Ristorante Maietta
Called in at 7:53 for pickup on a Sunday. Counter guy screwed this 1st time experience up. Didnt pay attention to order, 3 orders ready in 15 min? Inaccurate, small portioned entrées, They left right behind me after pickup?.? Called 8:25; left vm. 75$ order 1 app 2 entrees; I messed up not getting a detailed reciept. We'll see if a manager calls me back.
I have been going to Maietta’s for 20yrs. This is consistent, authentic Italian food. Pizza is excellent, relaxed atmosphere, clean bathrooms. This is a great place to eat. It’s always been owned and operated by the same family. They are invested in the restaurant, the town and making great food. Don’t believe me? Come in and find out.
Attilio's Pizzeria
Where to start… the price did not match the quality of the pies and food in general… the sauce was watery and had no flavor, the distribution of toppings and cheese on my pies was as if the cook did not care enough to be there. If I knew I was going to spend 90+ plus dollars to throw it all away and have my family be unhappy I should have just bought frozen pizzas instead at least then I would have known what I’m getting from the beginning. Do not recommend … save your money .. go to McDonald’s instead
Owner is so friendly nice and welcoming. I go here every Sunday after dog training class at petco with my puppy. Best white slice I’ve ever had! My son favorite is the chicken roll it’s amazing! I highly recommend
Tommys Tavern + Tap
Always pass by thinking the wait would be way too long. Parking lot is always full. Decided to give it a shot. Only waited 15 min. First off let me say our server, Anthony, was the best! So personable, friendly and funny. Thank you Anthony. We started with the chicken nachos. They were pretty good. Little dry, could use some salsa. I would order again Tavern Taquitos. Did not like these at all. The sauce drizzled on top had such an odd flavor. Also the texture of the chicken when you bite into was weird. Definitely would not order again. We had the Mr. B's favorite pizza. That was amazing. We also ordered the LA Sliders. Those were also good. Id be back just for that pizza.
i want to preface this review by saying 1. if it wasn’t for the number of great/good experiences i’ve had here, this review would be a 1 star and 2. i try really really hard to give places the benefit of the doubt since i worked in restaurants. tonight i ordered a dessert to go. after waiting a really long time our very very sweet waitress came up and told us there was a problem and she was sorry about the wait. we told her no problem and tried to be very nice. it’s not her fault. then we were waiting a while again (this whole thing spans over at least 40 minutes). finally a manger comes over and apologizes saying you can’t get desserts to go and the waitress didn’t know but they were figuring it out. again we said no problem tried to be so nice. now we wait twenty minutes neither the manager or our waitress walks by so we can’t even cancel the order which was all we wanted to do at this point. we continue to wait finally someone else comes over and leaves a bag on the table and just says here have a good one and walks away…. we look in the bag… it is a single scoop of ice cream and a little thing of apple crisp. not sure why that couldn’t be taken out or why it took so long. it was kinda crazy it took so long and they didn’t even bring us water while we waited. definitely left a bad taste in our mouths especially bc at this point we already paid the full bill which included this impossible dessert.
Howell Kitchen
This has become my favorite local Chinese restaurant. They have the best General Tso's chicken! I order it with white meat. It's juicy and tender inside and crunchy and saucy outside. SO GOOD! I also love their fried rice and wonton soup.
Wow. If you need a Chinese spot this is it. Been in howell for 4 years mad we didn’t try this before. Definitely our new spot. Everything was great. Nothing over done and great portions.
Court Jester Restaurant
The wings were awesome! Crispy enough sauce evenly coated with a hint of sweetness. Little pricey for 8 wings ($13.39), but it's definitely good! Definitely will be back.
The menu says that the wings are the BEST in New Jersey... what I will say is that they're definitely in the conversation. Had a great time here with a friend last night and absolutely will be coming back. Large beer list. They also did a grade A job with the nachos by giving us a bowl of beef to put on each individual chip rather than them all getting soggy. They clearly know what they're doing here. I highly recommend this place.
The Cheesecake Factory
The food was very tasty. Service was above average and our server was very attentive. They have a lot to choose from on the menu. I would definitely go back to try other items... and of course you gotta have Cheese Cake!!!
Came for my daughters birthday. 1st time for all of us. Great menu selection even with lighter fare choices. Service was very attentive. Overall place has a high hustle-n-bustle vibe that gets very loud at times. Try the lemon shrimp with angel hair pasta. Or the spaghetti with meatballs.
China Moon
China Moon is a hidden gem in Howell. Maybe it isn’t so hidden since the place was packed for take out orders. The general tso’s chicken was crunchy and not overally spicy. The pork fried rice was also solid. The food overall was good. This may be my go to spot in the area.
My family has been ordering from China Moon for years. The family that owns it is friendly and always remembers their long-time customers. For instance, I began eating their food prior to the many food allergies I have developed in the last 12 years. During the time of developing all of them, I wondered if I could safely eat Chinese food ever again from their establishment or any others locally and they were the only one willing to accommodate my dietary needs. They are very caring. They have told me to bring my bottle of coconut aminos so they can cook my specific food in it or they use their white sauce, which is fantastic. There has been some human error over the years of ordering from China Moon like receiving one wrong item simply because of them being so busy and accidentally placing the wrong container into my family's order bag as opposed to where it should have gone. They have always been quick to rectify any issues in my experience though. As long as you respectfully communicate with them, they return that respect and fix the issue at hand. China Moon is a terrific family-owned Chinese restaurant with great food and fair pricing.
Fred and Murry's Kosher Delicatessen
Fred and Murry's Kosher Deli delivers an exceptional dining experience, blending quality food, attentive service, and a warm atmosphere. We visited on a Thursday evening at 6:00 PM, and though the restaurant was not overly crowded (about 30% full), the service was prompt and efficient. The waitstaff quickly took our orders, and the food arrived promptly, fresh, and hot. I opted for the Sloppy Joe, which was generously stacked and packed with flavor. The rye bread was perfectly fresh, complementing the quality of the meat. However, the standout of the evening was the side order of French fries we shared at the table. These weren’t your typical string fries—they were cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, making them a delightful surprise. Fred and Murry's also offers classic Dr. Brown's sodas, and as a fan of the brand, I especially enjoyed the Black Cherry. In terms of affordability, this deli is reasonably priced, especially compared to other kosher delis I’ve visited in the past year. Discovering Fred and Murry's while getting my car serviced at Ray Catena was a fortunate find. For anyone who enjoys top-notch deli sandwiches, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended for its great food, affordability, and overall dining experience.
The food was actually really really bad. I went for lunch while at work and this was terrible. I got a brisket sandwich and my work partner got a fried chicken sandwich. The brisket was dry and tasted like it was warmed up from yesterday. The rye bread with the sandwich was definitely old and stale because the bottom of the crust was crunchy. The fries need some kind of seasoning. The gravy for the brisket was okay. I don’t even need to say anything about the chicken sandwich just look at the picture of how it was assembled. He said the bread tasted stale too. I will return only for the pickles, they are pretty good. The food was not worth the price. I couldn’t finish the Brisket so I got McDonald’s after.
Kam Po Garden
I’ve been waiting to give Kam Po Garden a review, and tonight’s experience confirmed it—this place is absolutely 5 stars! Their chicken with broccoli (spicy) was incredibly flavorful, and the chicken lo mein is hands down the best in the entire city. I honestly don’t know why I ever bother trying anywhere else. And their pu pu platter? Out of this world! No exaggeration—this is the best Chinese food in Howell Township. I couldn’t wait another order to let everyone know how amazing this place is! Highly recommend!
I placed an order through Uber eats and they cancelled it. I went through customer service and they gave me a problem. I called Kam Po and I explained my issue and the manager called me back right away and said no problem we will have your dinner. I went to pick up my dinner and they made it fresh and I left so extremely thankful that they were so understanding and the food was hot and delicious. After a long day of work ,I just wanted to feed my family . I am grateful for the way the entire staff welcomed me into the place and they were so nice and understanding. They will ALWAYS have my business.
Shirin Cafe
One of our favorite restaurants in the area! It's such a welcoming place with delicious food. We've tried the Manti, Meat Kutabi, Uzbek Plov, and Pork Shashlik, and everything was fantastic. My personal recommendation is the Meat Kutabi—crispy with juicy meat inside, it reminds me of the Crimean dish Yantyk. Make sure to order manti in advance, as there is bit of a wait time for them (~ 30 minutes). They are making this dish from scratch and do not freeze it. The shashlik was tender, juicy, and well-seasoned, while the plov was perfectly flavorful. The staff here are wonderful—friendly, attentive, and they provide excellent service.
Excellent Slavic food, owners and staff are very friendly, and the whole experience has been great every time we’ve visited. The ribeye kabob is proper šašlik, just like my father makes in our home country. We love their achichuk salad, potatoes, tšeburek, boršh, Uzbek bread — and of course kompot and fresh brewed coffee. Even the deserts are delightfully fresh and authentic. If you’re looking for Eastern European cuisine, this place is definitely worth visiting.
China Chef
We only get take out althoiugh they have maybe 3-4 tables for many years. Food has been consistantly great. Husband and wife team and very nice people. I love their house special soup but have not had anything that was not good here! Any reviews that are not stellar are likely from competitors!
This is the best take out Chinese food in the general area. I have been going here for several years and the quality and consistency is top notch. We've tried several places and this is number 1.
Kwong Fa Restaurant
I came here to try out the spareribs tips , which was amazing, great flavor done right. Everything else was subpar, nothing was flavorful. And yes like other people said, the person taking the order seems to be yelling at you. I probably wouldn’t stop by again.
For takeaway place surprisingly not greasy Food was ok Not sure what others are raving about
