Lin's Chinese Buffet
I called in my order. Got my daughter to pick it up. Honey chicken has no honey flavor and rubbery chicken while chewing. Rice has no very little flavor. The chef didn’t feel like working today. The nicest thing I can say is food was hot and fortune cookies were good. Waste of my money. Usually the food is good, I’m thinking it has to be a new cook. I won’t be returning.
DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! Went today for lunch with some family with a party of 5. My husband took a sip of his refilled drink and pulled a ROACH out of his MOUTH!! Absolutely unacceptable!! He was so disgusted that he went to the bathroom and threw up everything he had just eaten. Called for a manager and was told the roach came from the pipe for the fountain drink machine. Yeah right!!! They swore they do not have roaches there. I said, yes you do, there’s your proof as I pointed to the roach he had spit out on the table. They ONLY discounted $9 of our $108 bill for the “inconvenience”. They could have at least not charged us for his meal since he vomited it all up anyway. I expressed how disgusting it was and I will NEVER be back!!! Totally GROSS.
Ruby Garden Chinese Restaurant
I eat at this place often. The food is good, the waitresses are polite and helpful. It could be a bit cooler 🥶 in the building but overall I enjoy coming to this place. As you can see in my photos I’m a repeat customer and plan on coming back in the future. Good job
Chicken and vegetables dinner was the best. Hot and fresh. All three women were super nice. Felt good to stay and eat here.
Dragon Garden Restaurant
They have good Chinese. Convenient location and there's plenty of parking. The line/wait can be 10 - 15 minutes when there's a rush but the cooks are fast and there's tons of shopping options nearby. I keep busy instead of waiting.
It cost me $17.09 to get all white meat with the Mandarin chicken. Fried rice with nothing but rice no egg, no peas no carrots nothing else just rice and an eggroll. This is at the Laplace location. I’ve gotten better Chinese for half the price in Metairie. And the sauce is disgusting. Not even the right color. It’s beef gravy. And nothing even taste good I thought I would have extra food for tomorrow so I didn’t mind paying almost $20 for one meal but I will not give this to my dog to eat.
China Wok
I have literally been coming to this small take out for well over 10 years. In all that time, every single order has been perfectly made, the food was always tasty and consistently made each time without fail, the cashier always friendly, and the food is always ready in 10 minutes or less. I only give 'Atmosphere' a 3 because it is a small shop with only a few tables. It's not really designed for sitting in to eat but the food itself is what is the best and that is what certainly counts. Thank you for the great food over the years!
I didn’t know when you order sweet n sour chicken you need to specify you want sweet n sour sauce with the fried chicken. Literally had zero sauce on it. And the boneless chicken dinner is just chicken soaked in soy sauce. Was our first time visiting and Will not be back. *Update since they’ve responded. Even if that was the case, I was not given any sauce on the side. FYI your menu online presents zero pictures. Please excuse me for not looking online for pictures of basic sweet n sour chicken that all Chinese restaurants provide WITH sauce.
China Lotus
We went to China Lotus 04 Feb 2024 to try it out as I saw it on Facebook, and it appeared to be a fun place to try. After spending almost $80.00 on (2) meals, an order of Crab Rangoon and (2) spring rolls we got home, and the food was not edible. I rarely leave bad reviews as I understand establishments have bad days and the food service industry is tough, but this was an exception to the rule. First issue was when asking the staff what the flavors were in certain dishes as they were not the 'normal' Chinese dishes, we were left with blank stares and "This is only my second day' comments. We ordered anyways in hopes they were good. We got home and pulled the food out and though it was large portions, there was NO sauce. Basically, dry chicken and a weird steak meat that was over some dry noodles with no sauce and that dish was $20.00 alone. We also ordered sesame chicken and that was dry as well and completely flavorless. The Crab Rangoon tasted like a big ball of cream cheese with no crab rolled up and fried in a wonton and the spring rolls had little to no filling and were overcooked to say the least. Ultimately, I was very disappointed to have wasted almost $80 on dinner to just throw it in the trash. I even thought of repurposing the meat into another dish but couldn't get past the blandness and overall weird texture. I hope they get better at their craft as last night's experience was absolutely atrocious.
1st the food was no where near fresh. Very disappointing quality and size of portion. 2nd the proce was outrageous. They are very proud of their food. Not sure why. They used to have great food. So you didn't mind that it was pricey. We couldn't even eat our food 2 bites and it went into the trash. I will say the egg rolls not too bad. But for 80 bucks not worth it. Won't be back..... ever
China Palace Restaurant
Noodles, fried rice is ok, lacks some flavor but not bad ... I'd come back ...
So delicious. The food was incredible and the service was even better. The only thing is, because the food is so good and cheap it's always buzzing. But don't be discouraged, it's more than worth it.
Hong Kong Restaurant
Love this place for takeout. Food is very good. People are very nice. I love their vegetable fried rice, chicken teriyaki, crab rangoon, and chicken wings.
Hong Kong makes the best hot n sour soup! I also got the dragon & phoenix with white rice & egg rolls. Everything was piping hot and delicious!
Asian Pearl Chinese Restaurant
I haven't been here since Mimi owned ot, so I thought I would give it a shot. It's still similar, just a little different. I would have liked to have more flavor in the fried rice. The hot and sour soup was light and flavorful. The General Tso's chicken was just as it's always been, crunchy and delicious. Service was prompt and polite. Best Chinese food in the greater Baker/Zachary area.
Had a wonderful Sunday dinner after church at the Asian Pearl! The hot and sour soup is the best I’ve ever tasted. Both my husband and I had delicious entrees that were beautifully presented. And our server, Echo, was personable and fun as well as great at taking care of us. Thanks Asian Pearl, for a great dining experience!
China Wok
This was my second time ordering take out here. Last time was over a year ago and I can't remember why I don't get my food from here. It was the rice for sure. Ordering online was very convenient and easy. My food was ready and hot within the estimated time frame. I entered the store paid for my food and left with my order. My order was correct and pickup was error free. The food is what brings it down to two stars. I ordered the chicken and broccoli combination. I was having something to eat before I went out for the evening. The fried rice was bland and no veggies which made it just colored white rice. It seems like I got the bottom of the rice and it had a big clump in it of hard mushed rice. The icing on the cake was as I was chewing, I discovered a big piece of plastic cooked with the food. It was not appetizing as I pulled it from my mouth. As I was digging, I found more pieces of plastic chopped in my food. Very concerning. I closed the container because my appetite was ruined and I had to head out for the evening. Please beware of the quality of your meal before consumption. I would not recommend.
I believe this is the best Chinese food in Baton Rouge. It’s a takeout place, but the food has always been fantastic, with large portions and a very reasonable price. My favorite Chinese place to go!
Hot Wok
This place has been rock solid in my experience. The food is consistently good no matter what you order. The menu has a ton of variety and the dishes are all properly distinctive. Good fresh veggies. Several types of noodles. Fried stuff is crisp without being greasy, which is not always easy to pull off. Their fried chicken is surprisingly excellent every single time. On top of all that, the staff is always friendly (sometimes rushed but never rude), portion sizes are bigger than average, and their turnaround time is quick even for large orders. I'd recommend them any day of the week.
Haven't been there in years just the food was immaculate
China King
Barely anything on the buffet but you get charge for the buffet. Stay for about an hour and towards the end stuff start to get refilled. But get charge for a full buffet THAT THEY DIDN'T HAVE! They was too focus on to go orders instead of refilling the buffet! Never going back again that’s ridiculous. And instead of saying sorry you get a misunderstood person tell you that you pay for what you eat but all you ate was the damn noodles and rice and a few old pieces of chicken they had as strips. AND ASK MANY TIMES ABOUT IT BEING REFILLED AND GOT JUST AN “OKAY”. I wish I would have taken photos since he kept asking where it’s empty at, bring yourself around the register and you will see the empty container with damn crumbs in it
Worst chinese food I've ever had. I have never seen curry shrimp that looked like this. It was not spicy and seemed to be the wrong order. I was told I could return and they would give me some hot mustard. It was very very bland. The shrimp egg rolls were more like oil with shrimp. My first and last time there.
China One
update: I wrote my review and then went and read all the reviews. You will notice the same thing over and over. They are stingy on the food, and no flavor. That about wraps it up. previous: I just went here last night. The first thing I noticed was the price. The price of my meal was 3.00 higher from where I usually go. When I went to order my daughter the crab ragoon, I was like WoW, they are double the price. Well ok, my daughter wanted them so I ordered 2. I got 2 other meals in case my order wasn't good, because what I get is hit or miss, never know. I ordered a back up in case. I ordered coconut shrimp too to share. While waiting I noticed how tight and greedy they were with their signs. Can not over stuff to go box or they will charge double. How many people go for a to go box and stuff it? All the time. How many times are you charged double? Never, from all the places I went, all over. There was even a sign that said "No refill on drinks". That right there was extremely tight surprising. I was really taken back on that, lol. When do you ever see that? I only saw that one time in a place in Livingston but it didn't stay open that long. Now the food. You would think since it cost top dollar for to go food it would be good. This was the most bland, no flavor food I have ever eaten. The seafood delight was so bland that even after 2 packets of salt, and 2 soy sauces, it still didn't have any flavor. The coconut shrimp was done in a bread batter and not a crispy buttery flour batter like other places. The coconut sauce was good but who can go wrong on that? The double priced rangoons were hard and when I say had nothing in them, they had enough to coat the inside and was hollow. I was furious about that because 8.25 for a wonton is insane. I also go hot and sour soup, and that was actually good and priced around what others price theirs but was still on the higher end of that scale and it was fine because it was actually flavored as it is supposed to be. Most other places forget the sour part and just make it hot. I will not be going back to this place. My husband's singapore was good but not as seasoned and spicy as others we have been to. So if you like spicy, it wasn't. It was pleasant to me because I don't' like spicy more than flavor. Bottom line is, if you are going to charge high prices for your food, please at least make sure it taste good. The people were nice to face but I gave 3 stars because even though nice, they are the ones making the rules and setting the greedy prices of no refill on drinks, even though it wouldn't be costing them much at all and charging "double" and not as just according to weight to where it may come out to be 14-15 for the overage instead of 20.
Have been here 3 times total. First two times were good. Third time I chose to get something different. Mongolian beef. Have had from other places in the past and loved it. To start it was honestly 98 percent onions and peppers. Maybe 3 to 4 little pieces of beef. Besides this the sauce was so horrible I had to just throw it all away. Its not even about a specific taste thing, the smell and taste will not leave me and makes me nauseous. Please take this item off your menu. I had the happy family and four seasons both above average. Did not expect something like this to come from y'all. Nothing but onions as picture shows.
