Bao Bao Cafe
The popcorn chicken is all that everyone has been saying. It’s crispy. Light. FLAVORFUL. Was an enjoyable lunch and the portion was enough that I had left overs. Will definitely come back and try another dish. A lot of folks visiting for lunch were getting the ramen or little hot pot.
The octopus not fresh and taste funny. The Malatang noodle was ok doesn’t taste much flavor , the dandan noodle was great! Total of $27 for above !
China Us
One of my new quick eats spots, to brighten up any long morning with fresh meals and a nice sitting area.
There are self-service weighed Asian dishes (fried noodles, fried chicken, pasta, etc.) for $12/pound. The soup is a bit salty, and it operates like a supermarket with an inside seating area. Lunch costs about $50 for a family and is right opposite the exit after visiting the Empire State Building.
Food King
This is going to be short, take this with a grain of salt. I’m looking for Chinese food and normally I want Chinese good on the healthy side if things but I walk into Kwok Food King and was greeted by the lovely lady and ask if and when I’m ready let her knows. Few times later, I order my food but had to wait because there is only one food right now. A family was waiting for their food and mine came soon after theirs. The woman again, thank me and I thank her. That Homemade iced tea wasn’t sweet (that’s a good thing) it’s tea with lemon. That’s it, perfect. If you get homemade iced tea from others and it’s crazy sweet, then you know the owner and cooks do not care about your health. I know this is kit 4-5 start dynasty dinner or meals that I normally will have back in China. But this is America, I get what I can get, lol. Food was good too and not over cooked
Called in a large order for delivery, staff were very nice and patient with our requests. Delivery was quick and food is delicious. Their lunch special is so worth it, $7.75 for entree with rice and soda/soup. Will be ordering from them again.
Mei Lai Wah
If you’re coming to Chinatown for a food crawl, definitely make this your first stop. The pork buns are worth the hype, worth the wait. The line will go pretty fast and they have them ready so once you get to the window they’ll just hand them to you. We tried the pineapple roast pork bun, and the steamed roast pork bun. The roasted bun was crispy and filled with a sweet fatty pork mixture. The steamed bun was so soft and they’re both filled with a good amount of pork. I recommend bringing cash but there is a card option with a separate line
I ordered the pineapple pork bun, steamed pork bun and one Chinese bread. The pineapple pork bun is their signature item. It’s good but didn’t surprise me though. The line up was long. Here is a tip for all of you. You might see two lines in front of the store. One is cash only line. The other is cashless line that has a computer for you to place your orders. Go with the computer line. You place your order and u can leave the line. They will text you when your order is ready. It’s much faster than cash line because cash line customers will have to order face to face.
Macao Trading Company
Came here on an early Friday evening with no reservations. Hostess sat us quickly. Within an hour the restaurant was packed. It looked like a nice ambience for date night. We just ordered a few apps. The glass noodles had lots of flavor. Waitress was nice and friendly.
Such a fun romantic place to go for a date night! Good: - The lobster noodles were amazing! I was blown away since the noodles were so tasty and chewy and also the sauce had so much flavor The lobster meat was tender and savory - The dessert was so good the donuts were flakey and chewy and adding on the condensed milk was nice - Very solid ambiance, dimly lit and private booths to eat Bad: - The place is pretty expensive! - Took a long time to flag down waiters and get them to take our orders - nice servers though Overall enjoyed the experience here and would come again! I liked he decorations mostly and the way it crafted an experience
Burp Bowl Cafe
Lovely service and delicious food! I had the lamb rice noodles. You have the option of adding extra protein, vegetables, and an egg. You can also customize it to make it spicy. I ordered the lamb rice noodles as is. The workers in there are very friendly and always so kind.
This tiny place has the best Chinese food in America. Including California. It was so good I had to bring my mother (who is from China), and I have never seen this woman so impressed. Recommend the spicy chicken noodle soup, the mapo tofu noodles, 口水鸡 and scallion pancakes. Portions are pretty big and prices are shockingly low for NYC.
New Dynasty
Ten-Tan
Best fried rice I’ve had in a while in inwood area. The fried shrimp was delicious, they make sure to include enough utensils and condiments. The portions are good too.
Best Chinese food in this neighborhood. The food is always perfectly seasoned and the rice is always cooked to perfection. Also reasonable priced and quick delivery and very polite on phone.

Weng's Palace
Food was OK and pretty cheap considering it’s New York. Closest place to my hotel which made it convenient enough to order and pickup
I really should have read the reviews. I came here on my first night in nyc since it was close to the hotel I was staying. Owner overcharged me by $12 & when I asked why she says their prices just changed. Meanwhile I see someone order the exact same & pay a lot less. Sad the owner takes advantage of travelers. The food also made my tummy hurt. :( Do not go here! Will definitely be letting others know to avoid this place.
Yang's Happy Wok
There’s certain things that you just can’t make up it’s OK to ask for extra barbecue sauce on your spare ribs but when the food gets to you and it’s all oil that’s leaking out because the last time I checked barbecue sauce is thick it’s not water down where it’s leaking all over the side of the bag and the whole plate is full of liquids loose liquids like it’s just oil I need to do better these fast foods are just getting worse and worse and worse and every time I regret that I had to spend my money . They shouldn’t even get that one start but I was only able to leave a comment if I clicked on a star so that’s a negative star and then I call the guys gonna scream at me took them out I asked for extra barbecue sauce. Yeah I did not water damn barbecue sauce. That’s pretty much oil.
The dude very rude when taking my order. My food was done and he waited until someone else’s food was done for me to pay. Then he got my order wrong. I just called to speak to a boss but the same dude who took my order picked up and he hung up on me
Profit Chinese Restaurant II
This place is amazing. I can't stop eating it. My sister thought the fried rice had a strange taste and maybe she was right but their soup and chicken with garlic sauce is the best. The lunch combo isn't worth it, you're better off just getting this dish and soup separately.
100% recommend Profit! I think this is the best lo mein I’ve had in NYC. Definetly a hidden gem. 🥰
