Pearl House Restaurant
I've been eating here a few times a year for years now. The food is so consistently delicious. I don't even like going to other Chinese restaurants because nobody does lo mein as well as Pearl House. The prices are affordable which is great in this economy. I couldn't give five stars for atmosphere only because there's a couple tables inside that looked like they used to be for eating at and just have boxes on them. It's not a bring your date to kind of place but it is absolutely bring your date home some of this amazing food kind of place.
The best Boness Spare ribs I’ve tried. No grease at all which is wonderful. Definitely recommend! And also, their Lo Mein is amazing 🤩 I usually get mine with no celery and no cabbage but that’s just personal preferences, this people is great
906 Homwin Chinese Restaurant
Spent $315 on wings and other food and they said this was okay because they deep fried it twice. Like I’m super disappointed because I brought the same thing 2 years ago for my son party and other party. Had 2 1/2 tray left and had told the guests to go home recooked before eating
First time ordering and my food got to my doorstep pretty fast the food is good 👍 no complaints
Tea More Cafe
I've been coming to Tea More for years, and I love it. My favorite is the beef mala tang (spicy soup), but the black pepper beef and coconut shrimp are good as well. The service is always fast and the owners are very kind. I would recommend eating here to anyone.
My daughters wanted to try boba tea, so I took them here. The food smelled so good. The service was great. The place was clean and inviting. They loved the teas. They had caramel and chocolate they liked the caramel the best.
Hong Kong Garden
This was all our first time at this restaurant. I wasn't expecting anything special, but in the end, we were all blown away by the quality of the food. To start off, they have a typical Chinese food menu, but every dish tasted premium. Low to no oil, well-cooked vegetables, crispy chicken, perfectly cooked shrimp, and probably some of the best lo mein I've ever had. Soups were all good and the crunchy noodles were the wide, bubbly, oily type that I like. In the end, we kept picking at the leftovers, and more importantly, we didn't feel any stomach issues or ickiness. Great spot.
I had a deeply concerning experience at this restaurant. While waiting for my order, I observed one of the cooks in the kitchen pick their nose twice. To my shock, the cook made direct eye contact with me while doing so and then proceeded to cook without washing their hands. I immediately informed the owner, who apologized and offered to remake my meal. SUCH UNHYGIENIC practices to witness. I declined their offer. Food safety is non-negotiable, and what I observed was unacceptable. Unfortunately, I do not see this disgusting behavior changing. The man had no shame and care in the world to taint another human beings meal.
North China
I was in the mood for hot egg drop soup on a rainy day. Not many Chinese restaurants open on Mondays so no other option. Figured I would go back since I haven’t been in a while. Mistake. Chicken fingers were soggy, no crunch at all and lukewarm. Egg drop soup had odd after taste not sure what it was. Corn starch maybe?🤔 ‘Boneless iribs’ were dry and tasteless. I use quotes because to call them ribs is a huge overstatement. Absolutely no trace of a stickiness or wetness from a sauce. Totally dried out. Definitely not fresh. Don’t usually write reviews and not a picky person but dang the food missed it on all marks. Fried rice was ok - passable. . Won’t be back for sure. Do better! With the rising prices, adding a convenience fee us occasional customers who like to treat themselves will stop doing so altogether. And will be more selective how we spend it.
Updated review December 31 2024 We decided to give North China another try on New Years Eve. They were extremely busy but our food was ready as ordered. The food was much better than the last 3 times we tried it under new owners. It's not the same as it was over the past decade, but not much is in this world. The portions were HUGE! We got our usual sesame chicken, fried rice, chicken fingers, pork and egg rolls. The fried rice was moist and delicious. The fried foods all had a slight fishy after taste probably from the oil but it was all pretty good. They got our order right and it was a great feast for the price. I am glad we gave them another chance and we will be returning. Happy new year 2025 🎉 Updated review May 2023. North China has new owners and new cooks. We have tried it 3 separate times now and everytime it was awful. The sesame chicken tasted like vinegar. The chicken fingers were double fried or overcooked all 3 times. The pork fried rice was dry. The egg rolls and crab won tons were hit or miss. The pork was rubbery and had no flavor. We threw it away this last time. 3 full combination dinners in the trash. A big waste money. We ALL loved getting North China every weekend in my neighborhood but not anymore. What a huge disappointment. We have been eating here for over 10 years. It used to be very busy there but it is quiet and word of mouth has traveled quick in our area. People are very upset with the new owners and quality of the food. Honestly the Chinese food at the Holyoke mall food court is better and that's not a good thing. Awesome Chinese food. Very busy place at times. I get the sesame chicken with chicken fingers, fried rice, and bar b q pork dinner combo frequently. It's a lot of food. Good chicken curry , crab rangoon, house special fried rice , and egg drop/won ton soups. Full bar.
China House
Certain Foods are 10 like the Pork fried rice and sesame seed chicken. The fried dumplings I purchased were 4. Freeze dried for too long. Fried chicken wings and fried rice or french fries 8.
We have ordered there 3 times and only ordered the third time because the first time was good but the last two times have been not good to put it nicely. Rubbery, flavorless. Under cooked and not worth the price at all. Just a heads up.
Real China
The food was so nasty I threw it away. Rice was hard. Beef and broccoli looked like flesh. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Don’t order the bbq spare ribs! The are small boney pieces about 1-2 inches in size that they clearly remove the meat for the boneless spare ribs, it was all cartilage and bone, so awful!!! REAL bbq spare ribs from a Chinese restaurant are actually SPARE RIBS!! These were their trash they serve and charge you for. So awful!!!! The rice was definitely old rice microwaved!!! So bad! Never again.
Hibiscus
I've lived Hibiscus for years. When I first moved to Holyoke, I tried all the local places before I landed on this as my favorite. Their daily specials are packed full and have a lot of bang for buck. Most excitingly though is that they're piloting a buffet! The prices were really good. You pay for a take out box that you can fill to the top, which is an interesting concept. I think it was $9 for lunch, $12 for dinner? I was at first bummed about being limited but you can fit a ton - I got dinner and still had enough for leftovers. There was a lot of seafood and really well cooked meats (the chicken wings were so juicy and had that kind of Korean fried chicken coating). They had classics too - rice, crab ragoons, lo mien. They had small batches out which tbh I think is great so they can replace and refill more often to keep it fresh. You can eat there or make your box to go. My partner and I loved it and thought it was a really good deal! You can't even get raw ingredients that cheap! I hope it gains enough traction that it can stay. For those who haven't gone, there's a small parking lot with free off street parking. I've always been able to find a spot with ease. They take cash and card, but note that they don't take Discover.
Just a small little place, but service was quick, food was hot, very good. Didn't make me sick like most do. Got a menu, ordered and waited in the car. Maybe 15 minutes. Not bad at all. I don't do sushi so I can't comment on that.. Otherwise very good.
Lucky Cheng
Truly so friendly here and I think I might just have found my new favorite Chinese food spot. Crab Rangoon was delicious everything is so perfectly cooked and packaged neatly. My food stayed crispy and warm all the way home. Delicious
If you want good quality Chinese food come here. This is my go to Chinese place and it never disappoints. I would suggest the chicken fingers, they're really good and you get a lot for the amount you pay.
Golden Chopstix Restaurant
We’ve been coming here for the last few years and have never been disappointed. Service is quick, and food flavor and quality is consistent, with good value (portion wise) for the price. Our family of 4 can easily have dinner and leftovers for lunch the next day, for about $75. If you’re looking for DimSum, this isn’t the spot for you. If you’re looking for quick Chinese takeout, this place is perfect.
This is what you’re looking for…. I promise. You can tell this place uses fresh ingredients, because it doesn’t leave you feeling bad afterwards. They also have the perfect portion sizes, enough for 2 meals. Best Chinese food in the area!
Empire Wok Chinese Restaurant
Excellent and friendly service. The food was delicious, great price for the lunch menu.
$25 for crab Rangoon and a dinner platter. The crab Rangoon wasn’t cooked, super chewy and the beef/broccoli had no flavor! Lots of vegetables with very little meat. Do not recommend eating here.
China House
This place is the best Chinese restaurant in Town. The food is so amazing and fresh. The coconut chicken sauce is very creamy and you get that coconut taste. The Beef lo mein, is juicy and full of flavor The beef is cut perfectly. The combo had a big Fat eggroll it was steamy and fresh. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful when I was deciding what to order. I will absolutely be ordering from here in the future. 🤤
I come here all the time for last few years.. why is the chicken pink? Haven’t been impressed lately at all. Kinda scared to even eat it anymore. I noticed pink after felt something slimy in mouth so I ripped it open and saw the pink. I am pregnant, if I get food poisoning I will be making this bigger deal I am disgusted.
