China Max Express
Tried this place for lunch last week. Went at around 11:30am and got in and out of there with my lunch in a matter of just a few minutes. Got the 3 combo plate with orange chicken, jalapeno chicken, broccoli beef and fried rice. Also an order of cheese wantons. Everything was very tasty! The orange chicken tasted just like I remember having at rivertown mall many years ago. Portions were good for the price. Service was good. This place will be a new lunch go-to for me!
Same owner that had the more favorite at Rivertown Mall. Was greeted by two young men one of which greeted me with a sample of their orange chicken which is by far the best around. Have not found anything nearly as close since they had to close because the mall jacked up the rent so high couldn't afford it. I got the three combo platter. Orange chicken, the green bean chicken, hot and spicy beef and a large pop for $16. Ended up bringing some of it home. I definitely will be back, this is not far from my home and my work. Nice job keep up the great work.
First Wok Chinese Restaurant
First Wok serves your standard Chinese food, but it seems like it’s good quality. The interior of the restaurant is surprisingly nice, and the staff seemed nice. My lunch order of cashew chicken was delicious and full of vegetables and nuts in addition to the chicken. The sauce was plenty savory, and I was very happy with my meal. I’ll definitely be back sometime.
Their food had always been good! Amazing flavor and portion sizes are big! Sometimes a little too greasy.
Chuy’s Chinese And American Restaurant
I would have given this a five because usually we go on Monday for the lunch special and the service is excellent and the food is excellent. Today we went on Wednesday and the food was still good but the waitress didn't have time to wait on us we were the only people there she dropped all the food off at once soup egg roll main course and never came back to even pick up the check I had to give it to a guy who told me she was busy won't go anymore on Wednesdays.
Their Amazing Chicken is truly amazing and delicious!! Tender Chicken & vegetables Ina slightly sweet tangy sauce... so good. Vegetable Lo Mein was good but lacked flavor and not many vegetables. I had only one water chestnut which was disappointing. I typically love Mongolian Beef and am anxious to try next time.
Great Lakes Chinese Restaurant
Swung in to try the lunch specials and was not disappointed one bit! Ordered the Cashew Chicken lunch platter and added an edd drop soup, and the food came out quickly. This was, maybe, the best Chinese I've had in town yet. Everything felt fresh, the veggies were crisp and the chicken and sauce were flavorful, too! Bonus: they deliver to my place! New favorite Chinese restaurant in Grandville, bar none.
Ordered takeout around 145pm today. The service was fine, the staff was friendly but the food was actually terrible. Super dry sesame chicken that was also somehow mushy. The egg rolls tasted like they had cinnamon in them and after inspecting them I did find what looked like cinnamon all throughout the veggies inside. The hot and sour soup tasted like spicy bbq sauce? Like what? $40 for 2 entrees was wild but a lot of people recommended this place. I have no clue why. The food was the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had.
Far East Restaurant
I really hate to do this to a small business, but the food I received today was awful. The lo mein had very thin and translucent noodles, coated in sauce. The taste was extremely similar to mei fun, which I stated to the person on the phone after I called about this order. The egg roll was burnt and had next to no filling inside, and the Generals Chicken was extremely sweet and citrusy and absolutely swimming in sauce, which makes me think I got orange chicken instead. I am extremely unhappy with this food and I ended up throwing all of it away. So I’m out $60 and was told I’m wrong about the food with no acknowledgment from them about the taste and quality of the food. Just unfortunate from a family run business.
Our server, Heng, was very friendly and welcoming. The food came out quickly and was piping hot. After eating my fill there was enough left over for lunch the next day and it reheated very well. Overall fantastic experience and well worth the 45 minute drive to get here. Will be back in the near future!
Great China
Got door dash delivery from Great China in Brighton. Got D20 General’s Chicken for the first time. White meat chicken, breaded, fried, hot and spicy sauce. It was as so good. Fried chicken rice, it was very good, moist and tasty. With an egg-roll. I was too full to try it. Traditional Egg Drop soup was great with the wanton crackers. Enough for 2 meals or to share.
BEST pork fried rice…..EVER tonight. The restaurant was very busy but “Alexa” who took our order was so calm and collected. And then we got the food home….and the chef for Saturday Jan 20th did a phenomenal job on everything!! Hats off to the chef and spunky Alexa!!!
Wong Express House
Always great food. Big portions and never skimp on the shrimp. I tend to always get shrimp fried rice for lunch. Hidden gem in Brighton.
Started to try this place recently out of desperation, 2nd time I ordered got a metal dish scrubber shard in my curry chicken lunch, found it in my mouth assuming maybe it was a hard bamboo shoot but nope. So glad I didn’t swallow it and have it stick in my throat, these things can cause severe injury. Also glad my child wasn’t sharing with me this time. I understand accidents happen but after looking thru reviews someone else found a metal washer in their food 2 months ago! they’ve lost my trust. Clearly they have issues.
Yung's Kitchen
I got a take out Sesame Chicken combo. The food was meh. The chicken was low quality and tough. The breading was soggy. The flavor was ok. The egg roll wasn't a real egg roll with bean sprouts, it was more like cabbage and "chicken". Overall, it was meh, but not horrible. If I go back, it probably won't be any time soon but I'd try it again in 6 or 8 months.
I recently ordered sweet and sour chicken from Yung’s Kitchen, and it was a disappointing experience. The chicken was tough and overcooked, making it hard to chew and not at all enjoyable. The sauce had the right flavor but couldn’t make up for the poor texture of the chicken. Adding to the negative experience, the owner was surprisingly rude when I brought up my concerns. Instead of addressing the issue, they were dismissive, which really put me off. I’m usually understanding if there’s an off night, but the combination of poor food quality and unfriendly service makes it hard to recommend this place. I won’t be returning anytime soon.
China Town
Food is not bad at all pretty good general tso chicken is very good. The sauce is amazing broccoli chicken is good chicken fried rice is good crab raccoons were absolutely horrible. Do not buy them.
There aren’t many Chinese restaurants I like anymore, but decided to order a carry out tonight from China Town. It was some of the best Chinese I’ve had in ages. The food was hot, fresh, and flavorful. The packaging was nice, leaking styrofoam. Everything had a secure lid. I got the house fried rice and it was so good! Had fresh pork, chicken, shrimp, and veggies in it for a small up charge. Nice sized shrimp too! Really so very pleasantly surprised! Will definitely be back.
China King Express
I ordered an extra egg roll, which was good. The almond dinner was disgusting. Someone poured approximately a cup and a half of yellow gravy over the almond chicken, it was a carry out by the time I got home it was a mass of guck. I threw it in the garbage. I wasted money I would never order their almond chicken again I think, moving forward the only thing I would get from this restaurant is egg rolls.
My husband and I have been going here for approximately 25+ years. Driving from the westside of Ann Arbor to pick up food. Based on past experience ordering general chicken, I told the man on the phone that we wanted the chicken that is fried with the sauce in bite sizes. NOT the cut up fried chicken with dark sauce on the side. After driving approximately 1 hour there and back, we open the food to find... they gave us the fried chicken with dark sauce on the side. They have done this almost a dozen times over the 25+ years. I asked for the manager, since I have spoken to the owner last time we came in and ordered food. We both raised our kids in Ann Arbor in the same neighborhood. This women was a total nightmare that I spoke to. As an Asian American woman myself, I was appalled. It is almost impossible to explain anything to someone who won't let you speak or give you an opportunity to explain. We asked for a refund for the meal we did NOT order. She refused. She offered that next time we come by, we could get a free general chicken. Clearly she did not listen, when we said we do NOT live in Belleville. Mind you, this is all over $15 refund when our normal carryout orders range closer to $100. This is how they treat loyal customers... NEVER again.
Lucky Dragon
We got four combo meals tonight, Sesame chicken, general tso , and sweet and sour chicken, I forgot to take a photo of the orange chicken. Also got crab rangoons. Everything was delicious, the portions were huge, and those were some of the best rangoons I’ve ever had. For roughly $16 a person, these combo meals are huge and an amazing meal. We definitely will be ordering again in the future.
First bad review ever and I don't want to bt I have to. My experience was terrible. Called in 2 orders of spring rolls. Was told 10min. Upon arrival I tried to communicate what order I was there to pick up and was immediately told to move and that my order would be up. So I go wait for about 15min. Other people coming in getting theirs and mine was supposed to be done upon arrival. Pressed for time I go up again and ask if she even knew my order. Basically my order wasn't ready and I left. Will never go back. Came off really prejudice, dare I say the latter.
Shong Hey Restaurant
Carry out only, but the food is yummy. I ordered two egg rolls, four patties of egg foo young (dinner portion)with a full quart of gravy and also rice for $21.53 - enough for four meals for me that were delicious and so cost effective! I just walked in and ordered and it was under 10 minutes to get my food. Go there!
The prices are much higher than before. But they give you so much food and it tastes so good. I ate off of one meal three times.
