Don't let the faded exterior fool you! It serves delicious Cantonese-style food with an open kitchen. Plenty of affordable lunch specials and regular dishes. The ~$14 lunch special (before tax) comes with a great portion, a spring roll and hot & sour soup, The food is freshly cooked and flavorful. Professional chefs, friendly staff and fast service. Takeout is also available!

Love this place. I'll be so sad when they rebuild this block and we lose them. Best Chinese in the Frelard/Greenwood area. Fun to watch them cook it right in front of you, always have interesting meals for their own lunch. Friendly staff, fast preparation and delicious food. Lots of options and lunch vs dinner specials. Ask for higher spice, they are geared for local low tolerance star values. Large family table with rotating center for sharing, small private tables for couples. Come enjoy the food or order for take out like I often do.

We got the Prawn and Chive dumplings, Pork Belly Buns, Garlic Three Way Fried Rice, Scallop Prawn Gung Bao, and the Original Sin cocktail. Everything was very tasty. If you cannot do spice the Pork Belly Buns are a great choice. Two of three people in our party are gluten free and there were many options to cater to their allergies. The bartender even took time explain what the restaurants’ bar entailed and let us try a baijiu they have. They also have two clean bathrooms.

our original bday dinner plans didn’t pan out so we went here last minute- we have never been happier!!!! wonderful food, absolutely amazing service and beautiful atmosphere. highly recommend going after the sunsets, the evening lighting is wonderful. we had the Sichuan babyback ribs, hot mala chicken and green beans and all three were fantastic. we also had the “original sin” and “if only i had a sword” for drinks and omg highly highly recommend. i wish we lived closer. well worth the cost!! the two servers that helped us were absolutely wonderful, big thanks to them next time we are in seattle this is the first place we are going to!!!!!

Excellent lunch specials. All entree for $9-$10. Comes with fried rice, plus complimentary hot n sour soup 🥣 if you dine in.Very kind people. My go-to for lunch 😁 Generous quantity, will even add fried rice for leftovers 💕 My favs: Fish with garlic sauce, chicken Lomein,

Not good, green bean beef was all beans and about 1/3 of the beef that should be in a beef entreé and arrived cool to the touch. The hot and sour soup was under-seasoned and contained cheap frozen vegetables where I would have expected wood ear mushrooms. Staff forgot us several times. They were stingy with the napkins—they hadn’t wiped off the table after the people before us left so we had to wipe it ourselves. Not returning.

One of the more pleasant culinary surprises in a long time. I was in the WalMart parking lot charging my car, needed to kill some time, and was hungry. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but I hadn’t had Chinese in a while and said, why not? Let’s do it. I was seated immediately (it was a odd dining hour). To my very pleasant surprise, the food was really good! Frankly, I was expecting average Americanized Chinese food and I ended up with better than average by a decent margin. Highly recommended.

This place is a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere is confusing, but all that is forgotten once the food arrives. The walnut shrimp is amazing, plump and beautifully cooked. Bacon fried rice actually contained enough bacon to earn its name. Wonton soup was steaming upon arrival and continued to stay hot as we served up our food. Wontons are perfect! Not overly crunchy or oily. The pandemic hit this place hard and it’s sad to see it getting lost within the fast food restaurants that surround it. Would love to see business begin to grow again, so sushi can hit as hard as its pictures! Don’t be discouraged when you walk through the doors, take a seat and enjoy this hidden gem before it’s gone.

Incredible experience. The Sichuan spicy beef noodle stew was exactly what I was expecting. Beef was pull apart tender and the savory broth had the spicy numbing effect throughout.

- just alright, say no to pig's snout!!! - We came here mostly because I got a coupon for spending more than $88 at Asian food center on their anniversary or some sort. Upon entry, you need to put your name on the wait-list using the little tablet. We waited for maybe 20 minutes before getting seated for dinner. The place was packed, but there was a lot of potential for extra tables.. We ordered mapo tofu 麻婆豆腐, sweet and sour spareribs 糖醋小排, and Sichuan string beans 乾癟四季豆. We also get a free country stir-fried with house smoked pig's snout 農家香香嘴. They also don't give you rice for free, so we had to get a bowl of rice as well. The mapo tofu was not like other places, the sauce is mostly red like chili oil. Not the style I like. The string beans were fine but a little dry for us. The sweet and sour spareribs was really good, but the portion is super small and it's mostly bones. Maybe that's why that fish is $14.99 when others were like $20s. We didn't enjoy it the taste of pig's snout and it was a bit "too strong" for us. We ended up not touching that free dish. Overall the meal here was disappointing, and I think we probably ordered the wrong thing. I'd probably come back here to try their other dishes, but given that it's a bit far from us now, it will take another 5-10 years for that to happen :p.

It’s one of the places where I want to recommend, but not too much because while I enjoy it a lot, I don’t want it to be too popular that could increase the wait time in peak hours. The food here is authentic Hunan style, which means it can be very spicy for certain dishes. I come here monthly at least since it opened and has been constantly enjoyed the place so far.

I was delighted to find Fan Tang, as their rice noodles perfectly replicate the flavors I remember from my childhood. The quality is excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. The restaurant itself provides a pleasant dining experience.

Pleasant surprise and the ordering is via a self serve kiosk. Try the Rose Ice milk - very refreshing made with fermented rice. My son demolished the orange chicken and beef fried rice

This is the cleanest, brightest place I’ve been to in a long time. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. We had garlic green beans, a noodle dish, onion pancakes and chicken. I can’t wait to go back again.

I got an order to go and the service and packaging was great. I ordered a clay pot and was especially impressed that they managed to get crispy rice on the bottom even though it was in a sturdy aluminum container instead of in a clay pot! I liked the flavor and the ingredients were fresh and good quality.

Great presentation and good food. Nice to have this style of cuisine around. Just needs a bit more flavor.

Food is okay. Try a wide variety. I did ask for 4 out of 5 stars on spice and could barely taste it... so it may be hit or miss on that for you. Order ahead of time if you pick up - may be 20+ minute wait.

Awful experience.i ordered 1 chow min and honey walnut shrimp, very discussed. Never going back and I do not recommend to anyone.$50 and it's not worth it.

Went to Yu-Mei’s Uptown China Restaurant for the first time. My husband discovered this restaurant by searching “Vegan Chinese” in Seattle, WA on a search engine. We ordered Mongolian Beef (for me), Sesame Tofu (for him), and a side dish of Broccoli with Tangy Garlic Sauce. Super delicious and very fresh tasting. The atmosphere was very pleasant and cozy! Also, outstanding customer service!!! Highly recommended!!! Love love love it 😍!!!

Valentine’s Dinner at Uptown China Restaurant Had an amazing Valentine’s dinner at Uptown China Restaurant! The ambiance was okay, with ample seating space and an extensive menu. One great thing is that they offer a fixed vegan menu upon request, which was a pleasant surprise. Another plus is their dedicated parking lot behind the restaurant, making it super convenient. For appetizers, we started with the Spicy Dragon Mushrooms—the perfect way to kick off the evening. Even though the dish was deep-fried, the exterior had no signs of oil, making it light yet crispy on the outside and perfectly chewy on the inside. For the main course, I had the Vegetable Tofu Lo Mein, which was a bit bland and could have used more salt and spice. We also ordered the Ying Yang Prawns, which came with two types of sauces—Hunan and walnut. It was absolutely delicious, and my husband enjoyed it thoroughly! The portion sizes were generous, and overall, the food was tasty. Definitely a spot worth trying, especially if you’re looking for variety, accommodating options, and hassle-free parking!

I was craving chicken fried rice, so we gave this place a try. The service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere was okay. The prices were okay, but the food was lacking. My fried rice was very mediocre, almost like microwaved frozen. It was greasy, extra salty, and had large chunks of onion. My friend had sesame chicken which I sampled. It was lackluster as well. Not sure what they were going for with this dish. I am used to good or even great Chinese food, but this just wasn’t either. Very disappointed.

Food came out so fast I wasn't prepared for it, honestly. Service is amazing. Food tastes great! I ordered the beef and broccoli / sweet and sour chicken combo plate. The egg drop soup tasted great. The BBQ pork was splendid. My buddy devoured his beef chow mein, and we haven't found good chow mein in a while. If you're in poulsbo, definitely come here

Delivery is super fast, food arrives hot and crispy. Salt and pepper tofu and egg rolls are my favorite. The moo shoo is delicious. Try the green noodles they are fresh and hand shaven, delicious and beautiful.

Had a great experience eating at New China Express. The meal portions were great, and the Restaurant owners were welcoming.
