spicy city
A friend of mine and I always go here. It is our go-to spot for hot and sour soup as well as dumplings. The portions are very generous, and an entree can feed two people easily. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly! You definitely should give Spicy City a try! Only issue is the parking can be a challenge at busier times, but that isn't the fault of the restaurant.
Authentic shichuan with good portion size at reasonable prices. The decor is simple. The dishes come out quick and delicous. Price is very reasonable. We go often and like many dishes there. Must get is the cold plate where you can pick 3 items from the spread. La zhi ji and sour fish are also very good. Service is fast and efficient. Parking available in the mall.
Eastern Dynasty 粤品
Our group of 4 people order 4 main dishes and 2 bowls of rice to start. Every dish was delicious. Eggplant and fish, French style beef, shrimp and vegetables, and roast duck were perfect. The chef even accommodated our request. The wait staff were efficient and helpful. Hopefully, the pictures will be helpful and appetizing. We arrived at 1pm on a Saturday and there was no line at all, seated immediately. Parking, well, we parked on the nearby street; parking here is tough so plan on circling the lot of parking nearby.
This is a small Chinese restaurant specializing in Cantonese cuisine. This is our second visit and were not disappointed at all. The cold chicken is delicious and served with an onion and ginger sauce. The calamari was a bit tough but very fresh. The roasted pork belly and fried tofu is delicious. Each portion was just the right size to share for two people. The whole dinner was about $48. Nit bad for three dishes. The place is clean and well maintained. The staff is very attentive and the manager checks on every table. They have wine and beer. Our tea came with the diner. The service was quick but not overtly fast. Just the right pace. Typical, dishes come out as they are ready, so our cold chicken hit the table first, followed by the fried calamari and then the clay pot. Highly recommend this award winning restaurant !
The Noble Chef (豪記私房菜)
Tiny little restaurant with super authentic Chinese food. There were at least three banquet tables filled with so much food the waitress actually split some of their dishes into smaller plates so that they would fit on the table. We got their specialty dish, the French beef. It came with super tender chunks of beef quickly stir fried in a delicious sauce. The meat was medium rare and amazing, and served in a bed of onions and lettuce. We got the pea sprouts with garlic for a simple and delicious vegetable dish. Scallops with XO sauce also had chilies, onion, and a delicious sauce. The waiter warned us that it was spicy, and it was very tasty and not too hot. My hubby's favorite was the French cooked beef. Mine was the duck and taro clay pot, as it was fragrant with taro, and the roast duck with bones was tender and tasty and deeply flavored the thick sauce. It was all good, came quickly, and the waiters packed up our leftovers quickly and easily.
This is our favorite Cantonese restaurant in town. Although slightly more pricier than other Cantonese restaurants, the quality is also much much higher. Our favorite dishes are: Roasted duck in Cantonese style, Guifei chicken, sizzling beef steak with black pepper, and Pea shoots with preserved eggs. Waiters are friendly and helpful. You also get free sugar soup, a traditional Cantonese after meal dessert if you dine in for dinner.
Fortune Cookie Express
Why would anyone in their right mind spend money at Panda Express with this place so close by off Balboa? Please, why?! Huge portions. Super friendly service. Great options. Might not be the most fresh Chinese food, you should already know that. FCE is a must-visit for those looking for affordable Chinese fast food to take out.
Great food. Great service. They don't mess around. The containers barely close because they're so full. People seem to forget how to drive in the parking lot, so be careful. It's next to a chic fil a, so there are a lot of oversized emotional support vehicles.
PB Oriental
First time visiting this place and the service was great. The lunch deals they offer are great and large portions, the food was all yummy and will definitely be coming back. Was able to find free parking in front of this location as well.
Very friendly folks. The food was super yummy! The ratio of onions to beef was a bit high on the Mongolian Beef. Orange chicken and lo mein were delicious.
Jade China Restaurant
"Jade China offered a pleasant surprise in Murrieta with its cozy ambiance and authentic Chinese flavors. From crispy calamari to the best salt and pepper chicken we've tasted, each dish left us impressed. The Mongolian beef was tender, and the General Chow Chicken had just the right amount of spice. The quality of the white rice was good, perfectly complementing our meal. With friendly service and reasonable prices, we'll definitely be returning for more."
Surprised and disappointed. That sums up our latest experience at Jade China (June 16 2023). As in my previous review, we have been coming here since it first opened and noticed how many times ownership/management has changed... because the menu items we order never changed, but the service, dish presentation, and portions have. Today, we ordered the same... chicken wings, egg drop soup, and sweet sour pork (minus calamari). The server asked, "Would you like the lunch portion or dinner portion?" I know lunch is smaller-sized, so I picked it. To my surprise, the server placed ONE personal small bowl of the soup. A few minutes later, he came back with A PLATE of SWEET SOUR PORK WITH CHOW MEIN AND A SMALL SCOOP OF RICE. My jaws dropped to the floor. The items we ordered were mostly presented in a serving plate or bowl that can be shared. Besides, I DID NOT order a COMBO MEAL, I ordered A LA CARTE, so why were we served a cup-sized soup and a COMBO MEAL PLATE????? I did not complain. The sweet sour pork was SOGGY and room temperature - kind of obvious it was not freshly-cooked but more likely MICROWAVED. Again, I did not complain. WE WERE ALREADY DONE EATING when the "APPETIZER" CHICKEN WINGS was served. My husband only consumed ONE wing, and I also tried it... ONE wing. The chicken wings tasted OLD, and it was NOT prepared the way Jade China used to prepare it (CORN or TAPIOCA STARCH, NOT flour). That was it. I was done. We were done. This is not the same Jade China we used to enjoy.
Cathay Chinese Food
Stopped by to grab a quick lunch the lady at the counter was very friendly and gave me a good amount of food for the price got some jalapeño chicken ( bomb ) some orange chicken ( also really good ) and lo mein The lo mein Looked kinda plan but ended up having some really good flavor everything I got was good and I Will definitely come back For more
I rarely do reviews, especially bad ones, but I’m making an exception for this place! We got take out from here for Valentine’s Day - big mistake! It has 4 stars so I thought it was safe to give it a try. Should have taken the time to read individual reviews. This was by far the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had! Ordered three different chicken entrees - orange, teriyaki, and spicy garlic - all tasted the same. The bbq pork was extremely dry, tasted like it had been reheated more than once or sat around way too long. I specified a time to pick it up, got there 15 minutes early and expected to wait but it was already all boxed up so it was cold when we got home (even though we live literally 5 minutes away). Ended up throwing most of it out. Never again!!
Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors
I had the Drunken Noodles with chicken. I was surprised how much chicken was in the dish. Tasted pretty good. My son had Thai Basil Chicken Cashews, the flavor was ok, however it had more red chilies than chicken. I guess there were different cooks that prepared our meals
This is a mixed bag of frustration, waits, and pretty good food for the prices. Walking into the place that has a few people in line and nice lit up side, was decent. I got up and ordered and got my number number while waiting for my food. We got general chicken, Mongolian beef, and some wontons. We also go both with rice and chow Mein. The prices are decent and they have a decent menu. However, after twenty minutes I had to go up and ask the status of my food. Turns out they didn’t start it or had lost it. Another twenty minutes and I go up and ask and my food is sitting there. Very frustrating but the food was great. Just ask for your food after a few minutes or you’ll never get it!
Jin Xiu Chef K
The lady at the front was very kind to me and my friend, they got the food out fast as well!
Amazing food and the workers were very friendly I will be back!
Hong Kong Express
Fast and friendly service, delicious food, and low prices. Definitely recommend!
Came at 12pm on Saturday; Was The Only Customer but Was Greeted Right Away! I've been here once before and Loved the food and the good prices; spent right under $15 for the 3 item combo plus rice n chow mein; and a Mandarin Jaritos included. Well worth it! I was going to go to inn n out then changed my mind. I'll make the drive out of town to come here always! Thank You! Hong Kong Express 😁ps. I should of taken pictures before I devoured half of it already lol. Very Delicious!!!🤤 I recommend everything on the Menu. $1 Tip Included 🫶. Had to update my review with more pictures; I went again the following day. A++++++++++
So China
So much better than P.E.! We came on a Wednesday and there was no wait. Food came out fast and hot, and I love that they serve it in to-go containers because the portions are plentiful for the cost. Probably the best take out on this end of in town. Orange chicken, Mongolian Beef and chow mein. Also ordered the cheese wontons. Everything was on point. Will definitely return.
Been searching for a good fast food Chinese spot like this from San Diego to Riverside and hands down the orange chicken here stands out. It puts all fast food Chinese restaurants around town in last place. If you are looking for quality take out I would go here. I did order after 4pm so could not get a combo plate. But I was able to get orange chicken plate bowl of rice and noodles and fed 2 adults and one child. I would recommend this place. It's not much of a dine in place very empty. But definitely great to take home!
Red Ginger China Bistro
Walked out of here absolutely full, with a bunch of leftovers having paid extremely reasonable prices for the food and service. The staff was friendly, helpful and was consistently keeping an eye on us making sure our needs were met. I tried 5 different menu items as my whole group shared and each one was delicious. I noticed they have some amazing lunch specials and an excellent Ramen menu so I'll be returning soon.
We were disappointed because the food was not good according to the ratings we expected a bit more but everything was bland except the thai ice tea. We dint bother taking the leftovers because it would just be a waste of space in the refrigerator.
