Great China Buffet
Understanding, wonderful people combined with delicious food makes for a good combination! Great place for family gatherings!
Been craving Asian food the last week of my pregnancy and have eaten her 3 times in that same week! Hits the spot each time! The quality is perfect for the price! Usually I do take out but I spoiled myself today and ate in, they are so friendly calm and welcoming!
China City
If you’re not wanting to cook for the night and want a quick bite to eat, this is the place! Not super fancy by any means, but quick, affordable and fresh! I ordered the Mongolian beef and it came with rice and egg roll. I ordered the beef medium hot and it was just that! If you’re a true Minnesotan, you might want to order “little” spice. The fried rice was plain but it complimented the Mongolian beef well. I loved the egg roll! It had this peppery-ness to it, but not spicy. Overall we are pleased and will recommend this place. Bugles bugles.
Never tried this, figured I’d stop in on my way home for lunch. Service was great. Took them only 10 minutes to cook up my food which was also great. I ordered the orange chicken lunch special that comes with fried rice and then an order of vegetable lo mein on the side. The lo mein is very good, big container. The orange chicken i like as well, the fried rice is a bit different from the usual rice i’m used to but it still tastes good. Overall good food and good experience.
Mandarin Garden Restaurant
Ordered sesame chicken and the house special appetizer platter. Only got a extra small thing of rice with the sesame chicken, not even close to enough rice. The appetizers aren't even edible, every one of them was over cooked! Not ordering from here again! What a waste.
Went to Northfield for the day and was hungary, recently had Mexican and burgers and pizza. So when we spotted this place and walk in my friend knew he wanted some sweet and sour chicken and rice. The dinning room was clean and simply but elegantly decorated. The waitress was very helpfull, I explained I have difficulty chewing and she made recommendations. She was professional and enjoyable to talk to, we received our food fresh, hot and promptly. I got the Mandarin fried Noodles, my friend the Sweet and sour chicken. We were both pleased, I had some left over, and brought home to wife who also really enjoyed it.definatly would go back.
Cheung’s Garden Restaurant
Charged us twice. Argued with us and wouldn't refund. Horrible customer service and they were rude. Asked for chow mein noodles and was told they don't have them, even though they have chicken chow mein on the menu. The pork fried rice was pathetic. It was basically browned rice with tiny chunks of pork. No carrots, peas, onions or egg. The cream cheese and meat wontons didnt even come with sweet and sour sauce. Do not recommend!!
Sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, and lo mein - all a miss for us. Even the fortune cookie was stale. Very disappointing.
Great China
Went here as we found it through Google Maps. We decided to give it a shot. All I can say was the food was okay. Either the egg roll or spring roll was really bad tho. I literally could not eat it. Which sucked because I love both rolls. The low Mein was average. All the food was average. It didn’t really stand out. Would I come back? I really doubt it. It’s a long drive and the food wasn’t that good, unfortunately.
I found this restaurant to generally be as described by the last few reviewers: a super solid, tasty, small Americanized Chinese food buffet. By those standards I thought the food was really good (in particular, flavorful), the staff friendly and helpful, and the price was very affordable (
Little Chopstix
I was excited to try this place out. Got two dinner combos, and two drinks. Came out to be just under $30 for two people. The rice and broccoli was good. But the chicken was okay and the cheese wontons were very dry. They unfortunately had almost no filling and tasted old. You do get a decent amount of food for the price, and I would come here over panda.
My first and last time here for this place. Decided to grab wonton soup for lunch and let me just say it was nasty. On top of that, this was all the filling that was in there while there was a TON of wrapping. The wonton soup is definitely a 0/10 for me and definitely not worth my $7!!
Weng's Kitchen
Since I moved to a more rural area, I've been really missing Chinese food (I had a lot more options nearby where I used to live). So I was really excited to try Weng's and I'm so happy to say it was perfect and really satisfied the craving! Really good Egg Rolls, the menu has a wide selection of food options, we're already excited to order more food again. Great spice level. My husband's the one who ordered and picked up, he said the staff was really nice. Pleasant experience overall.
We got catering for a work lunch and the service was great. The staff checked in before pick up and made sure that everything was correct. Pick up was easy and food was delicious:
Yang's Chinese Restaurant
The food here was better than expected! Usually we find most Chinese-American food to be quite salty, but that wasn’t the case here. The portions were generous, the service was pretty quick, and the atmosphere was quiet (we came in on a Friday for lunch, so there was only a handful of people at the restaurant). We’d like to come back to try some other dishes!
Ordered take out. When I got home it was an EXTREME surprise to see how small the rice portion was. Maybe a tablespoon size scoop. Unbelievable how small the rice portion has gotten. Even ordering an extra rice wasn't close to what they used to serve with one serving. Also, ordered the Chicken with Asparagus #5. Not even close to #5. Yangs used to be my go to Chinese restaurant. This was extremely disappointing and will be looking for another Chinese restaurant. Very Sad Yangs!
Duc's Restaurant
Quite literally the best Chinese/Vietnamese food my daughter and I have ever enjoyed. We were in town from out of state for a shopping trip and we were craving Chinese food. A quick google search showed us the closest was Duc’s. My daughter ordered pot stickers and lo mein, while I had an egg roll and beef and broccoli. Everything was wonderful. I ate 3 of her pot stickers (which isn’t my usual pick, but they were so good!) The staff were incredibly friendly and quick! I told the owner that we’re probably lucky that we don’t live closer or we’d be there every other night for dinner! We had leftovers to take home and my older daughter tried some of the lo mein (under the watchful eye of the youngest who told her sister she could only have ONE bite, lol). She immediately said it was amazing and tried to tell me we have to make another trip to MN so she can get her own! We will be looking forward to the next time we have to make our way to MN, just so we can stop and enjoy Duc’s again! (To the staff: thank you for everything. Our lunch break was my daughter’s favorite part of our trip!)
I have tried many 'Asian' restaurants, and I will say this was sooo good! We ordered cream cheese puffs (rangoon), chicken wings, Beef Pho, and Beef and meatball Pho. The servers were sweet, nice, and funny! They brought us out several sauces, Hoisin, Sriracha, and pickled chilis, when they brought out the plate of fixings for the Pho. The Pho was so flavorful and aromatic! We loved the pickled chilis! When I say we loved the food, I mean, we finished our Pho broth to the last drop! We highly recommend Duc's! Atmosphere, staff, and food were phenomenal! We are so happy to have found a place more local for Pho! Wewill be returning for sure!
China Star
Stopped to pick up carry out over lunch. I ordered online- it was easy and fast. Our order was accurate and food was hot. Egg rolls were smaller than regular egg rolls. The store does have some limited seating. Restrooms in back- one out of order. The lady who took my payment and prepared our order was NOT friendly. She was yelling at me, with frown on her face when I asked her to repeat what she was asking. I’m not hard of hearing, I just didn’t understand her question. She was asking how many sweet and sour sauce I wanted. Her yelling and speaking louder didn’t solve the language barrier between us. It only made me want to leave. I stopped to get three separate orders to deliver to three friends who I thought needed a day brightener. I wasn’t sure I even wanted the food after dealing with this negative women. Maybe she was just having a bad day. I would give 1 start for friendliness 🫤.
Been trying to find the best fried rice in Rochester and I think it’s here!!!
Sky Dragon Restaurant
We've been going here since they first opened years ago. Since the 1st time, this is the ONLY Asian restaurant we buy. The taste is absolutely by far the best!! This is the BEST Asian food we've ever had in the entire twin cities metro area hands down! It used to be "our little secret" fav-go to spot, but word got out lol... Very healthy portions~ every meal I've had so far I've had dinner then lunch AND dinner the next day!! Dinner time can be a long wait some nights, but it's totally worth any wait!! Super friendly, dedicated service. Small family owned/run restaurant so you know your meal is made with the same love every time!! The only downside is a few times per year she closes down for a week or so for family vacations. Totally understand it's needed, but we cry every time we call to order and get that dreaded voicemail that they're closed. Amazing food!!!
Ordered online. Nice website! Advised on website that food would be ready for pick up in 20 minutes. I arrived in 20 minutes. Apparently that time estimate on the website is meaningless. Food was available at 45mins!! The lobby has Fox News playing while you wait so that should have told me all I needed to know. Ugh. There are lots of better places to get food. If you come to Sky Dragon for takeout, double the estimated wait time to be served, or like me you will be disappointed.
Golden Crown Chinese Restaurant
I ordered takeout at the counter. The hostess/cashier/server was only on the front end and rushed, not the most welcoming. I only wanted a small portion of sweet and sour chicken as per the menu but was told that was no longer an option I had to increase that item to a large portion. If paying by card the machine prompts for a tip at time of ordering. I sat in the dark lobby and waited as my order was prepared and observered hostess/ cashier/ server treating all customers the same as I was. The food was prepared and packaged to take out quickly. I plated some food to eat ( see picture ) There were prepacked crunchy chow mein noodles, soy sauce, duck sauce, mustard, and fortune cookies included but not pictured. The chicken chowmein lacked chicken. I gathered all of the chicken it totaled barely 1/2 level teaspoon of meat in the entire portion. It was loaded with celery. The egg rolls were cooked perfectly and were tastier than I remembered however the were either not stuffed full or were rolled too loose. The sweet and sour chicked was cooked to just done, with no over fried peices. I will be back again however will try something different than the dissapointing chow mien.
The owner is wonderful! I asked to customize my order and it wasn't a biggie at all! She's super fast and bubbly! Actually cares about the people the come in or even order food online. The place is so clean as well as the bathrooms!
