Island Buffet Hibachi Grill

1529reviews

A place that worth the price. Island buffet came to my list when I Was looking for buffet nearby for Friday dinner. It was not that crowd for Friday. Food it moderate but worth the price! Recommended.

If your looking to fill up on the cheap and want to spend under twenty dollars, you've come to the right place. This is a very large Chinese buffet with lots to choose from. We went for the dinner buffet which was still transitioning after a late lunch. This place was pretty full for a Saturday. I didn't see as many hot buffet items come out during that transition for dinner, but when they did come out is was hot and it was clearly marked for dinner only diners. Need to try to come around 5 or 6 pm when dinner service is in full swing. Otherwise, the taste of the food was great overall. You also get the option for your food to be cooked hot off the press by their chef on a hibachi grill.

Jasmine house

Delicious dine in and take out little cheap place

I went to visit my brother and mom, and we decided to try this place for the first time, we had take out, the food was very good but the shrimp in the entrées were small. We expected the shrimp to be larger especially for an entrée. I would recommend changing the entrée dishes to larger shrimps, and the portions were generous. I would go back and try other dishes.

Hasini Shel Broadway

Delicious food! I ordered chicken wings and house special lo mein. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Little bit overpriced compared to what I usually pay however it was worth it, I will be returning. Love it!

Very fast service and delicious food. A bit spicier than typical Kosher Chinese food, but I really like red pepper and they use a goodly amount. Definitely a primarily takeout place, but they do have a few tables and we had a very nice little lunch. Prices are quite reasonable for what you get. Decent sized portions. Definitely recommend the Szechuan wontons.

DJ's International Buffet

Food is good and clean!! I've been here since covid happened and they business getting better. Some business they cut down the quality to make it survive. Thumbs up to them who do the business not only for owners pocket but also for custimer satisfation. Its win win!!

We came to DJ’s International Buffet with a party of 11 around 5 PM for dinner. It was pretty crowded, but we were seated right away, which was great. The restaurant offers a great variety of food, including many fresh options like salmon, tuna, squid, and red clam sashimi, along with different types of hand rolls. Everything was fresh and tasty. Right next to the sushi bar, there’s a seafood section and fresh-cut roasted beef, which were both excellent. I also enjoyed the udon noodle soup and crepe station. For the hot bar, my favorites were the steamed fish, crispy spicy fish, scallops with enoki mushrooms, and the must-try duck soup—it was definitely a standout! On the other hand, the clam chowder was a big letdown; it was very watery and flavorless, which was disappointing. There’s also a chocolate fountain, an ice cream machine, and a variety of cakes for dessert, which was a nice touch. Overall, there’s a lot to choose from, the sushi is fresh, and most of the food is pretty good. Just the clam chowder was a miss for me. Still, I’d recommend this place for a good buffet experience.

Hunan Dynasty

Hunan Dynasty offers excellent service food was delicious and food is served quickly. Dining in comes with a teapot, making for a cozy experience. All of this is provided at a great price, making it a top choice for a meal. Best Chinese Restaurant at Nassau County.

They gave me chicken in place of shrimp and discounted next time.a few weeks later they missed a spring roll and said they would replace it next time. This order he started yelling at me that there's always a problem will not take orders ever from me.that was the 2nd time during a 2 year time spam.1 a week.he was extremely rude to me.

MÓGŪ Modern Chinese Kitchen

I ordered food for my child for picked up, when I opened bag was only 1 napkin and no more what was used already , I think they did that cause I didn’t pay tip. Also food was more spicy than what I ordered. I’m concer more about napkin that very dangerous . They look like if you don’t pay tip they can do everything on your food . Be careful.

These guys are knocking it straight out of the park! So happy they opened a location closer to me. Ryan who was managing the Mogu in farmingdale is here along with his cousin John and staff, they are just incredible leaders and very accommodating. They need a Ryan everywhere truly a great guy. Mike the owner has created a terrific menu All of your Chinese food favorites without the bloat, headaches or hunger 1 hour later lol I’m in love with the concept. I visited today and the consistency is here in the food, atmosphere, exceptional service(I must say it’s better service than a fine dining/steakhouse, and I am serious!) we were asked several times if everything was ok. It’s cafeteria style but they bring the order to your table and check on you continuously. I love the emperors general TSo’s not spicy~crispy air fried no grease all white meat and the sauce is sooo good, egg drop soup, the not so fried rice, egg rolls, wonton soup..the ribs yummy they taste like real ribs tender and not just a bone basted with pink artificial flavoring and coloring you get at these old take out places. I highly recommend them. My prediction is Mogu in Woodbury will be a hit that keeps on hitting. Congratulations Everyone! See you soon🎉🥠

Yummy Chinese Restaurant

66reviews

The foods here are quite authentic and classic Sichuan dishes, elaborate and clean. Decorations are modern. This restaurant just became another reason I like our beautiful Great Neck.

Have ordered from this location more than 30 years, original owners were wonderful as well as the food. Then a horrible & rude man,now a sweet female but Food very under par....shrimps not cleaned properly, very scant portions, tasteless. Paying for very substandard food.... Get with the program Yummy? Absolutely not.

DunHuang Syosset

We got the signature with sliced beef and the braided beef noodle soup, Xiao long bak, and spicy wontons and the lamb pocket (forgot the actual name). The spicy wontons were ok, not the best, but not bad either. Mainly, I didn't like the watery soupy base as opposed to a strong, spicy thicker base. The Xiao long bao was bad. Don't get of you're a connoisseur. Mainly, the wrap was very thick which ruins it for me. Also they don't automatically give you ginger/vinegar sauce. The beef noodle soup was overall ok. I got thick noodles with he braised beef. The beef was mediocre, not tender with melting tendon. My broth was good, and the thick noodles were excellent. Oh and the bok Choi was cold and hard, didn't appear to be cooked with he soup at all. My wife's signature on the other hand... She didn't like much. She reported the noodles were cold, and the broth was not as flavorful as mine. We didn't like the lamb pocket (whatever it's called). Honestly, it tastes more like Mexican seasoning and felt like it was eating a taco. No that that's necessarily a bad thing, but not what we were expecting or hoped for there. Lol Overall, the place was on, but not the same as say flushing.

DunHuang is a restaurant for Chinese noodles. We came on a holiday Monday for lunch. Seating is a bit cramped because the dining area of the restaurant is small, they can fit maybe 5 parties total. I think this place can improve the decor, there wasn't a whole lot to look at inside. I ordered the zha jiang noodles, which is chewy noodles in a meaty brown sauce. No complaints, it was good! I thought the portion was appropriate and the price was also fine. It was a little unusual that water was not provided to each table. I wasn't parched necessarily, but it would have been nice if we had some glasses of water.

Mim's Restaurant

Came here for a late lunch. We had chili shrimp, wings, truffle fries, chicken parm, roast chicken and a brownie dessert. We were starving!Everything was great. Our server Debbie was wonderful. I have to mention the bread basket was delicious, we asked for seconds. It was a pleasant experience and would definitely come again!

It was a great place for one of my favorite dishes. Chicken Parmigiana on a bed of pasti. Tender and cheesy. It was quiet when I went but it is a very lovely ambience. Servers were professional. Will be back.

Chinese Sauerkraut Fish - Nai Brother

51reviews

Affordable pickled fish is a great choice. I often come here for lunch when I go to school in Nassau. The dumplings are also very delicious; I recommend trying them.

Very delicious Chinese fish dishes. Decent prices. Small about 13 and large around 23. Comes with rice and a can of soda. The mala spicy fish is spicy even mild! A tad salty but still very good compared to other places located in flushing. Perfect for lunch meal.

Shanghai You Garden 上海豫園

No idea why the rate is so low. Sometime they are just busy, maybe too busy, which means everyone loves the foods and willing to wait. Anyway, I had good time every time dining here. Delicious and will come back again and again.

I have been excitedly waiting for this location to open. It was well worth the wait. The soup dumplings are so soupy and good. The noodles were perfect. The free peking duck bun was delicious. I love that they are in the 99 Ranch Market food court, so there's tons of parking, and places to sit and eat. They only do take out, so don't expect table service. There is a small surcharge for using a credit card, but they take venmo and zelle.

Amazing Wok

Sorry to say that this is Not so Amazing experience. Went for lunch and asked if they would have a chicken wing combo. The woman was a bit rude while answering questions. She was speaking to quick for me to understand, so the man took my order. He asked if I wanted a drink and I said no. But after seeing that I paid $9.75 for 4 chicken wings and pork fried rice I asked if a drink was included and she replied in harsh way that it wasn’t a combo. Okay I have my own water in my work truck. The wings were very good. When I scooped up some fried rice it was dry and the pork pieces were scattered on top. It seemed more of a Spanish rice, not a Chinese rice. I don’t think that they would be recommended for a Fave award.

I love the chicken noodle soup at this place. And because I ask for it without chicken as I am a vegetarian, the woman at the register gives me a discounted price. I appreciate her honesty and friendly demeanor.
