Mamahuhu
Enjoyed the super savory chicken sandwich and the mango oat milk sundae here. The breading on the chicken is very tasty and crispy, though the sandwich admittedly has an absurd amount of aioli/mayo. Oat milk ice cream was beautifully silky and the sharp mango topping was perfectly refreshing.
ordered the tingly chicken sandwich and it was so delicious. waited around 15min but there weren’t that many people. the chicken was juicy and fried really well, crispy but not overdone, and the spice and sauces were all really delicious as well. the pineapple bun was fluffy and complemented the spice well. i liked the spicy sauce it came with and the pickled veggies as well. not sure about the rest of their menu but would definitely come back for the sandwich again, and to try their other sandwiches!
Gourmet Dim Sum and Cafe
We enjoyed the dim sum takeout items overall, but the best was the hargow and siu mai. The turnip cakes were also good. They only had plain rice noodles available at the time. It was a little thicker than we are used to. They did not provide the usual sauce for the rice noodle. And they also do not have hot sauce. Wish they had seating for customers. It was a bit of a long wait because there was only one staff but eventually a second one came along to help because a line was forming. Service was perfunctory.
Good prices. Soft and plump shrimp and chive dumplings, bbq pork buns and soft and not too salty, pork dumplings wrapped in wonton skins are huge.
Chili House SF
It is very busy place, and we were lucky that we booked ahead. Food was not that tasty. We had cold chicken and the amount of bones was too much. Tofu was taking their time, we waited for a while, tofu was very good. We enjoyed it. Beef dumplings taste pretty much pork. Overall not bad experience.
Wasn’t able to try the peking duck, but wow! Food here was amazing! The pickled sichuan fish soup was exceptional! So good and soothing, while a bit spicy! The other dishes were also very well made! You always need to have some authentic Chinese food once in a while. Super recommended!
Sichuan Home
This place was highly recommended by friends for authentic food. The vibe was so perfect for a cozy dinner at a local restaurant. We got the vegetarian Dan Dan, vegetarian Mapo tofu, veggie dumplings, and hot soy milk. The Dan Dan and soy milk were the best! The tofu was good- tasted standard. The dumplings were okay, we wished there was more flavor in the filling. Overall, would return!
finally tried sichuan home for lunch after hearing the rave reviews and it lives up to its accolades. cozy and comforting environment with the kindest servers, sichuan home feels like an unassuming neighborhood restaurant with amazing food. the complimentary cabbage side dish and fruit dessert were a great touch. would come back! spicy fish & chinese herb spice: the perfect spice level and packed with the mala spice flavor. large portion. highly recommend. garlic eggplant: the perfect side dish leaning on the sweeter side to offset the rest of the sichuan spice. veggie chow mein: standard fare, you know what to expect. fried chicken: don’t remember the exact name but super crispy and perfectly cooked.
Dragon River Restaurant
February 2024: Enjoyed a family dinner on a Thursday night. We pre-ordered the chicken stuffed with sticky rice. This dish is quite enjoyable because it's fried chicken stuffed with sticky rice that has a lot of delicious ingredients mixed in. This place did a good job. Peking Duck was excellent. The skin was very crispy 😋. Fish fillet with asparagus was a Big hit too. Simple and cooked perfectly. The white chicken with ginger sauce was another good dish. Everything was tasty 😋. We ordered the pork belly taro clay pot dish that is an old time favorite and hard to find nowadays. Everyone enjoyed that too. Overall, had a nice family dinner to celebrate Chinese New Year.
Very good experience. We had Mu Shu Vegetables, Pickles with Fish Fillet, and Lotus with Fried Shrimp. So good!
Hunan Cafe #2
I’m pretty sure the lady that works at front is the nicest human in the whole world. So friendly, so welcoming. The food is unbelievably fresh, not heavy at all. Super tasty, 100% the best Chinese place around. Trip #2 update: order the ginger onion chicken. It is absolutely fantastic. Furthermore, Lily actually tried to come out in the atmospheric river to bring my food to my car because literally, like mentioned before, she is the best person on the planet.
It’s literally the best place you could go to eat it has the best Chinese food ever and it is my favorite restaurant and you should take your kids yourself you parents you grandparents you get what I’m saying this is a great restaurant and you should absolutely go here I’ve been here a lot and it is open most of the time and u absolutely love the food and would give it 100000000 stars if I could but I can’t so 5 will do the waiter is really nice and the place is old but they do an excellent job cleaning it up and it is very nice and I am convinced that she is undoubtedly the nicest person ever. In conclusion, the food is the best ever, the people there are extremely nice the waiters name being lily if you are wondering, also the atmospheres really nice as it is clean. Go there now or you will regret it.
WenChang Dumpling Restaurant
Delicious food, off the beaten path, yet worth it. Fresh, high quality chicken The sesame chicken was unique and delightful. The buns and dumplings were incredible. I devoured them without much of an appetite, literally that good. The staff works hard to keep things flowing.
We had two w sum dishes , and the Singapore rice noodles. Both were delicious, freshly made, and I particularly enjoyed being able to pick which kind of protein for the Singapore rice noodles. Big portions, reasonable prices, leftovers for tonight!
Hakka Restaurant
Very good Chicken with sticky rice, something different that can’t be found at most restaurant. The chicken very crispy!! Great tofu and salted egg pumpkin, Steamed pork belly is (above) OK - NOT that WOW but good to order Fast service, 1 waiter but very efficient and friendly service. Would definitely come to eat here if we go to SF again. Nice neighborhood (residential area). Street parking (free) but need to go around to find a spot
Love this place. Accidentally discovered it when I was getting lost around the Golden Gate Bridge and love it. It’s a hidden gem. You can tell it’s family run and they are delightful and attentive. But be careful, there is a similar restaurant nearby, but this one isn’t nearly as packed which is a shame as they have superior food. My order is always the same, potstickers and vermicelli. Wish I lived in the city so I could get it Doordashed or delivered. A majority of the menu is in Mandarin and with very little English, but trust me it is so delicious that you will over look that. Parking is limited. Sometimes I have to walk several blocks to park, but again, it’s worth it.
Hong Kong Lounge
Hong Kong Lounge has been a staple in my life since I was a kid, and it continues to impress with its classic Chinese cuisine. Nestled in the Richmond district, this restaurant consistently serves some of the best Chinese food in the area. Whether you're craving dim sum or a full banquet-style meal, their menu is packed with flavorful, authentic options that never disappoint. The back room is a hidden gem, perfect for hosting banquets or larger gatherings. It's spacious and has that traditional charm that makes any celebration feel extra special. What really sets Hong Kong Lounge apart is their consistent quality and the nostalgic vibe that comes with every visit. If you're looking for top-tier Chinese food in the Richmond district, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!
Liked my experience here! I got the cilantro chive rice roll, pork and taro fried dumplings, shrimp and bamboo dumplings, garlic bokchoy, and fried tofu skin with shrimp inside. The tea was delicious!!! The service was quality! It smelled a little strange inside though. The bokchoy was yummy but could have been cooked a little longer to be more tender. The pork and taro dumpling was too fried for me personally and super greasy. The tofu skin was quite fried but still yummy! Not too expensive for the quality and service. Might go back again!
Feng Ze Yuan Restaurant
Excellent dim sum restaurant! We visited on a Sunday right when they opened at 10:30. By 11 the restaurant was full. Wide range of options, we had a squab & an assortment of dumplings. You can’t go wrong. Everything was delicious. Fast & friendly service as well. Highly recommended!
We recently visited this Chinese restaurant with a big family group, and they did a great job accommodating us. Their menu was extensive and up-to-date, with plenty of set meal options to suit everyone's tastes, which we really appreciated. However, the service was a bit slow during our visit, likely because there was only one hardworking waiter managing all the tables. They were doing their best, but it did affect the overall experience. As for the food, it was a mixed bag—some dishes were absolutely delightful, while others fell short of expectations. With so many options on the menu, it might take a bit of trial and error to find your favorites. Overall, this spot is worth a visit if you’re looking for variety and a place that welcomes larger groups. Just be prepared to be patient with the service and adventurous with the menu!
Empero Taste
Fantastic food and value. You get a soup and rice is included if it’s before 5 pm. Will be back for more. Lobster noodles, oysters, fried calamari, and this clam dish were all cooked to perfection.
This is a favorite location for seniors nearby especially if you like inexpensive price and large portions according to my auntie’s. It is basically comfort food. If you order family style, it comes with their house soup. We ordered, string beef with beef, salt and pepper pork chop, sweet sauce fried chicken (Omg. Delicious), tofu with beef and clay pot dish with eggplant. Everything was good but my favorite was the sweet sauce fried chicken. Would I come back? Definitely. It also got mom’s stamp of approval..
Fuwa Dumpling
Some of the best dumplings and dumpling soup I’ve had! Everything tastes clean and light. The dumpling wrappers are especially great - they’re thick but light and have a good chew but still soft. You can see the noodles and dumplings being made fresh. Can’t wait to come back.
Absolutely delicious. Beef pancakes, beef & onion dumplings, corn & chicken dumplings, beef noodle soup, pork soup dumplings 🔥🔥🔥. Everything was amazing. The beef pancakes i could eat everyday of my life. Friendly people. I work in NYC this place beat them all. Thank you!!
