Raytown To Go Chinese
I popped in on a regular Thursday. I wanted something spicy and to give this place a try because my daughters have given it so much praise. I ordered the Szechuan shrimp (no mushrooms) with fried rice and took it home. When I got home and opened the food I noticed that I did not get fried rice. Instead it was regular rice. No big deal. The rice was hot and fresh. I could eat it plain it was so good. I then opened up the szechuan shrimp and the vegetables were so crisp and fresh! The sauce had the perfect amount of spice and the food was still hot! There was plenty of shrimp and they left out the mushrooms (as requested). Definitely one of the best places I’ve ever gotten szechuan shrimp from. 💜
I ordered shrimp and chicken fried rice I always order my chicken white meat only. I called to the restaurant because my meat was not done and it was still pink. The lady said when you order white meat it comes like that, if was so bad I couldn’t put it in my mouth it was mushy and all. but I was trying to tell her it’s not done she said it comes like that and that was that and I was hungry for the rest of the night. I would not recommend going unless you like raw chicken and shrimp that is unknown. Below is a picture of the nonsense.
New China
Got delivery. Everything was so good. They really make the rice spicy as asked. Which I appreciate. Got combination fried rice with egg, crab Rangoons which are the recipe from the 90s that I grew up on and fried chicken wings.
Got the general tso’s chicken and while the portion was very big, the chicken was just bad. It was soft and rubbery and didn’t even taste like chicken. Crab rangoons were good though.
King Wok
Hey food connoisseur here. Food was Bussin! Just moved from 515. Decided to grab Chinese for New Year’s Eve. First time trying this place. Got shrimp fried rice with beef. Taste was on point, egg rolls and crab Rangoon delish.
Sad to say...this place changed. Used to eat here weekly/biweekly. The general tso being one of my favorite. But the sauce changed, it's like pure ketchup and very sweet. The worst part was the chicken. It was 95% breading...I literally had to search for a piece of actual chicken...and I'm not even sure it was chicken. Really disappointed on this one..won't be back... make king wok great again...
Panda Express
This location was 1 stop on our scavenger hunt for my sons birthday. The meals were delicious. Everyone enjoyed our time.
Was given the wrong food. First, they had me go around and wait at the side for almost 10 minutes to even get it. Didn't check it like I should have. So when I got home and looked at it, it wasn't even my order. Drove all the way back, and they locked the doors early, so I was stuck with food I couldn't even eat. I know for a fact their orange chicken doesn't come with yellow peppers. Photo showing the food I got with the print out of the food I should have gotten.
Lucky Buffet
I enjoyed dining in for lunch. The staff was nice, especially the host. I don't remember her position. She might have been the manager. I and my family enjoyed our meal.
Food was ok maybe .I came too late so over half the food wasn’t available or cold .I I arrived around 7pm and it says closes here 10:30. Staff was great atmosphere was nice for a buffet.
Spring China
This place is awful. The food tastes like the disdain with which they serve you. Still locked up from COVID. You can't go in, rain or shine. You have to stand outside which is fine. Because, the windows and doors are filthy, and what you can see of the inside looks no better. The food was cold, and the shrimp fried rice smelled like it had a yeast infection. Yes, it tastes as bad as it smelled. The spring rolls were crispy on the outside but mushy and gross inside. This place charges way too much for zero effort. The prices are insane for the horrible food and attitude you get from here. The family that owns the place are rude to put it mildly. I will not be going back. Hell. I'm surprised they haven't been shut down already. Good luck, if for some reason you have to eat here.
I had the chow mein at this restaurant, and it was fantastic! The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the flavors were rich and delicious. The staff was friendly, and the service was quick. Definitely a great spot for a tasty meal. Highly recommend!
Panda Express
Arrived at 10;🫷🏿 waited in the line 😮 awhile. It was 3 🚗 ahead of me. The server was nice. The man couldn't understand me; I had to talk 🦜 to a ♀️👠 woman. The food 🥑🥝 is 😃👍🏿 great, portion size could be better.
I hate this location. It's always the worse. Little food. Cold. Rice is hard. The only thing good is the new refreshers. Also the staff are very nice. I always get the bigger plate.
China Dragon
I am a Chinese food lover. This place has degraded in their food and service. I kept going back thinking I was tripping. I will not ever go there again just sloppy and distasteful!?!!?
I can't say enough good about this mom and pop location!! I try to visit at least twice a week and always get AMAZINGLY FRESH AND TASTY food every time!!! They seem to do a huge take out business and I can see why. The same gal is always working the front counter and is super friendly and appreciative of the business. NOT the nicest of locations but it's safe and always pretty dead around that part of troost. There sweet and sour chicken n pork are BOTH great options. The Mongolian beef was also amazing.
China Star
I love Chinese food and his carb rangoon is the best out of the 10 or so Chinese restaurants I've eaten at. Thick cheese, crispy rind, whatever I order, I have to bring it with me. I'm sure anyone who eats it will come back for more.
They have lots of pictures showing their plates of food. I ordered General Tso’s. It showed it with a halo of broccoli but they served in with no broccoli! We asked for water and they would only sell us bottled water, my first in a restaurant! We were sitting in a booth and she called us to pick up our food packed in styrofoam in a bag! My General Tso’s was unbelievably tough. Hardly chewable! I believe it had been deep fried previously and dumped back in the fryers after I ordered it! I would only recommend this to my ex-spouse!
Grandview Buffet
You get what you pay for. Food: you have a good variety, meat, chicken, sea food and veggies options. The taste in them are ok, just avoid the fried food, they do not taste good and looks they were fried in old oil. Desserts: very nice selection, you have also fruits, cookies and an ice cream section. Variety: very much! You can find noddles, rices, veggies, different kind of meats but NO SUSHI! just be aware of that. Service/ our waitress was super sweet and nice. Environment: someone make a comparison with J dragon in lees summit, I have to say not at all, this place has a better set up and look nicer, also has more isles with food. Let me out this in words, do not expect a first level place when paying cheap, I think for the price you pay it is fair. Just go here is you want to eat a lot and variety but not quality.
Quite literally the NICEST most respectful people I have ever met. Dishes never sat on our table they came immediatley after being finished with each plate to remove them. My kid made a giant mess at the buffet bar and I started picking up food.off the floor and they were like no no no and insisted to drop the food I had picked up in their hand because they didnt want me.to have to clean it up and politely told me its okay dont worry about it. Best service and experience I have ever had in 27 years. The food wasnt bad but wasnt the best either. 10/10.
Hy-Vee Chinese
The most average chineese experience. The only really good part is the sushi!!
Lao Peking Chinese Restaurant
Great service!!!! As soon as you walk into the restaurant you’re welcomed by a neat waterfall. The sweet old lady behind the counter is very help full. They are fast at what they do. And their crab ragoon is so sweet!!!
I have been ordering delivery from Lao Peking for years. Their food is delicious, and I've never had anything that wasn't delicious. Some of my favorites are the egg rolls, chicken on a stick, which taste amazing, and are so tender. Their egg drop soup is the best I've ever had, and they have great steamed dumplings, with delicious dipping sauce, that I could drink on its own. But my absolute favorite is their combination egg foo young. The egg cakes are fried, and done to perfection, with a flavorful, delicate brown sauce, and tender meat, with large shrimp, that are also done to perfection. I've never eaten inside, but I would recommend trying this excellent restaurant, to anyone who loves Chinese food. I order delivery from them, at least twice a month.
