Kahula
First time dining here. There was a loud group walking in (to the bar) when we arrived. They probably didn't need another drink. Thankfully, the bar is through a separate door from the dining room, but we could still hear them. The place in general is well outdated (not unusual for many Chinese restaurants, sadly. There weren't many other people dining. Our server was cordial and very efficient, but she didn't seem to be happy to work there. The food was typical, middle of the road Chinese food. Prices were reasonable which helped. Probably better for takeout rather than dining in.
Kahula restaurant has been consistently delivering stellar Chinese food since I was born. I grew up eating there and loved it every single time. It’s such a treat. I can’t imagine how there could be mediocre ratings. It’s always been amazing. Thank you, kahula.
Empire Village
Our takeout order was hot, fresh, and delicious. Generals chicken with white rice and an egg roll and Generals chicken with brown rice and an egg roll.
I placed my order over phone when I got there the lady told me I never spoke to her. She lied directly to my face because I remembered her voice. I then placed my order at the counter and waited. Food came back and smelt burnt and tasted burnt. How do you mess up rice at a chinese place? you get what you pay for here
Yangs Kitchen Express
Great portions and delicious flavors. I ordered a variety of dishes including shrimp, beef, vegetables and rice. I also ordered beef skewers, egg drop soup and chicken with rice soup. Everything was great. I’m more used to the brown fried rice but this style is also good.
Food is DELISH Worker was very nice Food was ready within 10 minutes, included sweet + sour chicken, beef lo mein, and rice! Portions are a little small for the price but in this economy that’s totally understandable…food still bomb tho!
Main Moon Chinese Food
Worst chinese food I've ever had!!! This was the only chinese spot around so we had no choice. First, they charged us for a combo that we said we no longer wanted, which wouldn't have been an issue if the food was actually good. Next, all of the food was bland and dry. The general tso's and orange chicken was dry, very thin sauce, had no breading so it wasn't crispy and had absolutely no seasoning. We asked for extra sauce on the lo mein because we saw the pictures of it online, and it was still as white as me. We added mad soy sauce packets and it was still just bland noodles. We also tried their crab rangoons and they tasted old, like day old, as if they've been sitting out and reheated for our order. They also had a sweet and sour sauce, the one the use for the chicken, instead of a sweet chili sauce like most places downstate have. Staff was nice but it was such a terrible experience and a waste of money. Will not be going back and do not reccommend to others!
Be aware !! Terrible !! The owner which is the man is always rude & yells at people, They never get the order done correctly, overall rude staff and menu prices are different, found bugs and worms in my Vegetable soup, over charging Mushy rice, Thin sauce unflavored non Authentic Chinese food, DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY !! It’s despicable I’m afraid of how the kitchen even Looks and how they keep it. My goodness Please look at my other review from KIM WEI in NYC !! HUGE Difference !! They are so disrespectful with your food, it’s not worth it. Old food!! Kitchen is not sanitized !!
Leong Chinese Restaurant
They shut down the dining in and have carryout only. Almond boneless chicken was good, shrimp rings were great. Only gave them a 4 star rating due to the pork fried rice, wasn't much than just brown rice with a couple tiny pieces of pork . Wonton was also good. I ordered 5 dinners and 2 quarts of soup. They had it ready in 15 minutes and the order wasn't missing anything, prices were also reasonable.
Food was disgusting. Unedible. Hard, dry, no flavor. I was honestly afraid to eat it. Don’t recommend. Don’t waste your money. They wouldn’t refund us either and we just threw it in the garbage. Yuck.
New China
Been ordering for years and will continue to do so ! I always eat their food too fast to take pics ! General Tso Chicken is my favorite here
Do not get the boneless spare ribs. They burn them till they’re black and dry. I’ve ordered from here multiple times and everytime the food was charred black and all dry. Peking house is much better!
Phoenix Chinese
New to the area and felt like Chinese on my way home. I've seen this place several times driving through town. I had poor cell service until I was there and already ordered. The lady was extremely nice and attentive. I ordered a General Tso's combination with pork fried rice and vegetable noodles and egg roll. Had I read the reviews I would have passed on the pork fried rice and subbed the noodles. The General Tso's was really good. Lo mein really good. Egg roll had a funny taste I don't really know how to describe. The rice is like others described bland, flavorless, meh. Will I eat here again, possibly but will pass on the rice and egg roll. :)
Great for takeout! Fast, friendly, yummy! Definitely give their steamed dumplings and szechuan dumplings a try! The szechuan dumplings are covered in a delicious peanut sauce! Great local place to support ♡
China 3
The food here is as good as it gets. My favorite is the boneless ribs with fried rice as the meat is moist and full of flavor. Chicken with mixed vegetables is my wife's favorite as she enjoys the nice balance of slices of tender chicken, fresh vegetables and rice. There are restaurants nearby me in Lancaster but none are as good as this place. Our drive is typically 25 minutes and we don't mind it since we know we're getting quality food and service.
Our usual go to Chinese take out whenever we are in the area. Food is alway fresh and yummy. My favorite is the orange chicken. Flavor is always consistent and never disappointed.
Woh Lun Chinese Food
Food was ok it's the other things that took away from rating. Stores hours are inconsistent and two the seating area/waiting area is gloomy, dark, and you get the impression that you're just a number no interaction. The waiting area/dining area is about 25 degrees
Worst place ever. I walk in food is sitting out on the table. Where is the board of health? They said 25 min I was there in 15 it was ready. My crab rangoons, ice cold. Same with the chicken fingers they didn't make them fresh it is clear as day they didn't even drop the Rangoon in the frier. How hard is it to fry it fresh????? Don't say 25 min and have it done in 10. Make it fresh and tell me 45 I don't care. Beef teriyaki terrible Rangoon's terrible. There's a reason why the other place on depot at was 2 hour wait. Never again.
Way Ho Restaurant
I recently had the misfortune of ordering from Way Ho , and it was an absolute disaster. The chicken was practically inedible, with a texture that was beyond unappetizing and zero flavor to speak of. To make matters worse, the meal was outrageously overpriced for the poor quality I received. I felt completely ripped off and will never make the mistake of ordering from here again. Save your money and go somewhere else!
Food was absolutely terrible. Wasn’t even edible. The meat tasted expired, the mustard definitely was. The food tasted like a sweaty gym sock. The orange chicken was cold, overcooked, hard, and slimy. I’ve always driven by here and will continue to do so.
Mei's
I ordered delivery. The man that delivered was nice/friendly. I ordered 2 x beef lo mein, 2 x beef teriyaki and 3 x chicken fingers, so not a cheap order. I threw away both bags of beef teriyaki because it was chewy/gnarly with sort of a thin mushy coating and a strange flavor that did not taste like anything “teriyaki” that I’ve had before. My son took a bite and spit it out. The beef lo mein had the same chewy coated issue with the beef, so skipping the beef when I eat this. It’s worth noting if you’re not into onions that there were a TON of onions, like one had a partially chopped quarter of an onion. I am a picky eater so I sort my food and remove the things I don’t want to eat. I don’t know if they ran out of beef lo mein or if this is normal, but they put noodles in the container and then topped it off with the onions and beef, so it was actually easier to sort through. The noodles themselves are pretty good. The chicken fingers were pretty good also. First pic has the onions and beef from the first order of lo mein I sorted. Then pics showing you what I mean about noodles on the bottom. Final pic with all of the onions/beef from the 2 orders, 2nd order with the big onion kn the plate and the 1st order in the plastic bag. I don’t have pictures of the teriyaki but just imagine the beef from the lo mein but longer and on a stick.
**DO NOT COME HERE!** I live very close to Mei’s and decided to try it for the first time today. I opted to order online and pickup in the restaurant as the last time I tried to walk in and dine in, nobody greeted me and I stood there with no person in sight. Tonight I ordered one beef chow mein and one chicken chow mein as well as the steamed buns. When I opened the bag after pickup, I saw what looked to be a cabbage soup with beef and a cabbage soup with chicken. Clearly this is the wrong order so I walked back to Mei’s and the gentleman who gave me my carry out order said, ‘’what’s wrong?’’ I told him I ordered chow mein and this is soup. He proceeded to argue with me that this is Chinese chow mein. I attached the screen shot of what I ordered and the google image that comes up when you search it. After going back and forth for a few minutes and clearly seeing that he was not going to fix my order, I said I wanted a refund. He said no, as he did not make a mistake. He said you may be used to chow mein from Chicago but this is authentic Chinese chow mein?!? I repeated myself multiple times that i would like a refund and he told me TO CALL THE POLICE?!? He simply refused to refund the $31 for the order and told me to call the police. I have never in my life had such an experience like this. Would you eat this if you ordered chow mein????
Canton Pearl
Always welcoming. Our dinner was terrific. That review was 6 months ago. My family just enjoyed our dinner last night as well, 1/29/25. Fresh vegetables, light sauces, all great. This family works so hard, I've never had an unpleasant meal here.
Have not been to this restaurant in 20. I understand that has new owners I ordered the house fried rice. I love house fried rice it's mostly what I order when I go out to eat. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give this house fried rice a 4. Now the broccoli and beef scale of 1 to 10 I give that a nine. I will go there again. The flavor of the crab rangoon I will give an eight but the crust itself a 4.
