Lunasia Dim Sum House
One of the best Dim Sum in SGV. This Alhambra favorite lives up to the hype with both quality and variety. The dining space is modern and always bustling, but if you time it right, you can skip the crowd. We came on a Monday at 12:30pm, zero wait, walked right in. Weekends, though? Be ready for a long line. Fortunately, they use a Yelp waitlist, which makes the wait a bit easier to manage if you're planning ahead. We ordered 5 dim sum today: Spinach Shrimp Dumpling: Translucent wrapper, juicy shrimp, and fresh spinach. Clean, light, and flavorful. Shrimp Cheung Fun: Smooth rice noodles wrapped around tender shrimp with a soy sauce on the side classic and comforting Beef Balls: Springy and savory, served on some veggies with worcestershire sauce on the side Bolo Bun (Pineapple Bun) with BBQ Pork: This one hit all the marks. Crunchy, golden topping with warm, soft bread and a rich, sweet-savory BBQ pork filling. The textures here are unbeatable. Mala Cake (Cantonese Brown Sugar Cake): Soft, spongy and sweet. Service was quick and efficient, and dishes came out hot. Prices lean a bit upscale for dim sum, but the portions and quality more than justify it
Lunasia Dim Sum in Alhambra is a fantastic spot for an authentic and delicious dim sum experience! The variety on their menu is impressive, and each dish is carefully crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The dumplings are generously sized and bursting with flavor - the shrimp dumplings (har gow) are plump and perfectly steamed, and the siu mai is savory and satisfying. The crispy shrimp rolls and egg tarts are also must-tries, with a delicate balance of textures and flavors. The ambiance is lively, and the staff is attentive, making for a wonderful dining experience. Lunasia is truly a gem for anyone craving top-notch dim sum in the area!
Kue's Chinese Kitchen and Bar
The food is great! The mala chicken was chewy with a little kick. Watercress with fish cake was aromatic. The fish cake was fresh and chewy. The coconut soup had black chicken and fragrant of coconut water. The servers were very polite and attentive. And they have their own parking. Overall a great experience! Highly recommended 👍
I went to this restaurant on a Sunday after I conveniently saw it across from Alhambra's farmer's market. I ate lunch here, but the restaurant is typically open weekday evenings. At first impression, the restaurant had a bit of an upscale ambiance. The food is a little pricey, and I admittedly feel like I could get the same dishes for a lower price or bigger portions elsewhere, but the ingredients taste fresh. I got the crispy calamari, Dongpo pork belly, and the eggplant salted fish claypot. I found the Dongpo pork belly to be incredibly tender, although the cut of meat was too fatty for me. I ate the pork belly with rice and it still felt too oily and was difficult to eat for my own tastes, although some might like the texture and flavors. To be honest, the restaurant's food did not stand out to me. My lunch total, with drinks and rice, came out to a total of about $81. Good overall service and decent food.
The Bay Cafe
The price is awesome. Each dish can be low as $6. We had Brunch combo for $10.99. It’s not a 5 star dish, but the price, it certainly exceeds its value. The location is close to Main Street and Garfield Ave where it is the center of Alhambra area. This restaurant provides both authentic Chinese local food or typical American dish. U won’t go wrong to dine in this place. Because many elder Chinese already know this place, don’t get surprised if u see many elder Chinese dine with you.
Feels like typical Hong Kong style restaurant. Place gets loud when full. Food is great, and price is very reasonable. Pork chop with honey garlic is very crisp with honey sauce. Service is good, and our food came fast. Free parking structure is available next to the restaurant. We came early for lunch, and there are empty seats, but when we are done, place is full and need to wait for seats.

Stop by this restaurant since it's on our way and we've been hearing rexommendation about it but I just get so disappointed with the food because they are too salty. I ordered Mongolian beef as it is one of their especiallties, house fried rice for my son that we shared. General tsao chicken for my husband and they were all salty. I am not a good cook but I can tell if the food is bad or not. I don't think I'm gonna go back there again. Hospitality wasn't that great either. It's our because we walk in there less than an hour before they close that they treat us like we are not welcome? Anyways, I'm not recommending this to any of my friends or relatives.
Vacationing in the area. Popped into this place in the beginning of the week for take out AND Then towards end of week for dine in. Great clean environment. Kind staff. Delicious food. If you are around this place and hungry, make a point to pop in. So yummy!
Lan’s Wok
Decent customer service atmosphere was ok and small, the food on the other hand was a atrocity, ordered the bourbon chicken, chicken had a weird texture, super dry and looked partially uncooked, the taste was questionable and as result the dish could not be finished, rice was ok and egg roll was dry.
They are a family owned restaurant and we stopped by one night after a chess tournament ended late and they were already closing up, but the owner still let us in and made yummy Chinese food for us when everything else was closed, so for that service they get 5* for going above and beyond. Their dumplings and shrimp lo mein were really well made and delicious. The pork fried rice was decent.
Lucky Garden Chinese Restaurant
Great food!!! I would definitely recommend this place for takeout.
Kung Pao and Spicy Shrimp with General Tao is no joke on spice! Thank you!!
Great Wall Chinese Restaurant
A very good dish is, the General Tso's Chicken 🐔, shrimp 🍤 lo mein, 😋 a bowl of fresh mixed vegetables and a shrimp roll. For those of you that prefer a spicy kick to your Tso's chicken, might I recommend the Dragon 🐉 and Phoenix dish. I will say I've tasted several dishes, normally all delicious, and priced reasonably. I personally will be tasting several more through time. As far as the service goes, very nice in my experience. As far as atmosphere it reminds me of if you were to go eat Chinese in the city, Some holes in the wall 🧱 are recommended and you experience friendliness and good quality food. It's worth it in my opinion. I've been to nice locations without as friendly people or service or quality taste as here. Thank you -Maurice-
Excellent Chinese food with great prices... I stumbled across this place after getting my hair done at David's hair salon (which by the way is a wonderful place to go to) ... This little Chinese place was around the corner so I decided to give it a try.. I was not disappointed with the price or the food.. they're very friendly, food was good & btw crab won ton (outta this world 😉) .. I've returned here once & also had a positive experience.
Old Chen Chinese Restaurant
They have great food. The wait is usually pretty long because they seem to stay busy. The food is worth it. I do wish they would open the dining area instead of takeout only, but either way, I'll be eating there again.
This is a long-standing family owned business. Service and food have always been great. It has been takeout only since the start of the COVID pandemic; dining in is not currently an option. I would love to see dine-in become an option again someday in the future.
Panda House
Excellent Chinese carryout food! The sign out front says Beijing Garden, but you're in the right place, it really is Panda House. There are no tables for dining in, and they are cash only. The food is delicious and I highly recommend it.
Excellent Hunan chicken & fried rice. Lots of broccoli, onion, mushrooms, etc. Chicken good and good sauce. Fried rice with onion & green onion. Nice lady waitress + cook, same person, tipped extra. Open late for dining room since I couldn't get back to Adrian in time for late dinner. (I added my photos from 2017 in 2020.)
China Dragon
So yesterday I ordered from this place twice. The first time I had change to tip the delivery person. Which I do every time I order from here. The second order the person I ordered for didn't give me enough to tip. Do you know the delivery person went to the restaurant to report he did not get a tip. The one and only time I didn't, I'm getting a lecture. I found all this out when the person taking orders had the nerve to tell me about a tip. How is it my fault that they decided to not pay him and he work off tips. First of all a tip is not mandatory. Maybe he should go get a job that actually pays him. Never again!!! It's only Chinese good it will not be missed from my diet. If you order from here you you have to meet their order minimum, pay the delivery fee, and BETTER HAVE A TIP.
Never fails to disappoint. She always gives me the smallest portion of fries or rice. This was the last time. Check your food before you leave. They do not give the right portions
China Chef
Some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had, the crab Rangoons, spring rolls, and sweet and sour chicken all tasted delicious. The price was reasonable and the order was ready within the time expected.
Coming from a small owed business family myself THIS is a great family owned business .They're just trying to put on the table for you & I...Not to mention they do a GREAT job doing it. My food is always on point, warm, and the wife is exceptionally warming & polite. ! We just love her! Thanks China Chef. You guys are great! 👍 💯😃
Marco & Luca Dumplings
I'm always on the search for dumplings, so seeing this local chain caught my attention. With a limited menu, I had high hopes that they'd hit on all items. While the flavors were decent, I'm relatively sure this is pretty standard frozen steam buns and dumplings from an Asian market marked up quite a lot. The dumplings seem extremely similar to the Way Fong frozen dumplings (probably my favorite brand of frozen dumplings), except they're deep fried and covered with a lot of sauce. The sauce and dumplings aren't bad, but the sauce overpowers the nice flavor of the dumplings. The steam buns are fine, but I think they're reheating them in a microwave. What happens is the dough gets really tough/chewy within a minute or so once it's out of the microwave. If you like the dumplings, check out Way Fong frozen dumplings.
This place has been here for decades! I stop by everytime I’m in the area. I love the sauce and a cheap snack!
