86 Joy Cafe 莲旺茶餐厅
Great food and reasonable prices! They make the best beef pan-fried rice noodles in town! Don't forget to ask for the chief special spice oil!
I had one of the best sesame chicken here! This will be my kids go to restaurant for their favorite dish from now on. The mixed grill and yellow eel rice casserole great too! Will definitely be back to try more items.
Taste of Asia
Great selection of chinese entrees. Self-service and pay by the pound $10. I got a full plate for $13 and it was great. Nice place for quick bite 👍
Yum! Great place for lunch! All the food iv tried has great flavor and you get to serve yourself. The guy is always so friendly. Quick grab and go.
Tim Ho Wan East Village
I can see why this dim sum spot is so popular. The food is incredibly flavorful, with a great variety of dishes that truly stand out. The quality is definitely noticeable, and you can taste the care and attention to detail in every bite. That said, the price is definitely on the higher side compared to other dim sum places in the city. But, given that it has a Michelin star, I guess you’re paying for that elevated experience. Still, it’s worth trying if you’re in the mood for something special! Just be prepared to pay a bit more.
You can't go wrong with the rice rolls. Pork ribs are also juicy and soft. Turnip cake is crispy on the outside. Also saw a lot of people get the buns The dessert custard buns were made fresh. They were great but they took a while to come out.
Xi'an Famous Foods 西安名吃 | Union Square
# Overall: I'll be back at Xi'an to try more items from their menu. If you're not sure about spicy food, I recommend checking out their burgers. # Ambiance This Xi'an's famous foods is one of the smaller franchises that I've visited. There's not too much seating, but it is pretty convenient to order takeout from. There's a self serve kiosk and an area for you to grab your utensils of choice. # Food and Drink Spicy & Tingly Beef Muscle Hand-Ripped Noodles The noodles are the main attraction in the dish. I've had the cumin lamb version before and I prefer that over the beef muscle. The cut of beef here just ends up a little more tough than I'd like to chew. You just can't go wrong with a spicy sauce on some noodles though. Stewed Pork Burger The burger is a great order in its own right. The bun is very dense, but it pairs very nicely with the meat, giving almost and extra level of sweetness to the bite, contrasting with the richness and the saltiness of the pork meat. This burger isn't spicy, but is still a great order whether or not you can handle spice.
Their signature lamb flat noodles are worth the hype. This type of cuisine is unrivaled compared to other parts of the US. Next time, I’ll have to save my appetite to eat more items or take it to-go. There’s only 6 seats at this location. I came right before it got busy with a friend and 2 seats opened up. We ate quickly to be courteous for the line that was beginning to form. Wipe and clean the countertop yourself
Panda Restaurant
I’ve been coming here for well over three years now, and I can’t believe I haven’t left a review! The staff, from the cooks to the cashier, are so incredibly friendly. They always greet you with a smile and make sure you leave with one as well. The family here at Panda are very proud of the food they prepare and serve, and the quality is always impeccable. This is the ONLY Chinese restaurant that I’ve gone to that I’VE NEVER GOTTEN SICK FROM!! It’s always clean!! My husband and I have ordered many different dishes from their menu and have never been disappointed. I’ve also asked about dishes on their menu that I haven’t tried, and they are always more than happy to tell me about them, and I usually end up trying it! They love their customers, which is something that sets them apart from the other restaurants in the area. They have very reasonable prices, so you don’t have to worry about breaking the bank just to have some great food! The next time you visit Panda, be sure to leave a good tip, they definitely deserve it and you won’t be disappointed in your meal! Sincerely, A VERY happy customer
Heard good things about Panda and this was our first time visit. Not very impressed. I ordered large shrimp with Chinese vegetables which has bok choy instead of broccoli. My order only had boy choy and 3 pieces of cut carrots and no other vegetables and 6 shrimp. The sauce was very watery and had no taste at all, probably because of so much boy choy! I will be going to a restaurant closer to home.
Yummy Yummy
I ordered the General Tso's chicken. Honestly, for the taste and portion, it is quite good in value for some tradeoff in service and shop design. The taste is arguably decent-to-good, and it definitely does not stand out. However, the size is good for the price you are paying.
Eaten here since i was a child, always loved everything about this place. It may not be one of those fancy places rich people go to, but that's part of what makes it so special to me. Amazing food, what more is there. Best and most memorable restaurant I've ever had the honor of eating at.
New China Wok
Friendly staff and very helpful. Food was prepared super fast and was quite tasty. Portion size was very generous and there is seating for a few in the front if you want to eat in, but very drafty.
I’ve been ordering here for nearly a decade. This is the best Chinese food in Gowanus. I empathize with others with 1 star services because for me this place had kept their quality consistently for years on end. I genuinely get shocked when there’s one stars but everyone’s experience is different.
Koong Wing
Always delicious with friendly service and low prices.
Excellent food. Everything so far has been marvelous
Brother Asian Cuisine
The food is not Chinese food. The fried chicken tastes like its been fried at least 4 or 5 times in old oil. The fried rice tastes like rice and soy sauce with egg. Not made the traditional way at all. The portions are also small but its not that big of a deal because the food is so bad.
Good quality food. White meat chicken in the General Tso's. Definitely better ingredients than many other local spots.
86 Noodles
Previous owners retired (after 28 years) and new owners have finally opened. They've immediately doubled the prices. The portions are smaller and the food is less tasty. The takeout container for a full-sized entree wasn't full and even the side of plain white rice was a smaller portion
I live in the area for years and haven’t been here in a while so I decided to try them again. The wings were only 2 1/2 wings / 5 pieces in total. It wasn’t a whole wing was bland yet fried well, the sesame chicken, which I usually love from almost anywhere was I had a taste can’t really can’t explain left my tongue pasty. The house rice was bland. I’m not a big user of soy sauce so I try to just eat it as is I don’t like to add salt. If I don’t really have to usually I don’t, so I just tolerated the rice. Not sure what I paid $44 for. Expensive and not worth it
New Tung Hing
New Hung Ting is a hidden gem in Brooklyn! The food is consistently delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. Whether you're craving classic Chinese dishes or something a bit more unique, their menu has plenty of great options. The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. The staff is always friendly and efficient, making both dine-in and takeout experiences enjoyable. Highly recommend New Hung Ting for anyone looking for quality Chinese food in the area!
If you’re patient enough to deal with being cut off IN THE MIDDLE OF TRYING TO ORDER YOUR FOOD, please by all means, give it a go. Every time I tried to say anything, while ordering my food, I was being cut off repeatedly by the lady having a conversation in Chinese to someone in the back as if she doesn’t have a customer in her ear trying to order food. I get it if they’re talking about other orders, but this wasn’t the case. There was laughter between the convo, and just nonstop talking. The least she could’ve done was ask me for a minute, rather than just leave me on the phone wondering if she forgot about a customer trying to order food. Yet another terrible customer service from Chinese takeout.
China Delight
Service was friendly and fast. Food was delicious! Very hot and fresh. It was so good that I forgot to take photos of the food first 🤦♀️. Lemonade was refreshing, not too sweet. Most definitely recommend.
They done played me. Closed when I got here at (11:43) am on a Wednesday I was planning on obtaining a pork fried rice combo, but sadly I can’t now
