A Bite of China 伟记美食
A Bite of China is great if you're looking for comforting Cantonese food in the Rockville area. I enjoyed the flavorful Hainan Chicken & Rice paired with dipping sauces. I haven’t tried other items on the menu. The restaurant itself is casual—good for a low-key dinner or a meal with friends and family.
I have never ate Chinese food BETTER than this place! A bite of China is the most amazing restaurant I have been too! The food comes in large portions and is not hurtful at all towards your wallet! My family and I were very delighted eating here! I will for sure be coming here in the future! The workers as well are very kind and attentive! If you are having doubts or wondering if you should eat in, you must! It is amazing food I am happy to have eaten!
Double Lucky Star Hong Kong BBQ
I ordered half of the famous imperial concubine chicken at Double Lucky Star, but was extremely disappointed to find that a portion of the leg was missing. The best piece of the chicken leg. This felt deceptive, as I paid for half a chicken and did not receive what I was promised. If you’re charging for a specific portion, you should deliver the full serving! Maybe it was a mistake but if they intentionally took the part out for other purpose then it reflects poorly on the restaurant’s integrity. Its a shame because the chicken actually tasted pretty good.
A causal Cantonese Hong Kong style fast food stall with extensive menu and decent prices in a food court of a Chinese supermarket.
Shimiaodao Yunnan Rice Noodle
The broth was delicious. They served the food very quickly after I placed the order. The ingredients were fresh. The staff were efficient dealing with both new and existing customers. The price was very reasonable. The restaurant was small, but I had no issue finding a table around 6 pm on a Saturday evening.
The restaurant is pretty small and cozy. We ordered seafood and chicken soups. The seafood soup was good, but the chicken soup was ok. The noodles were overcooked, and the chicken pieces had a smell, so I didn't like it. I also ordered fried shrimp and scallion pancakes. Both the appetizers were good. Overall, it is a casual spot for soups and appetizers.
China Bistro
If you like dumplings then this place is a must try! The variety is incredible from classic pork and chive to more adventurous fillings like fish and cilantro (my favorite!). Each dumpling is perfectly steamed with a chewy wrapper that holds a burst of flavorful filling inside. The skin is just the right thickness, not too thick not too thin, and the fillings are juicy and flavorful without being too greasy. The dipping sauces are also the perfect accompaniment - I usually mix vinegar, soy sauce and add the chili oil (spicy so add cautiously!). The perfect spot for a quick lunch or a leisurely dinner with friends. Honestly this is the kind of place you’ll crave long after you leave. I always have to come here when I’m in the area! Cannot recommend enough!!
Delicious dumplings...we tried the Mama's and the Shrimp dumplings...loved the Mama's. Also tried Scallion Pancakes and Black Pepper Beef, both were good. Service was friendly. Both orders of Dumplings were huge...I think 10 dumplings each...
Wing Wah
Walked in and immediately saw the restaurant employee having a great conversation with a happy customer — so I knew my partner and I were in the right place. We asked for a menu and were given a detailed but not messy menu. She then explained to us how the dinner platters and sides work. It all sounded good to us (almost reminded me of a Chinese restaurant my family and I grew up eating). My partner and I ordered two General Tso’s platter priced nicely, an order of Chicken Lo Mein, and Shrimp Fried Rice. We then asked how long, and were told about 10-15 minutes. We waited in the car for 10 minutes and as I moved to get out of my car, the previously mentioned employee hand delivered it to us in a sturdy container — very friendly service. Lastly, the food was great. The chicken in the General Tso’s Chicken was superb and the fried rice was pretty great. The only issue I had with the food was the Chicken Lo Mein tasted quite salmon-y. Other than that; they will see me soon.
This place was so good! We’ve been looking for a good Chinese restaurant since moving here from NJ, and the food has been so delicious. We got the Pu Pu Platter, beef and broccoli, garlic Parmesan wings, sesame balls, and egg drop soup. The beef and broccoli was cooked really well and the vegetables were really fresh and crisp. The egg drop soup was so good and reminded me of when I was younger getting take out with my family! The Pu Pu platter was a great way to sample a lot of the appetizers and the egg rolls were my favorite. Definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants in silver spring, and the owner was so sweet. :)
Eastern 88 Chinese Restaurant
I got the 4 wings and fried rice combo, and the wings were perfect, super crispy, full of flavor, and not oily at all. I absolutely enjoyed my meal 10/10! The owner was also super friendly, and I love supporting this family-l owned business. Definitely the best Chinese food in the area.
Good customer service. Good carryout. I got basic wings & fries with mumbo sauce and ketchup! It was good. I was satisfied. Also got beef and broccoli was told it was good! I'll be back to try something else. I'll keep y'all posted!😉 Parking isn't bad. You have options.
Chef Yan 川府人家
Chef Yan is a great spot for authentic Szechuan food in NOVA. The flavors are bold, so spice lovers will be happy. My favorite dishes were the spicy chicken and mashed pepper with eggplant and eggs. The menu has a good variety, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. Service is efficient. There's no need for reservations, which makes it an easy choice for a spontaneous meal. The only reason for four stars instead of five is that the spice level can be intense for some, and a few dishes might be on the oily side. Overall, it’s a fantastic place for real Szechuan cuisine, and I’ll definitely be back!
Chef Yan 川府人家 was highly recommended by our local friend as their go-to spot for delicious Sichuan cuisine. We were impressed by the extensive menu and the bold, flavorful dishes. Service was quick and friendly, though we visited in the afternoon when it wasn’t busy. Portions were generous—we all had leftovers to take home. Parking was plentiful, making it a convenient stop. Overall, a fantastic experience and a must-visit for Sichuan food lovers!
Mama Chang
Great authentic Chinese dishes. We had a larger than 6 group so the round table was fantastic to sit. A lot of food dishes to select from & everything was delicious & the dishes savory. The coconut pudding was a nice finishing touch to the palette. 10/10 recommend.
I come here from time to time, and it’s consistently a solid spot for authentic Chinese food in a clean and comfortable setting. On my most recent visit, I had the Qianye Tofu with Squid, Fresh Green Sichuan Pepper Fish, and Crab Asparagus Soup. Everything was delicious and worked really well together. The fish dish came with lots of pickled vegetables, which I loved. You can find cheaper Chinese restaurants, but it’s rare to find one that’s both authentic and this clean. Even the bathrooms are well-maintained, which I always appreciate. Only complaint is the menus could use a wipe—they were a little oily. They also offer an all-you-can-eat option during lunch, which is nice, though they didn’t have the dish I originally wanted that day. Also, they charge $1 per bowl of rice, which caught me off guard, but overall the pricing is reasonable for the quality. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for something clean, flavorful, and legit.
Lotus Garden
This place has one of the best noodles in the DMV as they make it fresh for your meal. Additionally, all other choices on menu are done very well and is very authentic Chinese cuisine. One slight negative is that during busy times is can be slow as they are understaffed. But it is worth the wait. Will definitely put Lotus Garden into our regular rotation.
I can’t believe I just discovered this place after living here for so long! I randomly stumbled upon it, and it was exactly what I’d been looking for. I’m pretty sure it’s Cantonese-style Chinese food, and if you’re after that classic roast duck and crispy pork hanging in the window—along with authentic, non-Americanized dishes—this is the spot. There were so many things I wanted to try, but we settled on Hunan beef, roast duck, vegetable lo mein, and Buddha’s Delight. We shared everything family-style, though I’m pretty sure I ate most of it myself! The flavors were incredibly authentic and unforgettable. The menu is huge, making it tough to choose, but I can’t wait to go back and try more!
Peking Express of Vienna
Great takeaway spot that we have been going to for 25 years. Food quality, quantity, and price are good and the owner is very friendly. Call ahead and pick up. Shredded chicken szechuan style is my personal favorite.
The Szechuan had zero vegetables when the owners image showed it with carrots and celery. Flavor was bland at best and there was also a bed of nasty cabbage under the food to bulk it up. They should call it snack size rather than lunch. Menu image posted.
Chili Wok
Chili Wok is a hidden gem in Vienna for anyone likes authentic Sichuan cuisine. The dishes were flavorful and spicy in the right way. My favourites were the Mala Dry Pot and Mala Beef Shank & Tofu Skin. The price was reasonable. It's perfect for a relaxed night out or a quick bite with friends. The seating area is relatively limited. Many people were doing takeouts here.
In my opinion, the best Chinese restaurant in the Fairfax/Vienna region. We order food from here almost every other week and it’s almost always a satisfying experience. We have tried 50%-75% of the entire menu, they taste great and the price is reasonable. Staff is friendly, welcoming. The restaurant itself is clean. We will continue being a regular here. This authentic restaurant deserves to be seen by more people.
Hunan West
Aggressive and controlling wait staff. Made up prices as they pleased. Gross food. Good tea. Should have gone to the Italian place.
Under recent new ownership. They have vastly upgraded the offerings. Today we had the best Sweet and Sour Shrimp ever. Pleasant staff; reasonable prices, huge portions, quick service. They prepare each meal FRESH. We will go back often. A++++
