Ichiban Sushi & Hibachi
Stayed at a nearby hotel who recommended this place. Glad they did! I didn’t know it was very close to the airport. Friendly customer service. The food was pretty good. To be fair I did come in the last hour before closing. So the food on the buffet was not the freshest, but from the items I did choose, it was DELICIOUS! I had fried shrimp with the head on, and black pepper chicken. I will come back during business hours to check them out. Lastly, it was $5.99 a pound for no seafood items, and $6.99 a pound if you got seafood. Total was $20 for great portions. Ambiance is family friendly. Restaurant was VERY CLEAN. If in the area, try them and tell me your thoughts.
I actually don't mind this restaurant. Lots of options to choose from with a decent selection of seafood options. Having hibachi/Mongolian grill is very nice and tasted pretty good. The atmosphere is nonchalant, pretty basic. But you get good value for what you pay.
Bamboo Garden Restaurant
Chicken and broccoli was tasty. Came with fried rice. The crab Rangoon was good. The vegetable spring rolls nice and crispy but the filling was flavorless.
This review isn't not about the food simply because I never ordered, the customer service here is so bad it stopped me from ordering. There was no greeting upon entering, but then wants to rush me to order something. I'm very big on customer service and if the customer service isn't right I will eat nor shop at the establishment.
Jin Jin Chinese Restaurant
Not sure what’s going on with this place, but I have to find a new Chinese restaurant that has better quality food. The size of the new born chicken wings they gave me are insane. I’m over this place!
Really good food. Nice portions. Cooked by Chinese. Conveniently located right off the freeway. Nothing special about interior. Seems most people take out. Not the friendliest cashier.
China Express
General tso combo ordered (sub for vegetable fried rice). Food was extremely hot and fresh. However the fried rice had no seasoning just veggetables and fried rice. The general tso chicken was ok Update September 30 @ PM Purchase vegetable fried rice over the phone and was told it would be 10 mins. I arrive at the restaurant 20mins later and the food was not done. They were completely empty inside and the only person inside was another lady doing a pickup. It then took another almost 10mins before it was ready. That was, OK. The bad part is that the vegetables in my fried rice had old and possibly molded pieces (see picture). I do not recommend and will not be returning
An order was placed for rice and wings. I didn't see the wings until I got home. The wings were not trimmed to the proper extent. There are feathers everywhere on the cooked wings. If you don't want to get poisoned, I advise you not to order here.
China Buffet
I was going to give them a little grace with a 3 star review but then I got the bill, to say we were shocked would be an understatement. Some of the food was ok,some was bland, some was sweet when it shouldn’t have been. The servers were quick to cleanup the plates and trash but not bring us any refills (I usually get 2-3 refills and my wife gets one or two).. we have been all over the world and never paid $53 to eat at any buffet… Avoid these crooks.. DO NOT EAT HERE….
The food quality is low, this probably ranks of the lower end of all the Chinese buffet in Charlotte area. The crab legs have no snap to them when cracking which tells me that it’s old. The clarified butter has no taste. The only thing that was decent was the lobster in ginger sauce. They didn’t bring out a lot of lobster what so ever… we were there for about an hour and only say a few pieces of lobster. The sushi looked old to me, the rest of the common food found in Chinese buffets looked old as well. The decor and the floors looked dirty and cheap. The bathroom was filthy. I would not recommend this place at all… they do not know how to properly accommodate for a person in a wheelchair. They tried to give us a table in the back that was tight to get to….we had to tell the host that is not going to work as we had issues even getting to the table… we need a better table preferably something easy accessible. the price was high for a place in this condition $21.99 for the weekend
Panda Express
Ordered to go from the ready made food buffet area and was rushed because it was within 20 min of closing. It was already sitting there made. Food is not that good either!
Ive had sushi that was cooked better than the chicken here. If you like your stomach and chicken that doesnt talk to you while youre eating it, dont go here. Plenty of other options in the airport nearby.
Cottage Restaurant
My first time eating here. And I must say I really really love their food. The chicken and rice were so flavorful. My new Chinese spot when I’m at work. Great job! Five Stars!
Ordered beef and broccoli. Beef had a weird awful sour/bitter taste with a pool of oil at the bottom of container. Gave it a couple of bites to be sure and I was. It didn’t taste like anything I’ve ever had before. Honesty worried about getting sick it was so sour tasting
Fortune Cookie II
We popped in here and grabbed lunch before we went to the movies. I am picky about my Chinese but this was really good. I ordered the general tso plate and my fiance ordered a triple delight which had beef, chicken and shrimp. It was very good portions. They separate the meat from the rice in the to go container an I liked that. Food was very good and hot. You could see the steam coming off of it when you opened the container. Will definitely eat here again when we are in Charlotte and want chinese. This is a take out situation no where to dine in.
This is what Chinese food is supposed to be, humble, affordable and GOOD! It hits in a way that overpriced pretentious Chinese food cannot. The best part, though, is the man that works there. Not sure if he's the manager or owner but he's so delightful that I will volunteer to pick up the food from now on just to say hi. Atmosphere is on 1000...
Dragon Buffet
This sushi is so old the color from the seaweed was seeping into the rice. Couldn’t even but it on my plate. This guy brought out fresh spring and egg rolls. And they were soggy. Right from the back and they were terrible. The gravy looked like it had been sitting around all damn day I stirred it up and it looked worse. Probably one of the worse buffets I’ve ever been to. I ended up eating two plates of crab Rangoon‘s because that was the only good thing they had. I’ll never eat here again. The waitress was nice and kind.
I recently visited this place and was extremely disappointed. The food had a terrible taste, and the machine-made drinks were flat and unappealing. I strongly recommend avoiding this spot if you’re looking for quality food and beverages. It’s just not worth it.
Kung Pao Wok
Prices were good for the portions received. Selection is limited but decent. Tastes like you'd imagine Chinese food from the mall to taste. Overall, it was a decent experience, and we've been back a couple of times for some cheap, local grub.
Very bad food , not fresh at all and the front desk clerks are very cunning. The said they r going make fresh but they took old food and heat it up. It’s really bad taste, the food burns completely
China Tea Room
Pretty mid grade food. It was close to me and I wanted Chinese. The generals chicken was heavier on the breading than most. The fried rice wasn't winning any awards. It was made to order which is a plus. Portion good for the money. Service was ok. My order was taken and I paid. That's about it.
disinterested and inattentive. We waited a long time to have our orders taken, and when our food finally arrived, it was incorrect and cold. It was evident that the staff was not trained properly in customer service, which further added to the negative experience. The most troubling aspect of my visit was the behavior of the cashier, who exhibited outright racism. It was shocking to witness such a blatant disregard for customer respect. This type of behavior is unacceptable in any establishment and only added to my dissatisfaction. Overall, I would not recommend China Tea Room to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience. The poor food quality, terrible service, and unpleasant atmosphere make it a place I will not return to. Save your time and money and seek out a better Chinese restaurant elsewhere.
China Town
Update 11/18 - I ordered Mongolian Beef and what they gave me was a remix. Mongolian beef is typically beef with green onion, sometimes onion and bell pepper. What they gave me was NOT Mongolian beef, it was something they made up. Highly disappointed and prob won’t be going back Food was very fresh and hot. We order Sesame chicken and General Tso chicken. They both were tasty but I’ve never had general tso that taste just like sesame chicken. I’m pretty sure they are using the same sauce for both dishes. The egg rolls were hot but didn’t taste fresh.
I ordered four meals last night and made sure to confirm this multiple times before paying. However, I only received three. Wanting to clarify the situation, I returned today to ask about the missing meal, only to be met with nothing but rudeness and disrespect. On top of that, the food itself was bland and underwhelming. Very disappointing experience overall.
