New Asia
Ordered food from here and was very dissatisfied the chow mien beef was so salty it tasted like the Gulf of Mexico. They packaged my red flash drink sideways over my 2 entrees and the soda spilled inside of my food. Ruining my egg roll and rice. We also ordered Mongolian chicken with steamed rice and we never received the rice. The food is terrible and overpriced. Spare your wallet and appetite. DO NOT COME HERE.
Based on a review I saw over the weekend a friend and I decided to try New Asia Chinese Restaurant on Bandera Rd and Eckert for lunch. I'm happy to say it did not disappoint!! I got the Mongolian beef lunch special which was awesome, some of the best I've had in a while. My friend got the General Tso chicken and said it was Great as well. The lunch specials come with your choice of soup w fried noodles, choice of egg roll, and fried rice, all for $10.25!!!š¤š The lunch menu is extensive so we will definitely be going back to try some of the other dishes. Who knows we may even take our wives next time!šš¤£
China Bistro
Stopped in today for take out. Walked in did not smell of food being cooked and the restaurant was completely empty. That should have been a sign. I orded orange chicken, sesame chicken and combination lo mein. The chicken is old and reheated more than we once. The fried rice is mushy and tasteless. Usually Chinese food have an amazing aroma, this food does not!!! I tried calling the restaurant to ask if I can bring this back. The owner said he responded he did speak English and bye bye...
The food is fresh and flavorful. Vegetables are purchased the same day they are cooked. The dishes have good prep and spices so that they have a unique and fresh flavor, not just warmed over like some restaurants.
Asian Star Super Buffet
Our family usually go here for weekend dinners! We love Asian Star Super Buffet because itās affordable, casual, and the food selection is pretty good. For three adults and two kids, our bill was $80.04 including one drink, which is pretty reasonable for the amount of food. We always tip in cash to show our appreciation for the staff! Some of my favorite dishes are the fried pork, Singapore noodles, salmon sushi, avocado rolls, honey shrimp, mushrooms, and seaweed salad. Even though itās usually busy with big groups and parties, the wait is never too long. The only things Iād say need improvement are the seasoning on the Mongolian beef. It can be a bit bland. Sometimes thereās a bit of sand in the clams. But overall, we are usually satisfied with their dinner and price.
It's got a Create Your Own Mongolian Bowl Bar at no extra charge. Instant 5 stars. But the wide selection of food is stunningly impressive, yummy and well-presented. There's definitely something everyone will enjoy. Our hostess was attentive throughout our stay too. For $13 a person (even less for kids) it's well worth it. Will definitely go back.
A Dong Vietnamese & Chinese Restaurant @DeZavala
A Dong is one of the very few restaurants in San Antonio that offer a menu closer to authentic Vietnamese food. Their ācanh chuaā (Vietnamese sour soup) is pretty great, might be on the sweeter note, but if youāre from South Vietnam itās perfect. We also love their fish sauce chicken wings - so crispy and flavorful. Their lotus roots salad or beef salad is refreshing. Lastly if you enjoy savory and crispy, try the sautĆ©ed pork ribs!
This past Wednesday, we visited a restaurant we havenāt been to in years. A Dong Restaurant serves both Vietnamese and Chinese dishes. Hubby and I both had the Coconut Drink that was very refreshing. Love the fresh coconut meat! Dad had Soy Bean Milk. We started off with the Vietnamese Egg Rolls and Crab and Corn Soup. The soup tasted good but the crabmeat was not the star of the dish. Hubby had the Beef Rice Noodle, which is one of his favorite dishes. I tried some and it was tasty. Dad and I shared the Stir Fry Vermicelli Combo without the curry since we didnāt like spicy. There was some flavor but couldāve use some more. There are 2 locations. We visited the 5222 DeZavala Rd., Suite 318 location. The other location is on Agora Parkway in Selma.
Singapore II UTSA
Alicia was an absolute treat as a server. Customer service doesnāt get much better than this, and the food is amazing. I had the Mongolian beef and enjoyed every bit of it, if you come during lunch the special comes with a crab Rangoon and an eggroll. Good atmosphere, good people, good food.
There should be a 6 Stare for Singapore, here is why. Kitchen is spotless, they all wear gloves when prepping food. Everyone is friendly. Service is fast Food was awesome, very large portions. All my family loved the food. They are great for lunch, dinner, and takeout. This is now my regular for great food. Strong Recommend!
China Star Chinese Restaurant
I finally had a chance to try the China Star at 1647 Babcock Rd, San Antonio, TX 78229. I had the lunch combo plate and it was huge. The Mongolian beef and General Tao chicken were both very tasty as well as the fried rice, eggroll and soup. All this was $11.25. The staff were all extremely nice as well. This is a no frills - hole in the wall place but its clean and definitely worth a visit!š
Bueno bonito barrato, plenty of food for the price. Place is dark and dingy but the food is good wish they had better lighting in the place. Ordered combination low lemein and never could go wrong with that also the beef and broccoli is amazing. The plate comes with cheese Rangoon or wing or egg roll and a soup. Egg drop is always good. I also order the sesame chicken itās crispy and amazing. You will leave full and with enough for the next day so ask for a to go box.
sichuan garden
All the dishes here are sooo good. Crispy chicken is my favorite! With sliced red chili giving the dish a certain level of depth that keeps you on your toes while constantly digging in. The Eggplant though doused in a sauce on the sweeter side compliments the vegetable perfectly.
best food taste and service, we ordered spicy crispy and twice pork belly. the waiter name is KiKy ,she took care of our drinks and satisfied with our food. will always come back to this restaurant. and you know they also provide a big room for big events, all kinds of wine and beer . The best restaurant in texas
Golden Dragon Express
The prices are competitive but their recipes are a little off. The fried rice, egg rolls, and beef and broccoli have a strong five spice flavor. Maybe the day I ordered, they went a little heavy on the seasoning? Not sure, but it could be toned down a little. Also, I got an empty cheese rangoon! I went from āI know what not to order next timeā to there not being a next time at all. Yikes.
Singapore noodle dish was delicious, I got take out, definitely a take out location. Egg drop really good and Rangoon good just the way they are. Priced perfect and well worth it. I'm so happy to find a simple fast location to grab some take out. The girl on phone was lovely and man was kind. Thank you. If you can't take heat just let them know mild. For me it was perfect.
China Inn
I have been coming here for a couple of years now. I cannot believe I had not left a review! This establishment dishes out delicious food every time. I had the Mongolian beef tonight pictured below with hot & sour soup/egg roll. Give it a try you will not regret it! I also enjoy the pepper steak from here.
The best Chinese food in San Antonio! My family comes here every Sunday. Nice restaurant, great service, even better food!
Ding How Chinese Restaurant
Food just not good... so unimpressed... I'm not sure what kind of sweet and sour chicken this is? 20 years of ordering Chinese and never this kind of sweet and sour and what kind of fried rice is this?. No thanks! Egg foo young-- long wait for mushy patties that fell apart, bland sauce, could only taste the grease. It's just an all around no for me. I don't understand how this place was so packed but then again locals prob don't know any better. Ppl from out town that's use to higher quality food... don't waste your time.
The best experience eating the best food! First of all the atmosphere and decor was just gorgeous. Our server gave recommendations which we tried - Pineapple Chicken and an off menu item Sesame Beef. Both were absolutely savory and rich. We also ordered Pork Lo Mein, the most delectable, scrumptious noodles with grilled smokiness from the pork. Portions were ginormous! To say we stuffed ourselves is an understatement. Definitely coming back.
Chin's Chinese Kitchen
I got take out orange chicken, with a side of two egg rolls. Came out to around 17 and some change. It seemed like a lot to pay for Chinese. It was well worth it. The portions were huge. They even used real orange peels. Only thing I didnāt like was the dudes attitude. Other than that I think this is very well worth the purchase. (Sorry about the picture, I forgot to get it before tearing in)
Great food. Good deals via DoorDash also. Order was accurate, hot and delicious. We would happily order again.
House of Joy Chinese Restaurant
House of Joy has some of the best Chinese in the city. The wonton soup was full of flavor. I ordered the General Tso's Orange Chicken and it was perfectly spicy and sweet. Don't forget to ask for their Jasmine sweet tea it's served on ice and keeps me coming back for more!
Great customer service from the moment you are greeted until you cash out. The food is delicious and filling. Every entree comes with a choice of steamed or fried rice, spring rolls, egg roll or crab Rangoon. The ambiance is relaxing and quiet enough to carry a conversation. Great people work here!
