Lagoon Chinese Restaurant
Great place, foods are great. Good service. *just one thing* : Found a short hair on my wife's 'oyster sauce chicken on cake noodle' order as soon as the waitress set it down on the table. But i quickly removed the hair before my wife saw it. Didn't want it to ruin our lunch.
The food was amazing! Full of flavors, the service was great, they serve really quick. The environment is clean and nice. However water from the AC was dripping down a little on us. But overall, everything else was really good. I will still come back. I highly recommend the minute chicken, gaugee, chow fun noddles, salt and pepper pork. It’s all serve hot and ready to eat. Price is good! $237 (tip already included) for 9-10 people and we still got leftovers to take over.
Mings Canton Food
When in town since we live on the Westside this is our go to Chinese food place. We like to go early to avoid crowds so service is pretty quick. Our waitress who I believe was tending to the opening of the place was preoccupied so had to request for our rice since the main dish was served, waited a bit for our won ton soup. So based on the flavor of the food will still continue to go. The place was clean and comfortable and spacious enough for other customers to move around if need be...
Food was fine, just the lady didn’t tell me it was an extra $2 for spare ribs. That was fine and all but she only gave me one set because it was the only one left, it’s like she was too lazy to replace the pan or she just thought she could take advantage of that $2 exclusiveness making the ribs seem special but i know for a fact the meat I got should’ve been more🤣 ESPECIALLY if I’m paying extra cause it was like two bones patched to eachother.
Grand Chinese Restaurant
IT'S BACK!! My childhood Chinese restaurant!! "THE GRAND CHINESE RESTAURANT"..previously "THE HOUSE OF DRAGON"... Wow!! Ok...I have been looking for the last couple years for the familiar and great tasting and not disappointing Chinese food since this placed shut down...None have the greatness. I'm 55years old....This place fortunately has the same cook under different Owner and Management. Clean restrooms even..The place is immaculate, clean, modern, organized, and the food is so damn good...all my favorites without disappointing. It's back!!
Located behind Don Quixote & H-Mart, this fairly new Chinese restaurant serves mainly Chinese American dishes. We tried the 3-ingredient chow mein and the House Special Fried Rice (it looked like every table ordered one of this). Both were decent, though not great. The fried rice was riddled with cha-sao, shrimps and chicken strips and the serving was large. The prices here are very reasonable for the quality/quantity you get it here.
Mini Garden Express
Casual restaurant serving local and Chinese favorites. Few tables for dine in but most of the orders are takeout. Do expect to wait since everything is made to order. Best to call in orders ahead. I had the Combination Plate with Ginger Chicken and Roasted Pork. Portion size is generous however it's mostly rice. The Chom Sum Noodles with chicken was good amount of vegetables but the flavor and taste was a bit bland for me. The service was nice, the lady even gave me a free soup with my order. I'll return and to try something else on the menu.
A person I met recommended this place so I decided to have my late lunch/early dinner here as I was passing by. I bought ginger chicken/char siu with rice for $14.61 with tax included. To my surprise it was a lot when it came and I was barely able to finish it. The char siu and the ginger chicken were very good. The server spoke loud in both chinese and english and she was very friendly. I went there at 3 pm so there was no other dine in customers but they seemed very busy with lots of take outs. I am glad to have tried this place.
Ten Second Yunnan Rice Noodle Hawaii
Very underrated restaurant. Very flavorful food & drinks, good service and good prices. We got the calamari, pork dumplings and spring rolls which were seasoned perfectly. Winter melon tea and plum juice are exquisite. The ideal amount of sweetnesss and flavors very memorable. And ofcourse the soufflé pancake, we chose brown sugar boba and it was absolute perfection. We will definitely return again to try the rest of the menu
Located upstairs of Pearl Ridge Center Mall. We decided to eat here when we saw it while shopping since we haven’t had Yunnan Rice Noodles for many years. This is a more modern version of Yunnan’s stable with a very nice presentation and an easy way to order your options. We both got the bone base soup with fatty beef. The flavoring wasn’t overpowering and it was quite tasty. With 8 or 9 small dishes of ingredients all mixed together with the soup and the rice noodles, it was delightful. We also ordered the deep fried dumplings, which were okay, but not that good and tasted like grilled instead of deep fried. So I would not recommend getting the dumplings. The service was excellent and friendly. If you never have had yin a rice noodles, then you should stop by this place to check it out.
Roast Duck Kitchen Inc
The roast duck and roast pork are good, but I wish they'd throw in a can of soda for the price. Lots of cabbage under the meat. Only for take out. There's one bench outside for customers waiting for orders.
The Roast Duck Kitchen is always a must visit for me whenever Im visiting. My family wanted Roast Duck for our family gathering, so I ordered ahead of time. They prepare for you when you arrive. I also ordered a plate of crispy gau gee and fried rice. Everything is made to order and food came out hot and fresh. Make sure to call in your order.
Panda Express
Good food as usual. Not much to say. Good meal for under $14
The team here is very efficient. There is rarely an item unavailable, but when something does run low the cooks are quick with the refill. The staff is friendly. The bathroom is super clean. The drinks haven’t gone down (like many other Pandas).
Bowl of Fortune
Eggplant with garlic, hot pot combo (with lots of variety of protein) and lamb with cumin were all very delicious. The milk tea was authentic Chinese flavor. The food is Chinese Chinese said my Chinese friend who dined with me. Haha. The staff spoke Chinese to many Chinese speaking customers that are good sign to this place being authentic. Lots of spicy food options here as well as non spicy ones to choose too. The service is slow and the technological backdrops in the background need some updates but for the authentic food I definitely want to come back.
Yesterday we visited Bowl of Fortune. We really enjoyed, my daughter was fascinated. She love the food. All the crew were very friendly and super fest. She hada Free Ice Cream on Paloma. She is very Polite and careful.
Old China Buffet
I absolutely would not recommend eating here... Their food is not good, very fatty. We had never been and we will not be back.
We love to eat here. Have eaten here for over 17 yrs with no problems . They have awesome food.
China City
Food was nasty, save yourself money and don’t come here unless you want to be disappointed.
We ordered food and it was completely terrible. The general tso's chicken and the pepper chicken we're both disgusting and tasting like molasses. If you want your money's worth do not eat here.
Silver Palace
After a absolutely horrific experience with Taco Bell in Portsmouth, I can say Silver Palace has went above and beyond on this experience. Food is delicious, on time, hot and the taste is spot on. It may be two different food choices, but I can assure you Taco Bell will no longer get my Friday orders of $40-$50. From now on Silver Palace will have my business.
The food is decent, but the service wassrude. I wish I could say this was the first time they were rude, but this happened another time when we visited previously. The lady I was working with was asking questions such as, am I going to eat all of the food myself, asking personal questions about my relationship, and in general being very rude. I felt very uncomfortable having had myself and my girlfriend insulted, and I hope that the staff will have more sensitivity in the future.
Jade East Chinese Restaurant
For years Jade East won community choice awards and has long been a staple of the community’s dining choices, but it seems as though they have lost their luster. We stopped in the today after a bit of shopping since they didn’t appear to be too busy and seated ourselves at the direction of the cashier. We must have just missed the lunch rush as several of the tables hadn’t been bussed yet, but both booth and table style seating was available. After about 10 minutes our waitress came to take our drink orders and quickly returned with them and took our order. After that two other couples came in and we must have fallen off the radar. After 35 minutes we received our order, but empty glasses were not refilled or extra plates removed. This might seem trivial but the tables are a bit cramped with 9 plates (we only needed 3), glasses, and serving dish covers. But hey, it’s not the end of the world. My food was good. However my dining companion’s food was not: the orange chicken. Aside from being cold it was a far cry from the menu’s description. A better description might have been, “Microwaved chicken cutlet covered with an entire can of Mandarin oranges in syrup.” If you’d like to try it just buy some nuggets from McDonalds, put them in the fridge for 30 minutes, while doing so open up an $0.89 can of mandarin oranges, remove nuggets from the fridge and dunk them in the can. It was bad. So bad that she wanted to send them back and order something else. In 10 years she’s never even suggested the idea, and thinking the worst of having them make something else after complaining the thought was quickly disregarded. On a positive note our German Shepherd loves orange chicken. Overall the place appeared clean and for the most part the food was good. The service was slow but if you’re with a lively group the time will seem faster; if you’re in a rush it will seem like forever. If you need something you’ll have to speak up. If you’re expecting it to be the best Asian food in the area you missed that bus a while ago.
What has happened to the food?? We have been ordering moo goo gai pan extra spicy for 30 years and house rice….. today the food was NOT good….i had to cook the moo goo gai pan because it wasn’t cooked and was cool when we got home.. we only live 10 mins away. The flavor was off……bad
