Joe’s Steam Rice Roll 0

Joe’s Steam Rice Roll

Joe’s Steam Rice Roll is doing it right. I got the beef rice roll, and it was on point—fresh, smooth, and packed with flavor. No extras, no nonsense, just solid food. Cash only, so don’t show up unprepared. Service is quick, prices are fair, and the rice rolls speak for themselves. If you’re in Flushing, pull up.

Dingy looking and definitely no frills, but some really good steamed rice rolls. It's all about the food here. Definitely worth coming to Flushing for. Got the Joe's Special and a curry fish ball steamed rice roll. Surprisingly like the curry ball one better.

If you're looking for a sit down full service restaurant, this is not it. It's basically fast food... you read the menu, order and pay at the counter, get your own silverware/bowls/napkins, then sit down. They bring the food to your table when ready. The food comes out very quickly and it's very tasty. I tried the duck noodle soup, pot stickers, soup dumplings, and potato leek dumplings. Everything was delicious. Total price was only about $30 and we shared between 4 people.

best dry veggie stir fry ever…puts a smile on this vegetarian’s face

Freshly made but long wait (more than 10-15 minutes). Great technique: good amt of soup and crispy bottom. The taste of the filling is just OK. I prefer the Shanghai style of a very thick bottom bun - almost 3/4” so this one is very thin. 6 for $9, 8 for $11. A bit of a wait. Apple Pay, credit card at same rate as cash. Dec 2024

The pan fried buns here are pretty good. I still prefer my spot in Manhattan; but these prices can't be beat. The filling is generous and soup in the buns, tasty. I prefer a thicker, fluffier wrap; but for this price, I'm still happy with what I got.

Very affordable to go bento shop with limited seating inside. Service was very friendly and quick. Food was delicious. Good portion.

Hidden gem in NYC, I always make sure to stop by during my visits. The prices are unmatched but more importantly, the depth in flavor is what makes this place so memorable.

This is my first time trying the Chinese food in this place and once I stepped in the place is very clean. However I saw the worker put my fried rice in the microwave to heat it up before putting my sesame chicken. I thought the rice would be fresh and not over heated but in the end was okay. The chicken felt really old and had a wet taste to it. Would've been at least a 4 if I didn't see them heat the rice in the microwave but food was good.

Food is a hit or miss but it pisses me off when i order bbq wings and they send this. They charge extra for bbq sauce and barely put any on the wings

We were visiting Flushing and noticed this food truck when we walked by a few times after 5:30pm-6pm. Finally had a chance to try it and wished that we did it sooner, not on the last night of our trip. The name is labeled incorrectly and should be Ajiang BBQ instead. He took his time with the bbq, the seasoning was right on and spicy! Most items are $2 with some at market price. We tried the squid ($5) and really delicious! Give him a try and you’ll be glad that you do. Starts at 6pm though.

It’s mostly $2 for the meat, and they’re big! Bigger than most of the other skewer carts around flushing. There’s isn’t a lot of people, so the wait isn’t long to order. The guy had just opened up the cart here not too long ago so there’s still new people finding him out, but I bet he’s gonna get busy after people finish shopping and want a snack. Definitely worth a try!

I went during Chinese New Year, food was alright not too shabby, there wasn’t really anything special about it. The aesthetic was pretty nice, all black with glass roof that’s reflective. The service was pretty bad although the servers were nice, they kept saying they ran out of certain items which caused us to miss out on a lot of the things we wanted to eat, furthermore when they switched to an alternative that also ran out. They were not at all prepared and I probably won’t go there again. Not only that but since we were a large group, it was really inconvenient for us to eat the food since it was all spread out.

If you are Fuzhouness, you gotta go here. Save up some money first though, because this is a luxury Fuzhou cuisine restaurant. We had some classic dishes: lychee pork, Buddha jump over wall soup, crab and rice roast. It was around $130 per person, which is definitely a bit expensive but worth it for a special occasion meal. We made a reservation since it was for Christmas night. They were relatively busy so it was recommended though not necessary.

We have been curious about what Chicken Pot tastes like since it's a completely new dish for us. We had both chicken and brisket hot pot. It's overall delicious and appetizing with a reasonable portion. However, their fried skewers were our favorites, especially the eggplant with sweet and sour sauce.

This is the worst food. It's gone bad. It smells bad. It's not recommended to come here. I'll never come here again.

Pros: Love the fact that their lunch special ends at 5pm instead of around 3pm. They give you appetizer dishes when you dine in and love the wheat tea they serve hot. Cons: It's a shame that they won't let you use your credit card unless you spend over $20 but they charge you tax on the food anyways when you pay cash;so that's abnormal for flushing. I have a few favorite dishes here but decided to try their a dish on their lunch special; twice now... Super greasy !! So much oil .. It felt disgusting even tho the food tasted good. But the amount of greasy in my food made me sick.

Great and authentic food from Korean-town in China. But barbeque is not that good.

Yukun Shaobing 0

This is perhaps some of the best shaobing found in a small stall down one of the mini food halls in Flushing. Shaobing is a traditional Chinese flatbread in northern Chinese cuisine that's baked and layered, optionally stuffed with sweet or savory fillings. It's a common breakfast item that’s flaky, juicy and dense. We got the black pepper beef shoabing ($4) and the spicy cumin lamb shoabing ($5) here at Yukun Shaobing, located inside Landmark Quest Mall. Both options were juicy, but the lamb one was extraaa juicy - delicious, a perfect snack on a cold winter day. We visited on a snow day, so these were like little hand warmers. Yukun Shaobing also has a whole bunch of other filling options such as chicken, spicy squid, pork, red bean, shrimp & corn, and spicy tofu. No seating for this stall. Beware of the hot bursting juice when you bite in and don’t forget to bring cash!

Ordered 3 different types. Very delicious. My favorite was the 3 meat stuffing. It's only once you bring these back home and reheat (baked in oven) that you truly appreciate how greasy these are. An absolute gut bomb. 5 stars for flavor minus 2 for extreme grease.

Really good Chinese food. Might be difficult to know exactly what you’re ordering unless you can read the Chinese menu, but probably can’t go wrong with anything!

My son has been wanting to taste "authentic" Chinese food in Flushing for a long time, and a trip to JFK took us there. This place is a real gem - we had thought that it was a small noodle house, so were pleasantly surprised to see that they had a rich and diverse menu. Although specializing mostly in southwestern Chinese cuisine, the menu also features certain northern flavors, such as the famous Shaanxi hamburger "marinated meat in baked bun"(肉夾饃). My son ordered one and claimed it was delicious - the bun had a crispy shell and the braised pork inside was cooked to perfection. I ordered the vegetarian Mifen (rice noodle) in a clay pot. I thought it would come out in a petite jar, but it was in a real size POT that could feed a whole family! The noodle soup was a bit on the bland side, but with the line up of seasonings on the table, I customized my own flavors. My son loves "Stinky Tofu" - in this version, it was pungent fermented tofu fried crispy on the outside in a dipping sauce. Although I generally stay clear of strong smells (I avoid durian at all cost), this plate of tofu was a nice surprise! It didn't smell much but tasted really nice. My son chose the "sliced lamb mifen", which he consumed with gusto. We also ordered "fish fillet in hot chilli oil" (水煮魚), which was infused with Szechuan peppercorn that left one's tongue and throat tingling. The portions were generous for the modest pricing, we packed most of the fish dish home for our next dinner. p.s. The menu on the internet is incomplete. I could not find most of the dishes that we ordered.
