their excellent work. Many other reviews seem unrealistic—expecting more beef than broccoli in a $10 meal? Come on. I definitely recommend kung Pao chicken and teriyaki chicken for sure. Sweet chicken thingy and shrimp was meh.
Jang Choong Dong Korean Restaurant
This is an authentic Korean restaurant - not fusion, not trendy, just classic Korean fare. The selections of meats were delicious (pork belly and brisket,) and the selection of 반찬 was more than what most places offer. This place is truly delicious and great - and it's a vibe a lot of new places are moving away from unfortunately. Please give this place a try when you're around the area.
First time here, we had all you can eat. We were served by a couple ladies. They were super nice and friendly. They cooked food for you and tried to help us with the grill. The food was just amazing! The service was fantastic. A+ all around
Panda Express
I should have never waked away and trusted the server with my portions. This is not double orange chicken. Never coming here again
The location at 128 North Ave in Northlake sucks. They are always burning the chow mein, but worst of all is they give you small portions of food compared to the other restaurants. Today I got a bowl with Chow Mein and Kung Pao chicken. The bowl wasn't even half way full with food. Other locations will fill the plate or bowl so that you have a decent portion, this location doesn't fill anything at all. They need to retrain their staff on proper portion sizes. What they're serving is not worth what I'm paying. Update - 12/11/2024: Again their chow mein is still burnt. This place doesn't get it. It's not that hard to cook the food but they consistently burn it. You can smell and see that its burnt but they keep doing it. How are the managers not seeing this and teaching them how to properly cook food? You can clearly see scorch marks and black parts on the food.
Chinatown Kitchen
Nov 24 2024, I’m searching for some good Chinese places nearby after my dash, and this restaurant was nearby and I’m starving crazyyy. So, I ordered chicken fried rice and an egg roll (classic combination). And then I went to the woods nearby to have my lunch. The food is good, why I’m saying this is because when you eat some good food cooked good to its maximum capacity, you’ll really feel the first burp. Good experience 👍😊 Complementing the chef with my empty bowl ….., thank you 🙏
The food was thrown together. The rice was missing all the regular ingredients. No eggs, no bean sprouts , no green onion. The cut up yellow onions very big. It was chicken fried rice, all the chicken was on 1 side. The fried chicken was brick hard and the crab Rangoon was horrible. The egg roll was the only good part of the entire lunch special. Oh the beef satay was extremely tough and chewy. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!!!
Nuevo China Buffet
We were looking for something new, and we found Nuevo on Google, and we weren't disappointed. Northlake's best kept secret! The fried chicken was a tad overcooked, and the fried shrimp we still don't know what to make of that. Overall it was a good experience!
The food was terrible because it wasn’t fresh. The meat smells bad, the fruit is almost bad, and the food has no taste at all. The service sucked. They didn’t label their food, so half the time you don’t know what you’re eating. When they run out of a dish of food, we asked them to refill it and they refused because they want to save money. Not many people were there. The bathroom is dirty, and there are puddles of pee so when you try to go, you stand on pee. So use the bathroom before going to this place. Also, the stalls are covered in writing and have some “colorful language” on them. So that’s why this restaurant is only a one star.
Buffet City/Cajun Seafood Boil
It was a good experience to have dinner at this buffet restaurant. Options were limited especially at the fruit section, maybe because it’s a holiday season and they haven’t fully opened. The atmosphere was cold so most people had their jackets on which wasn’t very nice. All together, I had fun. I loved the plaintain and fried shrimp.
Food was good. Chicken wings were dry. Service can use more English and less "I don't know or I only bring food" atmosphere can use more emphasis. Very quiet except for all the clanging coming from kitchen.. will return.
Szechwan North
It been a while since last time I have visited, whole different team and I am glad that they finally got someone who can smile while servicing. The kitchen now put different thought on the dish that I always recommended, salt and pepper shrimp! The way they deal with shrimps makes the texture and presentation of this dish completely different from other Chinese restaurants. As a person who only care about foods, I am looking forward to find more surprises right here.
The Fresh Whole Fish Fillets in Sour Pickle Broth at Szechuwan North is phenomenal! Delicately cooked with fresh fish and perfectly seasoned broth, each bite is packed with rich, savory flavors that are both comforting and bold. If you’re looking for a standout dish, these noodles are a game-changer!
Naan On Devon & Grill (Indian Hyderabad)
If you want to taste the Authentic Hyderabadi Food, try this place. I bet you will love it. Last night, we ate Chicken 65, Chapati and Curries. The presentation was good, and the food was delicious and mouth-watering. ✅
Food,Service and Ambience(clean & Tidy) is really good out here and the prices are affordable. A must visit for Authentic Indian Hyderabadi dishes. I have tried many items and they serve fresh and tasty food. Will definitely return back.
Jay's Wok (Chinese Kitchen)
I ordered from here 2/16/24. We ordered egg foo young and it was very dry! Sesame chicken with very little sauce and old broccoli, chicken fried rice that was barely seasoned. I’ve ordered multiple times and the food is normally great! Because of this I called and the manager yelled at me and told me that I should ask for extra sauce. Then told me to come back and bring the food and she would refund me. They were closing in 2 minutes and I told her I would come and she said were closed and hung up on me. I will never return or recommend this restaurant again. The worst service I have ever received.
This is the second time I order after a few years of not ordering from Jay’s wok and I am very disappointed. Both times I have ordered Shrimp plates they have been completely full of big onion and green peppers and only have 4-5 shrimps. The plate is literally all peppers and onions and their portions have gotten way smaller.
Tastee Rolls
Ima just say I went here and got two Egg rolls They was horrible, one was burnt , one was undercooked, as you can see. The chicken was salty as hell and the Philly steak was dry. They tasted like old grease and then they were small as you can see. The one on 79th would never, and if they owned by the same people how is it different. And it was $10 for both of these , the nerve. I was blew , but I’ll only be going to the outside location.
I live in Lincoln park, I was in the area and had a taste for an egg roll I use Google to find me the nearest place for egg rolls and it recommended this place. When I tell you there egg rolls was 🔥 🔥. And there wings was on point.Great customer service Thanks to the owner for hooking you boy up as a first time customer. We will definitely be going back.
Panda Express
Just check the pic and ask your self who made this meal, can you eat it ? Literally only onion I can see
When someone says, "Let's grab some Chinese food."I don't think they're thinking of panda express. At least I hope they're not thinking of panda express. The food and service is mediocre at best. There was an extremely nice and attentive African American woman, but the rest were kids, and they shouldn't be running a restaurant.
Yu's Mandarin (Wheeling)
If you’re looking for authentic Chinese cuisine in a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere, Yu’s Mandarin in Wheeling is an excellent choice. The restaurant’s décor is charming, with traditional Chinese elements and elegant touches that create a warm and inviting dining space. The red lanterns and thoughtful wall art add to the cultural ambiance, making it a great spot for family gatherings or special occasions. Highlights of the Meal: 1. Lobster Dish: The lobster, served with aromatic onions and a flavorful sauce, was fresh and perfectly cooked. The meat was tender, succulent, and seasoned to perfection—a luxurious treat that felt worth every bite. 2. Steamed Whole Fish: This classic Chinese delicacy was a standout. The fish was steamed to maintain its natural flavor, topped with a generous amount of julienned green onions and light soy sauce. It was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked—delicate and melt-in-your-mouth. 3. Broccoli with Sea Cucumber and Mushrooms: A unique dish with an earthy and rich sauce that paired beautifully with tender broccoli. The sea cucumber and mushrooms added depth and texture, making this dish both nourishing and satisfying. 4. Dumplings: While not the centerpiece, the dumplings were a comforting addition to the table. Soft, flavorful, and well-seasoned, they rounded out the meal perfectly. Overall Impression: The quality of the food at Yu’s Mandarin is outstanding, with a focus on fresh ingredients and authentic preparation. The service was attentive, ensuring plates were cleared promptly and drinks refilled without interruption. Whether you’re indulging in a special seafood dish or exploring other classic menu items, Yu’s Mandarin delivers an experience that stands out in the Chicagoland area. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone craving a memorable and delicious Chinese dining experience.
I wish I could liked this Yu restaurant better than the original in Schaumburg. The food here was good but not great. The original ones food always have wok flavor and flavors. However I do like the lunch specials here. Specially the beef chow fun noodles, the Taiwanese beef noodles soup wasn’t flavorful enough and the noodles were mushy.
