Ming Hing
I highly recommend Ming Hing. I have been eating their food for 4 years now and it is without a doubt my favorite chinese food. But more than that I find that their sushi is better than most sushi restaurants. The staff are wonderful and have an eye for detail as well as being extremely friendly. I will continue to be a valued customer for years to come.
Reliable variety of Asian food - both Chinese, sushi , drunken noodles- all the standards - all good and ready to satisfy the family.
Warwick Thai
Always great food here. A few things on menu aren’t authentic Thai but I can excuse that cause the food that really is Thai tastes great. I got drunken noodles which is one of my favorite. Have been here and ordered out many times and have never been disappointed.
When we first arrived we switched tables because the cushioned seat had a HUGE piece of tape on the seat. It was extremely cold in the restaurant - our entire party was cold the entire time. We asked them to turn the heat up and the waitress said it was out of her control. The food was not hot & not very good which is the reason why we are giving a 1 star review. We had been there 2x before. The first time was very good. The 2nd time not so good but we did give it a 3rd and last time. For 2 people it was $100!
Tokyo Plum House
Have been ordering sushi takeout from Tokyo Plum House for the last 8 years with my husband. Hands down BEST sushi around. Always fresh. The food is exceptional every time we order, without a fail. Highly recommend this place!
Wow! Just wow! The ambience is a bit old but it’s all made up for in the food and service! I’ve been in warwick for 5 years and am so mad I didn’t try them sooner!! Haha. Enjoy!!
Halligan's Public House
Amazing drinks, amazing food, amazing staff! Great for a Friday night spent at the bar. Can’t wait to go back!
The good: Service. Jeff was really great. The hostess was also very nice and accommodating. It was clean nicely, even the bathroom! 👍 Chicken wings were classic and good. The bad: kitchen. The salad 4/10. Onion soup 5/10 (the cheese was rubbery, it’s not the proper cheese for this dish). The burger 6/10, nothing interesting . Onion rings 8/10 and I think it’s a frozen product. The skirt steak 2/10 - the purée was fine, but the steak - it was like chewing on a car tire 🛞 - possibly as it WAS cut with the grain. Maybe it wasn’t let to rest before cutting (just guesstimating), the mushroom sauce tasted like an industrialized product… I think the kitchen should re-assess itself, because this establishment got good bones.
mingtown
I usually order on Friday nights after work from door dash. It's fresh, plentiful, and the portions are great. Eating a nice hot meal after working for 12 hours is nice to have. The egg rolls are so fresh and crispy. I also alternate between dishes and it never disappoints. It's the best Chinese restaurant around!
It’s my first time ordering from Mingtown I had the plain chicken wings and shrimp fried rice and the food was hot fresh and delicious. I can’t tell when was the last time I had Chinese Food so good
Kawa Japanese Fusion Cuisine Restaurant
Fresh food in a clean modern environment. Love the lunch bento box with soup and salad, such a great deal! Chicken stir fry is tasty! They also make kid chopsticks!
This place gets a good review for the insanely good price . 15 dollars for a set is amazing. The katsu is a bit thin but was good anyway and about what I expected for the price. The restaurant is nice and small, it feels cozy. The sushi roll is a proper full roll. That along with the set menu filled me up. I wish the katsu was thicker but still a very good place for the area.
Benitos Pizzeria & Cafe
Best pizza ever, great friendly ambience, excellent waitstaff. And the Fireman's Soup is delicious beyond description!
Very tasty pizza! Always a friendly welcome too! Try the buffalo chicken pizza- you won’t be disappointed!
Hong Fu Chinese & Japanese Restaurant
This place was a huge surprise to discover in Slate Hill! I had no idea it was even here until one day desperately searching for somewhere with some decent Chinese or Japanese food in the area after growing disappointment with some old "favorites" in the Sussex area, and Middletown. While it might look dodgy from the outside and there's no indoor service (just a pick up window), the food is legit good. Generous amounts of meat in the Chinese dishes (especially like the pork with black bean sauce), well cooked (vegetables still with some "bite" and shrimp tender, not overcooked and rubbery). Only tried one or two sushi rolls so far and they were fine if not exceptional, too. Can get a lot of food for the price, and I like their online ordering system as well. Hong Fu has now become a regular stop for me when visiting family in the area.
The food is delicious. Yiur order is made promptly.
Magoya
I went to Magoya Japanese Restaurant in Chester, New York and had salmon tartare, spicy tuna roll, yama roll and cucumber dish. All the food was made without seasoning and was authentic and delicious.
Honestly wasn’t bad just overall weird experience. I didn’t enjoy my sushi as much as I would have liked to. I was honestly scared by some of the textures in my spicy tuna roll. Their dining room is aesthetically pleasing but I would say the restaurant itself is in an awkward place (like parking and residence near it seemed confusing). We were the only ones in the restaurant, so service felt a bit awkward but server was very attentive. I don’t personally think I would go out of my way again for it.
Kam Fung Chinese Restaurant
Highly recommend this restaurant, each time we travel home to visit family, we make this takeout treat a priority! Clean, friendly, fresh food.....a bit pricey, yet worth it!
I have a bone to pick with this place. I have been visiting this location For the last 12 years And have never really had any complaints Good food and good people. The last two times I have ordered pork ribs on the bone I have gotten nothing but skinny barely any meat on the bone ribs. Many visits before the bones were very meaty and delicious and considering how much they charge now for a large order it is not fair to diminish the quality of the serving. And to be honestly it almost looks like they were shaved off a little bit some of the meat the bone. I only hope they are not actually doing that in order to add more pork to other dishes.
Goshen Chinese Kitchen
I rarely give out 5 star ratings, but Goshen Chinese Kitchen fits the criteria. First off, the hostess is phenomenal. She is lighting fast with her order intake. What's even more impressive about her is her memory. She remembers her customers & what they usually order. Chef Johnny & his team are great at what they do in the kitchen. The food is on point & it's good. It is the best Chinese food restaurant I have ever eaten at 😋. If you're looking for the best Chinese food in New York state, look no further than Goshen Chinese Kitchen.
Might just be THE premier spot for Chinese food take out in the county.. Food is like everywhere else but clearly you can tell the difference in their care and love by the chef and her approach and her joy when speaking to her. They make their own hot chili sauce which I adore and appreciate and their hot mustard is the only one I’ve come across that rivals YouYou in Middletown. Photo is of my empty plate but seriously, best sweet and sour pork from a take out restaurant I’ve ever had. 🍲
You You Asian Cuisine
The staffs are very nice and friendly, great service. I ordered a sushi party boat, fish are fresh. Also ordered lomein, ribs, Mapo tofu, fried chicken with French fries, and hot & sour soup. All the dishes are great, specially the hot & sour soup is tasty. I recommended this place to everyone. I will definitely return if I am around the area.
I am a former NYC resident and lived over 40 years just blocks away from NYC's Chinatown. I have also eaten Chinese food an average of once a week for the past 60 years. When I moved to the Orange / Sullivan County area 20 years ago ,one of my biggest regrets was the poor quality of Chinese food in the area,, that was until I found YouYou. Their food is the closest I've found to Chinatown or the many excellent Chinese restaurants in Brooklyn or Queens. While not perfect, most of the dishes I've tried there are very good. The service for dine in is also very good. The inside can use an update but everything looks clean. They definitely need new tables though as I don't like the feel of the varnish on the tables they have now and some of the booths are starting to show that age. They are about 20 miles away from me but worth the drive. I'm tired of throwing other Chinese food away, at least I know YouYou is worth my time and money.
