New China Wok

Friendly staff and very helpful. Food was prepared super fast and was quite tasty. Portion size was very generous and there is seating for a few in the front if you want to eat in, but very drafty.

I’ve been ordering here for nearly a decade. This is the best Chinese food in Gowanus. I empathize with others with 1 star services because for me this place had kept their quality consistently for years on end. I genuinely get shocked when there’s one stars but everyone’s experience is different.

Hunan Delight

Stopped here after a friend's recommendation. We had just enough time to eat, then get to our flight. This place was superb. I got the fried pork dumplings to start, and they were phenomenal. I kept it safe, so I got the sesame chicken & fried rice. It was really good though. Service was good, but we were the only ones in the restaurant. If you need a solid Chinese place in Park Slope, definitely add this place on your list.

This Brooklyn Chinese food spot is worth every penny. While prices may be higher than usual, the quality and taste are exceptional. The ambiance when you walk in is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing meal.

a top choice for chinese in bushwick. crazy thing to say but the chicken wings were the best part of my meal. perfectly crispy and juicy. you cannot go wrong with the general tsos chicken. great prices and great food. my go to spot

Best Chinese food in the neighborhood. Purposely skip past 3 others that are closer to me for this spot. Excellent customer service as well.

Kum Kau

Kum Kau was our go-to for great Chinese food when at Pratt Institute. I know it's changed owners and location on Myrtle Avenue a few times, but was pleased to see my favorite appetizer, roast pork bun, is still on the menu. They're still big and incredibly tasty.. but there wasn't as much meat in them as back in the day (late '90s). Got 3 buns for $9. The current location is much smaller. It was busy so I guess the rest of the menu is still good, too. No seating inside or outside to eat, but has a long bench inside for people waiting for orders. Has a health department inspection sign with an A rating in the front window. Just disappointed that in 2024, I still had to pay with cash (they have a small ATM inside).

Food to me was much better 10 plus years ago just bought today 11/9/24 my opinion not much flavor

Taste of China Brooklyn

i was honestly not expecting much but after trying the curry chicken im blown away. excited to try their boneless spare ribs next and more. i wish a fortune cookie was included in the meal but they’re only $1!

Ordered online for delivery; they were out of an item and promptly called me, generously offering a better substitute. Food arrived very well packaged (no leaks of food or sauce, napkin added to bag of crab puffs to keep them from getting soggy), piping hot, and the delivery person was polite and friendly, making sure to call me upon arrival (I was at a hotel). Portions were extremely generous (plenty of leftovers), delicious, and the prices were incredibly reasonable. My only regret was not ordering from here until the last day of my trip - if I'm ever in this area again, I'll definitely order again!

Xifu Food

Good food and portions at excellent prices. We really liked the meat sauce noodles and pork rougamo. We ate inside, and after a few minutes, we started to understand why this is a takeout spot.

Total hole in the wall but the food was top notch! Lots of carryout while I was dining in. Chicken and cabbage dumplings in sweet and spicy sauce was absolutely amazing!! And the food is so cheap, def not something I'd expect in Brooklyn!

Asian Yummy House

They have very yummy Chinese food as the name of the restaurant suggest.. I really enjoy ordering from their wide selection menu. And happy that they are inexpensive, fast and friendly. All in all very tasty. Prices were good and I got a free soda.

Unassuming exterior but fantastic food. I loved the broccoli and vegetable soup. Put the vegetables from the soup on the broccoli and rice. the service was great, too. This will be a go-to from now on.

Shan

We went here for dinner. It was very busy, so we sat at the bar. The layout is a typical NYC street restaurant. The food was awesome, as well as the services. We truly enjoyed our dining experience there. The waiters and waitresses seem all in their 20s, very enthusiastic on what they do and very friendly, always with a smile! The dishes are more on the Sichuan style but they all spoke Cantonese and Mandarin. They are a creative set of drinks, a bit pricy but perhaps normal in NYC. We ordered a shrimp dish and the waiter considerately asked us if we prefer to peel the shrimp shells off before cook them. We really appreciate it. The spicy chicken was also really good. Highly recommended!

Shan was a very cute and quaint restaurant. The moment we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted with a mouthwatering fragrance of Chinese food. The staff were very nice and welcoming! The level of service here was top-notch, we didn’t even have to ask the staff to refill our water - the moment our water was running low, the staff came and replaced the water jug! The soup dumplings were soo good! The dumpling wrappers were handmade and thin, showcasing the expertise of their chefs in the back. The soup and the filling were so flavorful that I did not need much vinegar at all! The spicy cumin lamb was quite spicy - a little too spicy for my tastebuds, but it smelled incredible! If you have a low spice tolerance, I would avoid this dish or ask for less spice. The stringbeans were so delicious! We demolished the plate of stringbeans. It was so flavorful and full of umami! The taste was so addicting and we couldn’t help ourselves from eating more and more! The beef noodle soup was really tender and warms you right up, with just the right amount of spice. The desserts were so delicious as well! I personally loved the ice lychee jelly! It was not too sweet and the foam on top reminded me of a very light icecream! The rice cakes were yummy as well - but they tend to stick to your teeth, so just a word of caution there! Overall, the experience here was great! It would be a cute spot to bring someone on a date!

HORRIBLE!!!!! DO NOT EAT THERE SPOILED BROCCOLI. SEE PHOTOS! The first time I ordered was great. However, today I went and ordered sauteed broccoli, only to receive a platter of SPOILED BROCCOLI. The ARROGANCE AND EGO that takes place is atrocious. If your paying customer is showing that the food is on the border if being spoiled you don't argue or get offended. You simply accommodate your customers, because without us, you HAVE NO BUSINESS. After I returned to show them that broccoli is NOT SUPPOSE TO BE YELLOW, the young lady at the front tells me "broccoli turns yellow when you cook it." As if I lack intelligence, where in NATURE does broccoli grow yellow. So they remake the order, the chef had an attitude, AS USUAL, instead of accountability. And He still messes up the meal, the sauce is 90% OIL and u see a dab of brown sauce. DISGUSTING, WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. THEY ALSO ARE OVER PRICED WINGS, THAT LLOK LIKE CORNISH HENS, THATS HOW SMALL THEY ARE. As a BKLYN NATIVE, this was the WORST EXPERIENCE from a Chinese restaurant in Bklyn. NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN!!

I just got wings and brocolli with white rice from here and it was okay. The brocolli and rice was really good but the wings smelled like chicken. Idk if you know what i mean but it smelled a little raw even though it was cooked. I tried to ignore it as i ate a whole one but once as i was biting it i kept smelling it I had to stop eating it. Also when I pulled it apart the meat looked a little stretchy idk. This kind of turned me off from Chinese food for a while I’m sorry. Very nice people though.

Exactly what you want in a Chinese takeout place. Fast, no frills, great prices, tasty food. They are cash only so be prepared for that.

Best chinese place around. Great value for money and the staff are nice.

Raw chicken I asked well done. Price was super high. Delivery guy demanded more tip the lady over the phone screamed at me fir no reason.

For years my family has been buying from this restaurant, but today they gave terrible service. My brother was sent to get an order of chicken wings and fries. What he got was one wing and a few fries. He gave them 7 dollars and got back 2 dollars as change. I went back with him about 1-2mins later after realizing the order wrong. After telling the lady the order was wrong she accused us of eating the food bc there was so little in it. I asked how much she took for the amount of food she gave him, she said 4 dollars. I told her that’s not what he asked for and she claimed that there was more food in the container when she gave him. I asked for a refund bc that’s not what was ordered and she was accusing him of eating three chicken wigs and fries in the short spans of time he left. She also tried to charge extra for the food that was missing in the first place. I feel that we should have gotten our money back, she was given $7 and I was given $2 as change for one wing and at least a hand full of fries. Myself and my family do not intend on ordering from there business again.
