Don't let the exterior fool you. There's good eats to be found here. They have the classic Chinese dishes you'd expect, and they do it really well. I tried the Beef Chow Funn Gravy Style today and it's now my go-to dish. Everything about it was delicious, and I can't wait for my leftovers for lunch tomorrow. They also make their orange chicken, general tso's, and sesame chicken with a batter before it's fried, and it always turns out great. It somehow remains crispy. I think if you're craving Chinese take-out, this place will hit the spot. Also, if you're looking for a big portion, then you definitely need to come here.

Literally my favorite restaurant ever. My family has been going here for my whole life and it's like comfort food for me. Everything is soooo delicious, but my favorites are the General TSO's Chicken, which has the right amount of sweet and spice, the handmade Chow Mein that comes with beef and brocolli, and the Egg Drop Soup. Also try the egg rolls, crab Rangoon, and honestly anything because it's going to be delicious. The family who runs the business is so kind and professional, especially the owner, who is just the sweetest woman. Love Fu Shen so much!! 💗

Good for what it was, so much onion that wasn’t pictured on the picture of it. The flavor is there but also not really, adding Siracha made it somewhat tolerable. I also wish they added Chinese broccoli or something $90 on 2 meals 2 drinks and a soup. 😅prawns+broccoli added beef with medium rice and orange chicken with large rice and large egg drop soup which were all really good 2 sprite

they delivered quickly and the chicken was still crunchy! we got the spicy garlic tofu and the honey walnut chicken. they were both really good!! we got the large (32oz) or rice to go along with our two entrees and it was more than enough! :)

I was excited to try Chuan BBQ from looking at the positive reviews, and I quickly realized during my meal that all the positive reviews were fake, and the negative reviews were truthful about this restaurant. The owner is an asian UW graduate, and you can notice that all the glowing reviews are from asian reviewers, which are likely the owner's friends doing tons of reviews to falsely prop up the business. None the less, I gave it a go, and bought quite a large variety of items (screenshot of order provided). For starters, it looks like the little "grills" on the table would contribute to grilling/cooking the food, but unfortunately its just for show to keep your food warm - under the foil, are 2 wax small candles. This was clearly communicated when you are seated. There are a few pros to this restaurant, but the cons far outweigh the pros. For that reason, I give it a 2/5. This place did not initially offer karaoke, but im assuming this was implemented to help get more people into the door. Pros: - The owner is super nice & friendly, and pretty attentive to the tables - The spicy cumin flavor that was used is quite tasty and balanced well - sweet/salty/spicy - When they grill the items, they were cooked well, and not over/under cooked - Karaoke room is free for customers if it is not occupied. Cons: - The price for what you get & portions are not the best - Almost every single grilled item on the menu uses the exact same seasoning, and a little too liberally. Proof in the pictures - The repitive seasoning overpowers the taste of the actual ingredient, and it borderline hides the quality/freshness of what was cooked. Most of the items seemed like it was from frozen and not fresh, except for the grilled mushrooms - I ordered 10 different grilled items, and they all had the exact same taste/seasoning, with some items with way too much seasoning - Beef Tongue, Beef Tendon, Pork Belly, Hot Iron Squid, grilled yellow croaker, bullfrog leg, grilled fish tofu, japanese grilled fish (mackrel), Grilled muishrooms, grilled beef meatball - When serving water, there was no matching cups, and while its not a big deal for me, it can be for others. While most reviews are 5 stars here, look at the lower rated reviews, as they will provide an actual unbaised glimpse into what you're getting yourself into. I'm glad to have tried it, but i will not be coming back again.

Chuan BBQ was a complete disappointment, far from what the glowing Google reviews might suggest. Despite the inviting photos I took, this restaurant turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I took my wife on a Friday night, it was the worst date night experience ever. Ambiance: 1/5 The restaurant had a strange, unpleasant smell upon arrival, which was a major turn-off. It’s hard to tell if this is a barbecue joint or a karaoke lounge, as the boss kept pushing karaoke services on us during the meal. Authenticity: 1.5/5 The dishes were heavily seasoned—likely to mask the lack of freshness. The chicken gristle, which should have been grilled, was inexplicably fried. We asked for extra spicy but never asked for extra salty. The grilled fish was $19 and it was unacceptable salty. I couldn’t have second bite of it . The grilled squid came last because we heard the owner talking to herself that the squid was not defrosted quick enough. When the grilled squid came , it had no grill flavor but only some sweet sauce. We have been many BBQ places in LA and China since me and my wife are both grow up there , never had such bad experiences for BBQ. Flavor: 1/5 If you’re into excessively salty food, this might be your spot. For me, it was unbearable—easily the saltiest meal I’ve ever encountered. The lukewarm barbecue didn’t help the situation either. Cost: 2/5 Considering the low quality of the food and the odd experience, this place is overpriced. Service: 2/5 The only redeeming factor was the awkwardly friendly boss, who seemed determined to upsell every dish and push karaoke. Despite that, the service pace was decent, possibly because I was visibly checking in on Yelp. Final Thoughts: Chuan BBQ is a hard pass. Between the overpowering salt, questionable food freshness, weird atmosphere, and karaoke confusion, I can’t recommend this place. Skip it and save yourself the regret.

Had a wonderful dinner at this Northeastern Chinese restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the staff lady was incredibly warm and welcoming. We ordered the braised pork with vegetables, which came with potatoes, green beans, and tomatoes. What really impressed me was how well the vegetables were cooked—especially the ones that can sometimes have a strong taste, like tomatoes or eggplant. Everything was stewed to perfection and paired so well with rice. Another thoughtful touch was that the restaurant served complimentary tea, which balanced the flavors nicely if the dishes felt a bit salty. We also ordered two cold side dishes, and both were refreshing and delicious. Highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys authentic Northeastern Chinese cuisine!

Delicious food, excellent tea, and wonderful service! My friend and I ordered some braised pork belly, and it’s the first non-crunchy pork belly I’ve ever fully enjoyed. The pork was super tender and flavorful, and we finished every bite of the meat, noodles, and veggies along with two pots of tea. The portions were generous (and affordable!), and we were getting full, but I really wanted to try their dumplings. We got some shrimp, pork, and chive dumplings, and they were fantastic (also the soup dumpling variety with broth inside). I would have never found this spot without my friend and can’t wait to visit again soon! Our servers were incredibly sweet and attentive!

This place is a hidden gem, wish we tried it sooner! We were so impressed with the flavor of the hot and sour soup, perfectly balanced salt and acidity with a depth to it, great amount of mushroom and other veg. The walnut shrimp a tad on the sweeter side but the shrimp were enormous, incredibly juicy and plump. We were also pleased with the crispness of the buns (though would get pork next time instead of veg) and would order the wings again. The service was top notch - the waiters were so proactive in filling water and tea and packaged our leftovers for us 🥹 and plenty of PARKING. Love this place, we’ll be back soon!

Solid 4/4.5 spot. I liked how they had so many types of Chinese cuisine from sichuan to chongqing to American Chinese. The pork pan fried buns were the best I’ve had in Seattle! Meaty, juicy, and a crispy bun. Overall everything was authentic and was also happy that there were other Chinese people enjoying their food which let me know this place was worth it.

Dry Pot Beef Brisket with Potato Slices – So good! Love that this upscale restaurant has an open kitchen, ready to customize dishes exactly how you want. A perfect meal made just for me!

I had an issue with my order that was likely caused by the ordering app—it showed an impossible menu option that shouldn’t have been selectable. I even had screenshots proving this mistake. When I first informed the restaurant, they made me wait 10 minutes before offering two choices: wait an hour for the kitchen to clean before they’d remake my dish, or get a refund. Since it was already 8:30 PM, waiting wasn’t really an option. But then they changed their stance, saying a refund was only possible if I brought the incorrect item back inside—which was already in my car. To make things worse, they dismissed the evidence I showed them and instead told me to "be more careful with my selection next time," as if the mistake was mine. At this point, I was tired, frustrated, and just hungry, so I reluctantly agreed to try something different. Unfortunately, the food I received was greasy and not what we expected. My wife and I ended up with stomach aches afterward, making the experience even worse. After all that back-and-forth, I wasted $26 on food we could barely eat. Mistakes happen, but the way a business handles them is just as important as the food they serve. In this case, the lack of accountability, dismissive attitude, and poor customer service made this a truly disappointing experience.

I had a great meal at Jiangnan Restaurant. The place is clean, nicely decorated, and has a cozy atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the service was quick. The food was delicious—especially the Spicy Pickled Pepper Bullfrog and Shrimp. Everything was fresh, well-cooked, and full of flavor. You can tell they put care into each dish. If you’re looking for tasty and authentic Jiangnan-style food, this is a great spot to try. I’d definitely go back and recommend it to others.

We were excited to try out this new restaurant, especially the Peking duck. Browsing through the menu was super exciting as there are so many dishes we want to try. Then reality struck. The pork belly in the braised pork belly in black tea sauce was tough. It's supposed to be a delicate dish that melts in your mouth. But this dish was chewy. There were more fried dough than chicken in the deep-fried dried chicken with dried pepper. I think they could do away with the fried dough. The fried rice was very disappointing too. It didn't look appetizing, and the taste lacked "wok hei" Finally the duck showed up. Instead of showing us the whole duck, it was already sliced and set on a plate. The skin color didn't look anything like the picture on the window. The skin was somewhat crispy, but the meat is a bit cold. We've tried Iden Quan Ju De in Vancouver. If that was a 10 in Iden, then Jiang Nan's would be around 5 at most. It lacks presentation, freshness, and crispiness. But the overall taste is okay, probably not worth the price tag. The operational flow of the restaurant is still not smooth as the staff is new. They would forget to check in on our table. We had to flag them down several times to refill our drinks or switch out the plates for wrapping the duck dish. The ordering process was completely awkward as there's only one tablet for the entire table to browse through the menu. The ordering was confusing as well as tlit asked us to enter the table number. Then we found out we were seated in a different table than what they had told us from the front desk. The serving staff brought us several dishes that we hadn't ordered. We told them we didn't order those, or we could have gotten extra dishes for free. Unfortunately it wasn't a great experience as we had high expectations for such a supposedly high caliber restaurant. Perhaps we would give it another chance in six months after they work out all the flaws in their process.

Came here because we saw some decent reviews on Google. It was a Saturday afternoon when we came. The food was ok. Soup dumplings were a bit cold by the time we received our order. The entire order took a while to be prepared, and it turns out the crepe was the hold up. Felt like the kitchen could’ve timed the rest of the items better to keep everything fresh/hot. The pan-seared buns were actually far juicier and tastier than the soup dumplings and definitely the start of the meal. They also sell frozen items as well.

We came here because of a friend’s recommendation, and it turned out to be great! We enjoyed the fried soup dumplings, steamed soup dumplings and Jian Bing. Those dumplings were very juicy. The side dishes such as cucumber and sichuan cabbage were also pretty good. It’s a nice place for a quick bite.

Peony offers an upscale Chinese dining experience, with prices reflective of the generous portions. The cuisine stays true to its roots, though some dishes cater to American tastes. Beware of the beef ribeye fried rice, though—it's hit or miss. Last time, it was exceptional; this time, the beef had a hint of sourness. The restaurant’s vibe is uniquely appealing for a Chinese eatery, but the service could use improvement, which seems to be common in the area. Convenient parking nearby makes it a spot worth trying.

We ended up eating family-style at this location, having some of the spicy crispy fish fillet, mapo tofu w/ pork, eggplant w/ beans, pork soup dumplings, and ribeye steak with rice The concept of including a rice dish to eat some of the other dishes with was smart because none of the other dishes came with rice I thought the mapo tofu was the best of these. It wasn’t really spicy - definitely more on the sweet side, but I thought the flavor really came through here. Both the tofu and the pork were pretty fantastic as well Surprisingly, I also enjoyed the eggplant and green beans. Normally, I don’t like eggplant, but the fact that it was good here was impressive. I liked how soft it became after cooking I can’t say I liked the other things I had though The soup dumplings were fine, but they were certainly lacking on the soup. The pork wasn’t that great either The ribeye steak included in the rice didn’t taste well cooked at all - it was difficult to break apart and not very good With the spicy & crispy fish fillet - I liked the spice level, and the inside was pretty good, but I thought the breading was light and the spice being a dry spice made it difficult to eat more than a couple, even mixing it with rice. This place is quite expensive - as most of our dishes were over 25 dollars. I don’t think it’s worth that price Overall, definitely not one of the top-tier Chinese food I’ve had, but not the worst either. 6.5/10

Thank you Queena and team! This place is a true gem! A small family run spot with a big impact! I had honey walnut prawns with house fried rice. The rice was perfectly authentic and packed with flavor. The prawns were absolutely delicious! The shrimp toast is an east coast favorite definitely try it as it made my heart happy it was sooo good! iAlso the house made chili oil 😍 don’t forget to get a cocktail while you wait! 10/10 Ty!

I recently dined at Best Wok with my team, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience! As a group that primarily ordered vegan items, we were thrilled with the variety and quality of the dishes. One standout dish was the Hot and Spicy Hunan Tofu. It was absolutely amazing—perfectly spiced and packed with flavour. The ambiance was inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. If you’re in Bellevue and looking for a great place to enjoy vegan Chinese cuisine, I highly recommend Best Wok. You won’t be disappointed!

Had a quick lunch here today and ordered the Mao's pork belly and wood ear mushrooms with garlic sauce. Came with a side of rice. Food was super tasty (albeit super spicy) and would 100% come here again! Service was quick and friendly and they packaged my leftovers for me.

This place is solid. I think they’re fairly new. Went for some lunch and it was not very busy. The food was really good and tasty. Really enjoyed the duck. Service was quick and nice.

We stopped by this place for lunch at around noon. There were tongs and bowls right at the door. They offered variety of vegetables, mushrooms, meat, seafood and many kind of noodles, and even duck blood. After picking the food, you could choose with broth or dry, weigh and pay by lb. Mine was 1.5 lbs and I couldn’t even finish. I chose only one of each. My husband bowl was 2.3 lbs and it was barely any broth. We both got beef broth with level 3 spicy. The broth had good favor but little too salty for me. Spicy level was good and not too crazy for me at level 3. There was a sauce area which was kinda nice but the soup was too salty to use the sauce. I was kinda concerned about freshness of food in fridge. It seemed it wasn’t cold enough. Some of the meat are placed right at the fridge door. And because the place was so busy so it seemed like the door was never closed. After sitting down, the place got really busy. People were waiting to get food and then there were people were waiting to get the table. Wondering what if their food was ready and didn’t even have the table. Also, It was very hard to hear when they called that the food was ready. I hope they have a different system for it. Overall, it was nice to try but not worthy to comeback.

Tip: you can weigh your bowl any time while choosing your ingredients- you don’t have to wait til the end to weigh. I really really enjoyed this spot. Really fun choosing what you want in your bowl. Lot of noodles/starch options. Lot of protein options (tofu, meat, seafood, poultry). Want just one muscle or one meatball? Go for it! Want a lot of tofu? Totally up to you! Lots of veggie options too. Tasted the beef broth and tomato broth and they were so flavorful. Love the sauce bar as well! I will be back when they have the Tom yum back in stock.
