New Peking Chinese Restaurant
New Peking is where the old Jerusalem Cafe used to be. We love trying new places especially if they're in our back yard! We were immediately greeted by a young gentleman who set our table up and returned shortly with soup. A great touch and we thought the service meter spiked at that point. We ordered Orange Chicken and Four Happiness. Food was fresh and flavorful and we stuffed ourselves. The menu is quaint and not loaded up with 100's of dishes, which we like. Dining in was great and recommend that over takeout any day. Really had a great experience and will be a frequent flyer here.
Loved it!! Probably some of the best potstickers and crab puffs I've ever had. I really liked the House Special Lo Mein, it was very well made! My brother's Orange Chicken was not very good, however. It really lacked flavor and the coating on the chicken was a little too dense to be enjoyable. Maybe the spicy orange chicken has more flavor? I tried to tell him to order that version. But we both really liked the place! The service was excellent and we enjoyed the atmosphere. I fully expect this to become my go-to local Chinese restaurant!!
Tai Chin Chinese Restaurant
The service here was quite pleasant and considerate! I did my customary tasting of pan-fried noodles and it was fairly decent and yummy. We also tried their general tso tofu which had an excellent if not really spicy sauce. Would be down to come here again should the opportunity present itself!
I hadn’t been here since they changed ownership. What a nice change! Food: 5/5 - there are 2 kinds of menus - Chefs Special (authentic Cantonese dishes)and Westernized Asian food. We had a hankering for authentic Chinese food. They did not disappoint! Thanks to ‘uncle’ who made us a delicious meal. Our favorite were the chicken chow fun and deep fried pork spareribs. They accommodated our requests to skip eggplant in one dish and to cook another dish less spicy. Atmosphere: 5/5 - place was newly renovated with new furniture and a fresh coat of paint. Clean & inviting place to dine whether it’s a small or bigger group. Service: 5/5 - our server was great and offered some suggestions. Overall I’ll definitely will be back when I am in the area again! If you want authentic Cantonese food, this is the place to go. Make sure you ask for the authentic menu.
Taste of China Chinese Restaurant
This is absolutely the best Chinese food in the entire state! We have been looking for such a long time to find chinese food that is good & authentic and this place far exceeds our expectations every time we come here! They have the best customer service. They are so friendly and welcoming and we could not be happier after we found this place! We will not go anywhere else after finding them! You won’t be disappointed!
This is my all time favorite restaurant and I can’t help but choose it for my birthday dinner every year. You won’t find better mongolian beef, sesame chicken, low mein or potstickers anywhere else I’m so serious. I’ve heard their mooshu is lackluster but I can’t confirm nor deny that claim as I haven’t tried it myself. The price is solid for the portion sizes and quality of food, nothing to sneeze at but totally worth it if for a special occasion. Not to mention I’ve never had poor service there, the staff are always very polite and attentive towards our needs which I greatly appreciate.
Reng Hua
We ordered the appetizer combo... obviously to go, as they don't allow dine in. We have ate there many times in the past and have had good food.. within the last few years after having continuous bad experiences, we keep saying, "we will give them on more chance." Not after tonight! Never again! I found a hair in my crab puff and my bbq pork felt like it just came out of the fridge and was super dried out!
Food was great, fresh, and plentiful. 3 meals and 1 appetizer was more than enough for a family of 5 with leftovers! We would return but it would be better if there was indoor seating.
Golden Palace Restaurant & Lounge
Great food and staff. Reasonable prices too. Their bathroom could use some work and the booths are pretty uncomfortable. I’ll probably order takeout next time
1st time eating here, lunch time. This is an older style Chinese restaurant (old school decor). Very clean, booths or tables were available. We only saw one waitress, she was very polite and professional. There were about 6 other tables that she was waiting on. Our food came out from the kitchen very hot and quickly. I ordered one of the lunch combos, Kung Pao Chicken. My friend ordered the dinner size Mongolian Beef. The flavors were good. The service was good. The portion size was good for the money. Downtown Longview on 14th street, a hidden gem. Thumbs up!!
Taste of Sichuan (Palace Sichuan)
Mostly a good experience. We ordered several things to share family style. The food came quickly and the service was very good. The fried appetizers however tasted a bit burned like the oil was old or too hot. Everything else was very tasty and no issues. The prices are a tad on the higher side but the serving sizes were large. We left with plenty to go and satisfied.
I always forget this place exists. Today was my first time trying it! My fiancé and I were the only ones in there on a Saturday at 2pm. Our server was amazing, filled our water when it was low, gave us an extra spoon to share the wonton soup & extra napkins when needed. The food was delicious & everything is made without GMO’s too. We mentioned it was our first time visiting and we’re giving complimentary egg flour soup. Definitely will be back!!
Kim Bowl Restaurant & Lounge
RECOMMENDED! Lee welcomed us and let us choose our seat. We got the menus then decided on food. First up Honey Walnut Shrimp was crispy while being covered in that delicious sauce. General Tso is a must try. Another amazingly crispy dish with a delectable sauce. Kung Pao was fresh, light and not really hitting it for me. Sadly Mongolian Beef was another favorite of mine that was good just not where the other dishes are at. Trying to remember the noodle dish. The others devoured it, so it was to their liking.
A great affordable option for a quick meal. Everything was fresh and hot. The food came quickly. You can’t beat the price these days. We would go back for a quick lunch.
Yan's Chinese Restaurant & Lounge
Kind service. Quiet restaurant. Okay food. I ordered fried rice and it did not contain one single vegetable, not even the standard green onion. The hot tea was delicious. The rice had some flavor but required soy-sauce to take it to enjoyable. There is something about a sticky table that really bothers me. On a scale of 1-5 stickiness - our table was a definite 3 1/2.
Food was excellent! The batter on the chicken was light and tasty! Egg roll was amazing and crab cakes melted in my mouth. The pork fried rice was made to perfection.
Fei’s Carriage Restaurant & Lounge
Went to Fei’s Carriage Restaurant & Lounge for the first time. I’m from Seattle and I was in town to visit my husband’s family. My sister in law suggested this place! Ordered a cheese burger with garlic fries! Super delicious and very fresh tasting. The atmosphere was very pleasant and cozy! Also, outstanding customer service!!! Highly recommended!!! Love love love it 😍!!!
The drinks are on the stronger side and well priced. We got wings and garlic parm fries for the table, and the servings were large. There is no Chinese food on Monday. They did have a corned beef special for St. Patty's day, so I had to try it. It was very good!
Famous Kitchen
Having recently moved from Bellevue to the peaceful town of Issaquah, I had to say goodbye to the convenience of Bellevue's vibrant Asian restaurant scene. Luckily, I discovered Famous Kitchen, which offers some of the most delicious Cantonese dishes and roasted meats (duck, pork, chicken). My favorite--the roasted duck--did not disappoint. Unlike other places where the duck is mostly bones, the portions here are very meaty, and the flavor is perfectly balanced--just the right amount of seasoning without being too salty. We've explored several other dishes on the menu, many of which we've never seen or heard of anywhere else. It's definitely a hidden gem, offering a unique and flavorful dining experience.
They weigh the takeout box with your bbq pork. Also, the guy chopped my bbq and didn't wash his hands after taking a nap at the table. Pretty gross. Salted fish chicken fried rice was really good; white cut chicken was great, but I was very disappointed with shrimp wonton noodles soup (shrimp in wonton was very dried and no flavor). Best Wonton Noodle Soup is in Seattle, Beacon Dim Sum House in Seattle!
Twin Dragon
I don't usually complain about the cleanliness of places but this place really needs it, the food was not bad and the price of everything is good
First of all, we adore the staff, the waitresses are so friendly and remember us, even though we only go once a month or so. The BBQ pork is outstanding, fresh and hot with great flavor. I like their food, not greasy, just fresh and hot and tasty. I would recommend this place over and over again. It's just good food, and good people.
Macky’s Dim Sum
The best disum restaurant in Issaquah area. I had dim sum here on a day in late September. The food was delicious, with many dishes to choose from. I went with my family, about 8 people, and the restaurant had spacious, comfortable, and clean seating. The staff was very friendly and pleasant.
After giving this place a try, it's well worth the 15-20 min drive to the Bellevue area for much better fare. I'm sure the restaurant had its moment years ago, but I noticed too many red flags for me to consider returning (if you've ever worked in a restaurant, you know what to look out for). Couple these signs with their known food safety violations, its not much of a surprise. For the size of Issaquah—and how fast it is growing—it has a surprisingly good and diverse food scene. It can certainly do much better than this.
