Cha Kee
Everyone that knows Chinatown knows Cha Kee. Delicious Hong Kong style food. The vibes are chill, there's plenty of seating, the staff are super nice and the food comes out super quick. Had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Baron. He is a chills and awesome dude and will make sure your visit went well.
Really wanted some food similar to HK’s cha chan tang and this was the closest I could find. Rice noodle rolls were drenched in sauce, too sweet for my liking. The toast was typical and the milk tea needed more syrup, which we were given to add to our liking. Cream custard baos felt a bit too stiff, but flavorful. However, like other reviews found, service was lacking and the food felt uncompromising.
Sichuan Hot Pot Cuisine
For a Chinese Restaurant in China Town, I was expecting a lot more better. The won ton soup was a bit bland, the skin of the shrimp dumplings ~ Ha Kau was a bit thick. The Shanghai Soup Dumplings was exceptional though. The service was fast and the waiters were very friendly, also the owner came to our table to ensure that everything goes well. The could improve the interior so the the atmosphere gets better.
Sichuan Hot Pot Cuisine in Chinatown, NYC, is a vibrant and flavorful destination for anyone craving authentic Sichuan hot pot. The restaurant offers an immersive dining experience where you get to cook your own meal at the table, making it both interactive and delicious. The menu is packed with a wide variety of fresh ingredients, from thinly sliced meats and seafood to an array of vegetables, mushrooms, and tofu. The highlight here is the broth, with multiple options available, including the signature spicy Sichuan-style broth, which delivers a perfect balance of heat, bold flavors, and fragrant spices. The famous Sichuan peppercorns provide a numbing sensation that perfectly complements the fiery spiciness, making for a truly unique taste experience. For those who prefer something milder, there are also non-spicy broth choices available. Mrs. Fish
My favorite restaurant in Chinatown and I have been to a lot!! The fish broth is consistently high quality at a counter-inflation price. It's a shame that not many tourists have found out about this place and this dish. But they will, like how they have found out about soup dumplings. Let the message cross.
Mrs. Fish is one of our favorite places to eat when visiting NYC. The ambiance is very family friendly and the food is amazing. It is served family style so make sure you have a big appetite or family members with you. It's located on a side street in Chinatown and you can easily miss it but trust me, you'll want to go in and grab a seat. The Jasmine tea tastes better than any other jasmine tea I've had before. All of the good tastes like it is cooked to order and it is reasonably priced for the servings you get.
China King
Great food! There was a bit of a wait but 100% worth it! We got sesame chicken, lo mien, and Singapore chow fun. All of them were delicious. Or favorite was the sesame chicken. I will definitely be back for more soon!
The food is mad good, always hot everytime I get it delivered, very very consistent, I order almost the same thing everytime and it tastes exactly the same. Great portion sizes, I’ve had to call to edit my order a couple times after ordering online and whoever I spoke to on the phone was always really kind and willing to help.
Shun Lee West
This restaurant, established in 1965, was recommended by a friend, so we decided to visit together. My friend shared fond childhood memories of dining here with their parents. It's a traditional dim sum restaurant, and each dish feels quite classic. On the positive side, it’s authentic; on the downside, it might feel a bit too old-fashioned. Still, it's nice to see a place preserving such a legacy.
Fascinating place. Let me set the scene. My partner, on his way back from the restroom was thanked for his service and the good meal as well-meaning white patrons exited to their operas and orchestras. Simply because he was Asian. Be wary of the friend who suggests such a place. Tawdry is the quintessential word to describe the decor. And the food is middling. I don’t remember a single dish two days later. Minimal taste and flavor. And the prices. Yikes! You can get Michelin meals on a similar budget.
Happy Joy
Favorite neighborhood Chinese. Generous portions, reasonably priced. Love the all day specials.
No frills, hole in the wall, dirty-looking, just what you want to see because you know the food will be good, and for less than $10 in Hell’s Kitchen!
Wok City
I ordered chicken lo mein and general too chicken. The food is undercooked. I call and let them know well done, I should have said burnt so it would be cooked properly. I came a long distance to have Rankey chicken juice lo mein and raw pink general tomatoes chicken. With little to none rice. This is unacceptable, and not right to spend hard working money for bad food service.
Pretty busy for when I came in at almost 2pm. Lots of staff and was able to order and then receive my food within 10 minutes of waiting for takeout. They have a couple of chairs with a small countertop to wait for your order or you can call in early then come to pick the food up when it's ready. I ordered the beef w broccoli lunch special for 9.50$ for the price the portion sizing seems appropriate and the food was pretty good though I wish they had added a bit more sauce (the sauce is so yummy 😋). I will definitely come back to this place in the future!
Empire Szechuan
Very fresh food! About 6 different 13.00 dollar meals available , for budgets. The Beef tomato was very tasty , and the chicken cashew also very good .
I am shocked at how low the ratings are here. I get that the restaurant looks very casual and feels a little bit like a hole in the wall, however, the food is service is great. They have a TON of veggies options. Each food item was clearly made very fresh and came out as quickly as possible . It was also piping hot which I love. Food: We got the scallion pancakes and they were really good. The sauce that it came with was perfect. The vegetable tempura was good, but if the veggies has been cut smaller it would have better. The tempura sauce was also really yummy. For entrees my husband got noddles and he loved them, said they were flavored exactly the way he would expect them to be. I got a tofu/mushroom mix and has asked them to make it spicy. It was on point and well flavored. Service: Service was quick. We had water immediately and our drinks came out fast too. They checked in on us often as well and the restaurant was fairly crowded as it was late at night and one of the few spots open in the area. Insta: @TheShahLALand
Dragon Town
Received bag filled with grease and chicken wings weren't extra crispy like I asked and egg roll filled of grease.
I asked for delivery lunch special didn't send the soup which said came if I didn't take soda. I called and they said I didn't order lunch which I did and paid 11.00 in total which included top and cost of food. Good tasted dry. Never got the soup. Saying It wasn't a lunch when I called at 1:27 ( have receipt )!! Person confused and I never got soup and paid 11.00 and I'm a senior. Take advantage of people,!!!
Xing Dragon
Ordered food roach came running out of bag As well as free soda they just gave Diet Coke as well.It had a dead mosquito On top of ken I would not recommend This place to anyone
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ❤️ YOUR FOOD. We ordered on Uber Eats this evening because every other Chinese Restaurant in our area was closed due to it being Thanksgiving. I called this establishment prior to ordering on Uber Eats and I spoke with Andy. Andy is absolutely amazing, very friendly, very kind and extremely willing to help his customers. Thank you Andy. I would love to say that your cooks know how to cook. Thank you so much.
Teng Dragon
Excellent Service at Teng Dragon A Major Improvement! I started coming to Teng Dragon after having a bad experience with the restaurant across the street, Good Taste. The delivery person there was always angry and seemed to make his job harder by using a regular bike instead of an e-bike. He would take out his frustration on customers who didn’t come down immediately when he called, yet when he was late, it was never an issue. His behavior made me wonder about his home life, as he seemed to carry his anger beyond just work. I understand that Chinese culture values discipline and hard work, but his attitude went beyond strictness—it felt personal. At times, I even got the sense that he was jealous of me simply for being friendly with his wife and engaging in conversation while learning the language. When he tried to argue and justify his poor work ethic, especially in handling deliveries, I knew it was time for a change. That’s when I switched to Teng Dragon, and the difference has been night and day. Here, I’m treated fairly, the service is reliable, and the staff is always professional. I highly recommend Teng Dragon over Good Taste for anyone looking for great food and respectful service! Why This Matters: A Powerful Example Imagine this: You’ve had a long day at work, and all you want is a hot meal delivered to your door. You place an order, expecting a smooth experience, but instead, the delivery person arrives in a foul mood. He aggressively calls you to come downstairs immediately, and when you take a minute longer than he likes, he lashes out, complaining as if you’ve done something wrong. Now, flip the scenario. Suppose the roles are reversed he’s late with your food. But when you express frustration, he shrugs it off, showing zero accountability. This imbalance in treatment isn’t just unprofessional it’s a red flag. It reflects a deeper issue: a lack of respect for customers and an inability to handle the pressures of the job properly now imagine us doing that in his country wouldn’t go well obviously. In contrast, when you switch to a restaurant like Teng Dragon, the experience is entirely different. The staff treats you with respect, values your time, and ensures your order arrives promptly and professionally. You don’t have to deal with hostility or one-sided expectations. Instead, you get what you paid for good food and good service. This scenario highlights why choosing where you spend your money matters. Supporting businesses that value their customers creates a better experience for everyone, while refusing to tolerate poor service holds businesses accountable. Respect should always go both ways, and no one should have to deal with unnecessary hostility when all they want is a meal we all have bad days we can’t take it out on eachother.
Super pork fried 🤤 rice. Loved it. Enormous portion. Mouth watering. They gave me discount on drinks. Very unlikely in Manhattan.Very friendly. If you love to have good taste Chinese takeout in Manhattan. Try their menu. You won't be disappointed.
