Ordered take out for lunch. The hibachi chicken teriyaki was flavorful but unfortunately the sushi was not. The spicy tuna roll is a mush of tuna and filler ingredients. Doesn't taste like fresh sushi at all and it had way too much rice. The spicy salmon roll was fresh but dry and no flavor. The Naruto roll was as expected. Probably not going back for sushi but the hibachi is worth a second try. The lunch wait wasn't long. Expect a 3.5% increase on credit cards. The service, hospitality was lacking. In a convenient area next to a public grocery store. Plenty of parking.

We've been ordering from here for years, and love their food, but every time in recent memory, our order has had food missing. This wouldn't normally be an issue if it were once or twice, but it has been every single order. The staff are always more than helpful with telling us we're able to come back and pick up anything missing, but there should be some sort of check the staff do prior to me leaving the restaurant.

Great Chinese food, and I like the many options they have for meals. I ordered the cashew shrimp, and it was served with a side of fried rice and a pork egg roll. And, of course, a fortune cookie!! The shrimp were huge, and I felt there were plenty for the size of the meal. The food was not greasy or salty and tasted fresh. There is indoor seating available. A variety of items on the menu with weekday lunch specials.

The food is consistent, hot and quick. In the year that I've been eating there, I've only had one issue and it was my fault and they still offered to assist me. Very convenient if you order online before pickup.

Was enjoying my rice and fried chicken that tasted fairly good and my husbands says, “ im sure your looking at your food, so you’d notice anything. But i just found a roach in my rice.” And my God there was indeed a roach in his rice …….. Entire appetite ruined.

Expectation management people. This is exactly what you want when you want to eat something not exactly healthy. We ordered general tso, sesame chicken, vegetable lo mein, beef and broccoli and spring rolls. Brocolli was crunchy and felt steamed not murdered. It got the job done on a Sunday night.

Flaming Wok 0

**Review for Flaming Wok** I recently visited Flaming Wok, a Chinese restaurant located at 730 Coleman Blvd, and had a very disappointing experience. The restaurant is owned by a white woman who was extremely rude and unprofessional. When I called to place an order, I had a few questions about their menu. Instead of addressing my concerns, the owner put me on hold without informing me and handed the phone to someone else out of apparent frustration. When I arrived at the restaurant, I tried to explain that I didn’t mean to be a bother and was just asking questions. Instead of understanding, she began yelling at me, demanding that I either place an order or leave because she had bills to pay. The worker who took over the call was very apologetic, but it was clear that he was under her directive. The owner made it clear that she didn’t care about customer service. As a customer, I felt that her behavior was biased, if not outright racist. It seemed that she felt she could get away with this behavior towards black customers, as I believe she would have treated me differently if I were a white male. I do not recommend anyone to eat at this restaurant if you support respectful and courteous service. My experience was highly unpleasant, and I believe no customer should be treated in such a manner.

This is the worst experience I’ve ever had at ANY restaurant. My husband ordered ahead and picked up the food. When we opened the food at home (less than 5 minutes away) we noticed that the fried rice was floating in a dark burnt oil. You could smell the old grease as soon as you opened the container. My egg roll had spoiled and they still fried it up and served it to us. This was unacceptable (especially after spending almost 40 dollars on food for two people). I went back to the restaurant to show them the food was spoiled and inedible. I noticed a young girl, maybe 5 years old, running around the kitchen while the stove and fryer were running. The male owner immediately started yelling at me and throwing food across the counter. He berated the woman working there telling her “goto the back with the children, you don’t speak to anyone else”. He continued to yell at me and the woman joined in. My husband arrived and the owner had a different tone of voice. I asked why he wouldn’t yell at him but would yell at me. He lied to my husband (who was on the phone the entire time) stating I “got in his face”. Things got so bad that i called 911 to deescalate the situation because the man began to make racial and sexist comments towards us such as “you people don’t know anything about Chinese food” and “you’re just a woman what would you know”. When the police arrived we explained the situation and they agreed that they were in the wrong and informed us to contact the health department and the BBB, which we did as soon as we left the restaurant. Long story long: DO NOT EAT AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT! They are RACIST AND SEXIST! And they will sell you SPOILED AND EXPIRED FOOD! There is no cleanliness or fresh food!

This is the typical Chinese food you’ll find in the North East. The other places I’ve tried down here all I can taste is sugar but here you actually get some flavor and heat. We’ve had the Mongolian chicken which I enjoy, the general Tao’s chicken which people seem to really like, and the kung pao chicken also came out nicely. Portion sizes are generous, prices are good. Service is no nonsense and quick because of it. It is definitely our go to spot for Chinese take out, not really a sit down place tho

COUNT ON IT! This place is great. Not because it’s the worlds best version of Chinese food. It’s takeout Chinese food, but at the top end of that category of Chinese. Where they truly excel is at ALWAYS getting the order exactly right and ALWAYS being fast. When you need a lot of food right now, you can count on this place. And when you call in your order, you better already be in the car on your way there when you do. Their kitchen is so fast it could probably play ping pong by itself.

I ordered the shrimp fried rice and 4 chicken wings shrimp was under cooked chicken tasted burnt/cooked in old grease bad after taste wouldn’t purchase again

My family and I have eaten from here on multiple occasions and we have never had any bad experiences here. The food is good and always hot. My favorite is the pepper steak and onion with ham fried rice with egg roll and my husband loves there hot and spicy pork with white rice. We will be back. The restaurant is always clean upon entering it. The food is always ready on time and there is never a long wait to get your order. We've always had good experiences with this restaurant and they will continue to receive our business in the future.

It’s your typical Chinese restaurant. I was sad that they didn’t have Pad Thai, but the sweet and sour chicken was good! My husband loved their General Tso’s. The egg roll was good, it doesn’t taste like what I’m used to. I’m from a different state so I’m used to my usual place I go to. My daughter was upset and the one guy gave her a cup that lights up. Overall, we were happy and would return next time we’re in town.

I work at the publix in the same shopping center, and come here to eat on occasion. Whenever I come in and order, its always clean and the good comes out relatively quick while also being freshly cooked. I wish some of the items would have a bit more flavor to them, but otherwise it is well worth the money

Hot Mustard 0

Hot Mustard

Hot Mustard in Charleston is an absolute gem of a Chinese restaurant, though it's clear from some reviews that not everyone understands what makes it special. Let me set the record straight: this is a five-star experience for those who know and appreciate authentic "dirty Chinese" food in all its glory. First, let's address the so-called "rude" service. This perception likely comes from Americans unfamiliar with the no-frills, direct style typical of many traditional Chinese establishments. Here, the couple running the show—cooking and taking orders—are incredibly efficient and helpful, ensuring you get exactly what you pay for. It's not rude; it's refreshingly honest and straightforward. And what you pay for is an incredibly affordable, flavorful meal. The dishes are exactly what you'd hope for: comforting, unpretentious, and absolutely delicious. Whether you're craving noodles, stir-fried dishes, or classic Chinese appetizers, every bite is packed full of authentic flavor. This is not the place for fine dining or fusion creations. It’s a place to indulge in classic Chinese comfort food done right. The ambiance? Exactly as you'd expect—a casual, laid-back vibe where the focus is solely on the food. We dined in and had an unforgettable time. The service was as expected: efficient, direct, and perfectly fitting for the environment. Hot Mustard is not for those seeking high-end or experimental cuisine. It's for people who love great food at a ridiculously reasonable price and can appreciate the charm of a hardworking, no-nonsense kitchen. If you approach it with the right expectations, you'll find it’s an incredible example of what a local Chinese restaurant should be. In short, Hot Mustard delivers exactly what it advertises: delicious, affordable Chinese food served with a side of unpretentious honesty. I couldn’t recommend it more for anyone craving authentic, no-frills Chinese dining. Just don’t come expecting luxury—come expecting a great meal and a genuine experience.

I work downtown I placed an order at 4:40, received my order at 5:15. I wasn’t able to go on my break until 6:15, my food still has steam coming off of it!! So good I recommend to anyone wanting hot food delivered!

New Peking Chinese Restaurant 0

I ordered from the New Peking in November 2024. My first impression was the all too common older restaurant that really needs an update, or at least some work. You order from behind a plastic window that separates the kitchen and counter area from what is considered a dining room. There are a good amount of booths, it’s very dark, and as earlier stated, needs work. I ordered the General special. That came with fried rice, soup and an egg roll. I think it was about $13. I feel that was a pretty fair price considering. I also grabbed two cans of soda for another $3. Although I didn’t need the second can, my total for dinner was only about $16 total. The food itself was okay. It wasn’t bad, but I definitely have had much better. But it did the job. I couldn’t eat it all. It wasn’t bad to eat. And it was pretty cost effective. I was only visiting the area and will not become a regular customer. But if back in the area, I would consider New Peking again. It’s not the best I’ve had. But is far from the worst. Like I said, it did the job.

Omg, my food was awful. This was always the best Chinese food in downtown Charleston. However, what a disappointment.I had Beef and broccoli and General Tso Chicken...there were no sauces just the meat, which was tough and over cooked. The only thing we were able to digest was the soup. Due to the egg prices, I guess they couldn't prepare Egg Foo Yung. This place needs a deep cleaning, improved lighting and better food prep. Again, what a fall from grace, the food was awful plus 😞

Good price & they give large portions. I got white rice, Bangkok chicken & orange chicken. Bangkok chicken was the best it had a lot of flavor. The orange chicken could’ve had more flavor. No stringy pieces of chicken.

Pei-Wei Asian Express in Haywood Mall at the Food Court really has the very best Noodles or Fried Rice with the Bourbon Chicken, it’s absolutely delicious and it’s always fresh when I go too.

So I got a small house right and it was $10. OK I’m Cool with that, but it only had two meetings in there which was shrimp and pork and the pork was very gray. Looked weird. The peas were hard was not done. I don’t think they care about their customers I just had a horrible experience and I’m never going back.

Very sincere owners just trying to make a living in a low-populated area, but the food is worse than subpar: greasy noodles & sauce, rubbery meat, stale flavor. I have reasonably low expectations of strip mall Chinese takeout places, but this one was lower-standard than even the most generic Chinese restaurants. The floors, surfaces, and plastic barriers that separated customers from employees were grimy and extremely dirty. As we are fairly new to the area, we really wanted to give this place a chance, but the food was decidedly lower than our already low expectations. Also, prices are exorbitant, especially for such low-quality food. There was barely any chicken in my large order of Lo Mein. One large Lo Mein with few pieces of chicken and a smattering of stringy cabbage and bok choy plus two spring rolls was $19.

I pretty much never do this type of review... negative... I honestly try to focus on anything positive n go w that but omggg no.. not this time due to I didn't see nor experience anything positive nor will I chance returning to dig deep for any positive. The buffet.. minimum is understatement on variety.. all food was omgg not good. Mushy or ancient n soggy.. the service almost non existent. And just no.. trust me. Just do not attempt this place. No no. No no

This was my first visit to the Hong King Chinese Buffett, the food that I ate was very delicious the yellow rice was amazing. The chicken wings 2 different flavors were very good as well. I also tried some of the sweet and sour chicken and it was tasty. The restaurant was clean and tidy and the workers were very polite. I will definitely eat there again with my family.
