Momoyaki
Kalbi was pretty darn good. Staff are fast and friendly. Figured I’d post the menu too for those of you who’d like to see. My only gripe with Momo is that sometimes their ice water tastes like butt. Otherwise, great lil place to get some Korean, sushi, and banchan. Go get you some!
I am Korean. While traveling by car from Georgia to Miami, I Googled a Korean restaurant and visited it. 1. To Koreans It's completely Americanized fake Korean food. It's so sweet and laced with sugar that it will spike your blood sugar. No Kimchi, no side dishes. 2. For non-Koreans Korean food is very healthy and is famous for its wide selection of Kimchi and other free side dishes. This restaurant claims to be a Korean restaurant, but they don't serve any side dishes or even kimchi. And too much sugar is harming the reputation of Korean food, which is famous for being healthy. 3. Overall evaluation First, if this is your first Korean food, don't ever think those are Korean food. Korean food is completely different. Go to any Korea town in Duluth GA and try any food there. And then you understand why I am so upset. Second, the price is very expensive. The grilled ribs are $24. This is a really expensive and too little food for the price. Third, the quality of food also has an issue. My ribs weren't even grilled properly. Look at the picture. Fourth, Momoyaki is a Japanese restaurant name. They say it's a Korean restaurant, but even the name isn't Korean. 4. To the owner I believe you are Korean, so I would like to ask that you serve authentic Korean food with pride. I give this place 2 stars because of the friendliness of the staff. Without them, definitely 1 start.
Yamato Japanese Restaurant
Our party of 5 which included a child under 5 had a great experience. We were greeted and sat immediately. The chef was very interactive and the food was perfect.
Birthday Dinner & A Show We had a large party to celebrate a birthday. Dinner was excellent. Chef Tommy delivered not only a delicious meal but a wonderful show! Our party varied in ages and everyone enjoyed the show. We had some of everything and plenty of it filet mignon, chicken, shrimp, scallops, salmon, veggies, noodles and rice. This was my first time and I very much enjoyed it and will be back. For large parties some advice Yamato will not seat you until every guest has arrived. Thank You for a wonderful dinner for our family and friends.
Paris Banh Mi Gainesville
If you love Korean corn dogs you have to stop here! I come by here to study sometimes because the atmosphere is quiet and it’s a cute shop. The workers here are extremely friendly and welcoming and I’ve never had a bad experience coming here. If you’re a fan of taro milk tea I would definitely recommend coming here. Their tapioca is perfectly soft and not overly chewy.
Wednesday evening was our first time visiting this local sandwich shop since a co-worker recommended it. We ordered our food using 1 of the 2 quick order kiosks. We ordered 2 shredded chicken croissants without the sauce, 1 Thai tea 25% sweetness, 1 Taro tea 25% sweetness, and egg rolls. It was really busy (about 20 people already in the restaurant waiting for their food when we walked in), and more people were coming in, so service was expectedly slow. It took about 20 minutes for the egg rolls to be ready, and that was provided first (my husband was confused since he thought the rest of the order was forgotten, but unlike other restaurants' take out, Paris Banh Mi will sporadically give you what's ready from the order and not the whole order all at once). The teas and croissant sandwiches were ready after another 15 or so minutes. The order was correct, and the egg rolls were excellent. The sandwiches were a bit on the oily side for us (maybe it's the butter?), so it wasn't as enjoyable as it could've been. I liked my taro tea, but my husband said that his Thai tea tasted watered down compared to my tea. Not sure we'll have the sandwiches again. Might be back for more of the delicious egg rolls 👏 Hope they can figure out a more efficient way to handle takeout orders since giving people parts of their orders can be confusing and while we were there, others were also mystified at first when only their drinks or appetizers were given to them without the cashier saying it was only part of an order. Side note: parking here is very limited during dinnertime and I suggest walking here vs. driving. Also, during our visit, there was only 1 cashier taking / handing out orders so it wasn't enough staff to handle that amount of people. We felt bad for the person since they also seemed frazzled. Thankfully, there were 2 other employees that walked in just as we were getting the last parts of our order so maybe the short staff issue was just our luck that visit.
Samurai Japanese Steak House & Sushi Bar
This was one of the best hibachi places i have ever been. The amount of food and quality, the service especially for NY eve was all impeccable. Nice size glass of plum wine. The salad dressing was so good I bought some to go. You cannot go wrong here. The picture is only half of the food as me and my his got the dinner for 2 and he had a huge plate of noodles and steak and veggies and shrimp and lobster. This is easily 3 meals.
We had a wonderful time here. They accommodated our party of 11 even though they were closing soon. The food was excellent and the portions were huge! The hibachi chef was great, and our server was excellent. The whole staff was very helpful and friendly. Thank you.
Oriental Garden 2
Don't know how they do it , but the portions are HUGE. The szechuwan chicken Is like 1 pound of white meat.tenders in delicious sauce. Drove from Roswell just to get them. Great value Great food
I ate here with a friend, server was very nice and helpful when we ordered. However, the soup was cold for the place just being open for the day, I would’ve thought otherwise. The sesame chicken itself wasn’t like any sesame chicken i’ve had before and not in a good way. There was a very weird syrup over the chicken and while the chicken was hot it seemed old. The rice almost seemed leftover as did the chicken. Not even 10 minutes after eating I felt so sick and needed to get fresh air and threw up everywhere outside. I feel absolutely awful. I’m not sure if it from the poor preparation or MSG.. I will not be back.
Tikka Express Gainesville
I'd give it five stars on everything but it really is an express, so it doesn't have a fancy setting. I think they probably get a lot more to goes than they get people that eat there, but I don't know that for sure. When I was there, everybody was getting their food to go. Not sure where they parked. I know it was quite a chore for me. I think that would be the only thing that I'm not crazy about. That being it's so hard to find a parking space just to go in for 10 minutes to get something to take away. It's the busy part of town and they're doing work on the roads which doesn't help, in the end it was worth it. I got curry chicken and I believe they were called samosas. It was really good. Just because it's a takeout place that doesn't mean it's not well prepared and delicious. It is. Apparently they have a buffet during the week and I went there on a Saturday so I had to just order one thing. I would love to come back and try some of their other options. If I can get to Gainesville again I will definitely hit this place again. I definitely recommend this place. Even though it looks like a little hole in the wall, it's really good food. And the guy that worked there was very nice. He didn't rush anybody when they were trying to make a decision and he was very helpful explaining what each of the dishes were. He was also good about making sure that he followed what you wanted. Specifically I did not want my curry chicken too hot. He did it perfectly. I think there's just a couple of people working there. I saw someone else that was bringing food out and probably cooking behind the scenes. Give it a try if you like Indian food. I think this Indian food is very good. Everyone else seemed to like theirs too. The portions are quite large also. You'll probably have enough for two meals. Very nice!
ALLERGY FRIENDLY! The proprietor is so friendly, had no problem answering my food allergy questions. And making recommendations. It is virtually nut free (only cashew milk in a few dishes.) Halal, so no alcohol/vinegar. She makes everything in house. Several vegetarian options. The food itself was delicious! And huge portions. Our bill was $30 and we both ate our fill, and still brought home more than we ate there!. I highly recommend!
Wahoo Seafood Grill
We went here after a day exploring Payne's Prairie. The food was excellent. Everyone enjoyed what they had. The service was excellent, our waitress Nicole was excellent and very tentative. We loved the cozy atmosphere. There is a bar here as well with a happy hour menu all day. Definitely recommend giving this restaurant a try.
Just ate there with my wife and son. From one restaurant owner to another, this is how it's done. From hostess to Bartender was a great experience, the food was amazing as well. Shout out for the huge lemon, hilarious and awesome.
Seoul Pocha Korean Pub/Grill
Amazing dinner tonight! There were four of us this evening. We ordered several things off the menu and split the bill. That way we were able to try a variety of items. The fried chicken was amazing! There was also a pork dish that came out sizzling in a cast iron that was soooo good! I sadly forget the name of it. It was in a mildly spicy sauce. The popcorn chicken, and sweet and sour pork were also a couple favorites. So many good things. We were in Gainesville visiting my daughter at UF. Will make this a regular stop when we come up. They also have a couple of Karaoke rooms available for rent as well. I think it was a private room for 35 a room.
I’ve come here twice now and it was amazing both times! The staff is extremely friendly and soooo nice. The first time I went here, they recommended the rose tteokbokki and it was so tasty. If you come here I 100% recommend getting the beef bulgogi because this is the most flavorful bulgogi I’ve had at a restaurant to date. Their japchae is also extremely good and I recommend getting it. If you like spicy food, definitely get the Korean Fried Chicken, but be warned, the portion size could literally feed a family of 8.
Mildred's Big City Food
I personally was not impressed with the food the service was so so. We got the three course mean the flounder was good the salad was dry and the boxed cake was the best part of the meal the drinks were good. The atmosphere was a very mature crowd so don't over dress lol
Wow. What a fantastic place to enjoy a meal with friends. The food is amazing. The chef really knows what he’s doing. The menu is very well planned. The starter was a wonderful butter nut squash bisque. The entrees were NY Strip with a delicious flavor. And a fried potato perfection. Also a flounder filet with carrots and savory sauce with greens. The scallops are super. Nice size and tender. The Pinot Noir is smooth and delicious with a choice of deserts. Cheesecake and fresh berries to finish. The server was sweet and very attentive. She filled our water glasses often. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with a really nice bar. I’m looking forward to enjoying this place again soon.
Tup Tim Thai Restaurant and Sushi Bar
I ordered from this restaurant on Uber eats while they were having a bogo deal on their pad Thai. I thought it was a joke when I got my food and saw the portion size. I have never eaten at this restaurant so I’m not sure if this is a normal portion size or if they split a regular size portion into two and called it a BOGO deal. I will never order from here again with how expensive the pad Thai was. I’m giving two stars because the pad Thai tasted good but not worth it for the price.
soooo i really wanted pho so i walked to bagels and noodles but they were closed so i came here instead and they did have pho on the menu :) the pho itself was good, definitely hit the spot and it was presented beautifully (i asked for everything on the side, they were out of beansprouts so gave me green beans instead which was weird but i ate and enjoyed it anyway lol) my server was very kind and the inside was beautiful, i will surely come back and try the rest of the menu
Nine Spices Hotpot & BBQ
Decided to try this place out with my daughter. We never been here before and our server was so informative and helpful. We never felt like we were being judged for our food choices or our cooking times. The sauce bar was a big bonus and the portions you get are very generous. We got the all you can eat and I must say I will go back to this place often. Very delicious food! Awesome atmosphere and experience. Very highly recommend! Will be going back again!
This is a really nice place to hang out with friends and family. My friend took me out to celebrate my birthday and it was such a wonderful feeling! The service was amazing! I even got a cheesecake and a happy birthday song! It was initially difficult to get a hang of things like how the hotpot works, but once the servers came to help us with the stove and all, we started cooking. Because I love hot food, I would have gone with powdered pepper and some extra spices. Outside of that, they have lots of options to choose from. The BBQ is limited to beef, pork, and I think squid and octopus but you can grill whatever meat serving you get for your hot pot. Great place for hang outs. Good comfort food It was a bit loud though. And we added to the noise lmaooo
Pirates' Grill
I was passing through and thought to give this place a try. I ordered borscht soup and dessert. The lady owner and cook was very friendly and kind and explained the soup was authentic from her country of Georgia. One taste of the soup and I could tell this was the real deal. The taste was amazing and filling. The cake was also another great hit and it ended the meal nicely. The waitress was also wonderful and kind. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would have. Everything experienced here food, service, and atmosphere was exceptional.
Every single item we got was absolutely delicious! I can’t even describe how yummy the food is! It’s fresh and tastes like a home cooked meal. I absolutely recommend this place! We got the Kafta Kebabs (beef and lamb), Kazakh ragu, Kazakh borscht, Kavkaz salad, and finished with honey cake. All homemade!
