Owner recommended I try their egg rolls and they were delicious! The sesame chicken was one of the best I have had in Chicago - definitely going back soon. Great spot for dine in or takeout/delivery.

Dine-in is OPEN!!! And Lane is giving it his best. Food was just as I remember it from 1993-2020: savory, delectably spicy, and delicious. Service was fantastic. There is no Chinese food like here. If Lane listens to constructive feedback and makes those legitimate tweaks that respectful low-star eaters have made, Mon Lung will be THE BEST CHINESE CUISINE RESTAURANT IN CHICAGO. They are very, very busy, so cut them some slack. They are only human like you and me. Don’t walk in here with an attitude and demanding. Running a business like he is, is tough. Imagine having to put on a smile for 300 people in and out every day. Have some compassion, but also do yourself a favor and give them another chance. You won’t be disappointed.

The first dish I’ve uploaded is lamb. I forgot the name but it was the tastiest lamb I’ve had. Love the ambiance and foood. Will definitely go back🫶

A handful of years ago, in college, I was sick and wanted a delicious, light, acidic soup. I ordered the fish fillet with chili and preserved vegetables not knowing that I would come back for this bowl of soup for many years onwards. In the dead cold of winter, and once my nose starts running, I crave the comfort of this soup. I have nothing to compare to regarding its quality or authenticity, but I just know it’s consistently good. This, and the dry chili chicken and the dry chili tofu, I highly recommend. Small businesses like ML Kitchen are gems in a neighborhood.

Bad bad VERY BAD…Most of the food is cold, many of them have an unpleasant taste... they don't use disposable cups, the chicken wings look old and taste bad... nor disposable cutlery, LITTLE VARIETY OF FOOD..! I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING..!

The worst most disgusting buffet I've ever been to. Food was old hard discolored had foul smell. I don't know how the health department hasn't shut this place down. Don't waste your money and don't risk your health eating here.

Better than most lunch specials. Service was extremely quick and surprisingly a large amount of food. Egg drop soup was better than expected and the best egg roll I have had in the Chicago. Will def try lunch again and will return for dinner.

The staff alone makes this a good place to get food. They haven't returned to dine in since covid. That's the only bad thing I can say about this place.

Ordered pepper steak dinner with extra onions in the gravy, what I get PEPPERED GREEN PEPPERS!!! It had bout 6 or 7 pieces of small meat and mostly green peppers. Didn’t pay $15 for vegetables and gravy… It’s 25 degrees out today, I know y’all could’ve find more stray dogs in Chicago to cut for me SMH… Next time YALL SHOULD ORDER PEPPER STEAK NO VEGETABLES AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS!!! Im done with they ass in a whole. RICE WAS GOOD SO I WANT SOUND ALL NEGATIVE!!!

Ok let me put it this way, their food sucks the man with glasses rolls his dull eyes at you when you finish’s ordering and turn your back, next time u order and pay with a card please check your balance after paying because they charge u over and if u don’t second check then it’s gone to them, he decides and chooses who’s call he wants to answer and even rejects the calls on purpose. Also learnt they said one time to a customer they don’t like black people

This is a fairly small White 🏰, but with great customer service. The order taker was courteous and was friendly. I ordered three white castles. I got them quickly. And yes, they were very tasty 🍔🍔🍔, or should I say sliders. On the whole, this White Castle was great with great customer service. 👍🏼

The service is regrettable. Being from Chicago, we get shitty service but this exact location is a disappointment. Based on the neighborhood, I understand why WC has em at the bottom of the barrel. Smh. Also I've been here a few times before but recently this service and food has definitely lacked. Only drunkards on a party night would enjoy food from this place.

I have been getting food from China Garden for over 10 years and they do not miss!!!! The food is always hot and fresh. The staff is also very friendly. I just tried their smoothies recently and they are so good.

My order was completely wrong. See photos of what was ordered and what was picked up. And they charged me $22 instead of $16.50. That's my fault for not checking

This is a comfort home cook place. If you’re looking for different dishes than what’s offered in Chinatown. This is good option. It’s very small place with 3 big tables holds more than 6, the rest are small tables of 4-2 people. Highly recommend to make reservations if you have a large party. The food is definitely the reason I’m here for. Know what you want to order and it won’t go wrong. The sweet n sour pork is the best I’ve had.

Be careful with this restaurant. They will scam you ! The waitress kept recommending the roast goose which was $45 displayed on the wall. But when the bill came, it was $90. They then explained that $45 was the price for a quarter of the goose. Such a big scam !

Terrible customer service. The employees & Manger act as if they don’t want to serve people of color . This is my second time eating here and I received the same energy . I work for the cubs in a fast paced environment and I Innerstand it can be frustrating nevertheless the lack of professionalism and rudeness is unacceptable. If they don’t like their job they should quit and now being negative energy into the workplace.

I am dissatisfied with the customer service that I received here today. When my grandmother and I walked into the restaurant we did not receive a greeting and the waitresses sat in front of us and talked to each other until my grandma started to give her order to interrupt them. My grandma requested chow mein, orange chicken, and honey walnut chicken. One of the waitresses felt it necessary that the honey walnut shrimp was back by the chow mein to emphasize her annoyance that she needed to pass the plate back to her coworker to add the honey walnut shrimp. This was unnecessary and trivial to mention.

You know a restaurant is bad when you have to go out of your way to improve their recipes. This is your typical hood Chinese restaurant so expect cheap food at high volumes. As always I have to note that there's a reason these places can do this. They most likely buy old frozen meat on the verge of expiration or "technically expired on that day" for pennies with the intention of getting it out the door quickly. The interior I noted might seem clean, but there's noticeable cobwebs everywhere. It wouldn't be that hard to just vacuum the waiting area every once in awhile and I never understand the reason why these places almost never do it. At least there's plenty of chairs and even tables if someone wants to set them up and eat inside (although I somehow doubt they intend to let people eat inside so it may be a relic of the past.) I ordered my usual test of orange chicken lunch special. The cashier didn't say much and when they did I couldn't understand a word they said. They got my order out within 10 minutes. As I started making my way out some bum attempted to block the doorway and beg for money despite the obvious "No soliciting sign." I don't know who he thought he was trying to intimidate because he would've just ended up at Roseland Community Hospital across the street. Luckily he ended up making the right decision & backing off. Looks wise you can tell they fried the chicken extremely hard. They either overcooked it by accident or were intentionally trying to hide the taste of expired food. The end result were literal bricks of chicken that the meager plastic fork they included couldn't even pierce. Not to mention the chicken was of course dry. The orange sauce is ok, but rather mild. They put just the right amount of sauce so that it doesn't spill yet it still covers all of the chicken. The shrimp fried rice itself was way blander than I'm used to. You don't even taste the soy sauce. They also skimped out majorly on the shrimp since there was only a few pieces for these huge mounds of rice. I was so disappointed that I tried saving the rice by refrying it with more soy sauce and adding toasted sesame seed oil, oyster sauce, carrots, green onions, bok choy, etc. It ended up being much better than what they sold me otherwise the original dish most likely would've ended up in the trash.

The rice tasted stale and had no flavor. I had to drown it with soy sauce. The shrimp fried rice should’ve been called just rice because I had less than 12 shrimps in my rice. Also they didn’t have any eggs in the rice. The chicken wings were cut in half to make 6 pieces. This was the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had.

My experience is pretty good here. The food portion is big. We ordered the xinjiang big chicken plate. My husband and I ate it for three meals. Highly recommend the lamb skewers! I like the part that their skewers has fat in the middle which makes skewers even better. Also the cold spice chicken also tastes really good, the numbness is great, though maybe a bit too sweet. In general we love the food we get and we will definitely be back and try fried noodles that we did not get the chance to order.

Went to checkout this newly opened Xinjiang restaurant a couple months ago. It was such an disappointment. 新疆椒麻鸡/Spices Chicken with Green Sichuan Pepper was overloaded with spices in a bad way, and the chicken tasted like plastic sealed souvenir food you can buy at tourist attractions back in China. 新疆缸子肉/Mutton Soup tased ok but it was covered by like an inch of oil, could not remember how did I even tasted it. 新疆炒米粉/Egg Fried Rice Noodle, the waiter warned me it’s extremely spicy, but it came not spicy at all, and the meat in it did not taste like fresh. 火焰山架子肉/Tandoor Lamb, is it a joke? It was not even eatable, 70% of the meat were pure fat, I was having a had time to understand how could they even serve this dish. The worst of my 2024 first half of year restaurants.
