Imperial Garden Chinese Restaurant
We were looking for a high rated Chinese restaurant and found this one and we were happy we did! This place is very nice, a cozy clean, relaxing atmosphere. The decor is very well done. The food was very good not overly greasy and delicious. We had the teriyaki chicken on skewers for an appetizer. It was definitely not your average sweet teriyaki it was a savory not sweet flavor but good. We had Chicken fried rice, Hunan Beef, and Beef Chop Suey. All were spot on and had an authentic taste. The service was great they were kind, attentive, not pushy, and very efficient. Thank you for a wonderful experience and very authentic delicious food!
We have ordered for pickup several times since moving back to the area from NYC. The owners and staff are always attentive and the quality of the food is consistently great. Last night was Christmas Day and we ordered for takeout. They were one of the ONLY restaurants opened in the area. They only offered pickup and delivery. The lines and wait times were long, but the owners their family who were all working together as a team - remained calm, friendly and attentive- even with customers lacking any holiday spirit. My youngest child, who is in their 2nd year of Mandarin was able to converse with one of the owners. She offered to speak Mandarin conversationally with us when we return under less stressful circumstances and we plan on taking that opportunity. The food was fresh, flavorful and great portions for the price. The quality of service is always consistently friendly and helpful. But what stands out the most to me is that on Christmas Eve - their entire family was working together to serve others and kept smiles and well wishes the entire time - even with longer waits and some cranky customers. We will be back soon to enjoy a meal as a family with the family at Imperial Garden - Xie xie 谢谢
Color Oaks Chinese Food
The food here is so good! It our favorite Chinese food in the area. The owner is so sweet, he is always smiling when we come in. I am never disappointed when I come here. The jalapeño chicken is delicious! I would recommend it to everyone!
New ownership. Probably the most bland Chinese food I've ever had. Tried mapo tofu, Sichuan beef, veg soft noodles, and hot n sour soup and could not even finish it. I really wanted the food to be tasty since the place is so close and convenient. I gave it an extra star because the staff is friendly and another star for quick service and hoping there will be future improvement...
Panda Express
This is the GOAT Panda. Super clean, food is panda, and good vibes all around. The staff are all super friendly. The manager, Ika, is someone you'd want to hang out with. She somehow remembers my double order of Honey Sesame Chicken every time I come, and I don't think I'm the only one she does this for. I never thought I'd be on a first-name basis at a fast food chain, but here we are. It does get busy sometimes at night.
Everything was fresh, made in full-view, and changed for fresh items regularly. Food was good- American-Chinese fusion food. Service was great and prices were a bit high, but reasonable. Indoor seating, busy store. Overall, great experience.
Golden Dragon Restaurant
Typical local Chinese spot. Service was surprisingly good and the food wasn't too salty.
It seems to be a small mom and pop Eatery Young and grown up adults service service cook and prepare prepare take out. So it seemed like a family business quaint and nice every effort is made to make your experience pleasant. The food was pretty good service also. Definitely a nice experience. There is really no ambiance because they are geared more for take out out but we entered and we were the only ones That were seated but by the time we left all 5 tables were full. So clearly it's a popular place in 1000 oaks.. If you want great price points good dish portions and a great selection. I recommend giving them a try.
Fong's Cafe
I don't leave reviews often and when I do they are always positive but unfortunately not this time . I also try to be understanding when especially when it comes to restaurants as I know it's a hard business. The food was horrible, we threw almost everything away after the first few bites. Absolutely everything came out of the freezer section at Walmart and I mean everything! Everything was bland and soggy with one exception which was the odd use of uncooked XL chunks of celery. I'm fat I know what Chinese food should be like and I would have been very disappointed if I paid 6 bucks for this at Walmart let alone $21 at fongs . Order at your own risk
Fongs used to be a great place to eat. The last time I went, all of the prices had been raised close to a dollar. They weren't even sneaky about it. All of the menus have the prices crossed out and replaced with new ones written in sharpie. It's almost like a slap in the face. We used to be able to eat there for under $15 and feel like it was a great value. Now it's usually closer to $20 or more. Also, be aware that if you want your sauce on the side (I hate soggy leftovers), they charge extra for that. This used to be a place that we came to regularly. Now, not so much...
Mandarin Restaurant
I've been for lunch several times and I've always enjoyed it. The amount of food has always left me, my Queen, and my uncle satisfied. I recommend the lunch deals; as good as it is, I don't think I'd pay more than those deals. I have to say, I have incredible respect for our waitress and cook. From my dining perspective, it looks like the whole place is a three-man-show. One waitress acting as table busser and host, one chef, and one manager usually helping with the food. Each time I've been there, our waitress professionally and positively handled the entire room of customers alone with no mistakes.
Stopped by the mandarin to celebrate the end of semester and was disappointed. Don’t let the wait staff or other comments gaslight you into thinking that this is actually chow mein and we are used to lo mein a simple google search will tell you that’s simply not true. Chow mein is supposed to be crispier but I’m pretty sure someone got confused when they were making kapusta Zasmaźana (polish stewed cabbage) and added the crispy chow mein noodles to it. Chow mein is made very similar to lo mein except the noodles are stir fried creating a crispier saucy coating where lo mein has more of a saucy texture like pasta. Just in case you are confused. Anyways service was fine a little slow but they seemed a little understaffed for the rush so we weren’t too bothered. The lighting was a little bright for our taste and some ambiance music would have been nice. If you like somewhat toned down Chinese flavors this is the place for you. The fried rice was a little old and wasn’t really fried. And the sauce was lacking on your chicken but otherwise it was fine? Probably won’t be back for the amount of food you get the cost isn’t horrible but we spend less at different restaurants in the area and feel more satisfied. Anyways I’m sure a specific demographic loves this place but not us.
New Star Restaurant
It was explained to me that there are half a dozen restaurants or so in the Idaho falls area that are owned by the same group of friends and family. It was recommended that I go to one of them and try a dish called pork and seeds. Chinese BBQ pork served cold with a side of ketchup, hot mustard, and sesame seeds. After looking online a little bit, I found that it's a regional dish of Idaho. Never seen it while living in Utah or any other state. Stop at this restaurant around 1:30. The hostess was also the server. The restaurant was clean had and fish tank. They had a lunch menu which seemed very reasonable and that is what we ordered off of. The food came out fairly quick We ordered the pork and seeds as an appetizer. The appetizer came out well ahead of the meal which was nice. The pork was very good. The dish was better than I expected, I would probably order it again when in Idaho. Entrees were hot and fresh. My wife ordered Mandarin chicken with chow mein, the waitress explained that it came with celery and asked if that was okay which it was. When it arrived at the table we realized that the side was two parts celery for every one part chow mein. it was still good but it was surprising just how much celery they put on the plate. I would go to this restaurant again. It's not a fancy Chinese restaurant, but it's a great price and it's in a good location
I am honestly so glad this place is good, it's the only one in the area without having to get on the highway and go to another town. I think with the food the only reason the the dropped star is just little things that make the food better, I feel the egg drop soup could have more substance, and the fortune cookies often come with no fortune kind of things, so nothing major. Everything here tastes really good, and the fried items have a really nice crisp to them.
Main Moon Restaurant
Very generous portion sizes. We always get the sweet and sour chicken, I love that I can tell I’m being served actually chicken chunks instead of some per bought chicken that’s ground. Best Egg Drop soup I’ve ever tried in Idaho Falls. Beware the website is a fake. I did tell the owners
Very nice people and the best Chinese food we have had in Idaho Falls. We highly recommend! Also try the cream cheese wantons they are made fresh and amazing! ❤️❤️❤️
Great Hunan
Great Hunan is by far one of the very best Asian restaurants in Ammon/Idaho Falls area. Vegetables here are not overcooked and the food is not heavy and greasy. We particularly love the fried rice, Mongolian Beef, Broccoli Beef and there are vegetarian options as well. The wonton soup is particularly delicious. The great location next to the movie theatre makes it a great place for a date night or a family dinner before or after a film. Or heck, just go with some friends for some great food and share it family style or treat yourself! Service is always excellent at Great Hunan. Friendly and efficient and the interior is cozy and warm.
- Service was great, very friendly and attentive. - Portion size for lunch was a little smaller than I would have preferred, and I’m not a very big guy. - Chow Mein and Sesame Chicken were both pretty good. Not the best I’ve had, but not bad by any means.
Canton Restaurant
This was our first time going to Canton . Restaurant. The food was decent. It's a small space. Service was good. There was only once server when we arrived, which was fine for the amount of customers there.
Eat here! Good well seasoned food. Authentic Cantonese food. Great service. Large portions. It's all you can eat, unless you have a very big appetite and stomach. I don't think I can eat it all, but trying. My dad fought in Korea and took us out for various Asian cuisines. Also lived near Oklahoma City's Asian district and ate once week at the restaurants.
Chinese Garden Restaurant
Ah, dear patrons of the culinary arts, allow me to regale you with a tale most delightful—this marks my second illustrious sojourn to the very establishment that is this charming eatery. Verily, we find ourselves consistently enamored with the delectable feasts presented before us, a veritable cornucopia of gastronomic delights that dazzle both palate and purse alike, for the ratio of grandeur to expenditure is quite simply, astonishingly remarkable! The ambiance here is less of a dreary diner and more akin to a reverie, resplendent with a cleanliness so pristine, it could likely host the Queen’s tea party, paired with decor that would make even the most fastidious of interior designers swoon. Furthermore, the service—oh, the service!—is as swift as a caffeinated gazelle, with employees who are eager and attentive, a true testament to professional hospitality. However, one must note that the establishment tends to resemble a bustling hive of activity, buzzing with patrons clamoring for either tantalizing takeout or hastily orchestrated pickups, whilst the sit-in clientele is rather scarce, like a rare Pokémon. Now, when it comes to the necessary lavatories, they are, in all their tidy glory, akin to a diminutive airliner’s cubicle space—neat as a pin yet snugger than a bug in a rug! The tables glisten, the floors sparkle, and the overall ambiance encapsulates that quintessential nostalgic vibe one desires for an enchanting evening immersed in the splendors of Asian gastronomy. My recommendations are as hearty as the dishes served, with one minor caveat that has bestowed upon the service a mere trio of stars: A mishap involving a family member who, alas! Found herself the unwitting victim of nefarious card theft, resulting in a rather unfortunate fraudulent escapade the very next morn, despite the card being as fresh as morning dew. I am not insinuating that any ne'er-do-wells lurked among the genial staff, but one cannot ignore the realities of our world—my dear acquaintance had traversed to no other locales where the treachery could have occurred. And thus our tale concludes, leaving a mélange of flavors and the faintest hint of caution in our wake.
Best Chinese food in town. If you can speak a little Chinese, you’ll get access to the special menu!
New Hong Kong Restaurant
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet. We've been going here for over 25 years now. It's definitely our go to location for takeout Chinese food. Everything we've gotten from them is unbelievably good. Never had a bad dish, they've never got our order wrong after all these years. Never really eaten inside, it's kind of rundown looking. They go to pretty quick usually about 20 minutes from the time you call it's ready.
Great food (huge portions too). My wife did the special fried rice and hot & sour soup, I did a spring roll and sweet and sour pork. All were excellent. Service was quite good, prompt and friendly. The restaurant itself is clean and well done inside. Overall a great experience. We will be back I am sure.
