⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an amazing experience at the grand opening of Paper Lantern in Montclair! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting (NY vibe) with beautiful décor that perfectly complemented the restaurant's modern yet cozy vibe. The food was absolutely phenomenal—each dish was crafted with such care and bold flavors that left a lasting impression. Juicy pan fried buns and outstanding shrimp dumplings. Peppercorn fish was perfection the flavor did not overpower the dish! Service was top-notch as well. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, making great recommendations. You can tell that a lot of passion and effort went into creating this restaurant, and it truly shows. Montclair just gained an incredible new dining spot, and I can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend checking out Paper Lantern for an unforgettable meal.

I went to Paper Lantern yesterday, a charming Chinese spot that lulled me into a false sense of security with its elegant decor and smiling staff. I ordered the chicken with chili—with fresh chilies, mind you—and what followed was less of a dinner and more of a spiritual awakening. One bite in, I knew I had made a mistake. Two bites in, I began drafting a letter to my intestines, apologizing for everything I was about to put them through. By the third bite, I was ready to light incense and pray to every known deity across all faiths, past and present, for mercy before my inevitable showdown next morning. I drank a whole bottle of sparkling water like it was a crisp mountain stream—still, flat, blessed. I didn’t sip. I gulped. I chugged. I made eye contact with the server like, “Sir, am I going to survive this?” But oh, it was good. Like dangerously good. The scallion pancakes? Crispy, chewy little miracles. The cucumber salad? Cool, refreshing, and frankly, the only thing keeping my taste buds from submitting a formal HR complaint. The Singapore noodles? Glorious. Lightly spiced, stir-fried perfection with just enough curry to whisper, “See? Not all spice wants to kill you.” So yes, Paper Lantern is delicious. Just know this: if you order the chicken with chili, prepare for a flavor experience so intense you might briefly leave your body. 10/10 would eat again—with a fire extinguisher on standby.

Macky’s Dim Sum 0

The best disum restaurant in Issaquah area. I had dim sum here on a day in late September. The food was delicious, with many dishes to choose from. I went with my family, about 8 people, and the restaurant had spacious, comfortable, and clean seating. The staff was very friendly and pleasant.

After giving this place a try, it's well worth the 15-20 min drive to the Bellevue area for much better fare. I'm sure the restaurant had its moment years ago, but I noticed too many red flags for me to consider returning (if you've ever worked in a restaurant, you know what to look out for). Couple these signs with their known food safety violations, its not much of a surprise. For the size of Issaquah—and how fast it is growing—it has a surprisingly good and diverse food scene. It can certainly do much better than this.

Having recently moved from Bellevue to the peaceful town of Issaquah, I had to say goodbye to the convenience of Bellevue's vibrant Asian restaurant scene. Luckily, I discovered Famous Kitchen, which offers some of the most delicious Cantonese dishes and roasted meats (duck, pork, chicken). My favorite--the roasted duck--did not disappoint. Unlike other places where the duck is mostly bones, the portions here are very meaty, and the flavor is perfectly balanced--just the right amount of seasoning without being too salty. We've explored several other dishes on the menu, many of which we've never seen or heard of anywhere else. It's definitely a hidden gem, offering a unique and flavorful dining experience.

They weigh the takeout box with your bbq pork. Also, the guy chopped my bbq and didn't wash his hands after taking a nap at the table. Pretty gross. Salted fish chicken fried rice was really good; white cut chicken was great, but I was very disappointed with shrimp wonton noodles soup (shrimp in wonton was very dried and no flavor). Best Wonton Noodle Soup is in Seattle, Beacon Dim Sum House in Seattle!

August Moon Chinese Restaurant 0

First of all I absolutely hate the taste of fish. That’s why I order beef! Mongolian Beef. Last time we ate here, the beef had a sour/fishy taste. I didn’t say anything because I thought the chef made an innocent mistake. But I love Mongolian beef so I ordered it again tonight. It was so fishy I couldn’t eat any of it. I ordered BEEF not FISH. In 40 years of eating Mongolian beef, I’ve never experienced red meat flavored with seafood sauce. Really disappointing. Also strange was the dish contained 2 distinctly different types of meat. What’s that all about?!?! Portions were very small for 3 of 4 dishes despite the higher price. No white rice included. And for $90, they included ONE small container of soy sauce. But here’s the kicker: The order-out menus is more expensive than the dine in menu. They also tacked on a 3% convenience fee. AND the online ordering automatically added a 15% tip. My husband had to manually remove the tip. So we were UNABLE to pay online. My husband had to call in to pay. He paid the “order out” price and “convenience fee.” Then we got a surprise call back from August Moon. They actually ASKED for a tip. So, in short, fishy food, jacked up prices for small portions, added convenience fees and the audacity to call us back and ask for a tip. It’s take out!

Great portions for take out . Salted pepper shrimps was flavorful. Vegetables was mild and still crisp . Sweet and sour chicken was good, chicken wasn’t crispy by the time we got back to the hotel . Hopefully we can dine in next visit .

Thank you for opening back up!!! Our family missed your food so much!!! Shrimp stuffed chicken, Thai style shrimp, braised pork shank, shrimp stuffed crab claws, fish fillet and tofu!!! All my favorites and party size portions were huge! We will be ordering again for mother day.

Macky's serves up some tasty dishes. We ordered their fried rice cake, rice rolls, and seafood noodle soup. Their portions are huge! The rice roll with peanut sauce was by far our favorite of the three dishes. The fried rice cake with egg was pretty good as well. As for the noodle soup, the broth was a bit bland. We had to spice the broth up with their house satay sauce, which made it decent. Overall, Macky's is a good value spot.

This restaurant has great varieties of authentic Cantonese/ chaozhou food. Whenever I have comfort food attack, I would come to this place to fill up. Today, we ordered take out lunch at Macky noodle. No indoor dining yet. They still have the day of the week special. Everyday features a dish at a special price. Not enticed by the specials, We decided to order the combo with shredded chicken, fish ball and thin noodle. The deal comes with a drink as well. We also ordered their house special chow fen. Normally, this dish is very tasty with rice noodle but this time, with the thin narrow noodle, the dish seemed to be a missed. Something is missing, didn’t taste the same. Well, our meal was not completed without their house special fried rice cake. This dish is my wife’s favorite. With the diced dried pickled turnip, the fried rice cake tasted delicious. We had a good lunch today.

Wok Provisions 0

Wok Provisions is a welcome new spot in Woodstock with fresh, well-prepared dishes and a clean, modern atmosphere. The service was attentive and efficient, making for a smooth dining experience. While the prices are on the higher side, the portion sizes are generous—definitely large enough to share an entrée. Overall, it’s a solid choice if you’re looking for flavorful Asian-inspired food and don’t mind spending a little more for quality and quantity.

We were visiting from out of town and happened to see this restaurant. We found out after we sat down that this was their first day open. Everyone was very friendly. The fried vegetable bao buns were freshly made, and we could taste the difference. The hot and sour soup was tasty (it is very spicy). The spicy dry pot was amazing. It is very spicy(which I liked) but too hot for my wife. You can ask for less spice if you want. The spices and herbs used were a perfect blend. It was one of the best restaurant stir fry dishes I've ever had. I highly recommend this place!!

This restaurant has the absolute best roasted pork. It’s pork belly and the skin is crunchy and perfect. The bbq pork is amazing as well. I had their fried rice which is amazing on it own the first time I visited and then I tried their homemade rice noodles this time. Best meal I had in the island. Bring cash. No credit cards!!!

Came here on a whim with my husband... We got the 3 sides with fried rice and it filled both of us up (we are hearty eaters). I loved their fried rice! Not your typical fried rice either. Their char su pork was delicious and I enjoyed their mushroom dish as well. Didn't care for their won tons (little boring to me). Friendly and low prices.

Golden House Restaurant Hawaii 0

We saw all the reviews online and decided last second to go try it. It wasn't great. The fried rice was overcooked and didn't have much flavor. The Buns were soft though. The roasted pork was ok, almost overcooked. A bit hard to chew. The poor girl at the front seemed so overwhelmed that she kept forgetting not just part of our order, but the other patrons there as well. It would be best to have someone else hired for the front to assist her. The other guy from the back came to help her when it got to be too many people in the restaurant and a slew of incoming calls for takeout orders. They do have a sign posted at the front saying 'help wanted'. I hope they find it soon. The inside of the restaurant is ok. It does seem a bit outdated and needs a revamp. The chairs are work and torn in some places and the material scratches the back of your legs when you're seated on it. Probably won't be back here, but at least we gave it a chance to try.

Loved it, I’ve been on the island for a few years and have been looking for a good Chinese restaurant. This is one of my favorites, staff was amazing, tea was lovely and I always judge a place by the peaking duck first it was fantastic

Great Wall Chinese Restaurant 0

The Great Wall Chinese Restaurant was an unexpected find. We try to find non-touristy and local restaurants. It’s about 35 minutes from Honolulu. Annika (sp?) was a wonderful server. She answered all our questions, gave perfect suggestions and was very attentive. The food was delicious and had leftovers (we ordered a lot). We had crab rangoons & the soft won tons as appetizers. Pat ordered the General Tso’s Chicken Plate and half Roasted Duck, which he LOVED. I ordered the Pepper Garlic Pork Chop (DELICIOUS!!) and Hawaiian Fried Rice. I asked for sau-sau-an (sp? a type of Filipino vinegar garlic dipping sauce), which added to the taste of the pork. The Ube Ice Cream was a delicious surprise. The reason for the 4 stars for food is because the fried rice was a little overcooked. If we were staying longer, we would go to it a few more times. If you get a chance to go, you won’t be sorry.

I have been wanting to try this place for a while but always remember when they are closed(Sunday and Monday). Finally got the chance today. I was the only dine in customer but there were quite a few patrons who had called in orders. The waitress was attentive and kept my water filled! I got the oyster chicken and cake noodles with a side of rice. Which is probably my only complaint, the meal should have rice included. All in all I enjoyed everything. Flavor was great. The food was super hot. Loved the hot mustard. Fair price for the amount of chicken and cake noodles I received. Recommend and will bring others here for sure.

Panda Express 0

Was SOOOOO ono to eat at wahiawa pandas. Ordered chow fun noodles with honey sesame chicken and chicken mushroom. What's with the massive load of vegetables at this place? More than half of my noodles was cabbage and cabbage that my fork couldn't even stab through it. Also, the chicken mushroom is always lil bits of scrap chicken. Mostly vegetables too. And it's pretty much like that all the time when eating here at wahiawa pandas. Everywhere other location of pandas always serves a good portion of meat or chicken. But in wahiawa, you'd be lucky if you can find it. I am totally disappointed to have spent the time and money for a plate full of cabbage and hardly any noodles... Mind you I am not a vegetarian or did I order a vegetarian plate.

Yesterday, after waiting for a very long time at my doctor appointment, i was too tired to cook so we picked up Panda Express on our way home for lunch. I really really LOVE their beyond orange chicken and i was craving it badly. Decided to get the family meal and ordered the fried rice, chow mein, beyond orange chicken, honey sesame chicken, teriyaki chicken and two orders of cream cheese rangoons. Employees were nice, and provided ample napkins, utensils, fortune cookies and sauce which was a plus because many places forget!! We arrived home and to my disappointment my beyond orange chicken was the regular orange chicken instead. I really wanted to have the beyond orange chicken, but I love the regular orange chicken too and there was also honey 🍯 sesame chicken, so I ate that with the chow mein and cream cheese rangoons. I personally am not a fan of the fried rice because I hate peas and carrots but everyone else ate it. Good meal! 02/07/2023 WOW!!! Great job Panda 🐼 Wahiawa. You redeemed yourself today with me. My current rating: 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars!!! After rehab today my husband and I picked up lunch here since my mom was craving food from here. We usually drive through 99% of the time but today I decided to go inside to order. I was greeted by friendly ladies and since there was a customer before me, I was told they would be right with me. Very very clean. I was taken care of next so I placed my order for the family meal (2 sides 3 entrees) and waited for them to cook more black pepper chicken. The employees there were so super nice and very kind. I was offered a drink while I waited for the new batch to be cooked. The Orange Chicken, Beijing Beef, Chow Mein, Chow Funn, Black Pepper Chicken, & Cream Cheese Rangoons, ended up being delicious. It was a great meal. Congratulations on redeeming yourself Panda, because of the employees. Mahalo for reading this review, I hope your experience here was as good as mine! 07/16/2030 What another awesome meal from Panda! Ordered online. It’s quick, convenient and easy. Food is as great as ever, fresh, hot,& very very tasty!! My mom loved honey Walnut Shrimp, the Orange Chicken is always great, Chow Mein, and Beijing Beef were cooked to perfection, chicken egg roll, cream cheese rangoons, and veggie spring rolls were nice and crispy and the Honey Sesame Chicken was tasty! Awesome job Panda Wahiawa! My entire family enjoyed the meal. You guys are the #1 Panda Spot! 10/11/2023 The New Apple Pie Rolls are very tasty with a nice dusting of cinnamon sugar! 02/17/2024 My nephew came over and wanted Panda’s so I ordered the family meal online. Panda Wahiawa Crew there is awesome. Keep up the great work!!! 🤙 09/11/2024 Tried the New Blazing Bourbon Chicken. Although it looks nothing like the ads,the taste is delicious! It has a nice deep smokey flavor. I might get addicted! 🤔

No frills for Dim Sum and service. Hot tea was tasty. Street parking is sometimes difficult to find. Be patient.

This was quite the experience! We recommend you come with patience and the mentality that there may be a wait due to limited seating and very busy staff. We waited about 20 minutes but once seated we quickly began flagging down waitresses to get our orders in. The food was very good and came out fairly quick once you got your orders in. The garlic chicken wings with the chili paste was very nice as well!! Get the egg tarts before they’re gone, they’re sweet and are perfect to eat with tea.
