Sunrise Restaurant

Went here for a quick breakfast. It was packed so that's how you know it's good! The service was excellent and quick. The server was very kind and attentive. The stuffed French Toast was delicious!

This restaurant in Whiting, IN is a hidden gem. I ordered an egg special with bacon, hashbrowns and pancakes. It's a basic breakfast but a really good meal. My husband got the Melting Pot skillet which comes with ham, bacon and sausage and a side of pancakes. We both got a drink and the bill was only $23!!! Unbelievable price!! We usually pay at least $40 for the two of us.

Dragon Bowl

It's clean, the dining room has reopened, and the food is an exclamation point surrounded by parentheses (modest decor, great food, in a good area). Chinese, Japanese, and Thai cuisines. No MSG! Vegetarian and diet entrees are available. Get a take-out/delivery menu...it's huge. They're good people, so be patient with the language difference. Enjoy!

This is a get in/out type of place. They aren’t friendly and wont go above and beyond. Asked for eel sauce on the side, they charged me $1 and I get home and all I have is soy sauce. However, fish portions are generous and food tastes fresh. Never had a problem with their sushi.

Short but sweet review: I ordered a large House Special Fried Rice (with chicken, beef and shrimp) and it was worth every penny! I’m eating it right out of the container lol. Very fresh taste, plenty of meat, and positive energy from staff. Go get you some!

I went here a few weeks ago and by surprise the food was amazing. The rice was so like Chicago. When I asked for extra eggs and green onions, it was most definitely extra in it. The beef and broccoli was so delicious as well as the eggs rolls. Customer service was great, didn’t have too much of an interaction to judge because he was busy and handled us all well.

Mailee Chinese Restaurant

I've dined here quite a lot this past year. 100% of my orders have been takeout or delivery. Every single time the food has been FRESH, ON TIME, and nothing has been missing or made incorrectly from my order. This most recent time I had the Sweet and Sour Chicken, Szechuan Beef & The Peanut Butter Won Tons! The Sweet & Sour Chicken is just basic fried chicken pieces, some white rice, and the sweet & sour sauce w/pineapple, green pepper, onion & tomato. I just love the blend of tangy sauce with the fried chicken and the texture of the rice. It's comforting and tasty. You can't go wrong here. The Szechuan Beef was a bit spicy (it's labeled as such) which is what I wanted; filled with cabbage, onion, broccoli, and peppers along with tender juicy strips of beef in a tangy spicy sauce. It is also served with a side of white rice (You can sub fried rice for an additional charge). My favorite part and the item I look forward to the most here is the Peanut Butter Won Tons! They are crispy, crunchy and filled with a sweet peanut butter filling. It's like dessert. SO GOOD! You get quite a few of them (6-7) for the appetizer. I've tried noodle dishes, egg foo young, and even the BBQ Pork app...everything is great. Love this place. I have NOT dined in yet, but I enjoy takeout Chinese - I usually have food for another day after as well.

The food cost increased and dine in has been closed. The food has no flavor and did not taste good. Overall this place has become a no-go. The place is just slowly moving into the 3 stars for sure. I would not recommend. The chicken lo mein (not good) the pepper steak ( no flavor, bland). Overall disappointment.

Koroke Asian Cuisine

We ordered over 100$ worth of food at work, and they got the order perfect. They delivered exactly on time and the food was absolutely amazing. This place is the best. The veggie Singapore noodle is my personal favorite, but everything I've tried has been good.

It's been a long time since I've gotten good Chinese food around here but this place was awesome. Everything tasted fresh and great flavor. Highly recommended.

Green Garden

Ordered here looking for something that was open, and so glad we did. They have the BEST sesame balls I have ever had. We are so excited to order from here again. If you like sesame definitely order those!! We wish we ordered two orders of them instead of only one.

My first time checking out this place. Food was good, price for lunch was good ! Plenty of parking. I will definitely be going back to try more dishes. Thank you !

Fuji Thai

I can’t believe I found this little Gem 💎 in my neighborhood. We were looking for authentic, vegetarian friendly and that awesome real Thai taste. I have to say this is it. We had so much of a good time here. The food was great tasting and made properly. The chef took the time to cook it to perfection. We had warm welcome, the server was super nice, reached out multiple times to check on us if we need a drink or need anything else. This level of personalized interaction is something to be delighted for. The interior design is beautiful and even bathroom was extra clean. This will be our go to place and will tell all my friends and family to go check this out. Thanks Fiji Thai. Will see you soon again. Keep up your awesome friendly service. We loved it. See the photos I took and let the picture speak for themselves.

Place was clean. Service was excellent. Water was always filled. Food came out in a timely manner. Staff was really friendly. Food quality was good. Everything tasted fresh. Prices were fair. Portion size was generous. I would come back to eat.

China Style

1st off, I'm not a local guide as this stupid Google system says I am. Ok, Native New Yorker now living in Texas, seriously missing good Chinese food. I was in Illinois for business and a coworker suggested China Style and it was delicious! The nice woman at the counter had them make BBQ Pork Fried Rice for me, to go with an order of BBQ Pork and it was all very good! The prices were standard for what Chinese food costs these days. It was so good. I came back 2 days later for more of the rice and had the Chicken with Broccoli and it was very good as well! Thank you to the nice woman for having the order prepared specifically for what I wanted! Best Chinese I've had away from New York.

I ordered egg drop soup, the crispy noodles they give you to put on top or perfectly stale. Also, the chicken fried rice had no veggies. I've never had rice like that. Egg rolls and spring rolls were very good. They've changed owners and this is the second time I've ordered and never go back!

Once Upon A Bagel

I recently discovered *Once Upon A Bagel*, and it turned out to be so much more than I expected. While working on a project, a friend brought over some food that looked incredible, and when I found out it was from this spot, I had to check it out. What I thought was just a simple bagel shop turned out to be a hidden gem, offering an array of classic foods you don’t find much anymore. The bakery was outstanding, the deli impressive, and the hot food section full of delicious options. I decided to try the matzoh ball soup, and I have to say, it was the best I’ve ever had. Having tried legendary spots like Wolfie's in Miami and Rascals, I can confidently say this soup topped them all. If you’re craving great breakfast, lunch, or some nostalgic classics, I highly recommend stopping by *Once Upon A Bagel*. The place is extremely clean, well-staffed, and serves high-quality food. I can’t wait to go back!

The best chicken panini so far. Not overly filled with different things, just the right amount. The chicken noodle soup was OK.

Abigail's American Bistro

The food ,presentation and atmosphere were all 5 stars! A symphony of flavors! We also had a wonderful server Tina!

Great meal! We especially loved the crudo and the scallops! Was not super impressed with the duck confit salad.

Lucky Duck

Very clear that this is in its first few weeks and a work in progress. I want them to be successful but we didn’t have time to debrief this as dinner for 3 took 90 minutes before we had to dash for a commitment. The waiter and host were excellent. The food and service cadence were mixed. The black painted walls engulf rather than engage. The chime when the front door opens sounds like a dry cleaner rather than a dining experience. And the contrasting party room is wide open to the restaurant side, not quite a yin yang. The manhattan transfer cocktail got a thumbs up. The nearly winter one less so. The first few dishes came on strong - the deviled eggs were enjoyed quickly, the bulgogi fries were just the right crispness and balance, and the duck wontons were flavorful. Then like a record scratch everything stopped. The group in the party room was clearly being served. Nobody was getting food in the restaurant. Then every table got dishes all within a few minutes. The big pig bao and sesame mushroom bao came out over sauced. The chicken and egg rice bowl had several issues. We ordered kimchi on the side yet the dish was still quite spicy. The pickles weren’t evident. And the rice was basmati, not typical for a rice bowl, too thin and delicate to stand up to the proteins. The online menu lists four or five things that were not on the printed restaurant menu last night. Presumably the kitchen is still ramping up. I do wish them well and hope we can make it back to check on these.

First trip to Lucky Duck, which opened 2 weeks ago. Tiny space, which feels like a speakeasy. Just 5 tables and 7 seats at the counter. No reservations. The food is American with a heavy Japanese influence. We have literally ordered half of the menu and there was not a single item, which we did not like! The combination of flavors is truly amazing. There's a cocktail, beer and wine list. You can also bring your own wine with $10 corkage (it's a sister restaurant to The Gallery after all). Very highly recommended

Froggy's French Café

We went for a team dinner, the parking can be a bit difficult and they have valet BUT if you go around the corner there's a free parking lot. The decor inside was super cozy and welcoming. The staff was very kind and the food and wine was incredible! I'm not sure about the prices but I am guessing it will be on average a $100+ dinner for 2 with drinks. I had the medallions beef dinner item. My colleague who is a vegetarian said her pasta dish with veggies was delicious too!

This restaurant holds a special place in my family's heart - it's been our top choice for elegant dinners and celebrations for as long as I can remember. Most recently, I treated my mom to a Mother's Day meal there, and it was a truly delightful experience. The service is exceptional, and the cuisine is undeniably gourmet.
