Joy Garden Chinese Restaurant
I stopped in for a quick bite so I don’t have much to say other than this is pretty much your average run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant. If you don’t have the highest expectations you will enjoy whatever you order! Very nice ladies work inside and the chefs work fast 🏃🏽♂️💨 Most importantly... the food is decent
Been coming here for years. Food is decent and the staff who rings me out is always nice. Decently priced as well. I always get General Tso's chicken or the Sesame chicken.
Ruby Thai Kitchen
Browsed the selections and did not notice any Thai cuisine. Saw egg rolls, wonton soup, & Lo Mein. The name RUBY THAI is misleading. Perhaps the chef is Thai but the cooking is more likely Chinese takeout style. That being said… I had the $10.50 curry chicken with veggie fried rice. It wasn’t bad and I did eat all of it. The food is okay and it’s quite busy each time I walk by. Don’t come here expecting anything resembling Thai food except for the name.
Don't think about it just get it. It is so good and reasonably priced for the portions you get.
Crab Du Jour Cajun Seafood & Bar
Pro: "Stoney" herb-infused drinks Cute decor The white drizzle sauce on the crab fries was sweet n tangy. Fish was hot n fresh, crispy yet juicy in the center. Con: Audio speakers kept cutting in & out... Very distracting Ranch was almost too cold like had been premade & stuck in a super cold fridge. The consistency of the crab fries looks like tuna
My hubby and I went on New Years Eve, arounf 6pm. There was more takeout than sitting. Sign at the front door stated automatic 20% tip, which they added to ours. I'm on a low salt intake, so my opinion was their sauce was good but too salty, and it coagulated quickly during my time of eating the crab legs. Staff service was wonderful. The barmaid / waitress was very good. Would prefer bathroom to be cleaner. I don't understand why walls and ceiling vents don't get cleaned. Will definitely go back because we enjoy it.
Lucky Buffet
I’ve been to many buffets in my time and I have to say, never again! The food was not good at all. You can tell the food had been out too long. Even the 10 year old that accompanied this dining experience would not eat the food…
7/6/24 So this is a self serve buffet. You get your own drink your own silver ware. Their is a large selection of food to choose from. Everything I had was good and hot and very tasty. My wife is very hard to please at buffet, but she even liked everything she ate.
New Great Wall
Every time I order 2 large orders of plain Lo mein the old guy in there tries to give me 2 or 3 soy sauces. Then have a nerve to get an attitude when I ask for more. Not sure what his problem is but I’m SICK of having to ask for more sauces. This has happened on numerous occasions. I don’t have this problem at China King on Kirkwood Highway. Bet it won’t happen again!
I order beef and broccoli from here and the beef wasn’t beef at all it was chewing it taste like something else never going to order from here again. They need to close this place down!!! Cutting corners substitution for something else other than beef or chicken and I am going leave it there but read in-between the lines. It wouldn’t allow me to respond to your message so I added it to my view. NO THERE WERE NO MIX UPS! I still have the receipt on my phone as well on my American Express Statement now you’re playing with my intelligence.
Golden City
Avoid this place like the Plague! When first arriving at the restaurant, I walk to the front door to find 2 boxes of used frying oil just sitting on the sidewalk next to the front door. The oil smelled awful, I figured they must've recently changed it. After walking inside,I was stunned by how filthy-dirty the place was. Everything was all over the place, what a dump! It was getting late, so I decided to place a small order of food, against my better judgment. That was a big mistake, the food was not edible. I threw everything ordered in the trash. The whole place was just filthy, dirty walls, floors, windows, kitchen area, I can-not say anything nice positive any this place, other than I'll never be back again! I do-not recommend this place to anyone. Any business owner who runs a business like this deserves to be out of business. The health department should definitely investigate this place. I decided to post their menu on here so everyone can see how unorganized and disgusting this place actually is. They can-not even spend money to purchase new menus, so they use white-out and a pen on all of the menus to change the prices. I've never seen anything like this before, so I just had to warn everyone who's considering possibly going here, i have one word for you, DON'T! Have a Blessed day....
This is far by the best “Takeout”Chinese food that I have found in the area since moving from New York a few years ago. I don’t know about you all, but I can taste the quality ingredients can tell the difference in preparation versus other classic takeout joints. If you need a quick easy example, get some of their wonton soup and look at the broth. That alone is an example of the high-quality preparation and ingredients that goes into the food from this restaurant. Hey…, To each their own, but I just wanted to show some respect to these guys because in my world some Chinese takeout is a pretty nice and important thing every now and then.
Just to Serve You, DE
I purchased 2 whiting fish platter with macaroni and cheese and collard greens. I paid $32 for my food. Opened the containers and was shocked. The fish was fried nicely just right not to soft not to hard. The macaroni and cheese was old burn overcooked and not palatable. The manager should have made a new pan and discarded the pan they served me. Who sell old burn food the customers? Just to serve you in Wilmington has declined over recent years. The older lady with the glasses and dreadlocks is extremely rude and has a nasty attitude. I believe she is the owner. The male owner bald short guy just stares at you and says nothing. The dessert case which used to be filled with desserts from Denise’s Bakery is limited with just 3 types of cakes…. I believe the business is secretly in transition with new owners. Poor customer service and nasty food are a great combination to lose business. Never again no ma’am I’m done. It’s sad because the bald guy prided himself on the quality of his macaroni and cheese and said he fired people for not making it correctly. Well fire everyone and close the doors cause this ain’t it more.
Time and time again I try to support black owned businesses but 9 times out of 10 I’m disappointed! This was my first time ever coming to this restaurant. I arrived at this restaurant at 808 pm. On the door of their establishment and on google it says it closes at 9pm on Saturdays. When I walked in with my family a young lady comes out and says sorry we decided to close. If we would’ve known they were closing early we would not have drove out the way 20 extra mins to order food from here. I’ll never come here again!!!
Takumi
Pretty solid sushi, prices were on the average side as well (plenty of rolls for $8-11). Large selection of vegetarian sushi rolls that I haven’t seen before. Plenty of non sushi options as well. The hostess was friendly and polite and the decor inside was gorgeous. The only thing I didn’t like was that the sushi seemed to come apart pretty easily. Flavor-wise it was good but not remarkable, but I’ve had lots of sushi so your mileage may vary. I’d recommend giving this place a shot if you’re in the area.
This might just be the best Chinese restaurant in Delaware and Pennsylvania. They’ve been around for nearly 20 years and have built a loyal following for good reason. What sets them apart is that they don’t use MSG, so the food tastes both authentic and healthy. While the interior design may feel a bit dated, the quality of the food more than makes up for it. From fresh sushi to flavorful Japanese and Chinese dishes, everything is consistently delicious. It’s the kind of place that Chinese locals find truly authentic—and a great spot for Americans to explore real flavors beyond the usual takeout. Definitely worth a visit!
KUTEER
The food is tasty but the containers got soooo small…. I ordered twice at different times… and the container size reduced each time. I asked for the old round containers but they still sent the very small containers… I did get the bogo special… but in reality there is not way I would pay $14 for just one of these containers.
Got the bonda and the rava dosa. The rava dosa was amazing and crispy while the bonda was okay and they were little battery (not all, most of them were crispy and good). The sambar and chutneys were especially amazing. The prices are unbeatable and affordable. Worth the price completely.
India Grille
Very nice family restaurant. Service was very attentive and provided complimentary appetizers. We tried a wide variety and all was delicious and cheaply priced. We brought all extras home for takeaway. Highly recommend!
This is the best restaurant for delicious Indian food with many varieties. The ambiance is so good and you get personalised service and care for each customer, by the owner Mr. Illias Mohammad. Don't miss to enjoy a nice experience, when you visit Delaware PA.
Golden Dragon
Chicken w mixed veg was good, a lot of sauce and the chicken is ok. For it's price it's decent. The sauce has a high oil taste which spilled into the rice . The egg roll had a sweet taste but also high oil taste. Agree with other reviews that quality is lacking. Fried rice has 1 tiny piece of pork. Compared to others for 1 or 2 dollars more it's only a one time purchase for me. Keeping in mind the price is only 10 dollars you get what you pay for
The place is clean yes but the food i respectfully don't like. I ordered shrimp fried rice because I saw the picture and read what was in it , egg , peas, carrots and onion but when I got home it was rice and shrimp! I could have made that at home . Never again.
Panda Express
I have to share my disdain for this location in particular. I've dined at Panda Express from California to Maryland and plenty of stops in between. My favorite dish at this franchise is veggie spring rolls dipped in their Red Sweet and Sour Sauce. This location is literally the only location that I've encountered, mind you I've dined coast to coast at Panda Express, that wouldn't give me sweet and sour sauce in any other manner than individual packets. It's labeled as sweet and sour, but it isn't anywhere near the flavor or quality as the sauce from the kitchen. Getting this sauce from the "kitchen" has been the norm for me at dozens upon dozens of locations across the county. The cashier named "Milan" told me "no, we can't do that." I asked why this is, and she replied "you just can't, it's only for cooking, you're not allowed to have it." All of which was said with a tone of voice I would describe as condescending. She later gave me 6 little packets of whatever sauce that actually is(they call it "sweet and sour") but it doesn't taste the same and it's in the most inconvenient form factor manner. We had to go back to get more because the minuscule amount of sauce contained in 6 tiny packets was not sufficient for our quantity of food, so we went back again and we were handed only 3 tiny packets. They're retaining this sauce like it's unobtainium. Absolutely poor experience.
Great food and plenty of it. Clean and pleasant to deal with. I would definitely recommend this place 😉.
