Sun's Kitchen
Lots and lots of items on the menu. They make the food fresh. Prices a little higher than what I was expecting but the food was very good. Generous portions. Clean kitchen and counters.
It’s the classic spot. You have to eat the noodles here they’re so good. The quality of the noodles is amazing. Sometimes they pull it in front of you. I usually get the dumpling noodles. I’ve been eating from here since I was young, and it hasn’t changed; classic.
白家老汤(Northwestern Chinese Cuisine)
Great noodle place with hand cut noodles, rice noodles and more. Soup bases are delicious, portions are generous, flavours are great, service was good too.
Amazing restaurant serving northwestern comfort foods! The service is wonderful and the staff really make you feel like you’re eating at your aunty’s house. Staff can speak both Mandarin and English, so don’t hesitate to try this restaurant! The restaurant is not too busy most of the time, so you’ll likely be able to walk-in easily. Their menu items are all packed with umami flavour, with many options for spicy and non-spicy lovers! Soups have a rich bone broth with many dishes being noodle-based. They have a wide variety of proteins from beef to chicken to lamb to tofu, so there’s something for everyone. We had their new combo specials that come with 4 fried chicken wings and a drink—it’s such a good deal! Food portion is large and so delicious, and at such a great price of $15-17 each set! Highly recommend stopping by!
Ming's Restaurant
Wanted to try this restaurant after someone showed us a social media post about this place. Have to say I wasn't really impressed. The place has some nice deals for afternoon tea where you get some decent value for money, but to be honest I wasn't overly impressed with the food. The hainanese chicken was decent, but the rice in oil served with it wasn't really well made (was a bit too soft) and was a bit bland. The seafood rice dish also wasn't really flavourful either. We did get a free dish of salty and spicy pork because the restaurant was offering it free if you pay cash and spend more than $40. That dish was decent. Service overall was okay. The people working there are pretty nice, but the waitress who took our orders seemed a little absent minded and got our orders wrong.
With a very affordable price, you can enjoy a quick meal! Perfect for when you're in a hurry or for a lunch break. The set meals come with a soup and a drink, and you can pay with a debit card. The day we went, the card machine was broken, and the nice lady just asked us to pay on our next visit. Awesome service!
Yan Can Cook 顏記
We think Yan Can Cook is one of the best value restaurants with a wide variety of delicious dishes! We ordered fresh meat wonton rice noodles for $8 and salt and pepper pork chop with a drink/soup for $10. Everything is freshly made and full of Hong Kong flavour! The salt and pepper pork steak is tender and not very salty, and you won’t feel thirsty after eating their food! The dry-fried beef rice noodles has a wok-like flavor and is not greasy at all, it’s just right. For someone like me who is sensitive to MSG, it’s really good to eat here! The cashier & floor staff members kept a smile on their face, remained polite and entertain my request of what I ordered(less soup😛), and efficiently handled each customer’s order!
This is a not so eye-catching stall. But the glutinous rice is of top quality! "Small box" cost only Ca$ 6.8 (inclusive tax) but portion good enough! The rice is of round type, hot in temperature, with conventional food inside, good taste. Comparing to the neighbour stall which always has long queue, this stall should rank top choice too.
Ritzy Palace Chinese Cuisine
I would give this restaurant 3.5 ⭐ for dim sum. Food tastes decent, for reasonable portion sizes and prices. The restaurant decor is quite outdated and could use a renovation. Some of the set meals are a good deal, and are worth trying if you come in a group. Staff are also friendly. I was most impressed with the size and quality of their egg tarts. I sat in the room, and there was a very slight paint smell the day I went.
This place gets really busy, arrive before they open or you’ll have to wait 30-45 minutes for a table. You’ll get a number at the front booth and they will call it out - CASH ONLY!!! Great food, tasty and fresh to order. All arrived quickly, but it’s a little pricey in comparison to other dim sum restaurants.
Tangerine Asian Cuisine
Went with the family for Lunch and the food was just delicious. Picked up Spicy Cumin Beef lunch menu which came with the man chow soup, Manchurian Eggplant and chilly fish dry. The food was fresh and hot. Really great service and love the ambience.
I love this place! I haven’t eaten inside the restaurant in a couple of years, however when I called the other day to order pick up and let them know about a gluten allergy, the lady on the phone was very accommodating and very clear in making sure that I understood what was safe or not. When picking up the food, they kept it packed separately and labeled ( we didn’t even ask for), which we really appreciated. Their dedication to our safety was excellent! I also recommend the sesame chicken. It is my favourite dish!
Fortune Stone Restaurant 滾石餐廳
There was a mandatory service charge but no service at all. No water was provided and of course no water refill. When I asked the boss if she would provide water, she said "You should ask! Customers here don't drink water!" Her attitude was extremely bad. There was no waiter around for the whole meal. I couldn't find anyone to ask for more paper towels. I waited for ten minutes to get my bill. When I asked if there was a debit, the boss yell in a very bad attitude, "Come out and pay here!"
This is a typical HK style cafe. We came in Friday at noon, and it was not so busy, got seated immediately. Interior decorations are neat with a cozy atmosphere. The staff is very friendly, foods are served so quickly, feel like once placed the order, foods sent to table within 3 minutes. Ordered: 1. Beef wudong noodles-4/5 2. Pork chops with spaghetti 4/5 3. Mixed veggies Salad 3/5 4. Fried Chicken wings with fries 4/5 Overall quality is good, however it seems that they just increase the price though.
Phoenix Restaurant
Came as a recommendation for the hainanese chicken rice and it did not disappoint! Boneless too. Rice was flavoured and the soup was peppery. Girlfriend was craving wings too and for a classic dish of HK wings fried fresh with fries, it hit the spot. Ying yang coffee was on the sweeter side but I ain’t complaining! Cash discount 😉
Chinese fast food restaurant. Decent price and portion. We did a walk in for party of 3. Wait time was within 15 mins. There is a cash promotion which is great and good is good. Will definitely go back.
Shanghai Shikumen Fine Cuisine
This is one of very few Shanghai dishes restaurants in Toronto. Disregard some of the reviews on the internet, we found it to be surprisingly good. The interior is a little bit out of dated, but it gives a feel of old Shanghai which we like. The service is better than we anticipated, efficient and simple, the waitress/ store manager can speak Shanghai dialect, which is a plus. The food we tried is the Egg Braised meatball $21.99 very tender and not too salty, the veggies inside is so yummy, although we never tasted egg inside meatball in Shanghai, we liked it. Stir Fried Pork Liver $18.99 is so good, it is so tender and the source is tasty, must try. Tomato and shrimp crispy rice crust $21.99, it is nice combination of sweet and sour, crispy and soft texture. House special pan fried bun $9.99 is what we aim for, consistently good. Steamed pork bun $9.99 is also very yummy, must order item every time. Overall, it is a very decent Shanghai food restaurant which is worth trying.
Traditional Shanghai dishes and dimsun, fusion with other tasty Chinese foods, yummy and good presentation, reasonable price. Friendly services and spacious seating.
Lucky Seafood House
Not a bad option for dim sum, especially considering the long line-ups at the restaurants just across the street. I imagine the location plays a role in this - it's a bit harder to see from Woodbine, and doesn't have a very flashy exterior. The inside layout is also a bit odd and isn't the most accessible especially for elders. That aside, the food is pretty good and the price is great. They are one of the few places I've observed that still offer pre-11AM deals. It is only $4.98 for S, M, L dishes before 11AM. This is an extremely good deal. Their portions are normal and the taste is authentic. I truly believe you cannot find cheaper dim sum in the GTA anymore. They have all the normal dishes but nothing too unique or special on the menu. The restaurant did fill up but it wasn't full the entire time we were there. When we first arrived at 9:30AM there were plenty of available tables. I can appreciate a restaurant with no wait these days. Our bill was around $150 I believe, for 10 people. Very very reasonable.
This is hands-down one of the best dim sum spots I’ve had in a while. Everything is made to order, super fresh, and packed with flavour. The selection is huge, and the best part? From 11:00am to 3:00pm, all small, medium, and large dishes are just $4.98! It’s an unreal deal—I honestly don’t know how they make a profit, but I’m not asking questions. If you’re a dim sum lover, don’t sleep on this place. I’m rooting for their success and will definitely be back while the promo lasts.
Magic Fusion Cuisine
I ordered "T3 黑椒汁牛扒煎蛋, Blade Sirloin with Egg Black Pepper Sauce 意", which costed $15.99. The sirloin was very hard and rest of the food was ok good. Really, please adjust your cooking method or time management
Legit HK style restaurant, the sauce of fish ball really taste the same back in HK though they used the big size one. Company sandwiches surprisingly in large portion
手工包子铺 Authentic Chinese Dumplings
🍽️ : ordered the pan fried pork bun, pork wonton soup and beef noodle soup. 💰 : total bill was $38.41 for all the items Reason for rating: - there was a 20-25 minute wait time to receive the food - the food is good however the pan fried pork buns are a little too heavy on the dough. Also parts of the bottom weren't properly sealed so the juices kept leaking out - portions are decent sized so at least you finish full - a little amusing how you only get 1 piece of vegetable for your entire noodle dish -they give an extreme amount of broth with the noodle soup, so you'll need a huge bowl when you eat it at home I'll come back to this place due to the convenience factor
Saw this place in our area open up for a few weeks now, decided to finally drop by. Got to try their tofu dish and steamed buns! Both dishes were really fresh and would definitely recommend to my friends. Give it a try if your in the area, we will be coming back soon! Owners are very nice people!
