Taste of Mulan
It was fairly busy for a Saturday afternoon, but the staff were attentive and efficient. The restaurant offered ample space for a stroller and had adjustable seating options, making it easy to accommodate a car seat. I ordered the whole Peking duck, which was served with a side of duck soup. The crispy skin was absolutely perfect, and there was no gamey flavor whatsoever. While both the pancakes and fluffy buns were available for the duck, I personally preferred the pancakes. The soup, made with the duck bones, was rich, flavorful, and a perfect complement to the meal.
Overall great experience with a lot of choices. The food was very good and consistent across all of the dishes. There was nothing that went uneaten. We mainly had dim sum and it was all tasty. All of the soup dumplings were great, but not that flavor bomb I have received elsewhere. I would be happy to come back any time to try some other dishes that are not dim sum.
Clear Lake Hunan Restaurant
We are purchasing a house in the neighborhood and wanted a place to relax and feed the baby before heading home. We were really glad we chose this restaurant. The staff were very helpful and the food was delicious. We had dim sum for appetizers and each tried a meal. My wife had Sesame Chicken and I created my own chicken meal with my choice of vegetables and sauce. Everything was amazing!
Recently moved to the Clear Lake area. Wish I had read some reviews ahead of time. Family of 4 went looking for a nice casual sit down Dinner, unfortunately that's is not what we got! We should have trusted the look of the restaurant once we finally got seated. The place was empty at 7 on a weekend night. The booths are cracking and falling apart, restroom was foul smelling and carried into restaurant. The tables were cover in a weird industrial plastic, I would imagine covering up tables that aren't visually appealing. The place was a creepy kind of quiet. It took a bit to get service, and the older gentleman that waited on us didn't seem to interested in answering our question, seemed preoccupied. Food arrived and really the only thing that was pretty good was the fried rice. We continually were waiting for items that were not brought, sides of white rice, drink refill, soy sauce etc. The older gentleman was wearing a sweat shirt type top not sure if he was cook and waiter, but wasn't very good at either. They did seem to have an active group of teens folding menus near the front. Oh and if you're looking for a beer or glass of wine, look elsewhere as they don't offer either, yet they had wine bottle racks!. overall just a VERY disappointing dinner out with the family. Would NOT recommend.
Hunan Star
Thus is one of the worst Chinese i have ever had. The meat is dry and over cooked. The rice is old and musy just a blab. The egg rolls was honestly the best thing. The quality here is really low, for the price for a meal it is not worth it. I highly do not recommend them
This is one of the best places in the area. Their food is solid. Their people are amazing. 10 stars!!! Their shrimp toast is calorie free 😉
JB's Chinese Cafe
First off, I just want to say that they're quality and food is great. The only problem was I ordered pad Thai with rice noodles, which was described on the menu, but they definitely served them with egg noodles. And it made it not really pad Thai, however like I said it was delicious. Won ton soup was okay
Delicious Chinese food. Sweet n sour chicken was perfectly cooked and not dried out or hard. Vegetable lo mein is amazing and their egg rolls are simply perfect. Cash delivery available (rare these days) the delivery was fast and friendly. FIVE STARS !!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU TRYING THEM IF IN WEBSTER AREA!!
Ginger Wok
This is a nice, clean neighborhood spot for traditional Chinese. I had the shrimp in garlic sauce with hot and sour soup, egg roll and fried rice. Soup was not very good, garlic sauce unremarkable, shrimp very tasty,, and egg roll was excellent. Owner/waiter was very accommodating.
We came in today to give place a try, girl in the front seem to not want to even be there. Didn’t feel welcoming at all. I ordered kung pao chicken cause it’s usually my go to dish. On the menu it says that this dish is spicy but it wasn’t even slightly spicy. They did overkill with the carrots and celery, I separated the chicken from all the veggies just to get the visual of how ridiculous it was and took a picture..and it had no water chest nuts at all which was very disappointing . Not to mention they topped the dish with raw peanuts. Worst kung pao I’ve ever had, I would’ve been much happier going to Panda Express for the price of this place. Won’t bother coming back to this restaurant.
Dumpling World - Clear Lake
We walked into a clean and inviting space. The waiter / host immediately greeted us and sat us down. We were allowed plenty of time to review the menu and decided on 3 items to share. We had the Pan Fried Mini Buns - pork and scallion, braised Pork Stem Buns, and the spicy soup pork and shrimp buns. The food was extremely fresh and amazing! The flavors were melded and so delicious! I highly recommend Dumpling World as a unique experience in the Clear Lake area.
We have a new favorite place! Celia was an excellent hostess. Very knowledgeable about each dish. Everything we ordered, including the drinks, was superb. The prices were great too!
Wongs Chef
My brother just moved into town, and we were looking for a quick meal that wouldn't kill the budget. Check out the serving sizes of the fried chicken and pork lo mein! It's definitely family style here! The flavors are also on point, which makes this quick visit a great one! Now that he's in the area, we have a great spot to check out for good food!
Decent food. Not the best, but I appreciate the vegetarian options in town with limited options. The flavor was definitely mild. General Tso’s tofu wasn’t spicy as advertised but it tasted pretty good. The fries and egg rolls weren’t anything special.
888 Bistro
Loved this place for years. We miss eating at the bar with Jason as a server. The fried shrimp rice is delicious. Jason introduced us to egg foo young, and it's a favorite. It's not on menu but they will make it.
Wonderful Chinese food with friendly and fast service. Decided to try this place out and I was very impressed. Great flavor, not too many spices and perfect portion size. Ambiance was relaxing and peaceful. "I'll be back."
Lucky Wok
I did NOT like my meal. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken. As you can see from the picture, the portions are very generous but it’s mostly rice and carrots. The chicken does not taste good and has a bad smell. I was so hungry, I ate the rice but it’s dry and bland. How did this place get a review score of 4? I wish I had read the reviews before coming here.
Decided to try this place after the good reviews but sadly I did not get very good food, I order the hunan beef and all I got was cabbage in sauce with a couple of pieces of beef and broccoli. The flavour was barely there and both the beef and broccoli that I did get were super soggy and overcooked.
Silk Road
I was skeptical... I really was. Dim sum restaurant in a hotel? It was only because it was so close to West U that I gave it a try but I am so happy I did! Everything I tried was delicious including some classic renditions of old favorites that I have always loved. They hit it out of the park. I particularly liked the stir fried noodles (beef). The noodles are made fresh in house and it was awesome! I also particularly liked the turnip cake which is something I merely tolerated when getting dim sum at other sites. If you like turnip cake, this might be the best I've ever had. It's a different experience than I was expecting since most places I have been at have slow or cart service with food that has been under warmers. Everything we ordered was made fresh for us and arrived hot. Very traditional and very tasty. Highly recommend if you live in the West U or surrounding region! It's nice to know we don't have to continue to drive to Chinatown for our ~monthly dim sum outing.
It is a hotel, so prices are a bit higher than your average dim sum place. Regardless, the place is delicious and very cute. The food has excellent quality. The day we went, they were down a couple of employees so service was a bit slower, but they were all so gracious and trying their best. Devin was extremely hospitable and gave us some bites to taste free of charge to make up for the hiccups. Overall, I would go back again because I loved it.
Happy China Cafe
My food was served quickly and was pretty good, but I thought the meat was a little over cooked. That's usually not the case here. I'm rarely disappointed with the mostly excellent food. The Win Ton Soup was hot and very good! My friend had their ample egg foo young, half of which she took home with her. She seemed to enjoy it very much. The service was good, but we usually needed to call the waitress when we needed something. However, when we did, she took care of us immediately and is always friendly and polite. The place transitioned during Covid to mostly take out from previously focusing more on in house diners. So they serve everything in disposable dishes, with plastic silverware. However they have always been willing, since opening for indoor seating after Covid, to serve fine in customers. Their lunch specials are a real bargain, and the food is generally quite good. I'm sure I'll be back when I'm next in Pearland.
I’ve been coming here since a friend and I decided to check it out, and the food is consistently good. They offer a lunch deal with the main dish, soup, and an egg roll. While the soup options could be better, I personally enjoy the Wonton soup with a little chili oil added. The lunch options are made to order, so they’re always hot and fresh. A couple of things to note: 1.The bottom five dishes on the lunch menu have a similar taste, but they’re still tasty. 2.They use disposable utensils, which can be a bit annoying, especially when your fork bends trying to eat crispy food. It also leads to quite a bit of waste, which isn’t great for the environment. 3.The service from Lin/Ling is excellent—they’re always checking in to make sure everything is good. Overall, it’s a solid spot, and I’ll continue coming back. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Overall, I will continue to visit this place and suggest you so too if you're close.
Cafe 11
Great place to get Chinese food in the Katy area. I got the appetizer Ferris wheel, which came with basil chicken, salt and pepper squid, shrimp toast, fries, and curry fish balls. I also got their teddy bear milk tea. I was very pleased that I came during their happy hour from 4 to 6 PM as you get 20% off. This place is not crowded when I went on a Wednesday evening. The service was great. The food was a little too salty. The milk tea was good in terms of sweetness and flavor. Good portion sizes and I would come back.
The ambience was breathtaking, the service was incredible and the FOOD WAS DELICIOUS! A delightful experience and our server was so great.. recommending dishes and making sure our table stayed clean and clear ready for the next meal. Very authentic food and even better unique drink & dessert options.
