Szechuwan Garden
Placed an order for pickup at 6:30. When I arrived at 6:35 and inquired about it the woman who seemed the owner mumbled something and disappeared to pick up another call. I call them on the phone and see her pick up my call from the back and answer my call. She tells me that the order isn’t ready yet (instead of updating me at the front where I was waiting). I patiently wait… When she finally makes it to the front to take a walk in order she tells the other customer they suddenly got busy in the last 10 minutes after a quiet while at the restaurant. I’m confused why my order that was placed at 6:05 online was delayed if they “were not busy”. When remind her that my order was 15 minutes late she rudely said “then leave it” after someone in the kitchen had just brought it over… what followed after was a horrific display of childish behavior when she asked me to hand over the food I was just given (!?). Do not recommend. I heard her yelling after me once I paid. My husband said I should’ve just left the food, but when you’re a mom who’s picking up food for their kiddos while on a tight schedule, you don’t let the rudeness of strangers get in the way. Having said that, never again will this owner get my business. There’s Panda Express down the road for a quick and satisfying Chinese food craving!
I ordered takeout—got the Sesame Chicken and wonton soup. This was easily the worst Chinese takeout I’ve ever had. I took one bite of the chicken and threw it away in the outside dumpster, I didn’t even want it in my kitchen garbage. It was dry, soggy, tasted like it was fried in the same peanut oil they’ve been using for years. The soup seemed fine, but I tossed that too, because I couldn’t trust anything that came out of that kitchen at that point. When I picked up the food, there was no one eating inside. So I’m guessing this isn’t a popular spot with in-person diners either. I’m really baffled by why this spot has such good reviews. That’s why I’m posting mine—I don’t want others to be misled like I was.
Panda Fresh
My wife and I get take out at Panda Fresh quite often. We haven't been disappointed yet. The food is hot and flavorful and the service is excellent. It's a family owed and run restaurant that I would recommend to everyone.
My teriyaki chicken was dry and tasted like ham??? Orange chicken was good, fried rice looked like it was sitting out for long because there was barely left in the hot plate. First time going here didn’t go so well. Ok this is in the future. I take back what I said about the orange chicken, gummy and hard as a rock. Bro I didn’t even enjoy the cookie...
Mandarin Bistro
Delicious and authentic Chinese food. Every dish I tried is finger licking good plus service with a smile! I keep stopping by to eat here, whenever I am in Thousand Oaks.
The restaurant serves great food. The thing I like about their menu was the colorful pictures of almost all the menu items. The service was excellent. It has outdoor seating, plenty of parking. Will definitely visit again.
Green Onion Chinese Food
I've been going here for years. The food is always fresh and very tasty! This recent time we had the Szechwan Beef and Rice with Shrimp. Give it a try!
Green onion slaps. They consistently cook up some amazing dishes. I love the ma po tofu, the green beans, and the eggplant. Never a long wait. Easy take out or a fun dine-in experience at a family owned and run spot
Yunnan Restaurant
Amazing food, came back for over 4 times and every time it is consistent and delicious. The service is also great everyone is so nice. Definitely recommend.
Best wonton soup within at least 35 miles. Incredible. It is rich, full bodied, smooth, and full of robust flavors. It’s the only place in town that isn’t using too much dough or overcooking their dumplings. The meat inside is outstanding as well. My god, I’m so excited about discovering this place and this soup.
eLoong Dumplings
It was my 1st time. I only bought a noodles to go. The noodles are too simple. So I cannot tell u about their food. I will go back and try other food, and then I can write more. Thanks.
Fantastic food!!! We loved it.
Panda Express
I have always had a pleasant experience here not sure what other people are talking about or they are to picky about the food. This isn’t a five star restaurant you know.
The manager Sophie said they would not refund uncooked and burn food because they own individually and they are not part of franchise panda express I intended to report her to attorney General to make sure they do not name the store panda express very poor service .when they use unprofessional and ignorant uneducated person as a manager . I have pictures and recordings of this employee as proof.
Sesame Inn
I’ve been coming to this place for many years. I think they did change ownership at some point but the food is still very good. Pictured is the house chicken, dumpling soup and sweet and sour shrimp. The orange chicken and Mongolian beef is also one of our favorites! They are a little pricey compared to other places but we always have leftovers and the portions are good sizes. We will be back for takeout soon!
Use to come here 10+ years ago and loved it. So disappointed got Kung Pao chicken I ate a few bites. All dark meat with a lot of fat, tons of celery and scattered peanuts that was it. No union or bell pepper which is what I’ve always had in this dish. To top it off it lacked any flavor and was not spicy at all. Threw in the trash. To go only. Had I dined in I would have refused food.
Szechuwan Garden Fast Food
Dim Sum for your road trip or daily delight. So glad I stumbled upon Szechaun Garen right off the 101 fwy in Newberry Park. To find delicious dim sum randomly was a nice delicious surprise. They have many other traditional dishes too but dim sum is hard to come by. Definitely try the pork soup dumplings you will will in heaven. Rich and flavorful and a bath in the homemade sauce makes the perfection. The owner was so warm and inviting. I received the nicest service and felt right at home. Don't expect fancy but do expect better service and hospitality than you will find in most restaurants today. There is plentiful free and easy parking and if you are on a road trip you have a gas station with snacks right next door. Looking forward to being back soon.
The place is excellent newly just opened and right to EVgo supper faster car charging station. The foods are so delicious and full pack of flavor.
Lakeview Garden Restaurant
We recently celebrated grandma's birthday here with two young grandkids. Our waitress was outstanding. So patient and always one step ahead. She understands kids. She made it possible for the adults to actually relax and enjoy the wonderful food. And she offered to take photos!
The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, and the service is excellent. Highly recommended!
Red Wok
Red wok is one of my favorite Chinese spots in NP. For some really I really love the sweetness the chow mein has. Additionally their Mongolian beef is really good. We’ve tried all sorts of dishes from here and have enjoyed them all. The soups are good also!
If you’re thinking “Chinese food near me” then this is your place. I got the egg fu Yong and it was delicious. 10/10 would recommend to a friend. Thanks Red Wok.
Hunan Yuan Restaurant
My family and I tried out hunan yuan for dinner. The food was okay. We were unimpressed by the orange chicken, which was a large disappointment. The garlic noodles were really good, the fried rice was just good, and the egg drop soup was great. The honey walnut shrimp was the best part of our meal. There are better local options. I didn’t do a price comparison with other local Chinese restaurants, but if they are lower priced, then they’d be worth it.
Delicious authentic Chinese food and always great service. Very reasonably priced too comparing to other Asian restaurants in the area.
