Absolutely phenomenal experience at **Thai Tanic**! I ordered the fried rice and was completely blown away — every bite was bursting with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to absolute perfection. It's easily the best fried rice I've ever had. The service? Lightning fast and incredibly friendly. The staff anticipated every need without hovering, and somehow managed to keep things both efficient and warm. It's rare to see that kind of attentive, seamless service these days. From the punny name to the unforgettable meal, Thai Tanic is a hidden gem that deserves all the praise. I’ll definitely be back — and bringing friends. Five stars without hesitation!

Absolutely the best fresh veggies and protein. The food is out of this world. Just simply amazing i would say that it is the best place to eat in Connecticut for Thai food. When I was eating I was full but couldn't stop because it is so delicious. Hanging out with my best friend and love my wife.

12-28-24 On A Positive Note: The cook has a very upbeat personality. I haven’t been here in years so I planned a lunch/shopping ladies day. For starters, I had to call out to the server whom was seated at the opposite end of the restaurant, rolling silverware. I ordered an appetizer and a “Melon Ball.” 🤢 Upon receipt, it resembled a tall glass of orange juice, which I do not like. I tried to drink it but it reminded me of when I use to take iron pills and used the orange juice to wash it down. I have to give the manager credit. He was willing to make it better. It was better but still unsatisfactory. I did not complain any further. I accepted that an orange is now a melon. 👀🤷‍♀️ My friend didn’t like her pina coloda either, it was watery and had ice chips in it, but she did not complain. I don’t think they added any alcohol to either drink or they drowned it in orange juice. The food was good and plentiful for a lunch portion. The cook provided the usual hibachi entertainment- “saki in your mouth” and the opportunity for one to pretend to be a hungry seal.😊 I give him 5 stars. The Verdict: The food is decent and the cook was great. I would not order mixed drinks here or advise one to go to the bar and watch it being made. A Daily Diner

My wonderful niece, who just received a well-deserved promotion, treated me to a delightful dinner at her favorite restaurant. I know I should have insisted on treating her, but she was so enthusiastic about it that I couldn’t say no! She raved about this spot and was incredibly persuasive, and let me tell you, I’m so glad I listened to her. The hibachi grill there was one of the cleanest I’ve ever seen—seriously, it looked like they had just opened! We ordered the hibachi meal, and the food was nothing short of phenomenal. The filet mignon literally melted in my mouth, and the rice, lo mein, and vegetables were perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. Hats off to the chef! I also decided to try the scorpion cocktail, a massive bowl filled with various liquors, topped off with a burning flame. It was delicious! Our hibachi chef was not only talented but also humorous and down to earth, making for a truly enjoyable evening. Thank you, dear niece, for such a memorable night!

I can’t believe I’ve been sleeping on some incredible Italian food right under my nose all these years! 🇮🇹 The owner of this hidden gem stopped by the Big Y where I work and casually mentioned I should swing by and give it a try. He was so friendly, I figured why not? 😄 I went for my usual comfort food—eggplant parmigiana, loaded with mozzarella, pesto, and garlic—and WOW, I was instantly hooked! 🧀🍆🍝 But here’s where it gets dangerous: I made the rookie mistake of trying the clams casino pizza. 🍕🦪 Let me tell you, it’s a game-changer. If you're a fan of authentic Italian flavors, do yourself a favor and head to Napoli’s. Trust me, you’ll be asking yourself, Why didn’t I try this sooner? 😋✨

I don’t get what people love this place for. Crazy overpriced and incredibly bland pizza. The larges are the size of like everyone else’s medium pies. The reason I gave it a 2 instead of a 1 is that the buffalo chicken pizza actually had some flavor.also, $16 for 8 wings? That’s more expensive than friggin J Timothy’s. Come on. That’s the same price as the hard hat cafe but at the hard hat, the wings are fried and then grilled, it’s a different kind of wing. These are just regular chicken wings here.

Was expecting the Dawg House to be a total dive bar, but ended up loving the vibe there! It was a lot nicer inside than I expected. The bar was large & the place was clean. The bartender was very friendly & attentive. We ordered the eggplant fries & they were fantastic! Highly recommend.

We were in the area for a show and stopped here for dinner and we're wildly impressed! The food was insanely good, prices were reasonable, staff was very friendly. My only complaint is that we live far away and that we won't be able to come back soon enough! Highly recommend the salmon lychee app special!

Great food and nice atmosphere. One thing that was odd was the extremely explicit music playing during our entire dinner. The food was great! They have vegan and vegetarian options. I would have given 5 stars, except for the horrid fish tank. There were 3 sad goldfish. 1 had a clearly bent spine and the other was drifting upside down through the water. They had horrible conditions which was a bummer

Awesome BBQ, easily some of the best in CT. The ribs were pretty lean which is good for me, and the brisket had a nice smoke flavor with visible rings. The egg rolls were insane, never had something stuffed like that before. The ricotta was ok but the bread was good. And the ribeye was cooked perfectly. It's quite a lot of food so highly recommend sharing!

Food was tasty, bartender was sweet and attentive. The service was a bit slow. The bacon pops were the only disappointment, fatty and rubbery.

Rice, rangoons, beef teriyaki, and short ribs were all fantastic. Self-serve condiments and utensils (always a plus). Prices and service +A as well.

2nd time the sweet and sour chicken was not edible. I'm done. Singlehandedly ruined Chinese food for me.

Brisket was excellent. Best baked beans and best mac-n-cheese I've ever had. Good cornbread too. If you like cars and rock n roll music, you'll love the atmosphere. Fast service. Reasonable prices.

Being from Buffalo food is a staple of our everyday lives. Our drive into Connecticut was rough to say the least. Our hotel underwhelming. I didn't know what to expect when finding a restaurant. We settled on Pig Rig because the atmosphere seemed cool. After a disastrous night this place turned our frowns around. The food was amazing. It was exactly what you want a BBQ joint to be like. The baby back ribs were the best I've ever had. Everything was great. What a great way to start our Connecticut adventure on a great path. Now come here and enjoy your meal today!

Holy moly- SO GOOD. My new go-to spot for sure!! I have driven by Al Aqsa for years and didn’t know what it was, and finally popped in today! I am so sad I missed all these years without knowing about this place! I got the chicken and rice along with a potato samosa and a chicken one. Also bought a box of dates and peanut brittle- the whole front is a store! Owner was incredibly nice and friendly, and broke down the entire menu for me! Be sure to give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!

I went for my first time today and ordered takeout of goat biryani and lamb/chicken mix gyro. After I tried it I called the store back and told the chef how delicious I think it is. The last time I had biryani this good it was at a south asian community center event where peoples grandmas was making it. Im just a white guy but this is up there with the best authentic iv had. Everythings seasoned right and the meats are fresh and juicy. This is the soul food that is hard to find unless ur in new york. Meriden wallingford area is very fortunate to have access to this. Big respect much love thank you Acki. * I went back and had the mixed lamb chicken over rice, and the chicken masala. Both very good.

11-25-24 On A Positive Note: I’ve dined here on two prior occasions. Today, I was seated at the bar. The bar is rather high for the seats. Nonetheless, my hibachi shrimp was tasty and well sauced. I didn’t need to use the mustard or the ginger sauce. The server was very attentive. She cleared my soup and salad bowls immediately after I finished each of them. However, she did not offer to refill my water. The Verdict: Great food and service. I deducted one star from the atmosphere due to the awkwardness of the bar height in comparison to the stool. I’m 5’ 7”. I would dine here again- just not at the bar.😊

This place has some of the best sushi in the state!! My favorite is the Paradise Roll, it is outstanding!!! I highly recommend this restaurant for incredible sushi!! I am a fan for life!!!! For dessert try the warm sweet rice and fresh mango!

Amazing to find really good, fresh fish along with excellent service in middle of CT. Perfect place to enjoy a perfectly fried, Captains platter with scallops, cod, clam bellies, shrimp and calamari with a side salad and fries. Enjoyed meal on outside patio while cool, sun was out. Will return. Waitress was very attentive, checking to make sure we enjoyed meal. We also enjoyed a very creamy and tasty clam chowder and chicken wings.

Went to Canton and Rocky Hill restaurants. Fish stew is one of my favorites. Rocky Hill is hands down the winner. RH has more fish variety in the stew and is much spicier. Had fish combo at RH. Best fish around, I highly recommend. Family style salad with great house dressings. Dinner still comes with an after dinner fruit bowl. Wait staff was very attentive. Definitely my go to fish restaurant.

This place was pretty chill and a had a nice environment. The only thing holding it back is that it’s so expensive. The 22 dollar sushi triple roll I got was a decent amount and tasted great but it had quite an amount of filler in the fish. I bought a sushi pizza appetizer which was 16 bucks and it was soooooo tiny. Tasted good but not worth the price. My friend also got some shrimp with veggies and rice for 22 bucks and it was 95% veggies and 4 pieces shrimp. If you get anything here get the sushi.

12/09/24 - A shumai and yellowtail sashimi app, Sunset Boulevard signature roll (spicy tuna, salmon, yellowtail, avocado w/plum sauce), and the Happy Four Season - beef, chicken, scallops & shrimp w/mixed vegetables perfect, as always. # 10/08/24 - Special occasion. Two roll lunches with spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail and shrimp tempura. # 5/24 - Still remarkable service and food. # 8/31/23: We love lunch here. Two of us ordered the 2 roll option with spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail and eel/avocado and one the salmon box. All came with a choice of soup & salad. # 1/23: Tasty rock shrimp, gyoza, sushi, sashimi, hand roll and cooked shellfish main. # 8/22: Always scrumptious. # Liki lunches are always delicious & nutritious. Hot green tea, sake, wonton soup with salad and ginger dressing, a teriyaki salmon box and 3 sushi rolls. I like the slivers of ginger. Their wasabi has a good burn. # For kicks, we tried the Scorpion drink for two. Nice presentation. Moderate alcohol despite the list. The Rock Shrimp App was so good order it for dinner. # Fine meal Feb '22. Arigatou! Sake and wonton soup nice & hot; fried pork gyoza, scallion pancakes & yellowtail sashimi all perfect; Seafood combo main, Avon Roll, Liki King Roll and Unagi were fine. # Sat at the bar this visit. Ordered 3 apps & 2 special cocktails from their blackboard. Drinks were great. Shrimp tempura was very good. Steamed gyoza. Curious if Japanese cuisine made a different version of calamari than Italian, we tried it. Very crunchy with a deep fried panko crust. It's good, but we prefer the traditional version. # Late Nov. lunch brought two teriyaki lunch boxes with salmon and shrimp. Salads and wonton soup still very good. The tea was hot this time, but the sake can use more heat. White rice was dry, cool and flavorless, so my partner mixed it into his brown rice upgrade which was warm and moist. Service is polite & efficient. # Exceptional lunch late Oct. I mean to have sit down lunches more often in Asian restaurants, instead of only dinner or picking up take-out. Liki gave us a noteworthy meal that included our choice of soup & a crisp salad with dressing that reminded me of Benihana's. The Wonton soup has delicate wrappings on the pork and a warm broth. I had 3 signature rolls: shrimp tempura, spicy tuna & eel avocado. All delicious. My partner chose a Lunch Box Special that comes with 3 shumai, a California roll, salad & rice. The Salmon Teriyaki Box had a lovely portion of fish with some cooked broccoli & carrots, shumai and a CA roll. The only flaw: the hot tea needs to be served hot. # As someone who used to eat sushi for many years in CA, and since Murasaki/Sakimura closed in Simsbury, I'm happy to find another good sushi restaurant in the area. Our table of three had two diners who ate raw fish and one who did not, but since Liki like most sushi places offers both cooked and raw fish, and other cuisine, we ordered a variety of items. Our meal included one yellowtail sushi, two spicy tuna hand rolls, a spider roll, shrimp tempura roll, pan fried pork dumplings, Thai veg mini rolls, one miso and wonton soup, a salad and two entrées. Two of us shared the triple sashimi 15 pc platter of the Chef's daily selection with salmon, yellowtail & tuna. One had the seafood combo of lobster, scallop, crab, shrimp & vegetables with brown rice. We ordered 2 pcs of Unagi for a traditional finish, but our waitress brought only one saying the Chef only makes one at a time. We split the one served. Everything was well prepared, fresh and a pleasure to eat. Miso soup is different on the west coast, so I'm getting used to the gold broth here. Liki has a well stocked bar. We tried the "Cucumber Smash," and "Liki Lemonade" with strawberries, lemonade & simple syrup but substituted Brockmans gin for vodka. Both were pretty and flavorful but my partner couldn't taste any gin. Ordering a 2nd, they were out of strawberries. I said see if it's the strawberries masking the gin or a light pour. It was the latter. I'll stick with sake. A small hot carafe completed the meal.
