Hoka Hoka Fuku
As a Google reviewer who enjoys tasting different cuisines, I recently dined at a Japanese restaurant, and it was an exceptional experience! The food showcased a delightful blend of flavors, was well-prepared, and beautifully presented. I felt at home when I visited. The variety and quality of the dishes were outstanding. The service was impeccable; the staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring all our needs were met. The ambiance was warm and inviting. With fantastic food and excellent service, this restaurant is truly a gem. I highly recommend it and plan to return.
This place was so cute, really great decor and a lot of seating available. Host was great and offered some good suggestions. Food was absolutely awesome, hands down the best Japanese I’ve had in SA. It was so good and cooked perfectly, and food was brought to us quickly. Drink options were pretty good too, with a lot of sake options. We ordered desserts to go because we didn’t want to miss out as the milk tarts looked delicious. Will definitely be visiting again!
Ginza Ramen and Poke
Our visit was a bit of a mixed bag. Service wasn't particularly friendly, and there seemed to be a bit of a language barrier, which can be frustrating for all parties involved. My husband ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl, and didn't eat most of it. The chicken was thigh meat that wasn't trimmed or cut well at all. There were large pieces with fat and connective tissue still attached, which is unappetizing and was unexpected. Chicken teriyaki is usually grilled breast meat in our experience, so this was a definite let down. The actual sauce on it was ok, but nothing to write home about. I got the sushi burrito with salmon and tuna. It was HUGE, which was awesome, but I was only able to eat half, and sushi doesn't keep well, so half went into the trash, which made me sad. The fish was well cut and portioned well and there was a good balance of veggies, rice, and meat. It did need more sauce, and there were very, very large pieces of cilantro stem in it that I had to keep picking out, which wasn't pleasant and was a little annoying. I would get it again, but I might have to ask for no cilantro, which would be a shame because I love it. Overall, I would only come back if it was just me so I could get a sushirito.
Absolutely delicious! Pork belly was crazy good! My 4 year old loved the Ramen as well. You have to try this place.
Biff Buzby's Burgers
Food is always good here! I got brisket egrolls and The Melt and tots and sweet potato fries. Service is fast and today not so friendly 😕, not rude but no smile.
My first time here and what an AWESOME PLACE!!! I was looking online for a car show/club in San Antonio and saw this Friday Night Car Club so I came over here and I am really glad I am.here! The burger is really good and a good size. Ice cold beer at a very good price and they have Yuengling. The staff is super friendly and super helpful. Shakia helped me, I told her it was my first time here and she explained everything to me, answered my questions, was patient and on top of all that great help she has a beautiful smile, personality that made me feel appreciated. Shakia is the best gem in this super fun experience here! Also, the restaurant is clean. The car show is a lot of fun, lots of good people, nice cars and bikes.
Kobe Teppan & Sushi
Came during Valentine’s Day and the wait was 40 minutes, which I did not mind and I had expected that without reservation. A buzzer was given and we were able to wait in the car until a table was ready for us. The server was nice, but we were not provided sauces until a few minutes after receiving our sushi rolls. I also ordered a drink that I never received, but I get it, Valentine’s Day is busy so I won’t be critical about that. The food was okay, but I’ve had better tasting ones at Kumori and Kin Thai Sushi. I’m assuming because this was the $20.99 all you can eat dinner option that I had selected. Overall, it was an okay experience for my first time.
I had a great experience, but I've noticed that the hibachi chefs don't seem to have as much enthusiasm lately. My husband ordered the New York strip with fried rice and vegetables, and I had the chicken and shrimp with vegetables my husband ordered some sake as well. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. Our total came to about $92, but we appreciated the military discount they offer, which was a nice touch.
Chef Joe Asian Cuisine
My friends and I decided to try Chef Joe's Asian Cuisine for an early Sunday afternoon meal, and we were pleasantly surprised by the experience. When we arrived, the restaurant wasn’t very busy, which allowed us to be seated immediately at a spotlessly clean table. The staff greeted us warmly, handed us menus, and promptly took our drink and food orders. The service was impressively quick—our dishes arrived hot, fresh, and beautifully prepared in no time. We started with the soup, which was a standout and set the tone for the rest of the meal. I ordered General Tso's chicken, while my friends went with the sesame chicken and the chicken with broccoli. Every dish was delicious—perfectly cooked, flavorful, and satisfying. We all agreed it was some of the best Asian cuisine we’ve had in a while. Though the restaurant wasn’t crowded when we arrived, a few more customers trickled in during our visit, and we noticed several takeout orders being picked up. It’s surprising this place isn’t busier given the quality of the food and service. Overall, Chef Joe’s Asian Cuisine exceeded our expectations, and we’ll definitely be returning. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal!
First time here and will definitely be coming more often. Waitress was super attentive and helpful with our questions. Soups, appetizer, and dishes were brought out piping hot and promptly. Main dishes were also well served. 3 orders and we paid less than 50 bucks!
375 Social Kitchen
One of our favorite spots on the NE side of San Antonio. The food is absolutely great with a delightful fusion of flavors and ingredients. Everything on the menu is incredible, and the staff is top notch. All our guests that come into town get treated to a dinner here, and the breakfast items are fantastic as well. Located in The Forum, this is a fantastic gem!!
A nice restaurant with beautiful interiors and friendly environment. We were 7 people who walked in around 1 pm on a Sunday and they were able to seat us without prior reservations. The drinks were good. Food was yumm and delicious. The best was the Korean cucumber, the wonton nachos giant ship, fried rice was good, portion sizes are super huge. Fries were good. Edamame were not as expected and they really need to work on their avocado toast. Overall it is a beautiful place serving good food providing a good number of options to select from. Overall we had a great time.
Thai Casa on broadway
We came for lunch, and had a blast! The garlic stir fry was surprisingly good. Egg drop soup was cold; you should ask the waiter to bring a hot portion if served. But I came for the entrees, and was pleased, and full. 😋😋😋
Food is always so delicious and fresh! Love the atmosphere and attentive staff! Cheese rolls are my personal fav and the sushi is perfection!
Phở Hải An
For me when I eat at a restaurant the service and the people who run it is key for me. If the food is really good but the service sucks, the staff is rude, then food seems to taste not as good. But if the people are kind and friendly, the staff is accommodating, the owner are caring, it can make the food taste extraordinary. The owners of this restaurant is a very kind couple. Honest folks who want to share good Vietnamese tastes with the community. They take pride in their cooking and treat their restaurant like their second home. Five Stars all around. Thank you!✨️✨️✨️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Leaving the supermarket across the street we were hungry and have always wanted to try this place out. Walking up the parking lot was empty, when we walked in we were the only patrons inside! We were greeted right away and sat right away. Few moments later our drink and food orders were taken. Drinks were brought out right away Ice tea and a lemonade which were both good. We received our food shortly after the pho looked great, the fixings were looking a little old and wilted but we kept them. After my wife fixed up her bowl she said it was still just missing something. I ordered the sauteed chicken and vegetables with Pan fried noodles! With a little soy and siracha they were great! Noodles perfectly cooked, tender chicken and al dente veggies! The place is huge, and like I said we were the only patrons... It was clean and quiet and showing signs of age but a nice place to eat. We visit the supermarket monthly so we'll definitely be back.
Thai walzem Cuisine
Been meaning to come here, had some time and since I tried Pho9 across the street I decided to make one more trip out here from Medical Center. Waited for them to open at 11 on a Monday. Really nice people here, said they've been here about 5years. On their recommendations I ordered the Yellow Curry w/Chicken- medium spiciness. Was really pretty tasty. Appetizer of Shrimp Blanket-6, Fresh (Veggies) Rolls-2. Both were excellent and filling. Complimentary soup of the day was Egg Drop. I'll be back to try their other cuisines of sushi rolls, Chinese,, Vietnamese. Give them a try 😉
I was really looking forward to a good meal and a 5 star review, but was sadly I was very disappointed. My friend and I decided to try them on a Tuesday afternoon about 4:30 pm. The restaurant was dead, we were the only guests there. We ordered Thai Tea to drink and were served regular ice tea. For food we ordered dumplings and Chicken Satay to start. The dumplings were over-fried and hard to eat. The Chicken Satay (chicken on a stick) was fried to a crisp, dried out and hurt my teeth to eat. The Peanut sauce wasn’t served warm. My friend ordered Chicken Larb (Chicken salad according to the staff) which had beautiful presentation but was weird in that it had peppers in it. This made it sweet not savory and that is not how traditional Chicken Larb is prepared. I was craving Pad Thai and was sorely disappointed when it came out with crusty, dried out and off tasting tofu. The whole dish just tasted old. When I decided to go to wash my hands the temperature in the bathrooms was 92°. Wow! So, Instead of leaving satisfied I left not eating even half our food, bloated and nauseous. Sad to say I will never return.
Tokyo Express
We were in the area shopping and decided to come check this place out. There was no wait at the time we came in. Food didn’t take long and it was all good. Tried the hibachi, fried squid, and crab Rangoon. It is a small type restaurant. It was also very convenient that their serving plates are to go and they have matching lids at the front.
Door dashed some squid because it used to be good but seems like you all have bad product. Was super greasy and portions were small and disgusting. They used to be almost nugget sized rings with good breading now its just greasy crumbs. Sorry gonna be the last time I order
Wu’s Kitchen
Did the old pick up and eat at home thing. As fast food generally is. Spent about 48$. Not bad, considering I got 2 large entrees, 2 large soups, and 4 egg rolls. Entrees, rice, and soups were filled to the tops. Taste wise, the shrimp fried rice had a sweet onion taste to it. It's not overpowering. I enjoyed it. The sweet and sour chicken. Well fried, not overly battered, and the sauce was not too sweet, just right. Kids ate it all up. Eggs rolls had plenty of flavor. It was not greasy, and the cabbage was crisp. Soups were wanton and egg drop. My wife was feeling sickly, but the wonton gave her some pep. Wonton wasn't soggy, and the broth was light. Egg drop didn't need salt or pepper. I wish it had more egg chucks, but that's just my preference. Finally, the bagging. Let me just say this was bagged like a pro. I have never had a fast food chain bag with such care. It had cardboard to separate sections of food to keep the order leved. Literally slapped a seat belt on it like a child. PERFECT. Moved to the area, and this will be my families go-to for chinese takeout. Pictures are not the prettiest, but I did advertise a family takeout review.
Some Pros and Cons.... Cons. 1. The Mongolian Beef had a ton of onion (pictures provided) and lacked flavor. Not worth what you pay. 2. Rice is bland and lacked flavor. 3. The crab Rangoon are very small. Pros. 1. The customer service was excellent, & wait time was short for ToGo. 2. Soup was delicious (We had Wonton & Hot/Sour. 3. Spicy chicken was very flavorful, but TONS of onion. 4. Highly recommend sesame chicken. Over all I would give it a 3. Not the BEST or WORST.
Kain Na-Filipino Cuisine
Dropped in at around 1 pm on a Sunday. The place only had a few people dining. Ordered tea and chicken teriyaki with mixed vegetables and steamed rice. I noticed my table was not clean and noticed other tables were also not clean. My order took a while to arrive and when it did finally arrive my tea was missing. After all the negative encounters I was surprised how good the food was. Everything on my plate was delicious. I especially liked the lumpia’s. After I finished I waited for the check total but it looked like all staff were on a long break. I waited at the counter for someone to finally show up to pay. Some other things that were off here is the selection of music was loud and definitely was not Filipino music. I used the restroom and noticed it definitely was not clean and the urinal was broken. I also noticed half of the dining area floor was definitely not clean as my shoes were sticking to the floor.
I'm so lucky to have friends with good suggestions lol. When they said Filipino food I went straight to the thought of lumpia. I have always enjoyed a good lumpia. They have one! LOL. Service was good, while we were having lunch in a relatively empty room there was a constant in and out for to-go orders. No I mean constant. Never been here in the evening but I noticed they have a stage for what looks like a karaoke or music night. Everything we had was wonderful. The pictures I'm attaching will attest to the fact that each plate was beautifully laid out. I can't talk nice enough about this place. The only negative I have is that it's not closer to me LOL
