very flavorful and authentic sour fish soup! fish is super tender and the homemade rice cake side was delicious. good portion sizes, the combo for 2 was big enough for 4 people imo. small + quaint, not too many tables inside.

The Best Sour Cabbage Fish in Maryland | B2J Sour Cabbage Fish Highly Recommended Local Food Hello, everyone! I want to introduce you to the best sour cabbage fish restaurant in the universe—B2J Sour Cabbage Fish! This is their fifth location, with the other four in New York, New Jersey, Texas, and Canada. Ever since I discovered this place, I find myself going back every few days, whether I’m in a good mood or a bad one—I just crave this fish! Their sour cabbage fish is made with snakehead fish fillets, which are super tender and boneless! I noticed on the menu that you can upgrade to bass for an extra charge, but honestly, the snakehead fillets are already amazing. They offer set meals: • Two-person set: 1 lb of fish + 2 side dishes + 2 small appetizers + 2 bowls of rice • Three-person set: 1.5 lbs of fish + 3 side dishes + 3 small appetizers + 3 bowls of rice • Four-person set: 2 lbs of fish + 4 side dishes + 4 small appetizers + 4 bowls of rice The sour cabbage fish is so delicious that we usually order an extra portion of fish for $14—otherwise, it feels like we have to fight over every bite! You can choose from different flavors: • Classic Sour Cabbage Fish (Regular or Spicy) • Tomato Fish • Mala (Spicy & Numbing) Fish My absolute favorite is still the classic sour cabbage fish! We also tried the tomato fish, which has a sweet and flavorful broth—really good! Now, let’s talk about the appetizers: • Fern Root Noodles: My top pick! This was my childhood favorite. My brother and I used to call it “sewer water” because it’s black. I haven’t had it in ages, but they serve it here as a cold dish, seasoned to be fragrant, spicy, and slightly sweet and sour—so good! • Fried Milk: A must-try! It’s kind of like fried rice cakes, but inside, it’s sweet, milky, and chewy. • Cold Preserved Egg (Century Egg): A classic Sichuan-style dish—really tasty! • Chilled Chicken Gizzards: Another childhood favorite! The portion is generous, and the flavor is on point. • Crispy Pork Bites: Crunchy and perfect when dipped in chili powder! Next time, I want to try the Golden Mini Buns, Osmanthus Lotus Root, and Brown Sugar Sticky Rice Cake—all nostalgic flavors from my childhood! But I always end up ordering my beloved fern root noodles, so I haven’t had the chance to try more appetizers yet. Drinks: Sometimes they have freshly squeezed corn juice—one sip, and it’s like being back in China! It’s super fresh and costs $15 per jug. Their sour plum soup and watermelon juice are also excellent. Bonus: If you post about your meal on social media, you get a free milk mochi! It’s similar to the fried milk but without the crispy coating—equally delicious. This place is so worth it—even though it’s an hour’s drive from where I live, I happily make the trip just for this fish. After devouring a whole pot, who wouldn’t feel a little dizzy with happiness? Plus, I even saw a double rainbow after my meal that day—maybe it’s a sign of good luck!

This place has the most authentic Shanghai food in DMV. Well if you argue it should be from your mom's kitchen then you win. I am just comparing this with Shanghai Taste and Bob66. (Shanghai lounge and Nanxiang has nothing to do with Shanghai food from my humble opinion.) Back to the business. If you are fine with any dishes being sweet then I suggest give everything a try. Something you may find weird, but it is just how things are done in Shanghai. If you want something salty you can get Fuzhu 腐竹 or Moyu魔芋, both are nice cold dishes. But I still suggest Kaofu 烤麸, Lajiang 辣酱 and Ribs小排 even you don't have sweet teeth. Meatball 狮子头 are nice to try as well, and Shenjian生煎 is a must try - I served Shenjian to my parents who still live in Shanghai when they came and they gave a positive feedback.

Great place for Shanghai food.

The food here is delicious! We had the Mongolian beef and orange chicken — pretty basic picks, but they were the ones we knew since it was our first time here. Both dishes were great, and the portion sizes were really good for the price. Another thing I really liked was that they brought out cold water and hot tea right when we sat down. It made the experience even better. We’re definitely coming back to try more dishes!

I have been coming to this location since it was Fu Shing Cafe with my family. When it changed to Yu Zhou Cafe we thought it wouldn’t be the same but it is. The food is great. The people are great. We always get the minced beef tofu soup, lemon chicken, shrimp fried rice, Taiwan rice noodles, and triple delight. Their hot and sour soup and cold jelly fish is good too. I recently noticed that their portions are not as much as before but I think that’s because of the new plates. I would have taken more pictures but forgot once I started to dig in.

Tried this restaurant for the first time and it did not disappoint. We ordered the Peking Duck, General Tso's Chicken, and Crispy Whole Fish. The Peking Duck was delicious and well priced compared to other restaurants. In order to get the special duck price, you did have to order other dishes totaling $20 or more and lunch specials do not count. I would come back for the duck. It was tasty and the whole duck was more than enough for 3 adults to share. The General Tso's Chicken was delicious. You actually tasted white meat chicken vs it just being fried dough. I would 10/10 recommend. The Crispy Whole Fish had good flavor, but I wouldn't order it again. It was a bit on the fishy side - didn't taste fresh. We were probably the only ones dining during lunch so service was quick. At the end, we were brought orange slices and hot towels to wipe our hands. The restaurant had plenty of seating and well kept.

I just had the best Beijing Duck in Montgomery County! We celebrated Valentine's at George's tonight and ordered the whole Beijing Duck special along with Szechuan Green Beans and Pork with Garlic Sauce. This was our first time at this location and the duck had really crispy skin and so much meat! The skin was perfect and the meat was juicy. George certainly knows how to prepare a duck and the best part is that he does duck at half the cost of everyone else. It came with the works (see pic) and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal; like a Chinese fajita but wayyyy more yummy! For those folks that remember Peking Cheers back in the 90s, well it's the same gentleman and his lovely wife that used to run the duck specials there. George is so gracious and kind. We chatted it up for a bit and he made us feel very welcomed. So glad that we met them again and we will certainly be back for more duck and explore more of the menu. We will try the hot pot and korean bbq as well next time but the duck is a winner. Most of the other diners were enjoying the hotpot which looked great, but I caught several folks around us eyeing our duck haha. You should give it a try!

They're a bit on the expensive side for the quality of food you get there (in my opinion). I've been there 3 times now, and every time something is wrong. On my last trip, I paid $32 for this. My containers of food were not even full. I'm most likely not going back. Getting shorted on your full priced food is not good business. I hope their service gets better with time.

Had my husband go Christmas and the line was out the door and took as long to order and for the food to be ready. BUT the food was phenomenal!!! My dad was in town visiting and said it was the best he’s ever eaten! So good and plentiful.

This was my first visit to this restaurant. I ordered a vegetable fried rice without eggs. The person behind the counter was friendly, my order was on time, and made just as requested. (No eggs) The food was fresh and I'm happy with the ratio of vegetables. I do feel the broccoli could have been slightly seasoned more, but it was cooked perfectly, and everything was great once you add a little soy sauce. I definitely plan on coming again. With tax, the total was $12.14 for a large.

Not your typical dine in experience. Little Panda Chinese Restaurant is more of a to-go establishment. The service was very good. Food was delivered to the table with a smile 😃. We especially found the price very reasonable. I had a generous portion of BBQ Pork Fried Rice. The BBQ Pork was outstanding. The Egg Drop Soup was also a generous portion. However, the crispy fried noodles aren't made in-house, but instead, I received grocery store packaged fried noodles. They were way too salty, I didn't care for them. Anyways, if I lived in the area I would order to-go/delivery from Little Panda Chinese Restaurant. They have good food!

Just tried this place today (02/21/25), and I was pleasantly surprised by the food for a take-out restaurant. My food was ready in about 15 minutes after ordering inside. The egg rolls were yummy and not greasy, and the veggie fried rice was tasty. The small chicken and broccoli was well made with other veggies and was enough for another meal. I was particularly impressed with the chicken foo yung because I believe the 3 pancakes were made fresh. Many Chinese restaurants pre-make them and just toss the meat on top in the carton, but these actually had the meat inside. I wouldn't recommend eating inside because there is NO atmosphere, and I guess the two plain tables are for people who have no better place to be. 😁

Business does not accept debit and credit cards, Canceled a hundred dollar order, Cant imagine how many other orders this business loses. Cash is not convenient and will not go out of my way to pay 3 dollars to get money out of an ATM. This business probably loses more than 50% of the market share not accepting cards. Whomever is giving this business owner advice to not to accept cards is ruining revenue and future growth for this business! Won't Return!

Prices for the combo platters have increased well over $3 from just a month ago. The food is still good, but not for this huge price increase..

I am very disappointed I was hoping to get good Chinese food and I got uncooked dumplings and dry teriyaki chicken

I'm stuck in the area several nights a week. Don't go out often, but the handful of times I've been to Goodie's, I've been very pleased. I saw a tripadvisor review saying the teriyaki chix sub was awful. Musta' been a off-day, because I got one and it was really good. The Chinese dishes I've had were very good and plentiful. Most recently, I had their gyro. I know, huge risk, but it was excellent. Meat was flavorful and crispy on the outside. Loaded with sauce, tomatoes, onions, etc. I've had gyros at Greek restaurants for 3 times the price that didn't come close. If you want flavorful food at reasonable prices (and good helpings), this place has been consistently good. They're also open when no other restaurants are (Monday nights). Atmosphere is non-existent - as far as I can tell, still takeout only post-covid.

I have been coming here for the past 2 years and I absolutely enjoy everything about this place. Sabrina is an absolutely amazing person to talk with when I am there. She is always smiling, friendly and personable. Beautiful personality and spirit!!

Hunan Manor In Indian Head...four separate dinners...all so delicious and so well prepared...Pepper Steak, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Shrimp & Scallops in garlic sauce and a beautiful Shrimp Mei Fun w/rice noodles. The pictures shown here were my lunch and dinner today...the portions were so generous and dinners were priced well. ☆☆☆☆☆ from me.

Beef Broccoli lunch special: So yummy! Portions are large too. They also do curbside pickup if needed, just call them ahead of time.

Hunan Star is consistently clean and fresh—our top choice for Chinese food in Southern Maryland. Every visit delivers hot, delicious meals and fresh sushi. We’ve never had a bad experience, whether dining in or ordering takeout, and we’ve done both many times. As someone who really values cleanliness, I appreciate the extra effort they put into maintaining a spotless, showroom-like environment for their customers.

The family was in the mood for some Sushi so we decided to come in and try this place out. Which wasn’t so bad, the portions were a good size and the sushi was good. When we came in it wasn’t busy and the service was pretty quick so that was nice. I ordered their beef and broccoli, which I wasn’t too much of a fan for this being the beef was on the sweeter side and I didn’t like that but every place is different when it comes to making this so that could be the reason, but like I said I wasn’t too keen of it but on the other hand the beef was tender and I did enjoyed the sushi. Also for those paying with card they do have a surcharge that’s additional added if paying with card, so if you don’t want to pay that I’d recommend you bring cash.

Great customer service! Great food that’s flavorful & most of all the establishment is very clean & welcoming! I’m more than sure they see me way too often. We love everything but our favorite is Singapore noodles w/ shrimp & extra veggies extra spicy. Also love the beautiful plants in the waiting/seating area.

I stumbled across Benny’s by way of good reviews while looking for a place to get good Chinese food. I’ve had food from other Chinese places in the area and was completely disappointed. Upon placing my order over the phone at Benny’s, Sammie was very nice and pleasant. Here I am leaving a post based on my experience. I would say that the food was great in which my family enjoyed and the staff is very nice and friendly.
