đŸ«¶đŸŸDon’t let the unassuming location in Branford fool you—this hidden gem is an absolute delight! From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed into a warm and inviting atmosphere with exceptional service. The food is truly the star here. I enjoyed the signature salad, the chicken with spinach and mushroom gravy, and the limoncello cake—each dish was absolutely delicious. Treat yourself to an unforgettable meal, but be sure to plan ahead as they’re open Wednesday through Sunday. A must-visit!đŸ’ƒđŸŸ

Visited last night for the first time. Very different decor, but very cool and stylish. Food was great. Service was exceptional. Shout out to Aaron, who was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We will be returning soon.

Least flavorful Thai food I've ever eaten. Seriously, when have you ever been to a Thai restaurant where they don't even ASK how spicy you want it. Everything was very bland and didn't even taste like Thai food. We did get the beef and eggplant which was in fact tasty. Service was meh at best.

Most of the food was bland. The main came. It was jungle curry with chicken. They must have burnt the curry in the oil. It was inedible. I told them but they said it was the ginger. I've been to many Thai restaurants and have never had food that tasted like that. We paid for the burnt inedible dish. They did not remove it from the bill even though we didn't eat it. Will not return.

What an excellent experience. The restaurant is a bit on the small side with bar seating and a dining area. I recommend you try to get reservations to ensure you get in. We started dinner with some amazing Italian bread served with some garlic chimichurri sauce, it was delicious. For or entrees I had the ribeye special served with spinach and asparagus which was cooked at a perfectly medium rare temperature. My girlfriend had the special veal and pork ragĂș over ravioli. She loved it. Or meals were so good, we highly recommend. To end the evening we had the stuffed chocolate churros. Personally, I could have gone with just simple churros (no chocolate) but it was good. The service was excellent, she did a great job of answering or questions and providing suggestions. We will definitely be back.

Despite its unassuming location in a strip mall, this place is a true hidden gem! We visited on a busy Saturday night, so thankfully we had made a reservation. The restaurant offers a variety of seating options, including high-top tables, a bar with 14 stools, booths, and lower tables with chairs. Our party of five was seated at a cozy round table near the entrance, which was perfect for our group. The prices are reasonable, including both the appetizers, salads, main entrees and cocktails. We kicked things off with a selection of martinis, all priced at $12. Our server shared a range of specials, and one person in our group decided on the winter salad, while another chose the Chilean sea bass. The rest of us selected from the regular menu for our orders. If the ingredients are available, they're happy to accommodate special requests. I asked if I could substitute the veal for chicken in the Veal Limone, and they had no problem accommodating the request. The dish featured egg-battered chicken, layered with prosciutto and mozzarella, all served in a tangy lemon white wine sauce. It came with mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. The portion was quite generous, leaving me with enough to take half home after enjoying a warm roasted beet and arugula salad with gorgonzola, candied walnuts, and a Meyer lemon dressing. My friend's Veal Limone was incredibly tender and full of flavor. The grilled lamb chops, served in a red wine mushroom sauce with baby root vegetables and mashed potatoes, earned high praise -- he practically wiped his plate clean. My husband's seafood risotto, featuring mussels, clams, calamari, shrimp, and scallops in a pomodoro truffle sauce with a hint of cream, was absolutely divine. I believe him as he did not share a bite! The last dish ordered was the Chilean sea bass special, served with clams and spinach in a light broth. It was exactly what my friend had hoped for based on the server's description, and she said it definitely lived up to its flavorful promise. The presentation was also impressive. I suggest a visit although make a reservation so you won't be disappointed as it's a popular restaurant

Capone's Pizza Bar Rt. 80 0

Yesterday was my first and last time ordering pizza from Capone’s. My pizza was very badly burnt. See 4 photos. Instead of putting a burnt pizza in a box and handing it to me, I would have greatly preferred to hear someone say, “we accidentally over cooked your pizza, so you need to wait – we are making you another.” I would have been impressed by such a comment. When I called to complain the young female I spoke with was very polite and courteous. She offered to do it over again which I declined due to the time involved. She ultimately offered me a 2 week credit. An immediate refund to my credit card would have been preferred. I will not be going back. The few parts of the pizza that were edible were ok, but they were followed by an immediate after taste of charcoal. Most of the pizza was discarded.

We have been here a few times, each time we try something different. I love the buffalo chicken pizza because they put the buffalo sauce on top, it is so good!! The clams casino pizza was great too, we added bacon. The eggplant fries appetizer was awesome as well. Dinners come with a salad and garlic bread. I had the best drink I've had in awhile...Moscow Mule! So good, a must try!!

It’s not often that I would drive nearly an hour just for sushi, but Mr. J Asian Bistro is worth it! All of the fish was noticeably fresh and high-quality, and we were impressed by the presentation of some of their creative rolls. I like that they also serve Chinese and Thai dishes here, and even though we only had Japanese dishes on this visit, we look forward to coming back and trying more. Everything arrived to the table quickly, and the staff were kind and attentive. The restaurant itself had a nice vibe, and we sat across from the sushi bar which was exceptionally clean. I highly recommend checking them out, you won’t be disappointed! Great for takeout too.

Nobody does it better than Mr. J’s. The best Asian fusion in town. From sushi to curry and everything in between, the entire menu is spirited and delicious. Sushi is exceptional considering most rolls are under $8. The ambiance is nice and the service is extraordinary- you will never be waiting on drink refills! The easiest five stars you’ll see.

I had a mixed experience at Mystry Indian Kitchen. The food was good, and I especially enjoyed the garlic naan. However, I found the portion sizes to be quite small for the price. The service was decent, but the atmosphere left much to be desired. Unfortunately, I also noticed some sanitation issues. There were particles in my water, and the bathroom was dirty and lacking toilet paper. Given these concerns, I can’t say I would recommend this restaurant without some improvements.

I went into the restaurant not feeling great for a number of reasons, but needing something to eat before a long drive. It was quiet, but there were two tables occupied, and what I saw on both looked amazing both in how it was served and how it smelled. I was asked if I would dine in and take out, and at first I was going to do take out, but I’m really glad I stayed to dine in. The server was super lovely and answered my questions about the meal and just generally made me feel at ease and welcome. The music was great and the longer I sat at my booth the more glad I was I had dined in! I don’t even usually take photos of my food but I wanted to send it to my my family. I was appreciative that vegetarian options were listed (maybe even vegan but I can’t remember now) and again the server was great - she knew the menu and totally helped when I asked her opinion between two. There were lots of vegetarian options and I had leftovers for a few days - super delicious and filling and amazing. Just wanted to thank them / spread the word for really being lovely. I left feeling a lot better than I was feeling when I arrived :)

Absolutely disgusting. Found a bug in my food. The food itself was terrible but this just made me so unbelievably livid. A safety inspection needs to be done ASAP

Take out only no dining in the inside is dirty my family and I actually got sick after eating here so we won’t be going back

Best dumplings in town! Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, just the way I like them. They’re huge and full packed with filling, not to mention super fresh. You can tell they’re made with quality ingredients. I’ll be back for more!

The orange chicken here is outstanding! The portion was huge—definitely enough to satisfy a big appetite. The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a sauce that was perfectly balanced between sweet and tangy. Every bite was packed with flavor. I highly recommend it for anyone craving a delicious, hearty meal!

The food is always what we expect! As you can see my daughter didn’t leave anything behind when she orders shrimp fried rice with boneless spare ribs. We always order delivery the driver is phenomenal he’s usually here within 25 minutes. He also brings our dogs treats and they love him for that. Tip the driver he works hard and always goes above and beyond for us.

First and last time ordering here. $30 gives you much more food elsewhere, and better tasting. Their rice is undercooked, not to mention their large fried rice is a medium elsewhere. The boneless spare rib tips are chewy and taste mostly like cartilage, not to mention their small container doesn’t even get filled all the way. The mount of meat in the small container is the amount you’d get in a lunch combination plate. Their fried chicken wings have little flavor and aren’t equally proportional. 2 of my 4 wings were significantly undersized. They also chop the tips off the larger wings, and I enjoy my tips. That experience and extra meat was taken from me. I typically go to Yang Zi Jiang, and this is exactly why. Rather skip Chinese food altogether next time than to explore other options just because YZJ closes earlier.

Fresh food, fast service & kind folks who work there. The prices are on point for no-frills Chinese food!

We ordered takeout. The food was average, almost like Americanized Chinese food of the 1960s. Spices were off or something.

Steamed 0

Steamed is one of the few restaurants I would truly consider a “hidden gem” on the shoreline. I would give it 6 stars if I could. From the simplicity of the menu to the fresh, quality ingredients to their divine sweet chili sauce, everything about Steamed is perfect. Not to mention, the ambiance and overall dining experience has always been a pleasure. Menu highlights include the Chengdu pork dumplings and soup dumplings. On top of those, the pork and pork belly buns are incredibly flavorful, and even the basic chicken dumplings are great. The boba is decent but the food is where this restaurant shines. Always will be a go-to for a quick bite with friends or family.

One of my favorite places, I get them at least once every two weeks. Whether it’s dining in or take out, it always tastes amazing. The teas are great too!

Hands down the best Chinese food on the shoreline and maybe Connecticut. Always fresh meat, seafood and vegetables prepared without a ton of oils, sauces and salt/s to drown flavor. They also will prepare dishes for you including doing gluten free on dishes like General Tso’s or sesame chicken with rice/tapioca flour vs wheat.flour.

How this place only scores 4.4 is crazy to me. Always fresh and delicious. Always fast friendly service. One of my favorite places for Chinese in CT. If you’re looking for greasy this isn’t the place. Also reasonably priced which is tough these days!
