Brookside Inn Restaurant
Had lunch with 3 others! Food was delicious! I ordered sausage broccoli rabe to go for my husband! Although it’s delicious but the portion was much smaller than what we had at the restaurant! Last time I ordered to go we had more broccoli and cavatelli for an entree!
What a fantastic place to come enjoy a meal! They have been in business for decades, and their good reputation is well deserved. The restaurant is easy to find on Route 67, and there is lots of parking. There are two dining areas, and a large bar as well. Also outdoor seating too! Staff is very friendly, but the real star of the show is the food! High quality fresh ingredients, cooked perfectly. I had an order of clams casino, they were super tasty, and the shrimp cocktail included 5 huge shrimp that were so firm and good, each one was worth 2 bites! The French onion soup was stellar, loaded with tons of gooey cheese & onions. I had the chicken "Gypsy" style, which is sauteed with sausage, roasted potatoes, vinegar peppers, and a tangy wine sauce that was delicious! My friends had the homemade lobster ravioli, chicken Marsala, and homemade gnocchi with braised pork and a great tomato sauce. Everyone was pleased with the large portions and fair prices. Finished off the meal with some Sambuca, which came in a snifter with the traditional 3 coffee beans. We all had leftovers to take home, and had full bellies & satisfied smiles on our faces. I highly recommend coming here, and will return again soon!
Golden Wok
I have been going here and love the food. Now never again. They gave someone else my food and made me wait an hour for a single combo meal. They didn’t offer me a discount for waiting or their mess up. No thank you.
So this is a little Chinese place hidden in Prospect, CT. The lady that runs it is very friendly and accommodating. The food is the best Chinese food I have had hands down anywhere around where I live. I got sweet and sour chicken. The chicken was perfectly golden and crispy. The sauce was sweet with a hint of sour, and the rice was perfectly cooked. My 14 year old actually ate it too, and she's very fussy about what kind of Chinese food we get. She said it was the best she'd had too. I definitely recommend them.
Thai Dish
The food is delicious, we came from NYC just to explore new places, we found a cozy, family location. The taste is a wow factor. Wifey and I are definetely coming back on the Harley for summer in a group. The spicy basil fried was amazing.
We really loved dining at Thai Dish! The food is Amazing!!! I’ve been to many similar restaurants, but this one truly stands out. The attention to detail and commitment to guest service set it apart from the rest. From the moment we arrived until we left, everything was very well handled. I appreciate the team for putting together such a good experience. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.
China Wok
China Wok left much to be desired, both in terms of food and cleanliness. The food was average at best. The lo mein lacked flavor, and the fried rice was dry, barely seasoned, and underwhelming. Even the General Tso’s chicken, which is usually a go-to favorite, was soggy and overly sweet, with very little spice. It felt like everything had been sitting out for too long rather than being freshly prepared. What made the experience worse was the condition of the restaurant itself. The inside was unsanitary, with sticky tables and floors that looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in days. The bathroom was also in poor condition, which made me question the cleanliness of the kitchen. While the staff was friendly enough, the lack of attention to cleanliness and quality really overshadowed everything else. If you’re looking for a quick bite and don’t mind mediocre food, China Wok might do the trick. But I can’t say I’ll be returning anytime soon given the state of the restaurant.
Now my favorite place to Chinese takeout! Staff were very accommodating, food was great while being in a reasonable price range, and the delivery time are satisfactory. Great place would recommend for your Chinese food cravings.
Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant
Everywhere is a food desert on Thanksgiving, so this place would qualify as an oasis. Boosting the "Food" rating, remembering they used _plenty_ of fresh veg to make my dinner. Amazing Hot & Sour soup. Next time I'll take the plunge and order "spicy." Sometimes I forget I'm in CT.
Moved across country a couple years ago and one of the things I miss about the northeast is great Chinese food (and the best Pizza). I'm in town for business, alone in my hotel room and see this place has decent reviews... I'll get some Chinese food. Well I still haven't had good Chinese food. It was "midwest average" or translate that to Northeast "meh". I ate it, because it's what I'm used to at home (dry chicken with little flavor and rice from 4 days ago that was as dry as sand, with some onion chunks for flavor
United China Restaurant
Everything tasted great, but the Ting Tong Shrimp was battered & deep fried and I wouldn’t have ordered it if I knew. It would tasted better if the shrimp were just cooked with the veggies.
Dawn and Jon are a Mom and Pop business for around 20 years. Their children were raised in the family business and although they don't deliver, their food is the best in West Haven and Milford!
Shanghai Gourmet
First time trying Shanghai Gourmet. Food was tasty but more importantly healthy and fresh, not salty or greasy. We tried the chicken fried rice; vegetable fried rice (it does have egg in it unless specified to exclude); fried dumplings (meat); fried vegetable dumplings; and general tso's chicken (mild spiciness). A little pricey but worth it. Will order from here again for sure! Definitely recommend👍
Food is excellent and has never let us down so far. All of the dishes we tried so far have been lip smacking. It's one of our go places while in the Milford/ Orange area.
Ji Bei Chuan
This is our go to spot to dine in! The food is delicious every time we come! We always get the spicy garlic cucumber, pan fried dumplings, TFC, fried calamari, crystal shrimp dumplings & the Xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) to start off! All of these appetizers are so flavorful, we just can’t get enough! The thai tea boba is a must try as well! Then we get the House of Pho with fish maw!! It is immaculate. The best pho in CT so far! Don’t forget to end the meal with their fried mochi balls topped with soybean flour & brown sugar syrup. It’s to die for! The portions are really great and you will leave feeling full and happy! They all are super nice & welcoming. It’s a cozy environment. Perfect for date night!
Mala beef brisket spicy Ramen is spicy. Not for the faint of heart. Great for those looking for authentic Asian spiciness. Good wonton ramen soup. Their Taiwanese popcorn fried chicken is popular. Needs a little sauce on the side or more saltiness. Also had their shrimp dumplings and sautéed bokchoy.
Wah-Chun Chinese Restaurant
The food itself is one of my favorites in the new haven area, with just one other to go place above it. Unfortunately timing is NOT their thing. Once in awhile the food will show up so fast you wonder how they had time to cook it, but most times it could take almost two hours to be delivered. The place is close to me, but the the parking lot has a good amount of crack heads loitering, so I prefer delivery. They are cash only which would be ok if they delivered by the estimated time, but you can't leave your house even to walk the dog because your food can't be left at the door. 15 minutes and two hours is a big difference. Overall; food is great/ always hot, delivery time very unpredictable and not as stated, food prep/delivery tracking does not work. If you order from here don't wait til you're hungry, walk your dog before ordering, and if you need to leave and/ take your family somewhere in the near future order from somewhere else. Staff is always apologetic, but it's clear they need more help.
Waited for my delivery 1 hours 30 mins. Called after 30 minutes and told them don’t deliver food if it isn’t re made because who wants soggy fried chicken/fried French fries. Still show up with soggy food.
Koi Sushi Steak & Asian Fusion
We had a very satisfying Dining Experience Koi Sushi and Steak House is a charming little spot that offers a diverse menu of sushi, Chinese, and Thai dishes. The welcoming staff and fast service make it a pleasant dining experience. We visited with a group of six people and were impressed by the quality and variety of the food. From the appetizers to the entrees, everything was delicious. Whether you're craving sushi, Chinese, or Thai cuisine, Koi has something to satisfy your taste buds. Our group had a variety of dishes and everyone was thoroughly pleased with their choices. The sushi was fresh and flavorful, while the Chinese and Thai dishes were well prepared. If you're looking for a reliable and satisfying dining experience, Koi is definitely worth a try
Excellent service. Food was promptly prepared. The dishes were fresh, interesting and had their own personal style. Not the typical menu but for sure has the classics. The establishment is quite large and with ample space for customers to feel comfortable. No complaints at all, food was reasonably priced. If I’m ever in the area again, I know I’d stop at this place for sure.
Bangkok Room Ansonia
The food is some of the best I've ever had Couldn't stop eating, everything was fantastic Service was also great, beautiful restaurant
Went for lunch on a Saturday, and got the green curry with the coconut soup and spring rolls. Firstly, the food was wonderful - some of the best Thai food around. Soup was excellent, and the flavor of the green curry (I got it with chicken) was out of this world. Thai iced tea was great too. Secondly, the portions were large, and reasonably priced. Atmosphere is very comfortable - it's a large restaurant with a very open feeling and nice decorations. Worth stopping in for lunch like we did!
F3 Food Truck- Food, Friends & Fun
F3 Food Truck is a fantastic new addition to the area! We tried the plain dosa, street-style egg fried rice, street-style egg noodles, and the chai tea, and everything was absolutely delicious. 🤤The flavors were authentic and satisfying. The food truck is well-organized, and the area around it is clean and inviting. The music playing adds a nice touch to the atmosphere. There’s a convenient area to sit and enjoy your meal, or you can easily take the food to go. Just keep in mind that there’s a 10-15 minute wait once you order, but it’s worth it because everything is cooked fresh. The prices are reasonable, and the portion sizes are generous. Friendly service and great food make this spot a must-visit. Highly recommend! 👏👍
This new food truck is a great spot for Indo Chinese fusion! Their menu has some great choices, and the chicken Manchurian was especially delicious. They did a great job of making a seating area behind their truck with nice lights and even a heater. Very reasonable prices and fantastic food. Perfect for a quick meal!
